Stayed here for several days during the World Cup. It's been 4 years years since we were at this hotel. The location is good. The staff is great and the Italian restaurant is wonderful. For a Hilton brand, the guest rooms are in dire need of updating. The towels and particularly the bed coverings were old. The mattress was uncomfortable and the sofa was so worn It sagged. Both the sofa and chairs were stained. With newer hotels nearby this would not be our selection again. Needs a renovation! As Diamond members we expected more. read more

What a beautiful hotel and a great location right off the interstate with easy access to keep traveling after a quiet, restful night! Convenient location across from the mall if you need to shop, no traffic issues to deal with at the location. Not much thought went into my booking of this hotel because I did a last minute trip. That just tells you how dependable and reliable the Hilton Hotel brand is. This is a safe location so you don't have to be concerned about your vehicle and parking is included free. The lobby is beautiful with chandeliers and nice furnishings and complimentary coffee and tea. Our room was clean, comfortable and relaxing for an evening to unwind and rest to be refreshed for the next travel day! And the beds were comfy so I slept like a baby! Coffee makers in the room so you can start your day off right. The check-in process was smooth and upon checking-out, all I had was complimentary comments for the staff! The hotel restaurant is called Johnny's Italian Steakhouse and the food was delicious, fresh and we were super impressed! They even do a happy hour special, so look them up even if you aren't traveling but just want a meal that is delightfully tasty if you live in the area. I don't know if I will be back in Kansas again, but if I am this is the hotel I will seek out and a restaurant I would love to go to again! read more

I loved this hotel! The rooms were spotless, the check-in was easy and the staff was very helpful. I'm traveling with two small dogs and was graciously welcomed to the hotel. The room was clean and didn't smell like a kennel. I was told about a nearby dog park which was one of the most incredible dog parks I've ever walked through. There was plenty of grass around the hotel to accommodate my dogs and the grounds were clean. The location of this hotel is ideally situated within walking distance of several restaurants and shops just off the highway. I'll be back! read more

My co-workers and I stayed here for 5 nights for work. First thing I checked was the bed: clean, no mattress protector, on a wooden bed frame. Just crumbs under the bed. Worn furniture, old carpet but visually it was clean. The bathroom grout was dirty. So I wore my shoes the whole time. It was difficult to go to sleep, the ac or heater was making an uneasy noise. This is the most beautiful Hilton Garden Inn I've ever visited. I had several options in the vicinity but stopped here to take a look (& use the restroom after several hours on the road), & I was immediately sold on staying. Though the property is 10 years old, the lobby is more contemporary than most. The attached Italian steakhouse was absolutely stunning and had a real Sinatra et al feel to it; I thoroughly enjoyed my steak dinner & red wine (first one was complimentary for hotel guests!). The bar area is also special and was available for seating for breakfast buffet, as well. I wish I had taken more photos. My room was well appointed with the typically comfortable bed, pillows, sheets, comforter. I have favorited this property in the Hilton app and hope to return for another stay in the future! read more

I am currently staying at this hotel for the next 3 days. Everything was great until I attempted to log into the wifi. My two phones and my ipad won't log in, and I tried multiple times. I get to the screen where you enter the room number, but after that, it doesn't connect. I followed the directions, and no one answered the 877 number provided. So I called the front desk and the young lady said "follow the directions on the sheet of paper". I tried to explain to her that none of my devices would connect, but she interrupted me 2x and stated the same instructions. I finally said ok and attempted to call the number again, I waited 10 more minutes, and no one answered. Finally, I called down to the desk, the same female answered, and she said, "Please hold," and never came back to the pounds. I just hung up and realized fast after these three days, never again will I stay here. Unprofessional. I'll have to figure something out for me to be able to work at night. All I wanted was to see if they might have another room closer to a router or something, but I guess that's out of the question. read more

This is probably the best Hilton that we've stayed in. The rooms were great. The beds were comfortable. We are Diamond members so we could use our credits for the breakfast buffet which was really good. The staff we encountered was very polite. We checked in digitally but when we got in our room they had already closed the curtains, put water bottles in the mini-fridge, and left a physical key card with a adult beverage coupon on the table. If every Hilton would model itself after this one they'd be better off. Needless to say, if we are ever passing through the area again, we will stay here. read more

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this hotel. The hotel is large, for this particular area, and the rooms were great. I had a two queens, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker and a pretty view of the area. The service was fantastic. They have a really nice Italian steakhouse on property. I had an appetizer and a few cocktails and it was delicious. They have a breakfast buffet in the mornings that is $12 very well put together. There was several businesses within walking distance including a Buffalo Wild Wings that basically shared the same parking lot. I will stay here every time I go back to Kansas City. read more

