HUGE hotel. I have to admit, it was a bit overwhelming at first but beautiful building with great lobby music and nice, responsive staff. Check in process was very smooth. I was given room 609 on the 401 side. I mention this because when I walked in, there was a moldy smell and a dark spot on the wall paper. I called the front desk and within 10 minutes had a new mold free room and I was good to go. The staff really are the standout of this hotel. Very prompt, very courteous. Someone checked in via text to make sure I was good. The bed felt good. Everything was clean. The shower pressure was great. When I checked out, I headed to the Provisions cafe in the lobby. I stayed her for a conference earlier in the week. Several things could have been better: (1) Tell me about the room power on/off switch. I didn't know about it and thought there were only two working power outlets. (2) I could never connect to wifi in the room. I usually bring an USB-C to Ethernet dongle and Ethernet cable. (3) The Internet was very poor in the hotel. It was also very poor for the TV. Try watching sports and have a freeze every 30 seconds. It was better in the meeting rooms. Good stuff (1) The gym in the second building (402?) was OK. It was not just a converted hotel room (2) N High Street was fun to check out. Lots of good restaurants and bars. read more

I've stayed here previously and it was again a solid experience. I like the location, was in the tower with a room that had a nice view to the west, it was overall clean and comfortable. I'm happy to report that this place was quiet at night. The lighting behind the mirror in the bathroom had an intermittent wonky blinky thing going on which was kind of annoying. Shower was a good size and the water heated up quickly. The towels were middle grade - clean, but thin. The fridge had the feeling of cool, but never quite got to fridge cold. There is a decided lack of convenient breakfast/cafe options nearby (obvi not the fault of the hotel) so the little coffee shop was busy in the mornings. Coffee was better there than at Starbucks and they had a fun little breakfast sandwich on a croissant bun which I enjoyed on a couple of mornings. Had a ton of fun in the hotel bar pretty much every night I was there. Marcus made our group feel welcome and well taken care of. I really liked being able to check in before I got there and I exclusively used the key from the app which I found easy and convenient. read more

If you have to go to the Columbus Convention Center, then the Hilton is one of the best options. It has a modern decor, good restaurants and bars, and you can get to the convention center without going outside, which is nice if you don't want your feathery suede cotton-candy Wonder Woman outfit to get wet on a rainy day. This actually at least two buildings as there's the hotel where you check in and park and all that jazz, then there's another hotel across the street, which you can get to via a skyway across one of the downtown Columbus streets. There's also a restaurant or two there as well. Rooms were nice in the "old" hotel (the one I was in) and I didn't have any problems and slept pretty well. The pillows were acceptable and my room actually had a desk which seems to be something I've been having trouble with lately. I'd stay here again if I was coming to the Convention Center. I'd come back just to eat at that FYR restaurant. Great experience all around there. I only wish there was a Piada close by... read more

My boyfriend made a reservation for Saturday. We tried checking in at 2:45, 15 minutes early before check in. I didn't expect a room. They said the most available room will be at 3:30. Seems a bit bizarre, when check in is at 3:00. Why the wait? No explanation provided. My boyfriend being a Hilton Honors Rewards member and just ethical check in time, I expected better. What if I really banked on checking in at 3? We were there for a wedding so I am really happy I didn't need the room to get ready. Guess whose room wasn't ready till 4:00 PM?!!! Very irrational, very disrespectful. When you are paying $500 for a room in downtown Columbus, more needs to be done. They said they would text us when a room is ready. We finally walked up at 4, a whole 30 minutes after they told us to expect a room initially and an hour after the advertised check in time for guests, a room becomes magically ready. I don't know if they forgot or what. But with 5 people standing up there at the front desk, you think it would be better organized logistically. Room was nice. Room was clean. We just spent six nights there for a convention. Our travels are all out of our own pocket, so we value great service and the feeling that we're getting our money's worth, and this Hilton excelled in these. Because of our busy schedule, all the meals we ate there were in the Sparx lobby bar in the 402 tower. It wasn't fine dining, more like pub food, but the smash burger, and the fries that accompany it, were especially good. I ordered it twice while we were there, and I even ate every fry the second time, which isn't at all usual for me. By the time we left, several of the bartenders were like family to us. They all also seemed to enjoy working with each other, which is huge to us. Even with large crowds dispersing at the same time from our events, the elevators handled the high traffic well and cleared quickly. This is also huge for us at this type of event. The only thing lacking were handicapped-accessible front doors - there were no automatic door buttons, which surprised me in a hotel this large and well-appointed. I use a mobility scooter at these events with a lot of walking, and had to wait each time I went in or out for someone to come and hold the door. Fortunately it was only an inconvenience because there was usually someone nearby who could help, but again, I was surprised. Our room on the 14th floor was roomy and nice, the bed was comfortable, and we loved the little touches like power drapes, an auto-sensor on the bathroom light, and the extra plug and usb port built into each nightstand. This is really a great place to stay, and I enjoy frequenting this specific Hilton. The staff are eager to help with any of your concerns, and you have a live person to answer the phone 24/7. There is an indoor pool/whirlpool which I can appreciate. The fitness room is top of the line, and is adjacent to the indoor pool. There is more than one lobby, and this location actually has two separate hotel buildings, joined by a bridge. The Convention Center is located in between the two. read more

