My girlfriend and I stopped by Hotel LeVeque in the late evening of Sat, Aug , and asked if we could get some desserts at their bar. While it was too late for that, Elizabeth a staff member working there at that time went upstairs and brought us two gluten-free chocolate cakes. She went out of her way for us. We stayed at another hotel at that time, because LeVeque was fully booked, but next time we will make sure to book in advance. The hotel is beautiful. I was extremely happy with the location. We were there to watch Water for Elephants at the Ohio Theater. There also happened to be an art festival across the street. We parked once that weekend and walked everywhere we wanted to go. There was live music in the lobby, and a champagne greeting when we checked in. Our room was very comfortable and nicely decorated. The bathtub/shower combination was a dream. The only reason I didn't give it five stars, was our TV volume didn't really work. We even tried to turn it up to like 90 and could barely hear it. They did send service up to try to fix it, but he was unable to. Would definitely stay there again. read more

I travel for work with my work wife, whose standards for hotels can best be described as "bougie with an excellent breakfast," so we end up in a lot of Autograph Collection properties. This trip brought us to the LeVeque. I opened the door to my room and literally stopped in my tracks. My first thought: Can the interior designer come do my house next? The decor is gorgeous. One of my favorite discoveries was that the gold framing around the mirrors and bed? Plastic. The crisscross "marble" lamp bases? Also plastic. Honestly, brilliant. They look exactly like the kind of ridiculously heavy gold frames and marble lamps that would double as murder weapons in a Dateline episode. The bathroom is huge, the towels are fluffy, and there's a separate privacy door for the toilet--an underrated luxury when traveling. My only room complaint: the shampoo has that generic "guy cologne" scent that never quite smells as good as its creators think it does. The hotel's artwork is classy, and the bar area is comfortable with plenty of couches for lounging. The drinks, however, are pricey. At those prices, the martinis should arrive with special effects--a bubble on top that explodes into smoke, minimum. A minor annoyance: the lobby ran out of Diet Coke for purchase. Unfortunately, Marriott doesn't seem to give employees a small emergency soda fund to run out and buy a case. As for parking, valet would have been nice, but instead you park in the garage around the corner. The attached walkway makes it easy enough, though. Some coworkers stayed here and couldn't locate any open conference rooms for the day in the office. Our work had several departments coming in for meetings. The hotel was asked if there was a conference or meeting room we could use for the day! The answer was Yes! One room was in the second floor and the other one was a meeting area in the lobby next to the library. It was between the Starbucks and the front desk. It was out in the open but we weren't discussing anything confidential. Very few people came by us as most people waited closer to the front desk if they were waiting for someone. This led to a quiet atmosphere where we could hear each other without difficulty. We used a delivery service for lunch because The Keep's kitchen was going to close in 20 minutes. They are open for breakfast and close, close for several hours and reopen for happy hour/dinner service. The valet parking for the day was about $26 before tip. read more

I am so glad we chose this hotel with for a weekend stay in Columbus. The location was great and offered easy, quick ways to get around to all our destinations via a quick Uber ride or walk. The hotel itself is in a beautiful historic building with elevated architecture and decor. All interactions with the staff were extremely positive. They offer valet through a third-party company which was very convenient. Note that since it is a separate company, you pay them directly and the valet charge cannot be added to your hotel room bill. The onsite restaurant and bar, The Keep, is an amazing addition - I left a separate 5 star review for it should you wish to check it out. When we arrived on Friday there was live music in the lobby - apparently this is something they have most Fridays which is great. We checked in and got on the elevator to our room. It got stuck between floors and we were trapped for 45 minutes. Apparently some drunk people from an event jumped in the elevator right before us and broke something that caused it to malfunction when we got in. The fire department had to come pry the doors open. We literally had to crawl out through a small opening with our luggage (see photo). And the other elevators? Also problematic. Rattling, doors scraping when opening and closing. Clearly this building has serious elevator maintenance issues. Other problems: The minibar had expired items. When we checked out, the valet gave us the wrong set of keys - someone else's car keys. Management response: Complete silence. We stayed for 3 nights and not one person from management came to check on us, called our room, or even acknowledged this happened. Nothing. When I brought it up at checkout and said I expected to hear from someone, they finally called 5 hours later. Their offer? 50% off the room and free minibar. That's it. For being trapped in an elevator for 45 minutes and having to be rescued by firefighters? The only person who actually helped was Liz at the front desk. She was great. Bottom line: This hotel has serious problems. Drunk guests breaking elevators, poor maintenance, and management that ghosts you when something goes wrong. Stay somewhere else. read more

