The incompetence of the front desk manager needs to be studied and reviewed by the hospitality board. The amount of false, inconsistent, oscillating, information given out is staggering. Beverly and Danyale the front desk managers are leading a team without concise and consistent information. April was the only one who had some type of common sense and compassion. How do you leave two incompetent employees to check in customers? Each asking the how to's of a job. This hotel has been a pain since I've came here. I came here for a work conference and each time I have been extremely disappointed in the service and the upkeep of the hotel. The provisions cafeteria is slow as traffic on 240 East during rush hour. The elevators are outdated, hot and sound like they need to be at the very least sprayed with WD-40. If it wasn't for my conference I would definitely choose somewhere else to stay. The breakfast buffet is poorly supplied. They often run out of food and are slow to replace. The only good thing about the hotel is the maid staff. My room was cleaned and changed everyday(that I was allowed to enter). I will never willingly come back to this hotel. Oh and if you are here for a conference be sure to submit their version of an authorization form because if not they will disable your key, try to charge your card incorrect amounts and keep you waiting in the lobby. This place is an absolute joke and I hope the ILAM committee takes their business elsewhere. They had the nerve to send me a rating link to see how I'm enjoying my day. I was so disappointed in my visit here. I attended a reunion meeting with over 300 attendees. The hotel has the rooms, but not the staff to accommodate a large group. But worst all I was double charged for my room and it has been more than a week since my stay and I have yet to see my money. read more

I travel to Memphis for work on a regular basis and don't like to stay in the downtown area so I looked at this hotel in East Memphis near Germantown. Being a Hilton Hotel and not one of the other value brands, there is a level of expectation when it comes to the quality, service and overall experience. Starting with the rooms: updates are needed. They are functional and a decent size but they haven't really done much other than change furniture and could be modernized a big. The air conditioning is quite loud in each of the multiple rooms I have stayed in, but thankfully they work. The bathrooms definitely need an upgrade and the shower pressure isn't exactly the best. Again, functional but not ideal. The lobby looks to have been updated recently, however it doesn't seem to be in sync with the rest of the hotel. The halls/elevators don't really match up with the lobby and the bar. The restaurant/bar food is ok, but can't really expect too much from a hotel restaurant usually. If you visit the gym, this is definitely a good one. I am a fan of the machines and equipment in here and very much enjoy staying at this hotel just for that amenity. The pool looks pretty great also, and wish they had a sauna/steam! I would say that if one thing could be fixed/changed in this hotel, it would be the elevators. They are very old, semi-functional and extremely slow. Don't get caught trying to go up/down during busy hours. I'd recommend this hotel for anyone to stay in, but keep in mind the expectations and mindful of the price point when you book. read more

It's all new including this wonderful place where you can have this delicious buffet that includes eggs, small quiche, potatoes, sausages, waffles, croissant, omelettes, and bread. This place is a dump, the carpet was dirty, it was a hole in the bathroom, and the air-conditioner wasn't working. Let me not forget there was a water shut down. The service was great, from bellhop, to security, to the front desk. We really appreciated the fact that there was security patrolling the parking lots since it made the entire experience better. However, when arriving at the room, I have to say that there was something more to be had. Judging by the neighbors and carpet, we were stuck in a "pet friendly" room since we had pets. That's fine and all, but if you look at the pictures of the carpeting and furnishings, it seemed like we had been thrown into a second rate room, but paying what everyone else paid along with a $50 pet fee (to be expected at all Hilton chains that take pets). Kind of a let down for accommodations when the service was actually pretty nice. I would probably suggest at least re-doing the carpeting and perhaps putting insulation into the walls so that you can't hear everything that goes on between rooms. read more

