If you stay at suite, you totally get a nicer patio area

Hi Yelp Readers!! We are back here at Hilton Anaheim! Last time we were here both Starbucks and the pool was being renovated, I'm happy to say it is done!! So I will post pictures! This time we are in the 5th floor and the room we stayed at was decent but I don't think it's been renovated yet, because in the bathroom they still have both the shower and bathtub together. Because we were on the 5th floor we got a "patio" now that part was icky because the floor covering was all ripped apart (I posted pictures), but the people who stay in a suite gets a nice one (posted pictures too...no one was outside, so I was able to take pictures). I like the 5th floor because that is where the pool is located. Service in the hotel was nice.

All mixed drinks I tried are great : sunflower, playing hooky, and heatwave..

The experience was amazing... with just few considerations I noticed. I'm happy how the front desk handles all inquiries and sudden change of plans for my reservation. Very quick check in and attentive attention to your needs. The room was amazingly clean and the cleaning ladies are all nice and friendly. I didn't realized, but until the last day I was there, that by the pool there's a bar, and you can drink by the pool... I was told by the manager that there was advertisement posted by the elevators... I told her, not majority pay attentions to elevators advertisements..anyway, I would like to shout out, to the bartenders Gonna and Kailee? ( I'm not sure her name spelling) they're awesome... very friendly and engaging to customers.

After searching high and low for a very very last minute reservation for Veteran's Day weekend, I was pretty bummed to see our dates not being available at our normal go-to hotels. Yes, I realize I procrastinated a whole lot but not being able to find a place to accommodate our stay and being close enough in proximity to Disneyland/California Adventures was just baffling given the fact that the park is surrounded by rooms. Luckily for us, I stumbled across Hilton Anaheim. Hilton in general has always been pretty good to us and seeing that they had openings for a stay... SAY LESS!!! My family and I arrived at about 1:30am and checking in was a breeze. There was staff to greet us and get us situated promptly. Do be advised that parking will set you back an additional fee but the parking structure is MASSIVE. No need in worrying about whether or not there will be an opening, just anticipate a walk because not once were we lucky enough to find anything remotely close to the elevators during our stay. The hotel in itself is beautiful upon arrival. Things are well lit, bright, and very chic. Tons of seating is present whichever direction you look. Our stay consisted of the Sunset Terrace which includes: sliding glass door that opens out to a sundeck, 2 queen sized beds, and a mini fridge. Our stay: We were immediately hit with a yucky smell as soon as we opened the door. I have not idea what it was or what caused for it but the scent lingered the entire time we stayed here. Beds are comfy enough but the walls are paper thin!! Not great for a light sleeper myself but it was manageable up until our final night where we had security banging on the room next door to us. You could hear 2 security guards standing right outside our door, walkie talkies chirping back and forth, and periodic bangs on the doors stating for the occupant to open up for security. All of this occurring around 11ish pm- 12 midnight and us coming back for some much needed rest after spending the entire day at DCA. Fun right? Shower worked well but I noticed the slooow draining of the water on the 2nd day of our stay. 3 stars overall. I'd make the decision to stay again if it was genuinely necessary but this wouldn't be my first pick. For those saying Hilton Anaheim is walking distance from Disneyland, kudos to you! I'd prefer my 13 minute walk from our typical stay as opposed to the 30 minute walk it would have taken us from here. If your anything like me, opt for the $6/per person bus pass- it will take some patience but there less physical effort on your part since you'll already be burning tons of calories at the park.

