Love the variety of street food on their menu! Got a Mango Lassi and it was super creamy and refreshing. It was the perfect pairing with the samosa because the filling was hot and spicy, so the mango lassi cooled everything off. The samosa had a wonderfully crispy and crunchy texture on the outside. Some friends brought us to City Foundry for lunch and a little exploring, and we had such a great time. After browsing all the tempting food options, we landed on Turmeric Street Style -- and we're so glad we did! Indian food is our favorite, and this was a totally new experience: fresh, flavorful, and different from the saucy curries we usually go for. Everything had a clean, vibrant flavor, and we even got to try some unique sodas we'd never seen before. The wait was definitely long, but that seemed to be the case with just about every spot in the Foundry. It's a popular place for a reason. The only downside was the seating -- we ended up at the bar because it was the only space we could find. A few more tables would go a long way. Delicious and quick every time! I also appreciate the labeling of gluten free, etc.. The counter staff are nice enough and the food is cooked to order. The menu is easy to read. There are seats right by the counter, so eating the delicious food immediately after is easily accomplished. read more

Turmeric at the City Foundry is such a solid spot. I always go for the basmati rice and it's always perfect. There's a little kick of spice every time, and that's what makes Indian rice so good. The City Foundry itself is just a staple in St. Louis. It's packed with all the best local spots, and I can't recommend enough just walking around and grabbing something small from every booth. Trust me, you won't be disappointed. Turmeric is definitely one to add to your lineup! I pay high dollar for these fantastic models. read more

They had a good tape on the floor, showing where people should stand in line to order, without impeding traffic flow around the food hall. Both employees on staff were friendly and fast. It's obviously a couple minutes wait for the dosa to be cooked fresh, then wrapped. The texture! The taste! The dip! Fantastic. I couldn't finish the whole wrap in one sitting, I was stuffed. It was moist and creamy and savory and had just a hint of spicy heat. So good. read more

Confession: even with all fabulous options to choose from at the Foundry, it's really hard for me to go anywhere but here for dinner. Their mushroom dosa is THAT GOOD. Fresh, made to order, authentic, served with 3 fresh dipping sauces. Enough to take some home for a partial second meal, but so yummy you have to force yourself to stop eating. $13 plus tip. read more

This is my 2nd time eating here, and I'm just now getting around to writing a review. This place is awesome! This time, I ordered a shrimp Shashlik rice bowl, and it was good. It came with a chili sauce, and it added a good amount of flavor to it. The staff is friendly and the wait isn't too long. The store front is always clean and tidy. I waited for about maybe 10 minutes before my name was called. I also ordered a Dr. Pepper as well. Each time I've come to this place, I haven't been disappointed yet. It is one of the healthier options in this food court. If you're looking to try something different or not too sure about trying Indian street food, this is a good place to go to. Not the first time and not the last time I've eaten here. Spots in the Foundry seem to be overpriced but I think this is the most fair pricing. They give a good amount of food for what you pay for. It's so flavorful and delicious, and I love that you can really cater it to your diet/what you like. Their basmati rice is SO good, I'm obsessed with it. Great spot, so tasty. read more

I love the City Foundry, but I keep coming back to Turmeric for the Bhel Puri. I love the combination of flavors and fresh cilantro. The Chicken65 is an all time favorite. The serving sizes are always too big for me to try more than one thing. read more

I'll get it 3.7 stars! Walking around The Foundry trying to find food before we met friends for drinks. Not a lot of options that I liked so I settled for TSS. The guy at the front wasn't too friendly or helpful but whatever I still decided to try it. Forgot the name of the wrap I ordered, but it was good until it wasn't. It was seasoned really well and I was enjoying it until I found something hard inside the 2nd part of the wrap. Not sure what it was, I just threw the rest of it away. L Oh, the mango lassi was lassing...Lol Overall I don't think I'd eat here again I'll give one of the other places a shot next time. read more

