This review is mixed. I feel that is was good, but has the opportunity to be way better. To me it seems like it was another hotel and they just slapped the name Hilton in it without doing any form of repairs. I am okay with dated, but simple repairs is what did it for me. The front of the hotel was nothing special to look at, and I always found parking. We came for a conference at the Hilton. Our group was over 200 persons for the event. Not sure how many actually stayed there. The Pros: 1. Reception-( Check-in was smooth, they were friendly, Check in was at 4pm and they accommodated an early check in). 2. TV: Streaming was okay except when on YouTube, after a while it would sign you out. But for the majority of time, I could watch TV. 3. Coffee Shop in Lobby 4. Full length mirror 5. Bathroom lighting- Great! 6. Coffee supplies and Ice bucket 7. Bed- Great pillows, comfy bed and great bedding! 8. Service requests are responded to immediately. 9. Lots of outlets and USB for phone, etc. 10. Rooms dated but clean 11. Ball room- Spacious. 12. Plenty Facility rooms. 13. Gym. 14. Notice Board on 1st floor for your event. 15. Close to shopping and restaurants: Burlington, Denny's, Wing Stop and a few more places but they close early. The Cons: 1. Had to grab a cart and bring your own baggage upstairs- maybe I'm just spoiled. 2. The Outlet for the fridge and the coffee wasn't working although they were plugged in when I came. So no one used that room before? That's odd. They came with another fridge but that wasn't the issue. *In my friend's room, their fridge didn't work and toilet didn't work. 3. Safe- Wasn't working. Thought it needed a change of batteries but actually needed a whole repair. 4. Tub- Had a little creature in it. Not a big deal but they should check the rooms prior to check in. 5. Room- Needs more lighting- To dark. 6. Bar/cafe: Close to early. There was an event they should have had the facilities open late for persons who did not want to leave the hotel to buy food. This could've generated money inside the hotel, but I don't own a hotel so what do I know? 7. Cafe: Pricey There are more Pros than Cons and so I would stay here again!! They just need to do a few updates and they're good!! read more

Shoutout to Antonio who checked me in and was amazing, friendly, and helpful (he told me Hilton Gold members got $30/night to spend at the restaurant or bar or hotel in general (no Hilton employee has ever told me that before.) We also bonded over Disney and California and he was so nice! Diane was wonderful serving me at the bar. I loved the hotel and my (upgraded) room. It was slightly dated, but spacious and clean and welcoming. The hotel is pretty big and the parking lot is too. There were quite a few kids' sports teams staying there. I must confess that this is not a new review, though it is sort of an update. As a writer I have been embarrassed whenever I look at this review because of the typos, mostly caused by me not correcting the darn spell check! So I am pasting in the same review and making corrections. I can't help myself! "We came here for a weekend conference, so we spent two nights here. The Hilton Altamonte provided me with the finest accommodation I have experienced from a hotel in many years. Granted we tend to stay in lower echelon motels - think Red Roof or the like - but this hotel was also better than the similar hotel the past few conferences has used. The booking process online was smooth, once I found my password. When the date drew close, a text message suggested I download their app, which I could use to bypass the front desk and check in as well as choose our room and set up a virtual room key on my phone. I selected a room next to the elevators as my wife has mobility issues. At first it told me I still needed to have the virtual key activated at the front desk, but after we arrived there and I walked to the desk, the app changed its virtual mind and said the key was all set. I shared it so that my wife also had the virtual key. The woman at the front desk was efficient and very friendly. She offered a physical key also in case the virtual one acted up. Twice the virtual key didn't want to unlock the door, but the second time I stepped back and then back up to the door and it recognized it. On the first night there was odd finger food, such as Mac and cheese loaf and cheese, but heck, I grew up in a middle class family with six kids, so it's not like I haven't had baloney, or sea shells and tomato soup many times before this. They also had a sauté station in the corner with rigatoni pasta, onions and other veggies and choice of sauce, and that was good enough to eat while listening to music and watching people dance by. I don't know if the sound system was provided by the hotel or our group, but it worked without a hitch all weekend. On the second night, we had a catered meal followed by entertainment. The meal was terrific. I don't usually select fish in this sort of situation, but the chicken and beef hadn't appealed. In any case the food was superb. My wife is great at cooking fish at home, but she agreed that this fish was done exquisitely. The carrot and mashed potatoes were also just right. Chocolate cake came as dessert. I am not a chocolate cake fan but it was fine. The next day we had lunch off their lunch menu there at the U restaurant. Not a lot of choices, but plenty enough for us. We had cheeseburgers (which come with potato chips), with sweet potato fries and onion rings on the side. Again, the burger was cooked perfectly, juicy but not undercooked. The side orders were very good also. All in all, the meal was much better than one we had eaten at a respected outside restaurant the day before. Go figure! What about our room? Well, let's see. We had a room with two queen beds that still seemed roomy enough. It was clean, the shower was so roomy and great I wished I could take it home with me. The ice machines were on every floor, including just around the corner from our room. The room was too cool so we turned the unit off, and our room was fine after that. There were plenty of tv channels, but we brought a flash drive with shows I have downloaded, so I pressed the "source" button on the remote so we could continue watching shows we are currently enjoying. I don't want to go on and on. The parking is free, the room comes with a fridge, a two-cup coffee pot, and there are shampoo and shower gel tubes on the shower wall; yeah I was satisfied with the hotel and the friendly staff we interacted with. I mean, the place is much pricier than our usual haunts on the road, so it should be great, but judging from a few other reviews, some weren't as satisfied. Are they really picky or am I an easy grader? Who knows? read more

