This place is very nice on the inside, and the waitress we had was great. We always had water and she consistently checked on us. I got the chicken biryani and it was good! Definitely a large portion with enough for leftovers. If you want spice, even the hot isn't very spicy, but it is still tasty! The curries came with both rice and dal so that was great! The naan was also tasty! read more

Saag and garlic naan (plus enough for plenty of leftovers) was a delightful dinner. The service and dining room white tablecloths gave a classy, clean feel. Thank you for the warm welcome. When I looked at the menu and prices in the past I felt the prices were maybe more than surrounding restaurants. however, after our spontaneous visit, spectacular service, and great balance of flavors and spice, I see this as a primary place for special occasions... and fresh, authentic, delicious food! What a unique and wonderful meal! Four of us for dinner and we had a charming server and excellent food. The portions are huge. Even for big eaters who never want to share huge. But you also want to try different things! Our table had the Hamalayan Curry with chicken, the Himalayan Curry with lamb, the Thenduk stew, and the spinach with paneer. Plus momos and naan apps. Rice pudding dessert. Way to much food but lunch covered for a few days. Spice level was tasty and moderate per ordering "mild". Service had a few slooooww bumps so they gave us daal soups. Excellent. Its cozy, white tablecloths, definitely a dining experience not a quick stop. We will return. read more

Our grandson wanted to come here for lunch. Since we were in town for Christmas and his birthday, he got to choose! Although it is not the type of food we typically eat, we took the plunge. I am so glad we did! Our lunch was very tasty, different and great! Certainly, it was different for me and it was very good. We had wonderful service, and had a wonderful lunch together. Highly recommend! I will bring him back in the future! read more

Tried this restaurant on my daughters recommendation. It was great. We had two little ones with us and the server was very helpful and accommodating. It's very clean and comfortable. There are several tables and booths inside. A great little bar to sit at and a small outdoor area for nicer weather. We ordered the dumplings as an appetizer and they were very good. Had the chicken tikka masala and the Korma with Chicken. Both dishes were served with rice and we ordered garlic, cheese nann. It was all very good with good, rich flavors. Service was friendly. Yum! First time in believe it or not, and I have been missing out! Daughter and I came in for lunch midweek afternoon. Service was fantastic - friendly and informative. Our server answered questions and checked in on us regularly. We shared the chicken tikka masala entree and the Himalayan curry entree, both spiced "medium". Each came with a starter of lentil dal soup and a side of rice. We added garlic naan (naturally) and a chai tea. Hot for me, iced for her. The chai was such a nice treat before the meal. Spiced and satisfying. The lentil soup was amazing. Once our meal arrived, we scooped out some of each entree and took our time to savor the flavors. Add a piece of naan (you get 4 triangles per order) and you've got yourself a delicious meal! We saved enough for us to each have a smaller second meal. Total price was $49 before tip, it I also added a rice pudding to go and we'll get two meals out of it, so that's a win in my book! read more

I took a girlfriend to lunch today at Himalayan Bistro and everything was first rate! The food, the environment, and Mattie, the server, were all 5 star! And it's cool to take half the entree and rice home for another delicious dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant when you want delicious cuisine that will make you want to return to try other items on the menu. And if you have a group what fun it would be to try several entrees family style. Suggestion for lunch: If two of you, you might share an entree so that you can order two appetizers (like Papadum and Shrimp) and two of the Mango ice cream (so creamy.) The extra variety is such fun without breaking the bank. Whatever you decide, Himalayan Bistro is definitely worth your time and money -- it's a quality dining experience -- they do so many things right!!! This place is in a shopping center that has range of food choices that we visited for a weekend l7nch We were promptly greeted and seated. Very courteous and polite staff. We started with drink of Iced Chai, Mango Lacce, and Organic green tea. All were very flavorful. The lacce is great for cooling some of the spice in the food. For appetizers we had: Chicken momo: Indian dumplings which were different as they had curry which my daughter didn't like much but we enjoyed. Garlic Naan: not over cooked and visible pieces of garlic, can't complain about the sauces either. Samosas: decent size, they come as a 2 piece. Entrees: Kids Chicken fried rice: uses basmati rice and can select spiciness which my daughter selected mild but she enjoyed it. Himalayan Curry Chicken: good amount of chicken, a unique combination of spices but a great taste. Selected a medium spice which was not too hot. Coconut Curry Chicken: as with the other a good amount of chicken, a nice combination of the spices and coconut as to not have either over power. Overall a good Indian restaurant although not top for us since we compare it to Indian Bar and Grill in Chaska, MN but definitely worth a try. read more