There wasn't anything to not like about this place. It's a fast casual restaurant where they give you a number after you order and you wait at a table until they call your number. The service was prompt at taking my order and no mistakes were made. I ordered the paneer tak a tak. The serving size was great. I'd wish for a little more protein and less rice but that's just my preference. It also probably keeps the price down. The entree was $11 + $2 for the rice bowl option. Eating the Indian style cottage cheese was a unique experience. I couldn't believe it was cottage cheese. My wife thought it was chicken until I told her. I definitely will recommend this place to people when they are looking for a meal that isn't high in fats and offers good vegetarian options. The seasoning was wonderful. Turmeric cumin plus something else I'm missing for sure. It was served with a sauce that reminds me of Chipotle mayo. This meal definitely hit the spot for me and I eat a lot. Overall pretty solid! The Tumeric Street Style stall is located inside the City Foundry food court so you order at the counter then pick anywhere to sit. Once you order the service is fast. For the meal options, you get to pick a combo of a kathi roll, dosa, or rice bowl and choose the inner filling (options range from chicken tikka masa, to veggie paneer, to even seafood options). So far I've had the kathi roll (kind of like a tortilla texture) and dosa (crispy crepe like) with chicken tikka masala filling. It was spicy and but still good. I liked the two sauces it came with. I also tried their samosa, which was delicious, fried well with a thin, crispy, flaky, shell, and the fillings were great although a bit salty. Was craving chaat and stl and happened upon this stall in the foundry! It was pretty good. Got the samosa chaat, aloo tikki chaat, bhel puri, and vada pack. The samosa chaat was good. Aloo tikki chaat a little sweet for my liking but my friends enjoyed it. Bhel Puri was good and texture was crunchy. Vada pav was a little dry - wish there was more chutney or chilli. Staff were friendly! Recommend coming here for some small bites! read more

St. Louis' favorite Indian restaurant in the University City Loop neighborhood is now also in Midtown near St. Louis University with a scaled down menu and much more casual vibe. The Foundry's food court has a variety of specialty and ethnic restaurants, Turmeric Street Style more than adequately supplies Indian cuisine. Was at the Foundry in St.Louis and decided to try Turmeric Street Style. I'd been to their restaurant on the loop so I knew it would be good. We got a Dosa roll with chicken tikka masala. Enough for two. Light and delicious. Every aspect of it was fantastic. Tender, well seasoned with a little spice and just so satisfying. If you're going to the Foundry make sure to check them out. They also have Indian sodas which caught my eye. Really nice people. Show them some love. read more

I think this is a super solid spot for city foundry. Worker was patient as I looked aroung. I got the Kittaya chicken Tikka masala and a side of rice for my daughter. The roll itself did not have a ton of meat and was a bit over priced for what it was. I added some of the rice to my roll and that was definitely the way to go. I don't normally eat a lot, and the roll removed my hunger but I wasn't anywhere near full. Chicken was tender and super flavorful. The suggested tandor mayo along with their variation on Thai sweet chilli sauce (with a bit more spice) were both delicious and a welcome addition. read more

Went to the City Foundry STL and decided to try Turmeric STL. So many choices...was not disappointed in the meal I received when I told them to "surprise me". What I enjoyed off their menu: tandoori chicken dosa, samosa chaat, and gulab jamun. If you EVER get an opportunity to try samosa chaat, DO IT! I also had the mango lassi (not pictured). I ended up at the City Foundry (where this is located) on a recommendation from a local. And this place was legit. I got the chicken tikka masala. It was flavorful and so delicious. I didn't really understand the lettuce that came with it and would have rather had naan but it's better that my ass ended up with lettuce instead of more carbs! The lettuce was fresh and they actually don't have naans. I also got the fried shrimp special. For $6.50 I got 5 good sized shrimp and fries. Fantastic bargain! The shrimp was also tasty. It was coated in coconut and crispy and golden. I paired it with a sweet and sour sauce. The fries were good. I paired those with a tumeric Mayo and I wish I had gotten more to bring back to KC. I will forever crave it. This is definitely a good little spot that I'll be hitting up again the next time I'm in the Lou. read more

