I stayed here for a week long conference at the Charlotte Convention Center, a very short walk from this Hilton. The perks for me were location and friendly staff. I appreciated the affordability, views and spacious room and shower amenities. However, I couldn't sleep well while here, as it was always warm even though I tried turning my thermostat as low as it would go in my room. The light bulb in my entry way near the closet kept blinking so I reported it the first day. Apparently it was looked at, but it still blinked on and off so I never used it, which was a little inconvenient when it was darker near the closet. I also felt the lobby lacked seating, amenities or places to just gather and chat like you see in many other hotels. The area coming out of the elevators on the 2nd floor was confusing at first because it ends up in the dining area that was sometimes roped off. Just an unusual set up. But truly the location is ideal if you are coming to and from the convention center or public transit. I did not use it, but people in my group were raving about the YMCA Fitness center on the 3rd floor. I also called, after returning home, because I thought I left my prescription glasses. Aye, not impressed. Main entry drive is not monitored enough and quickly becomes a logjam. Elevators are dated but worse, light fixtures full of bugs. Room felt updated but aesthetic left a lot to be desired. Were they catering to 90's era bankers? Who knows. The breakfast buffet was decent and the staff down there were very nice. It was well staffed and all were helpful. It was convenient how the hotel is connected to the mall area. I am still kind of figuring my way through Charlotte, but that seems to be pretty common and is actually kind of a neat element. The elevator cabs were extremely dated and really need to be cleaned up and freshened up. I think the condition of the common area is just overall left the experience to feel a little dreary. Checked in on 5/21/2026. Digtal key was not accessible once room was upgraded. Front desk could not correct the issue nor could Hilton honors. Also, was not able to access the link to request my car when needed to leave. It's not really a Hilton. It's more of a Hilton gardens. If you stayed at both you'll know what I'm talking about. Like I ordered room service and they delivered it not on a cart but in to-go containers. I still paid for room service but in plastic to-go containers. I tried to charge my phone at an outlet bank and the plug kept falling out of the wall because the outlets were so old. The lobby while nice The furniture is a little run down. The location is awesome and the staff is even better. But definitely not up to what most people would consider a Hilton property. read more

It has a great location, friendly staff, and I loved its aesthetic as well, with the grand staircase in the lobby, and then the purple color scheme in the hallways and rooms. This was the best New Year's Eve party ever, but I have to say the topper was the next morning. I, as I'm sure many party goers, was in desperate need of Alka Seltzer. I went to use the lobby vending machine and it did not recognize my phone number. I went to the desk to have Sarah check my phone number, only to learn there was no phone on file for me. She updated that and I went to make another attempt. Still no go. I went back to ask where is the nearest pharmacy and amped out in the cold before it dawned on me that today is New Year's day and nothing is open. I went back to ask Sarah to recheck that she entered my phone correctly. She patiently checked that, then went to the vending machine with me to assist. Sarah was very patient with me and such a pleasure to interact with. This type of customer service has escaped so many hotels, and it was great to see it was not lost here. This Hotel is awesome and the staff are great. Stay was just for one night, Saturday, in April 2026. Room was the 22nd floor giving us access to the 22nd floor lounge. Room was clean with a great view. Plenty of room for suitcases and storage for longer stays. Lounge was very nice; great view and seating, room for working if desired, and food and snacks were good. Breakfast at the Coastal Kitchen & Bar was buffet style; eggs were freshly made and not dry, bacon was a bit darker then I prefer, lots of fresh fruit and meat selections. The Hilton Charlotte is in the best location and has an amazing view and honestly that is the best thing about. This hotel boasts standard accommodations and is truly nothing to write home about. We stayed on the 22nd floor which boasts as a premium level and features the premium lounge. This premium lounge served the worst clearly microwaved hors d'oeuvres every evening. This Hilton lounge let me know that yes indeed it is possible to mess up a chicken quesadilla. Lastly, a front desk person let me know that my credit could be applied to parking so we refrained from eating at any of the restaurants on site. This information was incorrect so it was incredible frustrating to be told such information by an employee especially when street parking was free that day and parking was an additional $24 dollars a day. Overall would I stay here again? If someone else was paying. read more

Now I've been a competitors hotel chain's client for many many years, and this stay may make me switch to Hilton. Ekram and Julia at the front desk provide effortless hospitality and efficient checkin. For those guests with elite status, they also offer lounge access, $15 credit and breakfast included with your stay (based on your elite tier of course). What's more is that there is YMCA and Planet Fitness in the immediate vicinity that is also available as an amenity. The hotel is grandiose without being stuffy and I'm just really grateful for the quality of the rooms as well as the caliber of employees. I think you'll enjoy your stay too! read more

What kind of shabby hotel doesn't offer free WiFi in the rooms to guests. One star at best.

