Worst Service!!!! The menu is different than the internet(I had looked up on Google). They didn't have what we looked up on the internet menu and photos. If you don't have the item, please don't keep a picture of it on the Internet! The server Savanna's behavior towards us was a bit racist. Our food was not served, when there were quite a few other tables whose food was served even though they had come in 30 mins after we came in. She responded to my concern for the food being late saying "The wait time is 1 hour." I wanna ask, is it for real? 1 hr? We decided to get togo. And, later found out they had sent us Thenduk soup with no pasta. (the soup, for sure is a pre-prepared ingredient). $20 worth thenduk prepared in 1 hour is probably a pre-prepared soup!!!!! not cooked to its authenticity! I wouldn't go back to the place. A rainy Sunday had us looking for a place to relax and a warm meal. The smells that greeted us as soon as we opened the door were so amazing. The restaurant was not busy when we first arrived, but was soon bustling with diners and quite a few takeout orders. The food was good, but delivered sporadically as when the naan showed up by itself, but then about 15 minutes later the spinach Saar, to be eaten with rice and Naan showed up. There appears to only be two servers, who were very busy, but it took over two hours for our meal to be finished which was not anticipated. Oftentimes, food was delivered and there was no place to set down the blazing hot skillets because the dishes from appetizer plates had not been cleared yet. We were able to stack the dishes ourselves, but it was something that we noted would be easy to fix. read more

Due to good reviews I was excited to order take out from here. I came in about 5 minutes after opening hours to what appeared to be a 1/2 complete dining room with two servers sitting at the bar with one braiding the other one's hair. Gross. The one braiding didn't stop what she was doing so I had to ask if they were open because the sign at the door still said closed. The server braiding said they were and I said I would just like to order take out. She stated, without asking anything else about what I'm ordering and making it blatantly clear she wasn't interested in my business, that it will be 40 minutes. The whole vibe was awkward and like I was inconveniencing them with my presence. Yeah, I'm going to take a big pass on this place. Braiding another persons hair in dining room set for service - Ew! Also, I'm not about to throw $75 at a take out order at an establishment that very clearly doesn't want or need business. Go to Bawarchi Biryanis. Live this place! It's not always easy to find vegetarian Momo's that are a regular item on the menu, so we were happy to find this place! And boy, are they delicious! The achar sauce is heavenly - I'm tempted to just eat that on its own. While I normally order the vegetable Momo's, I've also had the Tibetan Noodles and the Vegetable Thupka - both were delicious! Also great is the dal soup that comes with your meal. Himalayan Bistro is one of our go-to restaurants when visiting Fort Collins. You won't go wrong here! read more

It was our first time trying this restaurant. I have been driving pass by and the outside looks great. As soon as we walked in, the host was very welcoming and seated us quickly. The server showed up later with a very nice smile. The inside looks really great with all the Nepalese decors. The smell from the kitchen made us very excited. We ordered the chicken Tikka Masala and the lamb Tandoori for entrees. The vegetable MoMo (dumplings) was our appetizer. Our drinks were Chai tea and the mango Lassi. To rank, we gave the both entrees no.1, and the MoMo no.2. The drinks were great too. We were satisfied with everything (Food and service). We ordered both Extra hot and it was a bit too much should have got only Hot lol. The food was delicious and fresh. Great job! Happy to see more diverse food in Fort Collins. Sometimes the wait for your order can take a little longer than other places, but that's what you get when you're waiting for quality. My first thought upon entering this restaurant was "Holy crap, i'm in the Himalayas." The atmosphere, the smell of the food wafting from the kitchen, and the friendly people all evoked a Nepalese mountain adventure. My second thought, however, was "Oh crap, that means YETIS." Yetis are a very real problem for many people in the Himalayas, so don't you get on my case about it. Tampering my fears of being dismembered and eaten by bigfoot's angrier cousin, I sat down and ordered the Korma curry, and chose Shrimp for protein, and medium for my spice (I like spicy, and medium had the perfect burn). I received the cutest little bowl of some type of soup. Apparently it just comes with the meal, so yay! Along with the main dish was a fun bronze bowl full of Basmati rice, and I had to resist my initial instinct to tuck it discretely in my jacket and take it home with me. The lunchtime crowd had the place pretty jumpin', and there were only two young ladies for the whole restaurant. But they were everywhere, popping up every time they were needed, taking care of everyone effortlessly. By the end, I began to suspect clones. I would definitely go back here again: the food, service, and atmosphere are well worth the dangers posed by Yetis and Clones. read more

Girl's night out - my friend's first time trying Nepalese food, my first time to Himalayan Bistro. Our server was great. Very attentive and patient. I ordered a hot chai. While it took longer than expected, it was delicious. I wanted to be able to introduce my friend to several different entrees so we ordered a lot of food: vegetable samosas, garlic naan, saag paneer (not in the dinner menu but they have it and you can order it), tandoori mahi mahi, and chicken tikka masala. All of it was pretty darn good. That chicken tikka masala was about as good as I've had. I typically like saag a bit creamier, but now we're just splitting hairs. They also serve this really delicious, slightly spicy lentil soup with their entrees which I really enjoyed. And because we ordered so much food, we have plenty of leftovers! The ambiance was nice. I'll recommend this place to friends, and return at some point when I'm back in Fort Collins. Well, done! read more

Wanted to try this place tonight, checked the website and it said open until 9. Drove 25 minutes and arrived at 8:25 (Friday night). We were told they were closed. When I asked about the posted hours I was told the doors are open until 9, but the kitchen is closed. Pretty confusing policy. read more

This is probably the Indian in me talking but, this place was pretty average for a bistro. The service was good but really slow. I had to wait literally 10 minutes to get a refill of water. The food was more hot than spicy. I am posting images of two very different dishes, they looked exactly alike and tasted pretty close too. The chicken wasn't cooked well. The Aloo Paratha had no flavor at all. It was more like a butter soaked thick Roti. The rice was ok, but a very small portion for the price charged. The ambience is good, the service can be more efficient, and if managed well, with the location it should do really well. The food needs work. It's probably really good Nepali food, but mediocre Indian food. I'm giving them 3 stars because maybe I didn't order the right stuff, although this was what my waitress recommended. I'll probably try again when I make up my mind to be brave enough to give it a second shot. read more

Oh, Yelp. If only you allowed partial stars! Honestly, this restaurant was a 3.5 for me, but to be transparent I asked the waitress what her favorite item was and then ordered something different. So, perhaps it's on me. To begin, we started with the veggie dumplings (which she did recommend as a house fav) and they were fantastic. Packed with A variety of seasonings and flavors and cooked to perfection. For our entrées my dining companion and I both ordered the coconut chicken curry. This is what was just "ok" to me. I asked for it to be spicy and it was very bland. Not a lot to be excited about. No veggies and very basic. It also came with the Dal soup which was extremely underwhelming to me. I wouldn't order either again. With all that said, the decor is precious and the drink menu lengthy. I will be back to try one of our waitresses suggestions next time. read more

We ate here last night with friends. We really enjoyed it. The coconut curry seemed to be the big winner of the night. My husband and daughter had that and both loved it. They adjust the spice based on your preference. My husband likes a lot of spice and my daughter likes it mild. Both were pleased with the flavor and the spice level. So they didn't have to spice it hot to get great flavor. I had the stew and it was good. I felt like it could have used a little more flavor so I probably will try something else next time. We shared an appetizer of the dumplings and the orange sauce that came with them was amazing. It had so many yummy flavors and a nice little heat. We weren't drinking cocktails so I can't speak to those. The service was great and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We will be back. read more