This review is solely regarding this hotel as an event space. We were working with this location to host a holiday party for several hundred people. The entire process was difficult and many of the terms that were initially agreed upon were changed without warning less than a week before the event. There were many inconsistencies in pricing of the food and drinks. Several deposits were required prior to the event. The person we were working with tried to charge an extra $30,000 because she had forgotten that one of the deposits was already paid. When shown the receipts/confirmation of previous payment, all she replied with was "oops." When booking the location, our group was told that the room would be all decorated for Christmas, but the only decorations were two small trees. We ended up pulling together our own decorations later on to make up for the lack of decorations that we were promised. There were also several stains in the carpet from a previous event. The food that they served was mediocre at best. The proteins were overcooked and the food had very little flavor. The bread that they served was also extremely stale. It seemed that they were not prepared for the amount of people they were supposed to serve because the food ran out very quickly and they didn't refill any of the dishes until right before they cleaned up. A lot of the guests expressed dissatisfaction with not being able to try many of the dishes. One positive note is that the bussers that they had were very quick and did a good job keeping the tables clear of dirty dishes. The person we were working with told us that everything had to be up to "Hilton standard" but based on this experience, I'm not sure if that is a good thing.

We've stayed here a number of times and always have a great experience. Check-in is easy, especially if you're doing valet--they're very friendly and helpful, and they take your bags so you can head straight up to your room. As a Hilton Honors member, I feel appreciated. The dedicated check-in line is a nice touch, and I've even seen a separate Hilton Gold line at Starbucks on occasion. They recently redid the bar area, and it looks great! There's now even more space and plenty of seating, which makes it a nice place to relax. Since this is a hotel attached to a convention center, expect crowds when big events are happening. The pool area is family-friendly, with a small water playground, and they're currently remodeling it. I'm excited to see how it turns out! On our last visit, the pool was closed, which was a bit of a bummer since it was the hottest weekend of the year--but when it's open, you can catch a view of Disneyland fireworks from the pool deck, which is a nice bonus. There's a small market downstairs with coffee, sandwiches, bottled drinks, wine, and other snacks. You'll also find a Starbucks and a full-service restaurant on-site. Prices are definitely on the high side, but that's expected for a Hilton so close to Disneyland. There are also a few gift shops with souvenirs and essentials. Parking is in a huge structure, which is convenient, but the layout can be a bit of a hassle--you need to take one elevator down to the lobby, then an escalator or a different elevator up to your room. It's great for safety, but not ideal when you're trying to check out with luggage. We switch between Hilton properties in this area based on need and price, but this one is top 3 for us and we'll be back!

    Vacation Minnie and Mickey

We've visited this hotel for various conferences, however, we came back for an anniversary staycation with our kids this past weekend & had the most AMAZING time!!! What made it amazing was the OC party company that came and added Disney Magic to our hotel experience!!! The first night, our kids received free face painting and took pictures with vacation Mickey and Minnie! Mickey and Minnie engaged with the kids and made them feel soooo special- actually better than the park!! The next day, the Little Mermaid and Jack Sparrow swam at the pool, read stories, and even performed a fun magic show and treasure hunt! We also loved the glitter tattoos! We're headed home, but we might return to poppies restaurant tomorrow, just for the character breakfast!! Our kids loved poppies and got a kick out of the Mickey waffles!!! Overall, we would come back for many more staycations (since we're magic keyholders) & stay at Hilton for the Disney Magic!!!

Stayed at the hotel for a conference. Every part of the hotel that I went in was clean. Every employee that I ran into over my four day stay was super polite, nice and courteous. Everyone was smiling and extremely helpful every time I got lost trying to find where I needed to be during the different parts of my conference and when answering all of my random questions. We had breakfast lunch and dinner in the hotel Monday through Wednesday. There was a large parking structure with nice size parking spots. You could tell they were not trying to cram in as many cars as they could. My room was nice and I had a great view. The set up for all of our breakfast lunch lunches and dinners was really nice and professional. The only thing I didn't care for was that the security latch in my room was broke. Hotels should really make sure all security features on their hotel room doors are functional. Especially traveling as a single woman that is super important to me. The hotel is within walking distance of Disneyland and so much other stuff. Even with the hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people there for our conference, the hotel guaranteed things ran smoothly. During our Reception, we were in such a beautifully decorated space The Lanai deck. Our lunch and dinners were on the sunset deck. During all three food services, the staff ran like clockwork. They constantly replenish the food, serve the food, made you feel like a valued customer.

