We were returning to Michigan from wintering in South Carolina. We needed an overnight stop and chose Worthington Ohio. We booked the Days Ann by Wyndham due to decent reviews. HUGE MISTAKE. Sooo we walked across the street to Hyatt Place. Just Wow! Friendly. Got us a decent last minute rate and the place is beautiful. Yes it was a bit more $ but the room was beautiful and the breakfast was great. They even have a baby bar area where I got a glass of wine after my terrible experience at Days Inn. I stayed here over the July 4th weekend, and it was a really dangerous experience. My car window was smashed and items were stolen from inside. In the morning, I saw that more than 10 other cars had been broken into as well. After doing some research, I found out this kind of thing has happened multiple times already this year. My husband and I stayed here for my birthday weekend. The manager helped my husband surprise me and decorated the room for my birthday and left some treats for me. My younger brother stayed at Hyatt Place for business. He came to Columbus in order to take classes and an exam for an insurance agents license. I dropped him off for his trip and then picked him up from here in order to start our family stay in Columbus. We stayed in another nearby hotel and i can bluntly say, I wish we would have stayed here as a family. The other hotel experience was pretty bad. While my brother stayed here, he enjoyed the hotel and the free breakfast it provided. His only gripes on the hotel were: 1) The coffee... he says it was supposed to be Starbucks but the coffee is the worst he's ever drank anywhere 2) the closet in the rooms are way too small 3) the bathroom is too small for a guy of his size I can confirm when I went to his room that the closet and bathrooms are way too small. That said, he said the hotel staff are courteous and the room was except for what was mentioned above, very comfortable. Solid place to stay if your in Columbus. read more

This was my first visit ever to Ohio and I stayed at the Hyatt Place hotel in the Worthington area. The Hyatt Place certainly met my expectations. It was clean and well organized. Would have been nice if the room had some, now fairly standard, antiseptic wipes available in the room. I did receive them while staying at other Hyatt properties. I have traveled and stayed in four different hotels this year and this was the first one, at the time of check-in, where they told me their housekeeping schedule. Basically, it's "on demand" and they asked a request given to the front desk the night before, so they are able to properly schedule. Room was quiet, clean and very pleasant for my stay. I only had a quick breakfast one morning during my three night stay. I went down to the breakfast area in the lobby and they had a selection of cereals, yogurts, biscuit sandwiches and beverages in a refrigerated glass case. You could select what you'd like and if the item needed to be heated, there were two microwaves available. I selected a "Bob Evans" biscuit sandwich with egg & sausage and heated it up for one minute. It was fine. Made me long for the "old days" pre-pandemic, as I'm certain it does everyone! This breakfast, although very limited, was the largest hotel breakfast selection I have seen since traveling this year. Clearly, they are trying very hard to return to some normalcy. Stayed here for 5 days for a conference in the area. Had a lovely king size bed, and a decent sized lounge and bar area. No tub though, but the shower was great. Breakfast available daily, the basics, had something for everyone for the most part. There's a small fitness center. Staff is friendly. I think your room only gets serviced every couple of days. read more

Great stay in a convenient location. Service was friendly and accommodating. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options. The room itself was oddly laid out. The bedroom and bathroom area were tight while offering all the space to the desk, bar and couch. A fridge and sink offered with no microwave. Tv is positioned between the two areas. The bathroom and shower are very small, it was hard to close the door once standing inside. Shower had great pressure though. No lotions are offered, but shampoo, conditioner and body wash are in the shower. Definitely bring your own. Area has lots of restaurants, we enjoyed Woody's. Overall decent. read more

I was at this hotel for three weeks solid for training in Columbus. Great hotel, and friendly staff. Breakfast was available in the glass counter at the front desk. Coffee, tea, juices, milk, cereal, fruit cup, nutrigrain bars, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, bananas, apples, and granola bars. My only complaint and why my four star review. I was not made aware by the staff they were having trees cut down in front with chainsaws early morning of a holiday. Also a bit frustrated my car was in the fall location of the trees. Taped off with my car in there. The other guests coming in for the night were aware. I'm glad the car was ok. All in all this is a good hotel!! read more