Upon checking in the front desk girl didn't make eye contact with us and was very monotone and robotic. The hotel is being renovated so there were parts that were closed, not a big deal. We get to the room and it's disgusting. Stains on the walls and smelly carpets. We go to the lobby and some girl pukes right in front of us. A little disappointed that the room doesn't have a mini fridge or a microwave. The hotel does seem dated, but it's clean. Also, had two towels for showers for two adults. I would expect at least four since I shower morning and night. Also, between the rooms from floor to floor must be paper thin. I keep hearing the loud individuals above us, coughing, talking, and dropping everything in their hands. Guess I will be going to the local store for ear plugs so I can study and sleep. Not sure I will recommend this Hilton as I feel I could have gotten a much better price with a better room, but the convenience for my conference is optimal. The manager on duty, Jimmy Ross was more than agreeable to relocate us to another room, which was much more satisfying for cleanliness. The noise level throughout this entire hotel seemed to just travel. Jimmy also acknowledged an evening there was internet disruption and took care of it immediately. I applaud him for his efforts and sensitivity to our needs. I wish he would have been there a night sooner to assist sooner. read more

The Hilton chain in general is usually good. I like the location of this hotel and the check-in personnel are always friendly. The Starbucks coffee/food area could use improvement. In the early morning timeframe, they seem to be busy, and staff is very limited. I find the food to be average and they could most definitely use more staff to move the customer's along faster. Overall, this Hilton has a nice lobby with bar/restaurant. I've only had breakfast, which was not so good, a typical continental breakfast. read more

This review is simply about the upkeep of the public spaces at this particular Hilton Hotel. This is NOT a review of the restaurants or the rooms not staff. It is entirely about the state of the way our group is shuffled around from conference room to conference room and the sad state of the restrooms. I attend a monthly meeting at this hotel. We pay a LOT for use of a conference room and we are often moved around and placed in rooms that are not adequate in size with a giant post in the center of the room which is very inconvenient for our meetings. Many times there is no other conference being held in the hotel but we get sent to this terrible room. One would thing that they would appreciate the every month commitment but apparently not so much. Now about the bathrooms. Bathrooms drive me crazy! Does no one care about the sad state of the restrooms in a public venue such as this? Apparently at one time they had huge crowds and prepared for that by building huge bathrooms (I think the ladies room on the lower level where all the banquet rooms are has about 15-20 stalls.) yet the photos will show the terrible disrepair of some of the stalls. It's not like they got this way over night, I've been attending my monthly meetings for almost 3 years now and the issues have remained unchanged. But then again, this is only a 3 hotel yet I'll bet their prices reflect more of a 5 star! It is fancy-schmancy on the surface but apparently no one there cares about the sad bathrooms. Some of the worst customer service I have ever received at a Hilton owned hotel. I had an early morning flight so I arrived to the hotel early before check in. I wanted to go ahead and pay for the room and stow my bag so I could go across the street for food while I waited on the room to be ready. They told me I was not allowed to do that. Since I did not want to lug my suitcase around for hours while I waited on a room I was forced to sit in the lobby until my room was ready. Normally Hilton always tries to be accommodating so the poor service was really a surprise. Disappointed. read more

Unfortunately the stay was horrible. The rooms were just nasty and I mean nasty. It appears the hotel does not have the appropriate staffing for cleaning services. I have NEVER stayed at any Hilton brand this nasty and I am still in shock. I spent around $600 for two rooms this weekend and the accommodations were below sub-par! I advise anyone thinking of staying here anytime soon, DO NOT!! I had to switch one room because the door was actually off the hinge, the chairs in the rooms were stained and there is no way cleaning service did not see this. The carpets were horrid and hallways just trash, spider webs everywhere. I can only imagine what the food service was like and kitchen...geesh! The rooms are not family rooms their a bit small if you have children but if it's just you and wifey you will love it............ My credit card company sent an alert that on 7/18 someone had used my card without it being present. I discovered someone had accessed my hilton account and booked themselves a stay. I called the hotel on 7/19 in the morning after receiving a receipt for the stay and was told the manager would contact me Thursday morning regarding this as I was on vacation with my family. As of this morning, this still has not happened. It appeared he used a digital key so he never went by the desk to check in or check out. I am so glad they stuck with their promises and took something like this serious. read more

