Wanted a variety of options to try, so started with samosas before adding different types of chicken dishes and breads. I asked for the dishes to be 8 out of 10 for heat - and oh boy were they spicy! But the spice was enough to give the dishes some delicious taste. I sprinkled some mango chutney to add some sweetness. Bread was soft. Service was good - waiter always made sure my water glass was full. The interior decor represents some of the attractions of Nepal. All in all, I can't wait to go again to try some more spicy dishes.

We had the garlic butter naan, lamb curry, saag paneer, & chana masala, & all were delicious. The place is clean, which is really important to me. I'd come here again.

Really good food that was exactly what I needed to warm my belly. It was a Wednesday and a quiet rainy night, and as I was the only person in the restaurant, the service was great! It was not the fanciest place in town by far, but it was clean and seemed to be kept well. I ordered the chicken momos, lamb korma, and garlic naan. The chicken momos were heavenly! Stuffed with a meaty and herbaceous filling and accompanied by a wonderful chili chutney. The kormas flavor was extraordinary; however, I should have asked for spicy, since being in Santa Barbara, I think they toned down the heat for the locals and with a bit more heat it would have been one of the best I have had! The garlic naan could have had more garlic and was slightly too toasted that it got crispy. My unsweetened masala chai also was very warming and smooth. I would definitely return when in the area.

Food:10/10 for my order. Service: Friendly and welcoming! Ambiance: Super, it looks tiny, but it is great. It is a great place to taste the Himalayan food!

They will give you the cheapest quality paper plate, the cheapest and thinnest spoons ever one can imagine. And then they will fill the entire chicken vindaloo with potatoes. No wonder why they are falling these days.

Walked by this place and decided to give it a shot! It didn't disappoint any one of us. My son cannot handle spicy food, so this place was perfect for him as you can order your food with the level of spiciness from 1 to 10. We ordered mango lassi, lamb and chicken momos, and non vegetarian Thali, which came with a meat curry of your choice(chicken, lamb, or goat), naan, rice, daal, and paneer, and rice pudding at dessert. Everything was simply delicious. The naan was particularly memorable, as I've never had such yummy naan before. It came straight from the oven, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The price may seem like they r on the higher side, but the portions are just huge! They do have indoor and outdoor dining. All tables were spaced out 6 ft apart. The server was very helpful. If we ever visit again, we are coming back to this place!

We came for the buffet but they'd stopped offering it due to the Covid19 pandemic. Understandably. I decided to instead order my favorites. Tandoori chicken, saag paneer and chicken tikka masala. My husband and I devoured everything. Truly some of the best saag paneer I've had and same with the tikka masala. This was our first time trying Himalayan Kitchen in SB in State Street. We couldn't find another Indian restaurant we'd previously fined at. I think they closed- so we were thrilled to discover this gem! Highly recommend. It was excellent!

When I came with a friend for dinner, it was pretty empty (but again it was a Monday night) and most people got takeout. They have outdoor and indoor tables which are very distanced!! the place is really COVID safe I got the non-vegetarian special thali with chicken. I thought you would be able to choose the vegetarian dish that comes with it but it actually just comes with saag paneer (maybe you can ask to sub though?) The menu says it comes with sliced cucumbers and achar but unfortunately didn't see any on the plate ): The chicken curry was utterly DELICIOUS (5/5) and you can get it spicy or regular (spice 1-10). I got 5 and it wasn't too spicy so I'd get a 7 or so next time. overall super flavorful. Saag paneer was sooo creamy and seasoned so well (I'd also rate 5/5) The daal was also nice but not my favorite (4/5) The rice was a bit dry for my liking but the dish also comes with naan which I prefer anyways so it wasn't a big deal. You also get rice pudding which has a chai like flavor and isn't overly sweet.

Chana masala bus down for a real one. It tastes so buttery soft and good flavor and good rice yayy. The portion is good for a good filling one person meal. I really like the interior and the servers r nice and i would come again

They were open on Thanksgiving day, which was a winner for us since we were staying in the general area. The service here was great and the food was as expected for Nepalese/Himalayan. Chicken momos were really good, although a tiny bit oily. We had the chicken tikka masala, the paneer, some naan and the mixed grill. The mixed grill was quite a dish - think of it as a Nepalese fajitas dish.