We were a large group and stayed there last night, I was a little disappointed, the place was extremely understaffed Something very weird happened to me, I went down to tell the front desk that the smoke alarm kept beeping all night and we weren't able to sleep, they said that there is not enough staff to get it taken of before the next and there solution was to give me a battery and ask me to change it my self, it was weird and funny to be asked to do that in a hotel room. Don't get me wrong the price of the rooms was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful but they were extremely understaffed and they were doing the best they could. Room was very nice and spacious but compared to other Hyatt hotels I've been in this one was definitely at the bottom of the list I would barely give it a 3 star rating read more

I went to my car. forgot my key and phone. told me I COULD NOT use the house phone and told a woman in her pajamas to go to the bar at the end of the street. do you understand the danger and alone woman going to a bar at 2 am would put me in?!! I had to call my sister in CALIFORNIA!!! the convince store people helped me get to the Hyatt. but. downtown. i. a 49 year old female. at now 4 am am stuck downtown Columbus. I saw a taxi driver and he told me there were at least 5 Hyatt. then was brilliant and told me to go in and see if they could find my reservation. please view these security cameras. that man at downtown Hyatt was so kind. did NOT understand why ELMON wouldn't help me. and found my reservation. and printed me off directions to the correct hotel. after 3 1/2 @430 m I arrived. I saw my best friend to my wedding and my fiance waiting for me and pulled up and cried harder than I've ever had. I will absolutely never stay at your hotel ever again. I experienced reverse racism. review the footage. he was showing off to his friends at the bar and this girl that was GETTING MARRRIED AT 9 AM NOW 430 AM. could have cared less. he did NOTHING BUT PUT ME IN SERIOUS DANGER. HORRIBLE I saw a bug in my bed and also the room was dusty. The elevator had this weird smell too, they also had only one elevator open for you to use. The receptionists were very kind it was just the room itself. The breakfast was horrible poorly seasoned I do not recommend going unless you want to see unwanted guests in your bed and unseasoned food. read more

Very comfortable beds await. Although a bit soft for stomach sleepers.... Plenty of space in your suite. Clean nice pillows and linens. The HVAC was loud. The hotel was quite quiet otherwise. I thought of the room HVAC system as a white noise machine. Breakfast was average. Maybe slightly disappointing as I like pancakes and waffles, of which they had none. When we went to stay here last night we were really excited and the room looked super nice and big! However, we made the mistake of not checking for bed bugs before going to sleep. This morning I woke up with a black bug crawling near my head, we didn't think much about it until my boyfriend looked under the mattress. There were multiple nests of bed bugs. We didn't even want to look at the other bed because it would've made us feel worse. We are from Akron and live in an apartment complex, we don't want to bring them home with us...so we had to go to the mall and buy new clothes to wear home, we are going to a laundromat to wash ALL of our belongings, and will have to bed bug bomb our vehicle as well. I know this kind of stuff happens, and the manager was very helpful and kind as he refunded our stay; however, this ruined our trip and now we will have to spend the entire day trying to stay clear of bed bugs. **note the "bed bug certified tag on the mattress" gave me a good laugh. read more

We stayed here as we were passing through Columbus. We chose it because the hotel is dog friendly. The rooms were clean, the hotel was quiet although it seemed busy. They charged us $75 a night for our dog in addition to the room cost. The rooms were spacious, a sofa area, and the bed area. They also offered continental breakfast in the AM. Recently stayed here for my husband's triathlon at Delaware State Park and this was a great location. We went to COSI while in town and also spent some time in Delaware and this was very convenient to both. Nice, comfortable, clean rooms. Great outdoor pool area with very friendly fellow guests. Room service menu is available 24/7 and the happy hour has some great deals on beer. The hot breakfast is a great value-add and has a great variety of offerings. Note that it doesn't begin until 7 a.m. on the weekends. (When you're up for a triathlon at 5 a.m. this detail matters.) We just made sure to bring our own breakfast snacks for that morning. We noticed several teen groups staying on our floor and were concerned about noise, but our room was very quiet. Our pre-school-aged kids slept very well, which means we did too! ;) read more