Hilton Anaheim as an event space was a very disappointing experience. While the physical space itself is large, that is where the positives end. We paid Hilton well over 100,000 dollars to host our event and were nickel and dimed at every possible opportunity. We were even offered help carrying our own supplies into the venue at a rate of 10 dollars per trip which set the tone early on. Food: We were charged $7.50 per person just to bring our own appetizers. We opted in on their catering service, but unfortunately the food provided by the hotel was no better than a low quality all you can eat buffet. Even worse, many of our guests were not satiated because the portions and options were extremely limited for the scale of the event. For the price point, this was unacceptable. Service: We were charged for missing staff on their end which was eventually refunded only after we pointed out that the issue was not caused by us. That alone should never have happened. Communication throughout the process felt one sided and reactive rather than proactive. Event preparation: We were offered a room to prepare for the party and specifically requested that the temperature be lowered. The room remained hot for the entire night despite repeated requests which made preparation uncomfortable and unnecessarily stressful. Booking and pricing: The venue was booked well in advance with agreed upon pricing. As the event date approached, they repeatedly attempted to charge us several thousand dollars more each time we interacted for items that had already been discussed and included in the original agreement. This created constant friction and made the entire planning process frustrating.

Bad signage for rooms during remodel

Hotels in Anaheim can get pricey. Ones near Disneyland can be especially so. The Hilton Anaheim can be pretty reasonable. It can be cheaper than less nice hotels that are farther away. This is because it has so many rooms and if there's no big conferences, it has a lot of rooms it can fill. First things first--parking. Not cheap but my main gripe was that the parking lot had lots of spots that said "reserved" and some that didn't. It was unclear if we could park in "reserved" so from the parking lot, we called the hotel and asked. They said we could park there. I believe "reserved" means reserved for hotel guests because the parking lot is also available to people not staying there. After parking, we got our hotel keys from the front desk and headed up to our room. Some bad signage was confusing. There was an arrow pointing straight to get to a series of rooms, but there was no way to get there because the doors were closed due to remodeling. We had to go outside to get to our room and the front desk did not tell us--we saw people walk by and walk outside and then we followed them. A few nights later, a family was looking confused at that closed door on our floor and we told them they had to go outside. If that was confusing to 2 adults, imagine how annoying that is for families with young kids! At check-in, the receptionist also did not tell us that Disneyland did not have fireworks that night. That would've been helpful to know after we mentioned them to her about wanting to rush through check-in, drop off our bags, and head out to see. Our last gripe was that there were no bathrobes and slippers, which most Hiltons have (I know European Hiltons are nicer but I still expected more.) Rooms are thin. Could hear kids loud outside. The location is good. It's walking distance to the Mickey and Friends parking lot so you can take that shuttle to the parks. It's probably roughly the same amount of time to walk to the parks, but the security at Mickey and Friends is faster than the parks so you save time there. The Hilton texted me about how our stay was going and I told them. They remedied my complaints by giving me a $75 room credit which was very nice. That helped bring down the cost of parking! I was also eyeing their room service and restaurants but ultimately did not order anything. The Starbucks in the hotel was always busy. The lobby was nice and spacious. Lots of people did work there, and there were plenty of smaller conferences. The signage was good for that! Ultimately would stay there again because it was cheaper than most hotels in that good location/with proximity to Disney parks and they had good customer service.

I have no complaints regarding their accommodations at the Hilton Anaheim. It is close to the convention center and close to Disneyland, as well as California Adventure, and Downtown Disney, It is , centrally located near restaurants and other eateries, and businesses and accommodations. The rooms and services there are top-notch, I highly recommend this hotel.