Really a very nice addition to the Olathe hotel scene. I had family stay here and had an opportunity to view most aspects of the hotel without actually sleeping there. First, everything is still fresh and new and clean. The views from the top floor are quite nice, even if it's just of suburbia. The situation of the hotel means you'll end up with either a really good sunrise or sunset view, especially if you're on the 4th, 5th or 6th floors. Rooms have everything you need - large TV, plenty of channels, comfortable beds, nice desk and comfortable chair, and even a fridge. Bathrooms are of good size. The common areas are equally as nice. The lobby has some great seating, including a slightly hidden 8 person table and TV that we used one night to have pizza. You can also grab a drink from the bar and enjoy it in the lobby area. Pool area is nice but a bit chlorine-ey. The gym is small but has great machines. I've been to the Johnny's Italian Steakhouse before and have a full review of that, but it's very good. Drinks at the bar are expensive, but tasty. However, breakfast is also served here and its a tale of two breakfasts. One (Saturday) was quick, efficient, well stocked. On Sunday, however, something was really wrong and everything was slow and of poorer quality. Consistency appears to be weak. The area has plenty of options for food and drink, but it is suburbia so don't expect much beyond chains, be them local chains or national chains. read more

Pretty terrible place here generally. Wi-Fi didn't work for me. The sheets made me itch all night. The gym is 2 treadmills with one broken. The water is so soft it feels like you can never get the soap off! Breakfast was like a bad version of a free continental breakfast you get at other hotels... But you get the pleasure of paying almost $15 for your powdered eggs, weak coffee and two day old oatmeal. The topper was that they cancelled my internet access at 8am so couldn't do any work at breakfast Avoid this hotel if you have the option and don't care about the points. Unfortunately i didn't that luxury this time. read more

I was sad that we weren't able to stay here for very long to get the full experience of the hotel, but the front desk employee was very kind and considerate. We were staying here for our wedding and they let us check in a little earlier than usual just because we were getting married the same day. As you can imagine,there are a lot of things that happen on that day, but they were very gracious to let us check in early. I even called about a shuttle service to pick us up from the wedding, and even though they do not offer a car service, they were able to refer us to local vendors. We felt they did a little extra here and there to make a stay stress free during a pretty hectic time. Our room was clean and very relaxing when we needed to take a break from the chaos. We enjoyed our time and will refer this location to friends when coming to visit. read more

I was in town for a half marathon, drove 8 hours to run this race due to the theme of the race. This was one of the suggested hotels. Let's start with, toilet seat falling off, shower was in bad maintenance condition, faucet handles were old and coming off. That was the good. Keep in mind you have runners that are getting up at 4:30AM to get to a race. There was also a Snap On tool gathering that had a conference room and hotel rooms booked. Well, the kids shouting and running up and down the halls was horrible! The worst, it was happening in an open balcony right above where you check in. Which means they could hear the kids playing and didn't say a word to them until people complained. I spoke with a couple guys from the Snap on gig and they were as unhappy as I was. Well to wrap this up, never ran the race, didn't get enough sleep to run the race AND drive 8 hours home that day. When I contacted Hilton, they offered me a $25 gift certificate to stay in there hotel. Very nice, I drove 16 hours, spent $160 for a room, $75 on a race that I couldn't run and they offer a $25 gift certificate. You stay if you wish, never again for me. read more

