Tandoori Chicken
Jenelle B.

The lunch buffet was stocked with traditional favorites - tikka masala, paneer saag, naan, tandoori chicken. It also boasted goat curry, noodles and a wide variety of sauces and chutneys. Complementary hot chai paired nicely for dessert with rice pudding and gulab jamun. Flavors of every dish were lovely, staff was quick to refill water and remove used plates. A solid lunch buffet!

Came for lunch buffet and it was good! Good variety of foods and delicious flavors with tender meat options. Price was good, though the only thing I might complain about is that the bhatura was hard possibly from sitting out. Otherwise the experience was great.

I have to write a review because they truly went above and beyond on our DoorDash order last night. We ordered the Chicken Chili appetizer, Navratan Korma, Paneer Tikka Masala, and cheese garlic Naan. My boyfriend is gluten-free, so we noted that at well. (The Naan was strictly for me.) We received a call from Himalayan yeti shortly after, confirming whether we knew the Chili Chicken and Naan had gluten in it. Obviously we knew about the Naan, but it was really nice they gave us a heads up about the Chili Chicken app. We switched it to the Lamb Choila instead. Everything was delicious and we'll definitely be ordering from there again soon. So disappointed, I forgot to take pictures of our food, but it was all spectacular!

Wood piece in Chicken Korma

I loved this place but, unfortunately, I will not be eating here again. I ordered from DoorDash and the chicken korma had a large piece of wood in it. Other than this I have no complaints. I just don't know how a chunk of wood wasn't noticed to be missing. The wood is clean because I washed it off to make sure it wasn't a bone or something. I didn't check the rest of the batch to see if there was more. Edit: I keep adding the picture and then it is deleted. Idk why

Enjoyed our dinner. I wanted some lentil soup and it was delicious. The staff were busy. The booths could use some reupholstering. Small interior, but good food.

We love Indian food, but have never had Nepali food before. Momo was delicious and just the right amount of spiciness. Lamb dishes are tender and flavorful. Good amount of food- we were stuffed!

Tasty food! The servers were quick and helpful. It was more of a carry out restaurant than dine in. The restaurant had inside and outside seating. We got biryani and tandoori chicken and it was very good

Decent food, good service and very reasonably priced. Vegetable Momo (6 pieces) $7 - Would order again, these are like a cross between samosa and dumplings. You can get them steamed or fried, and the dipping sauce complimented them very well. Butter Chicken $15.50 - The sauce was more tomatoey than others I have had. It comes with a side of basmati rice, which was a bit dry. Bhindi Masala $13 - This okra dish is not as flavorful as I would like, but still tasty. Kheer $3.50 - Ok rice pudding. Gulab Jamun (3 pieces) $4 - This dessert is great if you're looking for that sugar rush. Similar to others I have tried, basically donut holes covered in syrup. Saw a sign for lunch buffet Mon-Fri $16 and Sat & Sun $18. As an added bonus, this restaurant is located right by the Greetings from St. Louis mural if you are looking for a photo op. .|\---/| | @_@ | ..\_^_/..2024

Great Lunch Buffet. Lots of vegan options. Very authentic and family run restaurant.

Don't let the outside fool you, this place is solid!! The service is very friendly and quick to seat you and get you your drinks. The ambiance is welcoming but the inside could use a refresh (but let's be honest, the food is so good it doesn't matter). I opted for the buffet, which was a surprise to me that they had it. I tried everything on the menu and I didn't find a single thing I didn't like! The tikka, saag, chili chicken, all of it was great! My wife opted to order butter chicken and it was a delight also. This place is a must try if you are in the area.

I loved this cozy family-run restaurant in the North Hampton neigborhood. We had very nice dinner on a Thursday night. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. Our party of four shared Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Baigan Bharta, and Roasted Tiger Prawn. We ordered medium spice, and for me that was perfect, but spicier than I normally would consider "medium". The Tikka Masala and Saag Paneer were flavorful and consistent with my expectations. I especially enjoyed the Baigan Bharta as this is a dish that I don't normally order. It is a popular North Indian dish, and is mash of fire-roasted eggplant, onions, tomatoes, herbs and spices. Very delicious. The Roasted Tiger Prawn were also memorable. The generious serving of seasoned shrimp are served sizzling on a skillet like tandori chicken straight off the grill. Very tasty. This was plenty of food for our party, and we were able to enjoy leftovers the next day.

I love a good Indian buffet! My friend and I wanted to try somewhere new for lunch and Himalayan Yeti checked all of the boxes. It is a cozy atmosphere, but has plenty of room. We got the lunch buffet and everything was so good! Since it was a buffet, the service was quick too. The chicken tikka masala, chicken korma, battura, and veggie pakora were my favorites. Sometimes I just want warm, comforting Indian food and to try a bit of everything, so this was perfect.

i love the calm, dim atmosphere of this restaurant. the server was very attentive and sweet. the food came pretty quickly! my boyfriend and i loved it. so flavorful, perfectly spiced (they give you a choice of spice level 1-5), and beautifully fragrant. the portions aren't the most generous ever, but it gets the job done. i want to come back for the buffet!