I had a free night certificate that was expiring and so here we are on a weekend night. Warmly welcomed at the front desk and my Hilton Diamond status was recognized. I was thanked for my business and provided two key cards. I also was provided a voucher towards breakfast (not enough to cover it, thanks). The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. I don't believe that I got any sort of comped upgrade, just what I reserved with the certificate. The executive lounge is nice but there was nothing there other than a few bags of chips and a fridge with soft drinks. Definite disappointment. Parking here is not cheap. $34 for valet parking or $24 for self parking. That's... wow. Check a parking app for nearby lots that are cheaper. Overall, just "OK." A wonderful place to stay. The rooms were very clean and had great views of the city. The hotel is connected to the skyway, making it easy to walk to the nearby building without stepping outside. Along the skyway, there are great breakfast/ lunch options making it a convenient grab and go option. The hotel also has a great gym option at a nearby facility. They have a green space/ dedicated rest area located outside the hotel which makes for a great space to enjoy the outdoors. The employees were friendly and helpful answering questions. read more

Very nice, clean upscale hotel. The staff were friendly. Interacted with Sam the valet who was perfect and welcoming as the face of the hotel. Front desk was efficient, I do wish they would have given us more information about the hotel. For instance had no idea how to order room service and had to locate the restaurant/bar on our own. Picture on the booking site show a pool but I have no idea if it exists. And apparently you can access the YMCA but again this information wasn't shared with us. The room was clean and sufficient for our stay. Housekeeping is on request for short stays which was fine by me. The hotel seems to be in the heart of the city and within walking distance of many restaurants and attractions including Bank of America Stadium. Upon or arrival it was easy to find the parking garage right next to the main entrance. When you pull in you can go straight to self park or turn left and get valet parking. We chose o self park seeing the sign that it was $10 on weekends. Parking was easy as the garage was fairly empty. Following the signs, we took an elevator and one flight of stairs to reach the front desk. Check in was quick and easy, but this was where we were told breakfast was not included in our stay. Not the biggest deal, probably my fault I didn't make sure it was while booking the hotel. But then the receptionist told me parking was actually $20 for our one night stay which was slightly annoying seeing as the sign out front said $10. They put a $50 incidental charge on my card and told me my parking fee would come out of it. We were placed in a room on the 16th floor, which we kind of had to assume because they only gave us a room number that started with 16 and didn't specify the floor number. When we found our room I wasn't disappointed but I wasn't impressed either. I expected a decent view being in the 16th floor but it was just the roof of an adjacent building. The bathroom did not have a lock on the door and the latch could be moved so the door would be able to be just pushed open when closed without touching the handle. When scrolling through the TV channels it appeared that a lot of the ones I had selected were not included in the hotels cable package. The night was the worst part for me. The in room thermostat seemed to be just for show as when we arrived back from our event that night it was very hot. We changed the thermostat from 70 degrees to 60 in hopes of cooling the room off quick. It didn't feel like the temperature changed at all throughout the night. As if that wasn't enough, the bed was not very comfortable. It took me a few hours to finally fall asleep. It seemed like as soon as I did, the in room alarm clock started blaring even though neither of us had even touched it before then. After struggling to shut it off, I heard the alarm clocks in other nearby rooms going off for the next few minutes as well. It wasn't all bad though. The TV, although a lot of stations were inaccessible, was large and of good quality. The bathroom was rather clean and the shower was more than adequate. It had one fixed shower head and another removable shower head that was attached to a hose you could move freely. There also was a book in the room all about Charlotte and things to do there if you are not familiar with the area which o thought was a nice feature. Overall not the worst hotel experience I've had but I definitely will be trying a different hotel if I stay in Charlotte again. read more