I come to Columbus and few times a year. This year I got to stay at the 402. The hotel is very nice. The rooms are nice size, comfortable and nicely appointed. The closet has light that turn on, when you open the door. The shower has a very intuitive design. Instead of the controls being under the shower head, it's on the opposite wall. This way, you don't have to stick your arm into the cold (or hot) water, to control the temperature. It's a beautiful hotel and my stay was enjoyable. read more

I stayed here for 3 nights for a conference. The conference food was very good, the rooms were clean, quiet and a nice sized. It was also easy to navigate to and from my room and the conference space. The hotel is conveniently located near a lot of great bars and restaurants and only about 10 minutes from the airport. Only reason for 4 stars is due to smaller things like 3 outlets in my room not working but I would recommend whether staying for business or personal travel! read more

I enjoyed a stay in the downtown Hilton for a conference in mid-June 2025. Lots of pluses. First, the location is right next to the convention center and has meeting rooms on the lower level. Second, it's just a few minutes walk from the Short North area (with nice coffee shops, Goodale Park, and a variety of restaurants). Or you can walk for 10-15 minutes south to the Ohio Statehouse which is past the Nationwide Business Center. Third, the room interiors seem to have been recently renovated. Fourth, it has a decent fitness center. Self-parking was $25 per night without in-and-out privileges. read more

We really enjoyed our stay here in the new tower. The views were incredible, comfy and clean beds, bath products all stellar. I took my teenage daughter and her friend and we felt very safe here. We noticed ample security and there was always a staff nearby it seemed! You have to do the breakfast buffet, it was phenomenal. The location can't be beat. We walked to the arena for a concert, there's a pizza place right outside (Mikey's Late Night Slice), so many little local diners right there within walking distance. We had car trouble on the way there and ended up needing a late checkout for the next day due to changes in our plans, the front desk was so accommodating! read more

The Hilton Columbus Downtown is one of the pricier options in downtown Columbus, but the view is beautiful. My significant other is obsessed with a good view and downtown twinkle, so this is our go to hotel for a staycation or celebratory holiday. The room decor is nothing to talk about but the room does have a small refrigerator. Please do not book this hotel with an excitement for the indoor pool because it's extremely disappointing (there is one tiny pool for both sides of the hotel and I do not recommend swimming) They do not offer robes for in room use which I found to also be disappointing as there's typically a price tag of multiple hundred dollars for weekend nightly rate (on the renovated side of the hotel) Outside of the view the highlight of this hotel is the room service!! I kid you not the room service is superior. Pictured is my go to the turkey club sandwich which features thick bacon, artesian multigrain bread that's perfectly toasted with griddled turkey, gruyère cheese and a creamy aioli. The fries are fresh cut and delicious; try them with the housemade ranch. The cesar salad dressing is also housemade and something to experience. If you're a foodie wanting to get away or in town for a conference or sporting event this hotel is a good pick. read more