First timer! My order: * Chicken Tikka Mansala in a Rotti roll * sweet chili sauce *Mango Lassi The man that took my order was very nice to me. I remember him passing out his orders to a few men who ordered before me and put their orders on a plate, but put mine in a food container (as if he KNEW I was the queen of leftovers! Love!) My order was processed very fast and there was a table empty a few tables down the place so I didn't have to wander around even though it was a Sunday. The service was great, but the food was not so much. I felt like the seasoning was lacking. No wow factor. I thought that I would absolutely die for this place once I took a sip of the mango lassi, but it just wasn't as great as the first time I tried it at a place in D.C. or Chicago. There were also little bits of the skin of mango in it that I had to pick out of my mouth. This is the second time I've been to the foundry and struck out for the second time. This stall is located inside the foundry so there was plenty of space to sit, although I got takeout. The food came out fast and was packaged well with no concerns for spilling. The staff was super nice! The food was really yummy!! The samosa chaat was flavorful and was so fun to eat because of all the different textures. The bhel puri was crunchy, light and bursting with flavor, I had never ordered it before but will definitely be coming back for more! read more

Stood at the counter for a few minutes to see if he would come back and I could ask about it. Just got handed the food, so I left very confused. I have yet to try the original Turmeric restaurant in the Loop but figured I'd stop by for a quick lunch. I got the rice bowl with Andhra chili chicken. It comes with a sauce of your choosing and some spinach. I thought the rice was seasoned and cooked really well. The chicken was a bit too moist for my tasting and it's sauce, while spiced well, just didn't do it for me. The medium spice sauce I got on the side was also not that great so I didn't use it that much. I'll try something else next time! read more

Super delicious Indian street food stand at the Foundry, located in the back corner next to Patty's cheesecakes. You order a base, a protein, and a topping/sauce for the main entrees. I got a dosa shell (chickpea flatbread) with Tikka masala chicken and mint mayo. My daughter had Andrha chilli chicken rice bowl with Tandoor mayo. We also had samosas, fried potato filled dumplings and a mango lassi(yogurt) drink. Absolutely wonderful: full of flavor, large portions, and beautiful presentation. Worth every penny! The mayo sauces were not even needed. We took them home as extras, as the rest of the fillings were so spicy and flavorful. My only wish is that they gave out tamarind chutney along with the mint chutney for the samosa, but no big deal. Still will be back ASAP! read more

Delicious food. Had the Dosa roll with chettinad chicken and both the tandoor mayo and sweet chili sauces. The chicken was so flavorful that the sauces weren't even necessary - but both were good too! Also got a samosa, which was crisp and flavorful. First time trying Turmeric at the Foundry STL. Had the Chicken Tikka Masala in a rice bowl with a Mango Lassi. Very good. Nice sized portion/filling. The turmeric was not too overpowering with just enough spice. As for the Mango Lassi, it's a bit thick, but not too bad. read more

One thing I did notice was that a table that was seated after us (they arrived about 10 minutes after we were seated) received their food before we did, including another table that had a larger party. It wasn't a major issue, but it did stand out and is something the kitchen could and should improve on. They should really work to a FIFO (First in First Out) schedule. That said, the food itself was very enjoyable. My curry chicken, ordered at a medium spice level, was cooked and seasoned perfectly to my taste. The garlic naan was especially good--fresh, flavorful, and a great complement to my meal. Overall, this visit improved my impression compared to the first time around.

It was served warm and crispy. The onions were sweet and the fried batter had good flavor. I tried the weekend special, which were 3 vegetarian choices out of 5-6: Palak Paneer, Paneer Butter Masala and Eggplant curry. Rice or naan does not come with it. It costs extra. The garlic naan was fresh and flavorful. The Palak Paneer was adequate, mildly spiced, and about what I expected. The paneer butter masala was well-spiced and had a slight capsaicin kick. The eggplant curry was absolutely delicious and rather spicy. I'm glad I had a drink close by. This was a very good value as I had enough leftover for another meal.