Love love love! Found this gem on Yelp on a roadtrip from LA to the bay. My bestie and I were craving chicken tikka masala and Himalayan Kitchen was perf! Located in the heart of SB. Took about 5 minutes to get to the restaurant from the 101. Located on State St. in Santa Barbara, which can be pretty busy, so park on one of the smaller streets and take a little stroll to the restaurant. Came here on a Saturday around 3PM. We were greeted and seated as soon as we got there since it wasn't too busy. Ordered two orders of the chicken tikka masala since we like different amounts of spice. It comes with basmati rice and we got an order of garlic nan. We also ordered the cheese pakora which was a tad bit bland, but we were starving so we ate it lol! We both left feeling satisfied with happy tummys! Would definitely come back when Im back in SB!

Welcome to flavor town! We took my neighbor and husband here for her birthday. None of us are very experienced Indian food eaters but we love adventure! The curb appeal and inside isn't much to be excited for but the food is jam packed with delicious seasoning. Unfortunately they were out of Yak when we asked, so instead we go the Lamb Momos. Delish starter. The best part was the sauce that came with them. And for someone that can't handle spice it had no kick! So I got to enjoy it. We all ordered something of a different style. I had the Tse Phing (vegetable mung bean noodles) which was light and easy on the tummy, which is my style. If you want to go heavier I'd go for the chow chow, made with thicker noodles. I'd call it an Indian take on spaghetti or Chow Mein. I loved that dish too. My fiancé got the Mixed Sekuwa which came out almost a half hour after ours...not fun to watch other people eat, but he was a good sport. But man, It was well worth the wait! It came out sizzling and made quite the entrance. It had all the types of meat over sweet caramel used onions. I was hovering over his food after once it arrived. We also had garlic Naan which was a great addition to soak up all the left over juices from our meals. We did have lots of left overs since portions are bountiful! Gotta love left overs :) You definitely pay a pretty penny and don't get that great of service. But I'd say it's worth it for the authenticity and quantity of the food. This place definitely has me interested in trying more Indian cuisine.

It doesn't look like your typical Indian restaurant. The food was fresh and flavorful and I love that they care about where it's sourced. We'll definitely be coming back! It's my new favorite Indian restaurant. The server was very knowledgeable and friendly, and our food came out quickly. The only nit-picky criticism is that I do wish it had a more intimate and darker atmosphere, especially for dinner. It felt a bit sterile and looked more like a lunch spot. But they had really cool dishware/cups/utensils! The owners have good taste.

It was good .... but First, it's located on State. If you've been to the area, you know what parking is like. If you don't - find street parking and walk. Or grab a spot in a lot or garage and walk. I opted for the garage. I don't remember how much it was. I didn't need to sell an organ tho ... Walked in. Lively. Not too loud though. Seemed to be a decent crowd for a Saturday night. No wait. I made a reservation. Host seated us immediately - even having gotten there early. Think, "Ran" time. Service was good. Attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Off to the food ... We shared the following: Crispy Cauliflower, Garlic Naan, Basmati Rice, Butter Chicken and the Special (Halibut). We liked the meal but both agreed on the following - the appetizer (Cauliflower) is definitely shareable. For more than two people We both started feeling stuffed just before the entrees arrived. I guess we could have stopped as opposed to clearing the plate. For our taste, we would have enjoyed the Naan more if had had more garlic. It was a hint. We enjoyed the Butter Chicken and Basmati Rice. At least I did. However, we both didn't care for the Halibut. If you know the fish, you know it's lean, not fatty so you want to make sure you don't overcook it. Which it was for my preference. If the dish is intentionally cooked this way, then we both just aren't fans. I'm used to Halibut being tender, juicy and flaky. See the pics - what this reminded me was like white meat chicken. We didn't send it back nor take it to go as we did try it and took out about a third of the dish. Another tidbit to share - no hot tea. No big deal, I ordered it iced - but just mentioning it as an FYI. So, would I go back? Undecided. I enjoy ethnic foods, including Indian but I don't live nearby and there's so many other restaurants I haven't been to. But if I were in the area, craving Indian, I'd consider it.

The samosas are a must, and I almost always order the bowl combo, which comes with your choice of one entrée and basmati rice, then add the garlic naan because it is perfectly pillowy and way too easy to finish. Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Vindaloo are both heavy on my rotation, so clearly I know what I like. The portions are generous, everything travels well, and the prices are reasonable. And I need to mention their drinks because I'm slightly obsessed with the iced chai and mango lassi. Both are very much part of the order now.