We stayed here recently for our sons wedding weekend. Our arrival was early morning, and well before usual hotel check in time. Prior to arrival, we called and asked if we could get into our room before festivities began around 2 pm. To our surprise and great delight, our room was available for us when we arrived at 7:30 am! This was incredible customer service and so appreciated. Our room was clean, spacious and quiet. The bathroom is well appointed with a lighted makeup mirror. We had arranged for a private room breakfast prior to our family departure Sunday morning. The Coleman Room was set up nicely and the coffee and food were hot and delicious. We highly recommend the LeVeque and would hesitate to stay here again. read more

First review of 2025! We had a wonderful stay at Hotel LeVeque and absolutely recommend! The service was excellent, and the room was clean, spacious, and luxurious. I especially loved the shower. There was a star light projector, which lit up the bedroom ceiling with stars and constellations which i loved and thought it was unique and relaxing for bedtime. We live roughly a mile away so this stay was for the New Year celebration, and we brought our dog with us. The hotel was very accommodating to dogs and a non-refundable $100 pet fee was applied. The valet parking was convenient, and check-in was friendly and seamless. The room included great amenities like a King Size bed, separate area for the toilet, there was a coffee maker, refrigerator, nice size flat screen, a blow dryer, and iron, although it didn't have a full-size ironing board. The New Year's Eve festivities were a highlight, with a balloon drop, a live band, and drinks in the lobby, creating a festive and memorable atmosphere. We also dined at THE KEEP, which was not a great experience, but that's another business and sperate review. Overall, Hotel LeVeque provided the perfect NYE getaway. We have been here to dine, and for a magic show, but was nice to spend the night. Rushed check in, no complementary cocktail (as promised), walked into a small, dark, sterile room reeking of bleach. Was this a recent crime scene? Hoping not, but it surely odd. We did have one small, dirty window, though -- overlooking the garage roof. We checked in for a two night "staycation", as we lived only 4 miles from the hotel. Needless to say, we didn't stay the second night and preferred our own bed to that of a quasi prison.-esque experience. The staff was plentiful and kind, but no one tried to follow through on anything. I drink at the hotel bar included a dirty glass in my booth seat from a former patron, and brunch in the morning, seated us next to a waitress station that hadn't been swept under in what looked like years. This hotel was beautiful! We are becoming fans of the Autograph Collection and this one exceeded our expectations! We had the a very pleasant stay here! Staff we encountered were extremely attentive and very pleasant! Rooms were so cute, very clean, classy and welcoming with great views. You also can sleep under the stars here! We also loved the bathroom setup too. The room had a mini fridge and a pricey little bar with snacks and drinks available if you wish to partake and can't reach a store. The room not have a microwave. The lobby was also very gorgeous! Lots of photo ops. Valet parking was $ 45.00 however; we parked a few steps away in public parking overnight for $ 13.00 instead. Starbucks - let me repeat that with even more excitement...STARBUCKS is located in the lobby! The restaurant in the lobby served breakfast for a few dollars as well. Looks like there is a bit of renovation going on outside however; you forget all about that when you enter! We would certainly recommend this hotel and would definitely return! I have stayed at this hotel several times without issue, but nothing could have prepared me for the nightmare of my most recent visit. Three nights into my four-night stay, my personal belongings were stolen directly from my room by a member of housekeeping. The theft was confirmed when hotel management escorted this employee to her personal locker, where I later watched on video recorded by management as some of my belongings were removed. Despite this, many items remain missing--including jewelry, clothing, undergarments, and personal care items. To make matters worse, the hotel has refused to cooperate with law enforcement fully. Although I saw video evidence (taken by a manager on her cell phone) of my property being taken from this employee's locker, management later denied the police access to that footage. This is not just negligence--it is obstruction. The most devastating loss was a necklace that belonged to my late father. While it carried significant monetary value, no amount of money could replace its sentimental worth. That piece of my family history is gone forever. Upon returning home, I made an even more disturbing discovery: stuffed in socks hidden inside my recovered shoes was jewelry that did not belong to me --and, shockingly, marijuana, which I can only assume was also stolen from other rooms. I drove for hours with someone else's drugs in my vehicle. The conduct of this hotel is disgraceful and deeply troubling. Instead of accountability and transparency, I was met with stonewalling, indifference, and a total lack of empathy, especially from Scott. Their refusal to act responsibly, protect their guests, or assist the police shows that their priority is protecting themselves, not their customers. If you value your safety, your peace of mind, or your belongings, I strongly urge you to NOT stay here. read more