The food here is amazing!! I love curry and this place does a great job. They have a garlic curry and a coconut curry that both are delicious! Shrimp was a good pairing with the coconut curry and the lamb was good with the garlic curry. This was one of my favorite restaurants until Last night. Everything was bad the Dal soup was water no flavor. The lamb was chewy. The rice looked like sushi rice. The Saag was just creamed spinach. Never going back -sad about it. This place is usually busy but I noticed not last night on a Saturday because the quality has changed. I even asked if there was s different chef? Wow! Our experience tonight for dinner was AMAZING! From service to food to drinks, we were absolutely blown away. We ordered two cocktails to start (with the help of our lovely server as to what would be sweet/ refreshing/ strong etc) We ordered the gingered peach margarita, and the pomegranate rose martini, Which we both liked and would recommend. Then we ordered momo which are dumplings and though I didn't get a picture, they were good and again would definitely recommend. Next came our meal and second order of drinks. We ordered the Himalayan curry with chicken - 5stars! (They even ask you your preferred heat/spice level) our second drinks were the blue pineapple margarita and the non-alcoholic mango flavored LASSI which they explain is An authentic Indian drink that satisfies your sweet tooth, Try it after a spicy meal for a cool treat. My son liked the Lassi but not as much as my partner and I. It was thick like a yogurt drink and a tiny bit savory like it had tumeric or spices in it. Okay - the soup... (served before dinner) it was so friggin good! We even asked our server if we could get a quart to go home My son (4) was pleased with his order of cheesy naan. Thank you Himalayan restaurant for the wonderful dinner with an upscale yet casual atmosphere, and the most amazing service. P.s. out server's name is Kallea and she was delightful. She gave recommendations on both food and drink, she gave us the perfect amount of attention to feel waited on but not bothered. Met friends here for lunch, while they had been here before, I had not. The interior is very clean and well portioned. Our waitress was very friendly and on top of service. Food was absolutely amazing!!! I had the Paneer Tika Masala, also tried my friend's orders, the Chicken Tika Masala, the Biryani, and Tandoori Chicken which had huge pieces of meat! It all was delicious! Mine, so rich and creamy, with a touch of sweet, medium was the perfect amount of heat for me. I am looking forward to returning. Since we live in Firestone, it is more a destination meal, but will bring my husband, he is going to love the Tandoori with those vegetables. read more

Terrific food and service! I had the Momo dumplings (beef) and they were delicious -- the meat had a great flavor by itself, and the dumpling skin had just the right amount of "chewiness". Add in the "achar" sauce, not too spicy and full of flavor -- a great dish in every way. My spouse had the Thenduk stew (with lamb), with a flavorful broth and tons of veggies and meat and just a little spicy. The service was just right, not hovering but very attentive. This place deserves zero stars, just so we're clear. Wow, horrible experience after horrible experience with this place. Way too small of a restaurant, horribly trained staff (every single one has an attitude), and the food (not even very good or authentic) is WAY overpriced. Went here for a small birthday gathering and was given a table right next to the kitchen... so odd to place a table right next to a major walk-way for staff. Asked for another one, the host rolled her eyes and gave us another one. But it gets worse. We're all seated next to these high school or whatever girls who wouldn't stop staring at us. They must have been insecure about how they were dressed and smelled. Disgusting... we left before we even got our drinks. Go anywhere else for the love of God. This place does not deserve good business. read more

In my combo I had: chicken momos, desi dal, a chicken curry (I forget which one - it was the one the server recommended when I said I preferred mild/medium spice), rosemary naan, and gulab jamun. My friend started and ended with the same appetizer and dessert, but otherwise chose the dal makhani, chicken vindaloo, and garlic naan. We both had chai to drink. Everything was so good! I have to say that I was glad to have asked for mild/medium spice - it was right at the edge but not over my tolerance level. If there was a reason not to share combos it would be because we'd fight over the momos - it was a good thing we had 2 orders. Both dals were tasty, but I think I will stick with dal makhani in the future. I wish I could remember which curry I had because it was unlike anything I've tried before and delicious. I had a taste of the vindaloo, too - I enjoyed the bite I had, but with the spice level I couldn't have eaten a whole serving. The gulab jamun was the best I've ever had - completely soaked through with the syrup giving it the most delightful texture. My lunch buddy likened it to homemade. The service was helpful but not overbearing - offering opinions on the menu when asked, checking in to make sure we were happy, explaining a little bit about regional Indian food (eg the inclusion of Indo-Chinese on the menu), etc. It was nice that the owner stopped by to thank us for coming in, and that our server kept the chai flowing. The johl sauce they came with was spicy, tangy, and was a great contrast to the deep spices, but that cumin flavor was always there to hit you on the back-end of every bite. Mainly, I just have beef with cumin. It reminds me too much of the "taco seasoning" my mom would use for ground beef tacos - a Caucasian staple, and my least favorite meal.

Perfect balance of flavor and heat, and they even made it extra hot for me without me asking this time. We came in for our second visit and the guy working recognized us from before and remembered I like it spicy, so he told the kitchen to kick it up a notch. That kind of attention is awesome and the result was easily the best vindaloo I've had in Colorado. My wife had the saag paneer, which was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor, and the kids ordered butter chicken, which she absolutely devoured. Always a good sign when the kids' plates come back empty. The food is fantastic, the spice levels are legit if you ask for them, and the staff clearly care about their customers. We'll definitely keep coming back. If you like real flavor and real heat, this place is a must.

We also got some chai and the owner insisted on giving us a small order of naan. It was DELICIOUS! I tried a bite of my spouse's and it was delicious. My korma was amazing, as usual. And the naan! It's good regardless but I highly recommend getting it if you dine-in because it's crispy in a way that getting it as take-out diminishes. The chai was so delicious and I wish I knew how they make it so good, it's never that good at home. I hope we can dine-in again soon. It was such a great experience.