Super mid hotel. Stayed on the 10th floor and I assume the rooms were part of a renovation. My reason for visiting was a conference held in the hotel. For the reasons of convenience. Great. But everything here is so minimal and odd. The room was comfortable. It was clean. But I had to ask for new towels because the ones that were in the room all had something on them. The couch had something on it that looked dried up and crusty. The restaurants were not good. Even the Starbucks tasted different. They have a market to buy waters and snacks. I spent $11 on a bottle of water and banana. The gym was under renovation, but the location of the gym is spooky. It's under the stairs, lower level amongst offices for the hotel I assume. I didn't feel safe. In the evening, there were two armed security guards in the lobby. I have never seen that at a hotel ever. There is a food court. With Italian, Mexican, and burgers. A gift shop that looks like bootleg Disney merch. It was feeling like an abandoned mall. This was not my first time staying here. I did stay here a few times before 2020. And the hotel just seemed higher and, full of life and not so cheap. There's just something off about this place.

The hotel itself feels a bit dated and could use some updates, but honestly, a room is a room--it serves its purpose. My main issue was the lack of communication and professionalism from the staff throughout my stay. For context, I am an IHG Platinum member. One of the benefits of Platinum status is eligibility for early check-in and room upgrades, both of which are subject to availability. I travel frequently and completely understand that these perks are never guaranteed. However, based on my experience and recommendations from hotel staff at other properties, I typically call the night before arrival to request that a note be added to my reservation regarding an early check-in request. The night before my arrival, I called the hotel and spoke with a front desk employee named Daisy. I politely asked if she could add a note to my reservation requesting early check-in. Her only response was, "Early check-in is subject to availability," which I already understood. What confused me was that she never asked for my name, confirmation number, or any information that would allow her to locate my reservation. When I pointed this out and asked how she could add a note without identifying my booking, she still refused to pull up my reservation. The call ended with no note added and a very poor impression of the hotel's customer service. The next morning, after landing around 7:00 AM, I called again hoping to speak with someone else. I was hoping to refresh before the rest of my day. This time I spoke with Elizabeth, who was much more helpful and was able to locate my reservation and add the note. I mentioned my experience from the previous evening, and her immediate response was, "Who said that?" I chose not to name anyone and simply explained what had happened. She told me she would do her best and said I should be able to get into a room around noon. Since I was already nearby, I slowly made my way to the hotel and arrived around 11:30 AM. Elizabeth was not there at the time, so I spoke with a male front desk employee and explained that I had been told a room would likely be available around noon. His immediate response was again, "Who said that?" It felt as though every staff member was more concerned with identifying who had provided information rather than helping the guest in front of them. The lack of communication between employees was becoming increasingly obvious. I then asked if I could at least begin the check-in process and park my car in the garage rather than continue occupying one of the check-in parking spaces. Only then did he ask for my reservation information. In my experience, most hotels are able to begin the check-in process even if the room is not quite ready. After parking and waiting a short while, Elizabeth returned around noon and was able to get me checked in. During check-in, I also requested a late checkout and was told that a 1:00 PM checkout had been approved. The communication issues continued the following day. My partner asked me to confirm our checkout time, so I stopped by the front desk. A male and female employee looked up my reservation and appeared confused, telling me there was no late checkout noted on the account. Once again, I had to explain that it had already been approved. And once again, I was asked who had approved it. Both employees then agreed to honor the 1:00 PM checkout. Even on the day of departure, the confusion persisted. While I was in the shower getting ready to leave, the room phone repeatedly rang. When I finally answered, a front desk employee asked whether I had a late checkout. I replied that I did. My entire stay felt like there was little to no communication between staff members. Every request seemed to require re-explaining the situation, and every interaction was met with questions about which employee had said what rather than a review of the reservation notes. As a loyal IHG member, this was one of the most frustrating hotel experiences I've had. Unfortunately, because of the poor communication and inconsistent customer service, I don't know if I would choose to stay at this property again.