When we got into the room there were Q-tips in the toilet bowl there was a plastic spoon on the floor near the desk. Dining is difficult at this hotel. Bistro closes at 10am on weekdays, serving breakfast only. Provisions market has limited menu. No place to get appetizers and dinner unless you order room service or order at the bar which does not open until 4pm. The renovation they are working on is quite nice. Having our wedding here was a great decision. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, and worked with us on everything we wanted and needed to make our wedding everything we ever wanted it to be. The chefs went above and beyond for our over the top fruit buffet that we wanted, and essentially made masterpieces out of fruit. I do wish they had separated our reserved rooms (grooms suite, honeymoon suite, etc) further from other guests in the hotel because the walls were thin. But as far as having an event or wedding there, FANTASTIC! read more

My stay at this Hilton wan a terrible experience.I was there for 3 nights December 22nd - December 25 I stayed on the 26th floor. The elevator carpet is filthy and not to the Hilton standards. Friday December 23rd I did not have water. I contacted the front desk they responded quickly and said they had the engineer working on it, but after no update after waiting 2 hours as to when I would get water, I drove to a friends home to shower. Saturday 23rd again no water. I called the front desk multiple times and no one answers the phone. I go down stairs the front desk clerk tells me the water pipes burst or was frozen and we have no water and they would move me to floor 4 which has more water pressure. I incoveniently packed up all of my belongings and my daughters and moved to floor 4. In additon to a dog barking all night, there was NO WATER!!! just a small stream not enough pressure to take a shower but I let the stream run 30 minutes to take a bath just incase there was no water on Sunday. I wake up Sunday morning after a terrible night of listening to the dog on the fourth floor howling and again NO WATER!!!! I washed my face and brushed teeth with bottled water. (would've been nice if Hilton would have provided guest with free water since there was no running water) At one point, I lived in Memphis and surrounding areas for about 6 years so I know the city fairly well. I understand the weather may have caused disruptions to the water supply. However, Hilton never communicated the water issues to the guest. Guest should've been given the choice to drive 15 minutes down the road to a Hilton franchise in the city of Olive Branch, Southaven , Horn lake etc. that had running water. Upon check out, I asked if I could have some concessions for my stay. It was not worth paying full price for rooms with no water. The front desk clerk said we would normally credit you 50% for one of your stays, but since your reservation was made through a 3rd party there is nothing we can do but give you a breakfast voucher. ????? The correct thing to do is to give me a voucher for a free night at one of your hotels to try to redeem yourself. read more

Old and dirty, extremely lazy and unprofessional staff, and an attitude that is downright rude. The food is terrible -- breakfast was so unorganized. Cold food served and limited staff. It was truly a poor experience and likely they should close the restaurant if they are unable to raise the standards to even average. I asked 2 times for my room to be cleaned and never was done. Asked for a manger and apparently none are working. Again it is the "I don't care" attitude and the signs of a poorly managed hotel. Very sad and extremely disappointed! read more

Horrible customer service! I was told I would be reimbursed for taking a taxi after calling three times to be picked at the airport by their free shuttle service. Each time I was told the shuttle was on the way. I stood right next to pole 16 underneath the hotel shuttle sign where they told me to stand. I waited there for 55 minutes before calling to inform them that I would be taking a taxi, which I was told the taxi driver would be reimbursed for. He was not. Jasmine the front desk associate explained to me over the phone that they would reimburse my taxi driver if he simply came in to the front desk with the receipt. When I arrived I was then told in person by the same person, Jasmine, that he would be reimbursed. When he came in with the receipt suddenly it was decided that they could not reimburse him and they would have to reimburse me. Which was fine with me, BUT then after telling me that they would reimburse me all of sudden they couldn't or they could only put it to the room or if I wanted to buy room service. I explained to them that I was here for work and that my company had already paid for the room. Also, that I was missing the dinner I was supposed to attend that evening because I waited to be picked up at the airport for 55 minutes and because I was standing there speaking to them about this issue that is still unresolved. They said their hands were tied at that point. I have worked in customer service and this was by far some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. You don't tell someone that the shuttle is on its way when it clearly isn't, or you explain to that guest that the shuttle just left the airport and it will probably take another 30-45 minutes for another one to arrive. In that case, I could have decided then to take a taxi and not wait 55 minutes. ALSO, you DO NOT tell someone you can reimburse them over the phone and in person and then DO NOTHING!!!! read more