I'm delighted to review this elegant escape for multiple reasons! This was our second visit here and it did not disappoint. I'm only going to review the hotel itself and the incredible staff, (unfortunately, yet again, "The Keep" restaurant experience was disappointing, burnt burger for starters, and can't put my finger on it exactly, but it's as if we were an inconvenience to some of the crabby female bar staff in particular, we will just leave it at that..) But, back to the Hotel Le Veque... Every detail is glowingly obvious the minute you walk in the door. You feel as though you've stepped back in time as you are immersed in the art deco styling. I could not get over how fresh and delightful the smells were! Even in the elevator..like the smell of vacation and spring flowers and I don't even know what yummy diffuser concoction! The front desk staff were genuinely happy to see us and had a treat for our dog every time we walked by. The little things are what impressed me the most.. they offered to help us in every way...the housekeeper greeted me with the warmest smile and enthusiasm..truly a kind human working hard to make us happy! Gorgeous hotel in downtown Columbus. Found this hotel on Google after searching "boutique hotels in Columbus". I have stayed at many hotels for work and this is by far the nicest. Although it is pricier than others in the area for a nights stay, I feel that it is worth it! The rooms are huge, clean and comfortable. The employees at the front desk are friendly and passionate about the hotel! The best part about this hotel is the little star gazer that is in each room that you can use at night and it fits them constellation theme of the hotel perfectly. The only downside to the hotel is that parking is not always easy. We ended up using a lot nearby but they really want you to do the valet. 45 dollars a day for valet was a lot for us but might work for others! I did not eat at the hotel restaurant but I heard it was nothing to write home about. read more