Rudest front desk manager "Ashley" with punk reddish hair and facial piercings.... Threatened to call animal control on my service dogs, bc they were barking due to children running wild up and down the hallways making a lot of noise all night. also the children were "barking" through the door once they heard dogs were in there making the matter worse. No parents or guardians in sight. The entire hotel was filled with loud obnoxious children from cheer competitions and various other sports teams. It should give people warning who want a normal stay that the hotel is going to be overrun with children making noise all night long. She was super rude and never did anything to get back to us regarding our concerns just said she would and never did. It's illegal to remove service dogs from their owners but we found a dog boarder for the remainder of our stay to keep the peace I didn't have time to deal with Ashley and her rude attempts so scare me about the wellbeing of my service animal while was there on a work trip with my spouse.... the least they could have done was reimburse us a night since I had to pay $300 for a dog sitter. None of those things were made right- luckily the medical reason that we have the service dog is for my husbands epilepsy but luckily we didn't have any episodes while we were there without the dog to warn us of the incoming seizure. Also, when he went to speak to her about the situation she said "oh yea I already spoke to that older lady about the dogs before." I'm 38, I'm no spring chicken but that remark was just rude Referring to me. She knew she was being a jerk no real professional conducts themselves like she did and calls to leave voicemails threatening to call animal control bc there are dogs barking in a hotel room. A bit dated but really nice inside. The open lobby and the large room we were in with a big tv and mini fridge were good for our one night stay. The hotel is near the highway but we didn't hear the traffic while inside. The only downside was the noisy a/c unit that clunked on and off loudly and ran loudly too; made for a disturbing sleep. read more

The hotel was recently renovated. The lobby and hallways are newly refurbished. Our hotel room seems fine, until we take a closer look. The backout curtain is broken (my pet peeve!), the bathroom is poorly designed, and some of the outlets are malfunction. The tiles in the bathroom may have e been installed on top of the old ones, as the floor mat doesn't stay with opening and closing of the door. The toilet paper holders were installed with the wrong hardwares (oh, trust me, i know!), and is too close to the toilet: it's uncomfortable to get the toilet paper, and the rolls kept falling off. The bathroom curtain hanger was installed crooked and too low, such that the shower curtain is way too long inside the tub. Our refrigerator broke, resulting in spoiled food, and stinky room :( Many of these mishaps may seem too small to mention, but the lack of attention to detail made me wonder of the bed sheets/floor/couch/towers are indeed clean... We used points to book the room for a soccer trip. Not sure of that's an issue. It could just be the area. read more

Then the manager came over to ask me about dessert and then when I tried to order it, they told me kitchen was closed. I stayed here while traveling for work. The location was great for where my meeting was but it also was really close to a lot of great food options. The room was clean, large and felt like it had been updated recently. I was able to check in seamlessly. There is a bar/restaurant downstairs that I did not go into but I did have breakfast at the small store that serves Starbucks. Lots of parking around the building. I will stay here again. read more

Unfortunately this was not a good stay. As a loyal Hilton Honors member I was little shocked when the shower decided it didn't want to do its job and just quit. I not only did I get to be a guest but also a maintenance team employee since I couldn't get any help. I am happy to say that no toes were harmed. read more