You almost fooled me into thinking I was in for a five-star stay. But then I met your room service. Let's talk in-room dining, shall we? Imagine paying premium prices for what I can only describe as an elementary school field trip lunch--delivered in a paper bag, complete with paper coffee cups that screamed "budget motel" more than "downtown Hilton." I half expected a juice box and a sticker. The food portions? Let's just say I spent more calories opening the bag than I consumed from what was in it. The coffee was... an insult to caffeine. And the fruit? Moldy. As in, actual mold. Apparently, I missed the fine print on the menu that said, "Now serving penicillin." Parking? Also mildly irritating. You'll either have to do valet or hike a bit, which is fine if you're here for a workout, but slightly less charming if you're hauling luggage or wrangling kids. Overall, if you're here for the building and the smiles at the front desk, great. If you're planning to eat anything in-room, maybe... don't. Go find literally any café nearby. Or chew on your shoe. Really not a great stay and definitely won't be back. First off they should tell you which tower you are in so you go to the correct garage or valet and don't have to walk a quarter mile to the other side. I bought a standard king and room is super small. The rooms are like a sauna and you can't turn on the AC and heat only goes down to 68. The walls are paper thin you can hear others talking/TV or you know what. Also the area is pretty sketchy and if you are waiting sleep don't stay on the High Street side, it's super loud and you'll be kept by all kinds of sirens all night. Oh and the bed/sheets smelled horrible and for some reason my phone didn't work. I expect more out Hilton as a lifetime diamond member but again I won't be back read more

We were checking in and the room was stuck on 99 degrees. Got pushed over to this other Hilton. The process was at least an hour and staff were more concerned with correct process of transfer and not the fact that it is now 3am. The process was terrible and staff didn't really care much. The hotel staff were friendly, courteous and attentive. It started with check-in, then on to Stories on High with a wonderful panoramic view of the city, and perfectly balanced cocktails - specifically the Old Fashioned. From Stories on High, down to the outstanding restaurant - FYR. The food was presented in a picturesque manner, delicious to the pallet, and accompanied by flavorful wines. Then onto our hotel room - comfortable, spacious, with exquisite views of downtown Columbus. All in all the stay was memorable and we look forward to returning soon. read more

I see no value for the money here.. no microwave in room. You have to pay extra for that. Really paying extra for microwave with the cost of this hotel??? At first we thought there was no refrigerator in the room but it is cumbersome and hard to find.. Room is small. We have to pay for parking and breakfast is not included. However the lobby is beautiful. Hung out with my family here and they what extremely disappointing for what we paid. So many other hotels that have better quality for investment. I wouldn't stay here for 50 bucks. So many better options in Columbus. Thinking about coming to Columbus Try the hotels near the airport, you may get better results. The few good things about the hotel is that it is near the convention center, and does have a pool. But I just don't see the return on investment. read more

This was one of the preferred hotels for this year's Galaxycon, which offered a discounted rate and perks for the convention if guests stayed here. Given the fact that it is connected to the convention center was enough to get us to stay here. I honestly have no complaints... We really enjoyed our stay! The hotel felt very upscale and nice, and the rooms were really great for the price. There were also tons of amenities - restaurants, bars, a pool, gym... and plenty within a close walking distance outside. This is a really great hotel to stay at for events going on at the convention, or even if you are just visiting Columbus and plan to do a lot downtown! read more

I moved to this hotel after a terrible experience at another local hotel. When i arrived, the pleasant front desk clerk checked me in and welcomed me to their hotel. I stayed 2 nights and it was a very nice place. It is attached to the convention center, this was a huge plus for me since i was attending a conference there. I had lunch at one of the restaurants on site and it was very good. If i have to come back to Columbus for any reason, i will be staying here. read more