Even though I booked through hotels.com, I'm also a Marriott Bonvoy card holder, so they were nice enough to give us an upgraded room. The parking however, really stiffs you in the bum. $40 or 50 with valet or garage, and it was so frigid outside, icicles were forming on our clothes. Normally, I'm valet all the way, but this trip was budgeted since we are limiting our fancy pantsy nights out in order to save some moolah this year. Use SpotHero app, we saved more than half for overnight parking. Was much better the more after walking back. And mostly it's a really gorgeous hotel. It gives me that great Gatsby feeling. Everyone was super professional, and I was thrilled with the upgrade. That nostalgic feeling and then the modern touches really bring it all together. We had a bit of time before dinner, so we thought we'd head up to the room kick our shoes off and relax on one of the most comfortable beds I've been in, in this lifetime. If you ever thought about having a small party in the bathroom, it could probably be arranged. It felt like I was back at my gym spot and Chicago if you know it, East Bank. Perfect pressure. Very spacious. A big midwestern guy could quite literally stand in the middle, do a circle, and not hit a wall. I'm only docking it one star, because when I called down to the front desk to see if they had any snacks they could bring up or maybe I could go down and see if there was something I could munch on before dinner, the phone is as old school as the one I grew up with with the coiled rings around it. The cable kept separating from the backing, and there was so much static. I tried about six or seven calls downstairs, and it was so scratchy, I barely heard what he said, and vice versa so I gave up. They could use better phones for sure. Otherwise, very very comfortable bed after a night out for dinner and dancing. Hard to get out of bed the next morning. Pillows to blame. Perfect. The service and ambiance of this hotel made for a great weekend stay recently! My husband and I spent two nights here to celebrate my birthday with a couple shows at the adjacent theater. We arrived a little early (at the time I stated in the online check-in via the Bonvoy app) and our room was already ready despite the hotel being pretty busy -- I never expect a room to be ready before check-in, but it's a pleasant surprise when it is! The staff member who checked us in was one of the most professional and friendly I've encountered at a Marriott hotel. She asked if we were celebrating anything, and when I mentioned my birthday, she gave us tickets for two complimentary drinks at the bar (another pleasant surprise!). Our standard room was lovely; it had an art deco influence without feeling "costume-y". The king bed was incredibly comfortable -- a little firmer than most hotels, and firmer is what my husband and I both prefer. (The pillows were also great.) The curtains seemed like true blackout curtains and let us keep the room in darkness until we were ready for some sunlight. The bathroom was fantastic; HUGE by hotel standards with a separate toilet space and a wonderful walk-in shower with two shower heads. The staff had one extra surprise in store with a special delivery of chocolate-covered strawberries as a "birthday gift", which was again unexpected but incredibly nice (and delicious). Between the ambiance and service, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel LeVeque over Thanksgiving weekend. The hotel is part of Marriott's Autograph Collection and absolutely lives up to its name. I was greeted warmly upon arrival by the front desk staff and was recognized as being a Bonvoy member. My room was absolutely stunning, roomy and did not disappoint. My best friend and I spent a wonderful evening in The Keep Lounge and were attended by Elizabeth and Patrick who gave us 5 star service that evening and for the rest of our stay. On Sunday morning, we had a wonderful brunch and were again given 5 star service by Will in The Keep. The food was prepared well and served piping hot. Hotel LeVeque is a gorgeous, refined hotel in downtown Columbus. I stayed here for a night in February as a birthday surprise for a friend and the staff were welcoming and helpful in assisting us with our plans. Our room was spacious and beautiful and continued the constellation theme throughout. There is a very homey feel in the room as you don't really hear any of the goings on throughout the rest of the hotel. We were able to grab drinks at the keep and the in house restaurant only enhanced our experience. Like I mentioned, it was a Saturday night in February and I expected there to be valet but there were only piles of snow in any convenient drop-off location in front of the doors. There's a parking garage for the hotel but I wouldn't classify it as super convenient. This would be my only gripe. Otherwise it was a great experience! read more

As many know, the Autograph collection of hotels within the Marriott portfolio of properties are generally a step (or a giant leap) above the regular Marriott Courtyard and Residence Inn options, and the LeVeque is certainly no exception to that rule. This is a great hotel. The rooms are spacious, and have many stylistic "homey" decorations with a space/astronomy theme. I'll let my photos do most of the talking inasmuch as seeing is believing, but suffice it to say that this hotel has to be in my nationwide business travel top ten (and I've literally stayed at hundreds of hotels in just that last 10 years alone). Given the reasonableness of the room rates, as compared to other big-city high-end hotels, the LeVeque is a cant miss deal. Highly recommended! read more

Absolutely wonderful Christmas Eve stay! This is a beautiful old building with classic architecture and luxurious fixtures. There is a Starbucks attached to it, as well as the Palace Theatre. There is a bar and restaurant on the second floor called "the keep". We did not dine there but the atmosphere looked very mellow, almost speakeasy like. The staff was courteous and helpful. The room was large, with interesting and sophisticated decor. They will bring robes to your room if you ask. This is part of their stargazer collection, and there was a star projector in the room. Great view of the river, City Hall and COSI, which all had holiday lighting. The bathroom was absolutely decadent, shower is perfect for two. The bed was cozy and comfortable. read more