All hotel employees super friendly and helpful. Front desk and restaurant service excellent. Bed and pillows were comfortable, room okay. Hotel is a little dated from the 70's conference center set up with all the rooms overlooking and surrounding the lobby. Room was quite noisy with loud heater/air conditioning unit, airplanes overhead, doors slamming and miscellaneous other loud noises. Typical Holiday Inn breakfast. Overall good value for hotel stay. read more

This was a great facility. Our stay was not ok for the price. I really wish we could've stayed at the Marriott across the street. The entire hotel was booked solid for the weekend and you would have thought it was the first time the hotel opened for business. Completely understaffed. Could not get clean towels, when requested, they were catching up... The elevator situation was horrific. Two of four were shut down all of Friday and Saturday. One would think if you had pre booked two NCAA women's teams, a boys softball team and and entire league of soccer parents and players, elevators and staffing would have been scheduled to meet capacity. Next time our team has a choice to pick a hotel for this tournament we will book elsewhere. I'm posting this everywhere. One last thing with safety, there are sketchy signs that say park at your own risk? I didn't see any surveillance cameras. Heard of break ins on vehicles. Kinda of spooky in my opinion. You got sleep on spring bed!!! Burger is 12 box and Arline chicken is 30 dollars under the same roof!!! Sofas in lobby is as dirty as my granny's place where she lived herself for decades. I stayed for five minutes-caught five mosquitos. Host to the restaurant because it's that's where I get cheap food! Have I asked you where can I find cheap food? the worst hotel ive stayed in so far. there was a fire alarm going off on the first day, and twice the second night, and staff told us to return to our rooms when there was a thick burning smell. we stayed in room 503 and killed two roaches and our room wasn't cleaned beforehand, the beds were dirty there was trash on the floor and the refrigerator didn't even work. i DO NOT recommend staying here. read more

Visited recently for the UT Football Recruiting celebration. The lobby has been completely renovated since my last visit, and it looks great. I was able to hang out and catch up on some work before the event. The lobby has a Starbucks and a place to get snacks. The recruiting event was in a huge room with plenty of room for everyone, and the catered food was good. I live in Memphis so I have no need to stay here, but highly recommend it if you are in town for business. read more

A tired Hilton located in one of those crazy round high rises from the 1960s. The rooms are dreary and drab. This is an old building with less-than-recent renovations and it shows. On a positive note, the floor-to-ceiling windows provide a fabulous view. The elevators are DANGEROUS! We were stuck in them twice! We also witnessed others get stuck too. They are so creaky and rickety...at least they are glass elevators. I'm not scared of elevators but theses were scary! The Club Level on the 26th floor serves a dinner in the evening - not just hors douvres like most club lounges. The problem is that the food is industrial quality...like something you would get at a school (or a prison?). Not so great. We had sliced beef the first night, breast of chicken in a cream sauce the second night, and chicken fajitas on the third night. Same quality with the breakfast, not much love put into this food. Great restaurants within a 5- minute drive: Owen Brennan's restaurant- Superb New Orleans food. A MUST! One & Only BBQ - Fantastic BBQ. read more

I've never stayed here (except for one night in 2003 when I was a Princess in Cotton Carnival and needed to sleep the night's festivities off...aka I don't really remember anything about the room because I was a blacked out 19 year old), but I've been here abagillion times to attend parties, banquets, fundraisers, etc. And I was here this past Saturday for an annual banquet aka the same event reproduced down to the last detail every year. The ballroom is standard and the staff is always lovely. I've never been too impressed with the food, but the facilities are clean, so that makes me happy. I think their rental fees are slightly overpriced, but, again, this is a super safe bet if you book an event here. I don't have anything bad to say, but there's nothing particularly memorable or special either. read more