I was checked into a hotel room without clean, usable water. The water in the toilet, sink, and shower were all yellowish-brown. When I inquired with the front desk, one of the staff members was upfront about the water issue affecting the rooms on one side of the hotel. Despite this, a second staff member offered to put us in another room (same room type) on the same floor/side of the hotel. When we declined, it was then he mentioned the only other option, which was to put us in a same room type on a higher floor (executive floor). We agreed and transferred our belongings to the next room, only to discover the toilet in that room made loud sounds which kept us up throughout the night. We did notify the staff of this issue at checkout. As a customer and Diamond member, I expect through brand loyalty to be treated with a level of respect and being placed into a room without clean water (a basic necessity) was unacceptable. The only great moments of my stay were the proximity to attractions in Uptown and the degree of guest servicing in housekeeping, the restaurant and the lounge. The staff in those areas deserve a raise for keeping this hotel's customer service afloat. If you decide to stay at this hotel, here's hoping you're checked into a room on the "good side" of the floor, if there even is one. read more

Work booked this for me so I don't know costs but accommodations were fine. The best thing about this spot is the location - has an entrance to connect directly to the convention center and light rail, around the corner from the spectrum center, nascar hall of fame, basically most of the uptown sites a short walk away. While they have a restaurant, 2 computers to use and print from (30 min limit), casual food pick up spot, and gym access via the ymca, there is no pool, not even a lobby bathroom to use. The rooms themselves I appreciate that they have a fridge, coffee maker, TV, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, and lotion but no microwave, no comfy robe. Revising my review because Hilton complained about the last one. Obviously they do not want the TRUTH to come out. Here is the edited version to make it a bit more palatable, even though my visit was FAR FROM PALATABLE. Worst customer service at a Hilton in a long time. Stayed here for a few days for a football game and after the game shortly after our checkout, I needed to change my clothing and take some medicine. Ask the kid A_____ (name hidden to protect HIS privacy, you will know him when you see him the condescending attitude is very obvious) at the front desk if I could sit in the executive lounge for 30 minutes because I was overheated and needed to sit and cool off, and he told me I could just take my clothes out of my suitcase on the floor next to the front desk in the middle of the lobby or use the business center which was a desk with a computer on it in the MIDDLE OF THE LOBBY. Rude. Beyond Rude really. Wow Hilton. Don't you train your people anymore?? Clearly Diamond status means nothing to this particular franchise. Nobody even mentioned that when I checked in so maybe they do not honor status in this Hilton, who knows? Guess i should go to Marriott from now on. They treat you well, would never try to humiliate you in the lobby telling you to just take your clothes out on the FLOOR. The Young Man at the front desk is poorly trained, was downright condescending and rude, was obviously disdainful, and doesn't belong in the industry! Shame on you Hilton. Last time I checked this was the "HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY". Additionally, so they stopped giving out free breakfast. NOW, they give you a $15.00 credit for up to 2 people ONLY in your 1st room. Well the breakfast buffet is $18.00 plus tip plus tax so approximately $24.00 if you do not have a beverage with it. So now you have to pay for what was always free. Worse, they were too busy to take us the morning we left, so we could not even use the $30 credit we had. Tried to use it later they had already checked me out, so they offer the credit and then snatch it back. The "executive Lounge" is literally an empty room with a refrigerator with some soda in it, and a few jars of peanuts and bar mix. That is IT!! It is very sad and pathetic. Why even bother, it is an embarrassment to Hilton to offer that up. To sum it up I should have read the review before booking and went to the Hilton Garden Inn or maybe Ill just change to a Mariott account top tier membership. I have been to Hiltons all over the world and this ranks in the bottom 2. SHAME ON YOU HILTON. Normally when I'm in Charlotte for work I stay at the Embassy Suites Uptown. They were fully booked though, so I decided to give this hotel a shot. It seemed like a good choice at first. It's in a convenient location, they have self parking and the restaurant workers are lovely. The interior is unattractive, but it's clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, there are some serious issues with the property. The biggest issue is the water pressure. Or lack of water pressure, I should say because there isn't any. My coworker is staying here on a different floor and they're having the same problem. I can't get the conditioner out of my hair, so it's pretty gross after 3 days. I can't wait to check out tomorrow. The walls are paper thin. The people in the room next to me are currently having a conversation. They're not being loud or obnoxious, they're just talking, but I can hear every word as if they were sitting on my bed. There's a connecting door that the sound is carrying through so perhaps that's not an issue in other rooms, but it's pretty wild that I'm hearing them so clearly. It's not even muffled. The elevator situation leaves a lot to be desired. It feels like there's only ever one or two elevators running. It takes a long time to move through the hotel. Finally, and this might just be me being petty, this is the first Hilton I've been to that refuses to give water to their Honors members. After checking in, I was told that the hotel didn't give out water. When I pointed out that I was a gold member (something I've never once had to say at another Hilton) they said there would be two bottles in my room. I'd been to my room and there was only one so I asked for the second. The woman working at reception basically implied I was lying before reluctantly giving me a second bottle. Most Hiltons will give you water without even asking about your status, but this woman acted like I was asking for her kidney. This was a small thing, but it left a really negative impression. Nice location. Have stayed here many times... here again tonight and on reoccurring issue this hotel has is HOT ROOMS. The AC systems do not seem to be maintained well. My room is at least mid 70s right now... not the Hilton standard. I looked at the filter in the room and it's been a while since even that was changed. November 2021. Those should be serviced at least every 30 days. I can't imagine when the Freon was serviced. This filter is completely filthy. Room is warm. Not happy as a Lifetime Diamond Member. read more