So I did a photo shoot here and OMG THIS PLACE IS BEAUTIFUL!!! There's a Starbucks down stairs and the hotel workers are really nice! It's an upscale hotel in downtown columbus next to the palace theater. You can walk up the street to high st for food etc. the rooms are decorated beautifully! I took my pictures in a suit on the top floor and the river view was beautiful! The room sometimes for anywhere between $237-$400 a night yes it's pricy but it's an experience worth having!!! We had a great staycation downtown at Hotel LeVeque. This historical building contains office space and apartments in addition to the hotel, so it's important to use the right set of elevators! The Keep Restaurant and Bar are on the Mezzanine level or can be accessed from the main entrance. Our room was spacious, and the bathroom was luxurious! I've never seen such a huge walk-in shower! We enjoyed a cup of coffee in the room when we arrived. Our TV didn't work well, or possibly it was the remote that didn't work, but otherwise we had a great, relaxing stay. We valued the in and out privileges with the valet since we were driving to go get food a few times. read more

Wow! The space of this hotel amazes me! I came around maybe 2 o'clock with my co workers to walk around and stretch my legs. There's a Starbucks on the main floor that a lot of them like to go to. Haven't been yet but I'll have to check it out. We walked around the mezzanine. Just wow! Seems like a well-maintained historical hotel! Love it! From the outside, the LeVeque is honestly my favorite building downtown. It's beautiful! The inside is too. I'll have to take pictures next time. Lots of art work on the walls and really cool looking light fixtures too. There's a model of the LeVeque inside a glass casing too. Wow. That's all I can say. The LeVeque used to let people go up to the top floor for a view of the skyline, but I don't think they allow that anymore. There's a restaurant in here called The Keep, that I'd love to try as well. From the moment we stepped foot into the lobby, I knew that our weekend stay at Hotel LeVeque would be amazing. Eduardo at the front desk was so accommodating and upgraded us to a queen suite. When the computer system wasn't updated to let him know if the room was ready, he gifted us with complimentary drink tickets at the bar "The Keep" for our patience. The room was incredible with a view overlooking the Scioto River. Half bath, wet bar, pantry and fridge, living room with TV, dining table, plus the bedroom with its own TV and attached master bath. The hotel robes were a great touch. We enjoyed our time at The Keep as well, everyone was friendly and welcoming. Attached garage is a great plus. Close to the theater showing Hamilton (at the time), also close to coffee shops and COSI. Signature scent of the hotel was also great, so much so that post visit research was done to figure out what it is :) Great visit, looking forward to coming back some day, and trying more Autograph Collection hotels thanks to Hotel LeVeque. Previous bad reviews on room cleanliness were spot on for this hotel. Popcorn left on a chair, dust and crumbs in corners and around legs of furniture. Changed room due to dirtiness; staff was clueless on their duty for an expensive hotel. During my 5 night stay, I had inconsistent room cleaning, and carpet was never vacuumed. Yordanos Embaye, account supervisor/manager was not knowledgeable or experienced in how to add payment authorization form to my room reservation. The team could not find it from 3/30 when added, could not find it when checked-in on 5/1, and could not locate it on check-out 5/5. Yordanos stood in front of me, said nothing, left the desk to look for the document and never returned. Very disconnected hotel staff member. In addition, building construction scaffolding had no workers present in the 5 days I was there. This hotel needs to step it up in staff training, cleanliness, and service to their clients! Hotel LeVeque is a lovely art deco building. The rooms have been upgraded but it is remains true to its history. The minibar (if you could call it that) was a couple snack options and sparkling water. Very disappointing. The other not I had was that there were a lack of USB ports anywhere. I've grown accustomed to that. The room I was given had a view of a tar roof behind the building. I stayed only one night. My husband booked a night here for my birthday and it was perfect!!!! The hotel was beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. We took advantage of valet parking and loved that they had an onsite Starbucks. When we checked in, they asked our reason for the stay, and my husband mentioned my birthday. senior concierge, Kwasi, was awesome and gave us two cards for free drinks in the Keep bar to celebrate! Very cool touch. Kwasi has so many good recommendations for places to eat and we just loved talking to him. Our room was stunning and I loved seeing Watershed cocktails in the mini bar. The bath products were super fancy and I appreciated all the touches like the robe and chandelier. I have a good friend who loves staying in boutique hotels. I know him for several decades and I think he had transferred his fascination with dating different women to his fascination with staying in different hotels as he's gotten older. Therefore, I wasted no time to send him photos of this hotel in the middle of the country because I take great pleasure in one-upping him. He sent a note back and said "I wish I were there with you", which is NOT what you think he meant. It's really his way of admitting defeat, as in "darn it, that's a nicer hotel than mine." I think he's stuck in some crappy campus hotel doing his work somewhere further East Coast. Me, one, he, zero. As this same friend who has told me once before, some hotels that get retrofitted are not as nice as it appears to be because you have to work with what the building has to offer. This is not the case as it has good bones to begin with.This is an Autograph collection, it completes with night light that shines to the ceiling that shows the consolation as part of the turn down service. It's got a long hallway, and spacious living space, good AC and nice wall art. it reminds me of Fifth Avenue Suites in downtown Portland Oregon circa 1997, when they just had completely the French style renovation, Hotel is part of the Marriott, so as a Gold or Platinum member you get either free continental breakfast or some hotel points which is a bonus. The building is really close to the state capital where I'm here for a meeting with the regulators. Not far is the Pearl Market with ally bars and restaurants, and the river is just one block over. This might be the cleanest city I've ever been to. Very well manicured surroundings. The hotel is very convenient if you want to go out for a jog/walk or if you want to stay in and hang out in the room and work. I did a bit of both. Hotel is on a special. It's cheaper than Marriott Courtyard when I book it a day or so ago. Nice fresh sheets and pillow cases. Good night Ohio! read more