Amazing service and a beautiful hotel. It is a great location convenient to the Convention Center, Short North Arts District, Arena District, and downtown Columbus. I booked our room through the Hilton Honors App and was able to save on a great Park and Save Rate that included Valet. Check in was at 3pm and we just pulled up, took out the bags and walked in. Check in was friendly and easy and was able to secure a Hilton Honors upgrade to a higher floor. We stayed in Room 1216. I felt the bed area was kind of small but pleased with the overall room including a very nice shower, bathroom, room furniture, and foyer. The bed was super comfortable and I slept so well. The view was OK but it was more of 670 (the inner belt) and the arena. If you put your face to the glass and looked back to the left you could see the AEP building. But the only serious critiques are that the bathroom sliding door did not close properly, and most importantly, there were no USB charging plugs in the room. The center of the hotel is open and it's impressive during the day but looks spectacular in the evening. We were able to enjoy both the whirlpool and pool, during the stay. It did have a gym but didn't get a chance to use it. In addition, we did use the sky bridge over to the convention center a few times and it was really cool to look up and down high street. Gallerie Bar and Grill is also located in the hotel and has a good breakfast buffet but would recommend the Chicken and Waffles. I did want to highlight - All the staff was great but Saron went above and beyond. She even found antacids when the hotel was out and we forgot to pack ours. She literally saved the evening and a trip back out. Not only was she empathetic to the situation but offered exceptional service. Went beyond what would even be expected. In addition to Saron, I really appreciate Christine S. was so helpful upon arrival and with a higher floor upgrade and with a late checkout. Carlie was also super friendly and brightened up the day as we would come and go from the hotel, and Tara was really helpful as well. A great team. Every single person from the valet to housekeeping greeted you and were nice. Even though I get they offer the same service to all, it was the first time I really felt appreciated as a Diamond member. In fact this has been the only Hilton hotel since early 2021 to acknowledge Hilton Honors. Really happy we chose to stay here for a little staycation, even living a mile and a half away. I would recommend this hotel not only for environment, ambiance, and layout, but for impeccable service and the amazing staff as well. read more

Just stayed at the Hilton Downtown Columbus. Experienced their bar on the 28th floor - stunning views and excellent service. Attended convention area and found seating comfortable - easy to find your way around - and the food very good. As stated in other reviews - excellent location to shops and restaurants in Short North area. Room: Comfortable but very small. Small refrigerator worked so well that my drinks were frozen by morning. Room Service: Food arrived in boxes and cold. Brought coffee carafe and no cups. This Hilton is by far one of the best ones I've ever stayed at. It's not just in terms of looks and character, which it has plenty of, but in customer service as well. Let's start with the decor. The lobby is beautiful. There are many scenic places to take pictures, get work done and just hang out if you need to wait for someone. There are winding stairs as well that looks so grand and perfect for photo shoots. The second floor houses the restaurant and it is a sight to behold. It has an open floor concept and if you are on the higher floors in the hotel, you get great views of the entire restaurant, which has no roof and would be great for some aerial shots. The bedrooms are well-designed, with outlets across the entire space of the room. Some are even hidden in the work table, and the wall by the beds. The beds are comfy, but for the price I wish they were a bit roomier. The customer service is the best reason to stay here. The staff are super friendly! They have masks on hand for you, they will text you to see how your stay is going and help you make any adjustments possible without having to call the front desk. They will even make deliveries to the room if you request it by text. Ryan and his team were wonderful. They moved our room so we can have connecting rooms, even when our first room was not connected. The suite for the bride was also placed on a really high floor as requested, AND they allowed the decor staff to come in with whatever they needed to, which included a full love seat that had to be hauled into the suite! They also allowed us to check out a bit later so we could remove all the stuff we had taken into the room, which was a great help. The only two gripes I had were the size of the regular rooms (for the price) and the price for valet parking (a bit too expensive). Loved it! read more

900th Review woohoo! I came to the Hilton Columbus Downtown as I was attending a work conference. The conference was being held at the Greater Columbus Convention Center. This hotel is perfect to stay at if you have a conference there. It has an elevated covered bridge/walk way connecting the hotel to the convention center. That is incredibly convenient to have. Talking about convenience, there is a well stocked convenience store called Provisions on High which has sodas, ice cream, coffee, and other snacks to purchase. It also has an amazing restaurant/bar called Gallerie Bar & Bistro. The bar seemed to always be full every night, and with good reason. It is comfortable, and the staff are attentive. I cannot talk about the food except I had some breakfast there one morning, delicious! One of the best hotel breakfast buffets I have ever had. The hotel lobby is also beautiful. The rooms... are ok but a bit spartan in its looks. Not a lot of decor on the tables or walls... which then startlingly clashes with a very colorful piece of modern art that is on the ceiling of your room. I don't mind the art or that its on the ceiling just that it doesn't make sense with the rest of the room. My other gripe with the hotel is parking. $32 dollars for parking? You should still pay for it because if not its a long walk to Vine Street parking garage. Great hotel but with a few flaws. read more