If I'm ever in the southern Kansas City again, I'll definitely stay here again. When I booked this hotel online, there were several other hotels in the immediate area for about the same rate, but I'd say from driving by them, this HGI looked the nicest from the outside. Inside, there's an overall new and contemporary ambiance. The onsite restaurant offers a great high quality $10 breakfast buffet that includes made to order omelets. The gym was adequate in size for several people to be working out at once and it had a few high quality treadmills and weights. The hotel was only open for about 2 weeks at the time I began my stay. My quick descriptor would be that the hotel is "Sterile". It has a very clean and unused look to it. To the point where you wouldn't be surprised to see nurses walking the hallways. I started out thinking I would give it 5 stars, but then a few things happened where I was going to actually change to 3 stars. The management worked through those minor issues. Rooms are very nice, each with a modern flat screen TV, microwave and small refrigerator. A master switch turns on and off the lights. Bathroom is well lit with a walk-in shower (no privacy, though) and nice soft towels. Internet is free, but the speed is somewhat slow. This only only boasts 106 rooms and some are suites. They have a nice new pool. Their fitness center is "StarTrac" which is the same brand you can purchase for home use. A small universal, free weights, bench and mat, 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical and 1 bike. The restaurant was very nice. The bar has a spread of blue high intensity lights with a flat screen TV making for a nice atmosphere. The bartender and staff are very friendly, but unfortunately they close at 10 which makes for an early sports night. Fortunately they're directly across from a Buffalo Wild Wings which is where the staff usually flees after their shift. On the second floor, there's a terrace overlooking the front parking lot and BWW. It has several chairs and couches as well as a flat screen TV. Would be a great place for a cigar or late night cocktail, but they don't allow smoking on the premises. They neighboring hotels consist of Comfort Inn, Hampton Inn, Fairfield Inn and Residence Inn---all offer free breakfast. Not so here, their breakfasts are a bit pricey, so it pays to go with their breakfast package. You can't compare other hotel breakfasts to this one, though. Other than the OJ from a can, everything made to order was very good. I had the crabcake eggs benedict which were excellent. Coffee is served in the lobby 24/7. If you're a Hilton Honors member, don't expect a USA Today delivered to your door. They have them at the front desk only. They have some minor issues to work out here, but hopefully they'll find their way. read more

Hilton Garden Inn Olathe is at a perfect location! You can walk to restaurants and drive across the street to Target. You are close to just about anything you need. It's close to Scheel's Sporting fields and LifeChurch Olathe. Customer service is excellent! We had breakfast and when Johnny's breakfast potatoes are fresh, they are amazing. We have stayed her on two occasions and it was a great experience both times! read more

I would give this a lower rating if I could. We stayed here in September and had a terrible experience with the staff. We arrived around 11 pm and it took over a hour to check into a room we had reserved weeks in advance. The gentlemen checking us in kept calling my husband by the wrong name. When we checked out the bill was incorrect. I had it corrected only for them to charge my mother in laws credit card instead of mine. (She also had a horrible experience). The card was in no way connected to my reservation so I don't even know how they screwed that one up. read more

I travel often with the military and was quoted a price of $109 over the phone with my military discount. Not two hours later I walked and to get my room and was told that the only rate was $189 with my discount! Simply, the VERY BEST HGI in the entire family of hotels. The decor and amenities are better than most top shelf Hilton hotels. A must see.

The hotel is beautiful. Beautifully kept and very clean. It has a very nice atmosphere. My kids and I tagged along on my husband's business trip, so we spent a lot of time at the pool. The pool was great and the water was not freezing.( Which seems hard to find these days) It is kind of small, but this is more of a "business trip" hotel, than a family hotel, so I'm assuming there is very rarely many people in the pool at once. There are so many places to eat within a very short walking distance. The only reason this is a 4 star, and not 5 is the staff. They just aren't that friendly. They weren't mean or rude, just not friendly. Not a smile from the 4 or 5 I encountered. Their breakfast looked great, but there is no cheaper price for children. I wouldn't really mind paying $10 for myself, but $10 for my daughter to eat yogurt wasn't going to happen. Another reason why this is more of a hotel for business trips than families. read more

After a long, tiring day I checked into a king room, unpacked, and went to dinner at the hotel. Upon my return the air conditioner had an extremely loud buzzing. I called the staff and they sent maintenance, who agreed it was loud and something was very wrong. Unable to quickly fix it, I had to move to a room that was a downgrade. No one offered to help me move, bring me the key or a luggage cart. As tired as I was, I went up and down multiple times, re-packed, re-unpacked, and called the desk to ask if they were adjusting the cost due to the downgrade. I was told that I was getting a break on the price, which was now going for much more than what I had booked the king room for. Wait, what? I'm looking at the website that show a double queen is a less than the king that I had booked. They explained it was complicated and they were already offering me another room since I wasn't happy with the last one. So, in their mind they are doing me a favor. They offered a manager who among many other offensive things actually said that no one else had complained about my first room before me so they were happy to accommodate me with another room, which they didn't have to do because I didn't like a little noise. I explained it really wasn't the cost itself, but the accountability I was confused about. At this point I told them I would be re-packing again and checking out. What I never told them was that the buzzing wasn't occurring prior to my leaving for dinner. Don't they realize that when something breaks, it has to start sometime? They called back and offered me a free night to stay. I stayed one night only because no other hotels nearby had an opening. I left the next day for another hotel and would have preferred paying another hotel than staying there for free. It's pretty sad that business accountability has sunk so low in that staff has no concept of when their actions are inconveniencing their customers. Then add blaming the customer on top of that. It's pretty inexcusable. read more