The room was on the 20th floor and had a nice view. The room was not huge but big enough for two people for a night. They must have recently upgraded since everything seemed pretty new. The bed was comfortable. The shower was upgraded and the tv was large. What else do you need. The bar was also nice for a drink as a night cap. read more

I stayed a week at this Hilton, and I can say I was very satisfied at all levels. Very clean, Many conference areas. The breakfast buffet was great as it had made-to-order omelets and if you are a Hilton member and get the $15 a day toward food, your meal is almost paid for. Great way to start the day :) The only issue I had was that regardless of how I tried, and I could NEVER get the room to be as cool as I liked it. I had it set to 60 every day, and I had only to use the sheet to cover when sleeping as it was not cool enough. The hallway was perfectly cold, and that's what I wanted in my room, but it just would not work, so that was a bit of a pain all week. The staff was also very friendly, and housekeeping was VERY GOOD when needed. It is situated in a great location, and there are plenty of good food choices to walk to. You just need the Yelp app to find your way. Also, the price was cheaper than a block down. Overall, a good experience, and I would stay again and recommend it to all. read more

We stayed here for 5 nights in May 2023. The elevators didn't work for *several* days and we had to walk up and down 16 flights of stairs to get back and forth to our room. The manager, Trey Simmons, reached out once to say that bonus points would be applied to my account. After 5 months and a couple of unanswered emails, I never received any bonus points (and there should be a LOT of bonus points. Again, all elevators were down for DAYS), nor an email response. After leaving a Google Maps review I did hear back. I was offered a 1/2 a night of points. After months of no response, having to leave a review to get a response, and hiking up and down 16 flights of stairs multiple times over multiple days, 1/2 a night was all I'm worth to Hilton Charlotte Uptown. read more

Had a great stay here while in Charlotte on business for a week. The staff was very attentive and helpful the entire stay. The room was well appointed, and the bathroom was extremely updated with glass shower doors. The views from the room were awesome, didn't realize how far Charlotte has come as a city. The room had a nice 50 inch tv that I was easily able to connect my roku player to. It was a bit of a pain to have to repurchase wifi each and every night however. I had to disconnect all of my devices, repurchase wifi for the next 24 hrs, and reconnect all of them each night. That was a pain as they definitely need an option to purchase premium wifi for the duration of your stay. I would be watching a show on my roku player, only for it to go zap right in the middle of the show. Big time pain each night. It was also inconvenient to have to call to ask for housekeeping each day. A hotel of this caliber should automatically clean your room each day without the guest having to ask. This is the first hotel I've ever stayed in that made their guest ask for housekeeping services each day. The female valet attendant that works daytime was outstanding. She was always at the valet desk and never went missing. The male valet staff that work in the evenings/nights were constantly mia and hard to find each day. Not sure what the deal was with them, but I had issues finding them each day. I even had to leave my car keys at the front desk multiple times since they were no where to be found when I would return. All in all, I did enjoy my stay in spite of the minor issues I encountered. The location was excellent and a very short courtyard walk over to the connected Wells Fargo building each day. Hopefully some of these issues are fixed when I return later this year. read more

So I recently attending an event at this location so its just from that standpoint. I did not check in any room so I don't have any information/opinion on their rooms. What I will say, the place is absolutely gorgeous. The space is massive. I have never been inside but I was immediately impressed by the size and cleanliness of the space. When you walk in you immediately see these long escalators that go on forever. Man, I hope they never break down because that would be a pain to have to walk. Anyway, the staff that I encountered were really nice. The staff that did the clean up while the even took place were fast and efficient. Can I just say that I was impressed by the bathroom? I know right!! So when you wash your hands that individual dyer is to the left of the water. Once your hands get dry, you get a blue illumination that states dry. So neat...You can tell I was totally impressed. Anyway, the space was very accommodating for this event. You can tell its well cared for and the staff takes pride in keeping their space clean and neat. read more

