This is easily my favorite Indian restaurant in Ventura, and the flavors come closest to those that I am used to in Mumbai. Every single item was outstanding. I could even tailor the Shahi Paneer to be made Kadhai Paneer style after placing the order through Doordash by calling the restaurant. I happened to mention this was for my birthday, and they sent me two Mango Lassis with a sweet birthday note! Indian Rasoi has become one of my neighborhood go-tos for Indian food. It's a small, family-owned restaurant with a cozy, casual feel, friendly service, and food that keeps me coming back. I've ordered takeout more times than I can count. The samosas are a must, and I almost always order the bowl combo, which comes with your choice of one entrée and basmati rice, then add the garlic naan because it is perfectly pillowy and way too easy to finish. Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Vindaloo are both heavy on my rotation, so clearly I know what I like. The portions are generous, everything travels well, and the prices are reasonable. And I need to mention their drinks because I'm slightly obsessed with the iced chai and mango lassi. Both are very much part of the order now. I've also eaten here in person, and the cozy, casual atmosphere makes it a great neighborhood spot for a quick meal or takeout. I started with the Ginger, Basil Limeade which was very refreshing and reminded me of a similar refresher from a Burmese place in SF. Definitely unique and a perfect compliment to the tasty food. Do yourself a favor and order the Samosas, (2), with the green and tamarind sauces. These are housemade as well as the sauces- and oh, so good!! Hubby ordered Butter Chicken as an entry and it was a large portion, along with the onion Naan. I ordered the plate with smaller bowls of the Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Vindaloo, accompanied by rice in order to try more dishes. So much good food and the price is reasonable. We enjoyed the flavors, quality of the ingredients, including the tender chicken, and the naan with onion was just out of the oven and hot as the sun. Stayed the weekend in the area and was craving Indian food but wasn't sure of any spots in the area until I came across this one. I saw it had amazing reviews and the pictures looked amazing so I had to check it out. We ordered the bigger plate and you get your choice of 3 entrees to fill the cups and it comes with basmati rice. We also ordered garlic as well as butter naan which is a must have. This is a smaller place so seats can be limited but it wasn't too busy on a weekend! There was a little too much sweetness in the tika masala for my liking but other than that, the consistency was good and the flavor was there. Rice was perfectly cooked and the roti was also good. Samosas were crispy and flavorful. The restaurant itself is pretty small and I think this place is probably more conducive to take out than dining in. This is my favorite Indian food in Ventura by far. The butter chicken is incredible. I always get butter chicken, garlic naan, and an order of samosa's! The mango lassi is so delicious as well. Read online about their curry burritos and had to come give them a try. Restaurant is a little smaller but super cozy and comfortable to eat in. We got chicken tikka masala wrapped up in naan with some garnish thrown inside. All in all, it was a pretty good burrito. It didn't hold as well as a typical burrito and fell apart easily, but I feel that's a bit to be expected. My friend suggested this spot for a weekday lunch and I was happy to give it a try as I'd heard good things about this restaurant. You order at the counter and they have a large overhead hanging menu with all of the fixings. It was a clear menu with great specials and multi item meals so you can try a little bit of everything. Prices were also reasonable for the portions and the staff here were very friendly and nice. A kind woman took our order at the counter and helped us navigate the menu noting her recommendations based on our taste. A gentleman was working the back cooking and brought the food to our table. Everyone here was great. Efficient service despite ordering for yourself. I tried my usuals which were the chicken tikka masala, yellow dal, rice and plain naan. Everything was tasty and made fresh to order from what I could tell. Delicious food and definitely a 4.5/5 in overall flavors. I loved every bite and my friend was happy with her meal as well. For a no frills little spot it was fabulous and a clear favorite amongst the locals. We slowly noticed the tables filling up on a Monday at opening so it's safe to say this spot could probably get decently busy on the weekends. I've been spending a lot of time in Ventura lately and have always struggled with finding a decent place to grab a bite (there are lots of highly ranked restaurants in the area that are just not good) and I was pleasantly surprised after finding Indian Rasoi! I called in an order for a butter chicken burrito and a chicken tikka masala burrito for pick up. Both were on garlic naan and had modifications on toppings and they nailed it. The burritos are massive and super saucy. Half a burrito was way, way more than enough. We ate it in the car and it was messy but oh so worth it! The flavors are delicious and the chicken was juicy. It was so good that I ordered a third one to go, and asked for it to be extra spicy. That one sat for an hour before being eaten and was easier for them to eat because the naan soaked in the sauce - so it's better to let it sit. Making it spicy takes it to a whole new level! I enjoyed the mint sauce more than the tamarind. Definitely will be back! Super friendly service, small dining room, clean bathroom, and easy street parking. read more

My bf loves Indian food and I was in search of a yummy spot. Yelp sure helped me find Indian Rasoi and my fellow Yelpers weren't wrong. This place is a true hole in the wall. Not big but there's a few tables inside. I got a bowl with chicken tiki masala and rice. My bf got a 2 entre plate with lamb and chicken tiki masala. He also ordered a chai tea. We also got garlic naan. Everything was so affordable and delicious. I think this is my fave Indian now due to their portions and flavors! They don't skimp at all! Customer service was ok. They seem pretty busy with to go orders didn't really have the time to be friendly.