One star because it will not allow negative five. This place may be the reason I never stay in a Hilton again. I am hungry as hell and they had told me 24 hour room service would be available. That was a lie!I I am positing this at 1 am tired, hungry and unable to sleep because the bed is worse than a city sidewalk. It's been a long while since I stayed awake 48 hrs at this point just hoping I make the drive home tomorrow alive with out falling asleep at the wheel. Wish I was allowed to self park I would go sleep in the car. Did I mention restroom was dirty as well, someone clearly don't like cleaning toilets. Guess I will flush the tips. First time for that to. At least the concert was good at the fair I guess. Looked for something positive to say couldn't find it at the hotel!!!!!!!! We had an excellent experience here May 29-29, 2023. EVERY employee was kind and helpful in EVERY situation. We had a member of our group with a walker, so the front desk staff and bell hop helped us get a room closer to elevators. During the night, one of us became ill which caused the need for early checkout to go home unexpectedly. Again, they all made our exit process kind and much easier. Highly recommended! read more

My boyfriend and I were in the back alley conning home from a date night looking at a rabbit and got flagged down by an "engineer" don't get excited, that's the name for the glorified clogged toilet solvers. He proceeded to yell at us, say we "released" an animal when I offered the info saying we stopped to look at the bunny and then called me a f****ing b**** and said he was going to take my boyfriends chain. Zero help from the "lead security" 10/10 would recommend for a terrible unsafe staff if that's what you're in the market for. Sadly you can't add videos here. Screenshots will have to do. read more

A beautiful hotel, in the perfect location. It's huge, so be prepared to do a lot of walking. I stayed in the newly renovated side of the hotel, and loved it. Slept like a baby my entire stay. There's a market nearby with tons of food vendors and a bar inside. This hotel couldn't have been in a better location. The only issue that I had is, upon arriving, my room wasn't ready and I had to wait over an hour for a room. I was compensated, with a $40 food voucher for the hotel. I would return in a heartbeat..staff were friendly..I enjoyed my stay. read more

Safe clean and well lit. The hilton is in an excellent location downtown, with a short walk to several restaurants. There are two buildings, with a bridge connecting the two. The room itself was clean and offered several above basic amenities, such as large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Clean fluffy towels, several pillows, a microwave, coffee maker, bountiful lighting, and an alarm clock with USB ports for charging your devices. The cons: the room only cools to 68 degrees. I'm an odd duck and need to sleep a little cooler, but not a deal breaker. During check in, they did not explain how to connect to the wi-fi (it's free if you're a Hilton Honors member, but who will remember this if they dont use it often?!). The door man on the last day helped me call an Uber to the airport. I wish I had gotten his name because he deserved a shout-out. The staff at the entire hotel were very kind, patient, and helpful. I'd love to spend one night in Paris, but failing that, this hotel will do. Despite the fact that I cannot afford a room here, I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place. First of all, they treated me wonderfully when I was a guest visitor into a beautiful girl's hotel room here not too horribly long ago. It was after my most recent Columbus concert on a warm evening. Very good memories. And more recently and even more surprisingly, in the middle of the night, after partying in Columbus, I was parked across from the Hilton and desperate, so I stumbled in here needing a bathroom. A lot of places would have turned me away at this crazy time of night, but they allowed me to go to the bathroom. Now granted, the bathroom was about half a mile through the building down a lot of corridors. But that just makes it more awesome that they allowed me in to use it. I was very very grateful, because I couldn't hold it much longer, and my car has had enough to deal with from cat doo-doo without having some extra stuff from a Fox too. read more

If you must stay at a large chain hotel, this is a nice one. The hotel is huge but conveniently located next to the convention center. Has serval bars and restaurants. The room I stayed in was on the 22nd floor. Quiet, comfortable bed, and Crabtree & Evelyn bath products. Room has safe, microwave, and mini refrigerator. Also has room darkening curtains and large tv. Nice walk in shower. Would stay here again if I was in town for a conference. Free internet. Lots of plug and usb charging ports which is nice. read more