A short and sweet stay at the Hilton Charlotte. It's in the heart of Uptown and you are a stones throw away from lots of great bars, restaurants and shops. Clean and spacious rooms and a super comfy bed. What more could you ask for? The bathroom was also extremely sleek and modern -- loved the fancy black marble shower! Often times in hotels this large the wait for an elevator can be a pain but that was not the case here. During my two night stay I did not have to wait for an elevator once. The concierge was also extremely sweet and friendly. Bonus points for a delicious onsite bar / restaurant. I enjoyed a few cocktails and a sandwich at Coastal and everything was fab. There is also a courtyard with a barbershop + gift shop. If I found myself back in Charlotte I would stay here again for sure! read more

The Hilton located in the heart of Downtown Charlotte (I learned they call downtown "uptown" in CLT) treated me kindly for 48 hours. The hotel is so grand that Nikki W. of Yelp Charlotte fame threw a massive fundraiser last Friday night that was beyond epic! Strictly on the business side of things, all major amenities are accounted for. Consistent WiFi, comfortable beds, soothing showers, a large restaurant/bar open from breakfast to midnight cocktails, and a prime location if you're not local. It really doesn't take much to please me, but I genuinely appreciate the kind front desk staff when I arrived. The first floor of the hotel is actually very small. You'll find the restaurant, a barber shop (say whaaaat?!), an outdoor courtyard area and a convenience style store on the second floor. Plus, you're walking distance to an abundance of shops, restaurants, venues, bars, etc. I would totally recommend anyone to stay at the Hilton Charlotte City Center. Kudos! read more

The lobby was opulent and the staff at the Coastal Kitchen and Bar which was the restaurant that was located on the hotel's premises was so courteous and respectful. As a guest with a disability, I was so impressed with the fact that one of the staff members helped me get food from the buffet, which would have been a difficult ordeal for me otherwise, because I traveled alone. I had a good stay here--I LOVE that their gym is a real YMCA gym. It honestly made me motivated to get up and workout instead of picturing a dinky little gym that they have at most hotels. I booked the king room and my room was situated on the 14th floor. The room was fantastic. Clean, modern, and had a fantastic view over charlotte. The rooms were big for city standards. I can't complain about this hotel. The gym was great, the rooftop bar nearby was fantastic, and all of the facilities were clean and modern. The location is good, at least for what I was in town for. Late check out was till 12 only. I had to pay $50 for 3pm checkout, which I've never experienced at any other hotel. This is one of the best hotels in uptown. It's in a great location; walking distance to EpiCenter, Spectrum Center, Bank of America Stadium, BB&T Ballpark and the Convention Center. The access to everything great but right in the lobby is a pretty awesome restaurant, Coastal Kitchen Bar and Grill. You must try the deep fries deviled egg and a cocktail or two. Ask for a room facing uptown on a high floor so you can see the city skyline. read more

Booked a king room online for 2 nights for roughly 800.00 When I checked in they said they were now sold out and only had a double queen room for me for 1,000.00 Very upsetting to have booked and paid for a room that they then sold and made me pay extra for a room I didn't want. read more

I stayed here for the first time for a friend's birthday party. I give it an "average" rating. I've stayed at nicer hotels and I've stayed at hotels that weren't as nice as this one. So it's average to me. Due to Covid, the store in the hotel (where you might purchase toothpaste if you forgot it) was closed. The staff was very nice and the parking was okay. You park in a parking deck adjacent to the hotel and it's $20 per day. The location of the hotel is great - right downtown (or uptown as they say in Charlotte). I took a one mile walk one morning and saw most of downtown. The next time I visit Charlotte I will probably try a different hotel to see is any "wow" me. This one was average. read more

Great location nice hotel. The staff was fabulous. Now I need at least 85 characters for it to post.

Me and wife stepped out for an event at Hilton city center. The people working there was really professional and nice to everyone in attendance. The event was full and the vendors were fantastic. I can't say enough about the staff, they were very nice, helpful and stayed having a smile on their face. To my surprise I as saw that they had a full basketball court and olympic size pool. I would suggest this hotel to anyone coming in town. read more