Our go-to order never changes: chicken 65, chili momos, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and occasionally mango lassis. We were genuinely worried when they closed for their remodel over the summer but we were so relieved when they reopened. Back and amazing as ever! (I'm pretty sure we were there opening weekend. We could not wait!) The food is still outstanding, and the updated interior is beautiful. They did such a great job with the remodel; it feels fresh, welcoming, and like the perfect setting to enjoy a great meal. Namaste remains our go-to every time we're craving Indian food. Consistent, delicious, and always worth the visit. Five stars without hesitation!!

But Covid killed buffets, so I thought my Indian buffet habit was a thing of the past. Recently, my wife drove by this place and saw all the signs for a lunch buffet, so we decided to try it. It didn't disappoint. The place / decor is simple and the place wasn't crowded. In fact, I was concerned that there were so few people there. But oh my goodness, it was amazing. I really liked every dish I tried, even the ones that weren't exactly what I remember from other experiences. And my favorite dish was one I'd never had: Kamundal aur Sarigobi, which is broccoli and mushrooms. It was phenomenal. Everything was just the right spicy too. The only thing that didn't blow my socks off was the kheer, which was just okay. The price did blow me away though. It was really expensive. With tip, like $30 per person. So be aware of that. But soooooo good. I also want to say that I met the owner and she explicitly said she'd cook a dish for us special if we called ahead and asked for it to be on the buffet. How awesome is that!? Anyway, definitely check this place out!

Walking in the hostess was kind and cheerful. My waitress came over soon after and was pleasant. Not over the top friendly, but helped me with my order. She never came back. My food was delivered by a young man who seemed like he was having a bad day. He walked over put my plate down, turned around and walked away. I was trying to ask him for salt and pepper, but missed him. Shortly afterwards, an older gentleman who may have been the owner or manager, came over to check on me. The ambience was decent. The lighting was good. The restaurant was clean. The food was also reasonably priced. (I went to another Indian restaurant a few few weeks later and then naan (bread) was $6, which at that location was nearly half the price of my meal! ) The food appeared to be a meager portion, but that was just based on the presentation. It was actually a substantial amount; I only was able to eat half (A lot of restaurants work to make their items look bigger than they are in this one it was the opposite). As I was finishing up, I called over the manager, had him bring me a box in the check. He did that took my payment and thanked me for coming by. I would definitely go back to house of India. The service wasn't over the top as I like to have a server do more than just take my order, but they did have a system, my food was hot and tasty, I was served quickly, and I left pleased and ready to begin my 18 hour fast.

While browsing reviews, we came across a hidden gem in St. Ann called Maaji's Street Kitchen that had surprisingly high ratings. I couldn't believe how well-reviewed it was, so we decided to check it out for ourselves. We arrived around 5:30 PM on a Monday and were greeted warmly as soon as we walked in. We made our way to the counter to place our order, and the staff member was very helpful once we mentioned it was our first time. He walked us through the menu and even pointed out different dishes and combo options on their digital signage display menu, which made ordering much easier. We placed our order to go and waited inside. It's a small space, but it's decorated with unique art and has a really unique vibe. There was a hypnotic Indian song playing in the background, which added to the atmosphere. We sat at a table that had a game on it--I believe it was called Carrom, a tabletop game where you flick checker-sized discs into corner pockets, similar to a mini pool table. A woman who I assume was the owner or manager came out from the back and greeted us. While we waited, she showed us how to play the game. As we were playing, she came back and even offered us samples of the food we had ordered. I was honestly impressed by the level of hospitality--it's not something you experience very often. The sample alone was some of the best Indian food I've had. The spices were perfectly balanced for my taste, and it made me even more excited to get home and dig into our full meal. My wife ordered the Mixed Vegetable Curry Bowl, and I went with Combination #2 (Shredded Chicken Curry, Steamed Rice, and Parantha), along with a side salad. Overall, the experience was fantastic. I can't remember the last time we were treated this well at a restaurant, and I'm already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes.

This is how good this restaurant is, and I am always amazed by how Heena can cook all the food to order while connecting with her customers (she remembered my name 2 months after I visited once!). The restaurant is small and tucked away on N Lindbergh in St. Ann. The space is set up mostly for takeout as they only have ~4 tables for customers. Don't let this deter you from dining in if you have the time. You can play a traditional Indian game on one of the tables while you wait or chat with the staff or other customers. The menu isn't as expansive as some other Indian restaurants in town, but it really doesn't need to be. So far, everything I've tried has been delicious and the combination menu's value cannot be beat. This lets you try out multiple things on the menu all at once. In each dish, you really can taste the love and care that the chef has put into the food and if you get a chance, ask her about how much thought has gone into even the ingredients being used. Tip: If you don't mind paying the extra $1, always get the garlic and ghee parantha (deliciously flaky indian flatbread). It is totally worth it.