The hotel was horrible. There was some rain and our windows started leaking. Then we talked to management and apparently there were leaks in "all" the rooms. Talked to some other families staying there and their rooms were also leaking water. But that's not even it! The ceiling in one part of the lobby was also leaking. In addition the manager wasn't helpful at all not even offering to change rooms. We thought it couldn't get worse, but apparently they don't know how to spell fire either. This is one of the worst Hiltons we've ever stayed in and we are gold members so we've stayed in a bunch. The room was not clean didn't appear to be vacuumed either. the sheets were very wrinkled and appeared to have been slept in. Nobody would answer the front desk phone so that we might get any help. They also weren't large enough to properly fit the bed, There were 2 plugs along all of the wall the bed was on. No place to charge phones sleeping on either side of the bed. The "restaurant" had 2 1/2 tables, the rest was a bar. We were told this place had a restaurant, but I don't consider two and a half tables a restaurant with 2 TV's blaring football, so that you can't have a conversation. The waiter was fantastic but can't remember his name. he was well rewarded. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! We had a horrible experience. All night people were banging and kicking our door. The front desk were no help and could care less. We ended up leaving in the middle of the night because every time we fell asleep we were woken back up. If we didn't leave it would have just kept happening. This hotel is NOT SAFE and apparently doesn't have management around to help sort out these kind of things. We just want a refund and everyone is giving us the runaround. read more

Easy check-in. Room seemed clean. Most of the usb outlets didn't work but I always plan for that and bring a couple power blocks. My god is the AC unit loud! Quick hot water with good pressure. I did wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and noticed some ants in the bathroom sink but it wasn't a big deal. Accommodated a late check out request. My definition of a good hotel is a place I don't mind renting as if they were short-term Apartments. I love to have key essentials at an arms reach such as a coffee maker and refrigerators (or even better a mini-kitchen) depending on my trip duration; televisions with remotes for my oh so lazy nights after a busy day; a fully equipped bathroom stocked with towels, towelettes, a makeup mirror, and blow dryer; and an extremely comfy cloud (also known as a bed.) The Hilton provided all of these necessities at a great rate; plus, I was able to use my AAA discount and gained points towards my next reservations as a Hilton Honors member. Upon my arrival, I was a bit jealous when I noticed the Hilton Honors Gold members had reserved parking. LOL! But, one day I will be a Gold member! The receptionist greeting/check-in felt as if she welcomed me abroad an elaborate staycation which was definitely kudos. The environment throughout the hotel was more so of a business-casual environment which was very suitable for the architecture of the hotel. After a quick nap and refreshing myself for dinner out on the town, I was nervous about not finding parking on my return to the hotel or having to park so far away due to my late return.... I didn't have that probably at this Hilton location. Even though the parking lot that I parked in upon my arrival was full there was well-lit parking on the side of the hotel and within a short walking distance to the entrance of the hotel. If I loved this hotel that much, why the average or 3 star ranking? I love quality over quantity... they had so many pillows on what appeared to have been a very comfy bed. But, those pillows felt as if I was sleeping on a rock. I tried reducing to just one pillow in the middle of the night and that didn't work. Therefore, I went without pillows and realized sleeping on the bed - itself - was much more comfortable. read more

Both our families visited this lovely hotel July 2016; the staff was wonderful, we received free complimentary appetizers in the bar area & our breakfast buffet vouchers as well for every guest which was 6 of us total. The hotel was beautiful w/ it's decor, spacious & dining areas. Our room was grand & we had connecting door to our family which was nice & convenient. When we came back from visiting the beach; we all were hungry. So we decided to go to our floor which was key access only which was fancy so we can find us something to eat. We heard people talking on the floor @ the other end & decided to explore; once we got there we found out it's complimentary dinner & deserts for all the guests on this floor w/ key access (jackpot ). We were so excited & hurried to put our things away & came back on that end to eat. We all the selection was delicious; the only drawback was @ the time they had a issue w/ a lot of gnats which was on the desserts not covered. All the food was covered which was great so we can enjoy our food w/ having gnats on them. We would recommend this hotel in the future & hope they fixed the issue w/ the gnats. Staff was friendly so that's an improvement over other reviews. My biggest complaint was the HVAC. We had booked 5 rooms and each one had units that made VERY loud noises when they kicked on. So much so that in two rooms the occupants were awakened all night long each time it came on. No towel bars, in these days of limited maid service adequate towel bars are critical. And the waste baskets! They are designed for throwing away flat pieces of paper. Honestly, I've never seen a more useless design of a garbage receptacle. Also, when booking the rooms, we were mislead and booked via a third patty when we thought we were booking direct and therefor gained NO points for multiple rooms and multiple days. Stayed overnight after a long few days at universal because of the 1 pm checkout. We had adjourning rooms to accommodate all kids. Unfortunately housekeeping consistently came to the door starting at 8:50 am, waking all our kids. When we mentioned this to the front they offered us vouchers for breakfast 15 minutes before it ended. Not happy. Reception said there wasn't anything they could do besides apologize. read more