First off the location is great for the parks, it's a doable walk when your feet are still fresh but if you're too tired they have their cute little trolley that drops you off and picks you up from the parks once an hour. It's a very quiet hotel, i've never had any noise issues staying there. The rooms are always clean and the beds are super comfy. Another plus is the A/C's always work great and since they renovated they're in the ceiling so it cools a lot more evenly. They've got a pool and hot tub plus a small wading pool for the little tykes! They've really stepped up their continental breakfast as well. Lots of choices and great things to grab for snacks later inside the park. The staff is always phenomenal and friendly. From front desk, to maids, to groundskeepers and security guards everyone smiles and greets you when walking by. We like a specific area of the hotel and they almost always honor that and are very personable. The price is pretty comparable to other ones in the surrounding area when you factor in parking fees for them. My family is usually willing to pay a little extra for that Candy Cane Inn charm. More affordable than any Disney branded hotel but still that great Disney level customer service.

Like most travelers, we loved the location of this spot and convenience to getting to Disney (my…read moredaughter saw the others in the elevator with Dsney ears and whispered, I think they're going to Disneyland too!). We used this as our base for Aneheim - Disneyland, California Adventure and Knott's Berry Farm. The breakfast was super convenient - we loaded up on fruit (more like berry compote if you go earlier, less variety like just cantaloupe if you wake up late!), various breads, peanut butter, jelly, honey, coffee, yogurts, pancakes, french toast sticks; and oatmeal to stay healthy. Paid using our 12,000 points per night, and needed to pay for the $40/night for parking. While we tried the Toy Story parking and shuttle, the security line was really long at the time we went, and would've been way more convenient to just walk straight down to the parks. We also loved being near the very yummy Chubby Dumplings - just wished it was open later so I could've enjoyed it on my Disney days! I also used the CVS for last minute Disney items we forgot and Starbucks for a birthday drink nearby (otherwise, would've been perfectly happy with the complimentary coffee breakfast!).

The staff here set the bar for what hotel customer service should look like. Over years of stays, I've never had an unfriendly interaction. When something has gone wrong, they've handled it without making me feel like I was asking for too much. The rooms are worn, it's an older property, but the pool, hot tub, and gym check all my boxes. Breakfast is standard Hyatt House fare. The location is fantastic- walking distance to Disney, right next to a Walgreens, CVS across the street for everything you forgot to pack. It's also right next to a mobile order Starbucks so you're ready to grab your caffeine and hit those parks!

I did not eat breakfast but it was well appointed. And the guests seemed to like it. I grab some hot coffee and it was good. My room was a king room on the end, 3rd floor. It was VERY quiet the first 2 nights. VERY. I got 2 great nights of sleep. The AC worked great (it was not a wall unit but a unit by the window). This is a super easy walk to the Toy Story parking lot. My room overlooked that lot. You can walk to the lot, go through security and hop on the Disney bus that lets you out right at the gate. Super convenient. CON-The 3rd night....there were maybe 3 teens staying in the room that connected to my assigned room. There was door connecting. They attempted to enter my room a few times. Which isn't super comfortable for a single, female traveler. Then they returned late (maybe they'd been at grad night?). They woke me up bc I could hear them. Is this the hotels fault? No. But it may cause me to pause when booking in the future. PRO-William and Jovani are the stars at the hotel. They were super friendly Everytime I saw them and asked if I needed anything. The hotel staff was very professional and provided options to the third party booker to rectify the issue, but ultimately I ended up keeping the room that was reserved for me. Again, not the hotel's fault at all. Unfortunately, on the morning of my second day staying here I discovered three bites that appeared to be bed bug bites. We immediately contacted the front desk and they were extremely professional and were able to book us another room. I was pretty upset as it cut out 1-2 hours out of Disney since we had to pack our stuff and move...I ended up filing an incident report as it was recommended by Jeovanni to have it documented. Huge props to Jeovanni for his professionalism and assistance with the matter. Mishaps aside, we had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Comfortable beds (aside from the bed bugs...), decent free breakfast, and I loved the convienence to Disney. The Toy Story parking lot is around the corner so we took the shuttle from there to get to the park.