I was disappoint with the lack of response of the manager when we were first assigned a dirty room. We were moved into a clean room immediately and told that report to management which might have happened. I guess with Covid I expected an apology from them. Stayed here for 4 nights. Here's what I experienced: - Good location, not far from Polaris shopping and highways. - Friendly staff, especially at check-in. - Good morning breakfast. - Nice large screen TV but it's odd viewing it from an angle from either side of the room. Unfortunately a lot of the TV channels are not in HD so they have poor resolution. - Room was dated. Needs updating badly. Stains on the carpet. Nothing looks "fresh". - Housekeeping wasn't the greatest, they didn't always replace tissues, ignored my full melted ice bucket on the floor, etc. - The mattress pad was uncomfortable to sleep on, It was wrinkled/old and left indents on the skin of my back. - Room had 8 feather only pillows---why not 4 feather and 4 foam? - WiFi was slow. Did not respond to requests quick enough. - Pool is outdoors, so it's only available during the summer. - Air conditioner beside bed runs all the time, so it's noisy in your room all the time, unless you shut it off completely. That makes it hard to sleep. I called the front desk twice about this and they were clueless. They didn't get back to me on any solution or alternative. - I'm a Hyatt Diamond member, there was no benefit other than a free beverage, which I never received. Patrick the GM needs to tell the owner/HQ to overhaul the property badly. read more

Hyatt Place is rapidly becoming my hotel of choice. Love the decor (each hotel is exactly the same, right down to the gingko leaf glass over the registration desk), very friendly and clueful staff, clean rooms, stylish furnishings, and they cater to geeks. You can be almost 100% human-interaction-free if you'd like, with self-serve kiosks for checking in, checking out, ordering food, paying, etc. Free wifi, a "starbucks-lite" in the lobby serving coffee, sammiches, snacks that you'd actually want to eat, etc. Can't really go wrong, especially for around $115/night. I'm fairly sure Hyatt Place is a newer brand of Hyatt, so most of these properties are newly built (or mega-renovated); maybe in a few years they'll be meh. But for now, I'm happy! read more

This will be my hotel of choice in Columbus. It's very competitively priced at about $120 per night (this was over the weekend of a OSU football game). It's a bit far from OSU campus, but if you have a car, it's not that big of a deal. I picked this location because it is within walking distance of a COTA shuttle to the Horseshoe on game days. Hyatt Place looks brand new - both the lobby and the room had a very modern, comfortable design. The room I stayed in had a 42" TV and a comfortable couch. Free wifi and everything worked as expected. Staff was friendly and parking was plentiful. Will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Columbus. read more

I made a last minute change, checking out of the nearby Doubletree 2 days early due to a horrible experience there. Hyatt totally saved my business trip by showing me what true hospitality is all about! Nice hotel. Room was spacious and clean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Their 24 hour kitchen was a real surprise. Didn't use that option but very cool that they offer food options 24 hours a day! Breakfast was very good. Not vast but a decent variety of hot and cold options and the food quality is very much upscale in execution. (Not something somebody just unwrapped and nuked!) The have a small bar for Starbucks or adult beverages which is nice if wanting to either get a coffee pick-me-up or a cocktail to relax and unwind at the end of the day. Price was lower than other nearby hotels like the Sheraton, Doubletree, etc... Every staff member I encountered was absolutely and genuinely helpful and friendly. This is my new "go to" place when in the area! read more