We stayed 4 nights for the Final Four WBB Tournament. We walked back and forth to Nationwide Arena 3 times and took a taxi to get there twice. There isn't a taxi stand so you ask a desk clerk for a taxi and it's out front in about 5 minutes, price $5 bucks to arena. When our event ended we walked home because it would take longer to get a taxi than to walk to the hotel. My rating is a solid 4. They get a demerit for our tub/shower situation. We were in room 909. The shower is inside a tub with sides up to our knees (about 17"-18" high). That makes it awkward for shorties (5'3") like us to get into it. Then there was the difficulty of getting the shower to work. It's a 2-headed system. We didn't ever figure out how to get water to come out of the shower head we wanted, so we used whichever shower head the water came out of. The gold trim heads are cute but the system isn't practical. After showering almost the entire bathroom floor was wet. I put the shower curtain inside the tub and that didn't help either. So after showering, there was a mop up job., ever time. The imitation wood tiles in the room foyer is permanently water warped so other guest had the same shower flooding issue, apparently. This entire set up needs rethinking. There is a Keuring coffee maker in the room so bring you FAV K-cup. I would've if I knew. I like mellow-mild coffee and this town seems to love strong-grow hair on your chest coffee. Yes, there is a Starbucks coffee shop in the lobby for java lovers. We aren't coffee lovers, more one-and-done cup types. Note: the mini fridge is really teeny but adequate.There was no microwave oven in the room so those left overs have to be eaten cold or at room temp. There was no safe in the room. The parking prices are ridiculously high (as is high-jacking), especially for valet parking. We paid $30 for the 1st night of valet parking. I was told it would cost $40 the next night so we moved our car to a lot that cost $12 for the day (no in/out privileges). Even if I wanted to use the car once during the day, that's still cheaper than $30 or $40. You can drive around the corner to the hotel garage and park it yourself but that rate is still in the "gotcha" price range. Everyone on the staff is friendly and helpful.