My wife and I found his Hyatt Place to be in an ideal location in Columbus since we were visiting multiple areas around the city. I gave this Hyatt Place five stars because of the amazing customer service we received throughout the whole stay. In particular, an Hyatt employee brought us food even though she was leaving for the night. Each day she impressed us by her sincerity in making sure all hotel guests were extremely happy. If you are looking for a Hyatt Place in a great location with superior customer service then this Hyatt Place is the place. Oh, I almost forgot... If I'm going to Columbus and looking for an inexpensive hotel, this is my first choice. It's not new, but it looks it... modern, clean and bright. Rooms are nearly spotless, even the bathrooms (which appear to have been repainted white a hundred times - but at least they're clean). Love that the rooms have sofas and flat screens with easily accessible AV inputs. Only complaint is about the air conditioning units in the rooms - they are individual units by the window instead of central AC. They are noisy and either blow freezing cold air or none at al. 5 reasons for 5 stars: 1. Nice & clean rooms. Layout is nice nice with a living room & bedroom area. Only negative on the rooms are the TINY bathrooms & small closets. 2. WIFI included 3. Hot breakfast. Eggs, french toast, sausage. Also had cereals, fruit, yogurts, pastries and lots of varieties of each. 4. A 24 hour menu & room service is you need a bite to eat and don't want to go anywhere. 5. Location is excellent. Right off the freeway. Plenty of restaurants near. Polaris is a 5 minute drive. Nice hotel in a great location. Right off of 270 and plenty of variety in nearby (walkable even) restaurants. Staff is very friendly and you can get a good price on it sometimes. Breakfast if just cereal and juice, coffee and tea, and bread products. After breakfast time if you want any coffee or tea you have to pay for it. So what is amiss here? The room itself! It is a very good size but they did not think it out well. There is a great huge sofa to flop on as well as sleep if you want. Nice desk with chair to use computer (free wi-fi but rather slow) and cool thing is there are connections where you can hook up your computer to that VERY nice big screen tv. Has a wet bar with mini fridge and teeny coffee maker but no microwave. Then you get to the sleep area. This is where we have the fails. Bed itself is nice and comfy but there are no nightstands, you get a shelf. And that closet????? What closet? You can barely put anything in there and forget any suitcases. The sink is outside of the bathroom and that bathroom is claustrophobic! Open door, slide in sideways, have back to tub, then close door. And the heat/AC is this big clunky behemoth that juts out into the room practically against the foot of the bed. It's not what I expected, but after adjusting to how to stow our things it was good for what we needed. read more

This hotel was a less impressive than the website made it seem. First, as of October 2014 there is MAJOR construction before entering this complex. Getting to and from the hotel was a huge ordeal each time and nearly caused an anxiety attack. The room was spacious, there was a nice mini fridge. But the bathroom was so small, I could barely move and there wasn't a fan so it was hot! I also didn't like that the bathroom sink was right across from the beds, which disturbed my roommate in the middle of the night. The hot breakfast was good, I enjoyed the sandwiches and wide variety of foods but I do think they should get their dishwasher checked out because many of the dishes seemed to be a little dirty still. I thought this hotel was a little overpriced, but still a comfortable stay! read more

This is the first time I have stayed at a Hyatt and I must say they give exceptional service. I travel often, 6-12 times a year, and the I can say the staff went above and beyond. You usually get a different type of service from day vs evening shift but not here. The night shift was very courteous and helped me find my way around Columbus, gave me plenty of good tips, and overall very friendly. Oh, Liz helped me last night. The evening staff met and exceeded the morning shift. Micky was wonderful tonight. Due to the crazy winter we are having I am having to leave a night early and Micky and her staff helped me check out quickly. More so, I was checking out very late, 6pm, which is 2hrs past normal checkout, and they were still able to help me not pay a full nights rate. Even though they would had been 100% in the right to charge me, they understood that with the adverse weather and having to drive 6 hours back to Chicago where the bad weather is coming from, they only made me pay half. They really didn't have to. They can not rent the room tonight so they can not recoup their money. I appreciate all of there help and next year when the Arnold Classic is held again, I will be checking back in. Thanks Hyatt! read more
