Namaste continues to be my husband and I's absolute favorite Indian restaurant. It is consistently incredible, which is honestly hard to find. Our go-to order never changes: chicken 65, chili momos, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and occasionally mango lassis. Yes, it's a familiar lineup but when every dish is this flavorful, comforting, and perfectly done, there's no reason to switch it up. They truly excel at the classics. We were genuinely worried when they closed for their remodel over the summer but we were so relieved when they reopened. Back and amazing as ever! (I'm pretty sure we were there opening weekend. We could not wait!) The food is still outstanding, and the updated interior is beautiful. They did such a great job with the remodel; it feels fresh, welcoming, and like the perfect setting to enjoy a great meal. Namaste remains our go-to every time we're craving Indian food. Second time coming here. I ordered the chicken chow mein. Warning it is a little bit spicy, but it was good! Lots of flavor in this dish. We also ordered Garlic Nann (there was lots of garlic on it) The restaurant is simple, only seating inside and it looks like they were fairly busy with their to go orders. Namaste has recently changed its name to Namaste Curry Lounge. This was our first time coming here. I decided to try the Chicken Chowmein. It had just the right of heat for me and was a nice size portion. The menu is expansive and there are tons to choose from. The restaurant has lots of space and would be great for groups to spend an evening together. We had a new waitress, but she was able to answer all of our newbie questions. I had the Chicken 65 Biryani which I highly recommend if you like something with a bit of spice. The naan and samosa were also tasty. Namaste is a newer restaurant in South St. Louis on Hampton serving Nepalese and Indian Cuisine. You can see the entire menu on their website. Order online without calling. You can even order for a future pick up time. We're starting with the Paneer-Pakora appetizer. It's paneer (Indian cottage cheese) battered and deep-fried. Deep-fried cheese? Yes please! Next up is the Chicken Steamed Mo-Mo. They are ground chicken filled dumplings. You can also get them deep-fried or with veggies instead. Chicken Tekka Masala is my go to at any new restaurant. If you haven't tried it before (and you should) it's marinated chicken cooked in a spiced tomato sauce. The chicken was a bit dry even though it's been marinating in the sauce The sauce was a bit one note. And finally, you must order a Mango Lassi. It's a sweet, creamy mango pulp and yogurt drink. Perfect to cool down the spices or to enjoy as a dessert. Totally delicious. I wish I would have ordered 2 so I wouldn't have had to share. read more

The food I have mixed reviews about: Butter Chicken (2/5), I really wasn't a fan of this one, sauce overly sweet and lacking in flavor, container was mostly sauce with few pieces of chicken, the chicken which was present was pretty dry. Would definitely not get again Chicken 65 (4/5) much better than the butter chicken, and the dish to get at this place. The chicken was tender and had good flavor. Wasn't too spicy either and was good quantity for the price. Would get again Vegetable Pekora (4/5), nicely fried veggie fritters served with mint and plum chutney at a reasonable price. Would get again Kheer (rice pudding), very small portion given but was pretty good. Overall, butter chicken was a huge disappointment but the chicken 65 and pakora are worth trying! read more

I am writing this while in a food coma. I am no expert on authentic Indian food but I do know that all of the food we ordered was delicious. Both the butter chicken and tikki masala were delicious. The chicken was tender and full of flavor. For the price, I would have liked to have a few more cubes of chicken in each but the flavors alone make up for that. The garlic naan is the perfect balance of ingredients and the texture is spot on. I could eat this all day. The chicken pakora was yummy! My toddler loved it too. The chicken was tender and the flavors were explosive. Probably the best I've had anywhere. Customer service was friendly, it was super clean, the music is always lively and the food is great. I love Namaste! I always stop by to get their vegetable momos. They are always fresh and cooked to perfection. I love everything from the crisp, crunchy shell (if you get it fried) to the soft, warm, tasty inside. Whenever I run errands and am in the area I will stop by and grab the momos as a quick snack. I will start off by saying I will come back because I am convinced it deserves higher ratings! The food was hot, fresh, and speedy which to me equates good service. I went with an Indian dish of Chicken tikka masala, veggie samosas, and garlic naan. One reason for my return is to try Nepalese food, and not Indian. The masala was very savory, tomatoey, and more seasoned (also spicier) than any other I've had before (can't say I liked it more, but enjoyable) but the big pieces of undercooked onion and green pepper took away my excitement. Omg SO good!! Expectations were low. I really wanted a good meal that I didn't have to cook after a stressful day, but it was late and deliver options in STL are limited to begin with. I placed my order shortly before closing which is why I thought I was probably going to get meh food, but everything was fresh and delicious. I'm truly blown away. The fried momo stayed crispy and the sauce tastes just like my friend from Napal makes. The samosa chat is enormous and perfectly spiced. Next time I'll order extra sauce. A little bc the dish is so big but mostly because it's so good I just want more. The saag paneer is incredibly decadent. I imagine it must be loaded with cream and butter by the taste of it - I am not complaining! I do wish that there was more paneer in it, but I always want more paneer so that's probably more a me problem haha The only negative part of the meal are the spiced pickles. There are no pickles! I got like 3 olives and it's just very oily and salty, not spicy at all. Salty enough to burn your mouth though! It has a texture like a lot f powdered spice was added but didn't dissolve. Maybe I just got a bad batch. Overall, I cannot wait to order from here again and can't wait to visit them in person. If it's this good as delivery I'm sure its amazing in person. Two words: Tikka Paneer. IYKYK, it's so ooo delicious. Unlike other places I've ordered paneer and had to search through to find any cubes, their paneer is plentiful. This restaurant is an absolute home run. The food tastes great! I'll share with you a few of my favorites as we cut to the chase: Chicken Tikka Masala: 5 stars! Absolutely delicious tomato-based creamy sauce with chicken and a side of basmati rice. It is not remotely spicy, so it's friendly to all. Presumably they'd be willing to make it spicy for you, but you'd have to ask them. Lamb Vindaloo: 5 stars! The chef don't mess around; this tangy sauce is so tasty. The lamb is high quality and very tender. The blend of ingredients which comes with a side of basmati rice has an incredible flavor that I wasn't expecting when I first tried it. Even if you're not a huge fan of lamb, I encourage you to give this dish a try. Please note that this dish is *VERY* spicy, so only order it when you're in a mood to have your face melted. SO good though! Paneer-Pakora: 4 stars! A delightful appetizer that is basically an Indian deep fried cheese stick. If memory serves it comes with 7 pieces. Includes a couple different sauces that don't disappoint, but I don't know what they're called. The staff is always very friendly and ready to assist. This place is super consistent and I always know I'm going to get the high quality food I've come to expect. The menu prices are very reasonable. Wow! All I can say is wow! I have been super excited for this and got the chance to go last night. The food was so goooood. The sauces were just delish. I've been wanting to go to this place since it opened. I love Indian food although I am not a fan of spicy Indian food. I'm a wuss. Today though we ordered take out and ordered quite a few items. Fish Curry, chicken Biryani, Butter Naan, Chicken Steamed Dumplings and Raita to be exact. I didn't get a picture of the Fish Curry because it doesn't photograph well however I was told it was delicious. The Butter Naan was cooked perfectly and the Raita was the ideal companion for it. I really liked that they gave us two containers of the Raita... that worked great for the Biryani and the Naan because I didn't have to share with my friend. We each had our own dish. If I would have had to share one small dish of Raita it would have gotten ugly. The dumplings were fantastic and the sauce that came with them? I could eat that everyday on everything (well only savory things... not like cake) and be in heaven. Now for the Chicken Biryani. I wanted so much to love this like I did everything else but I can't say I love it or hate it. I asked for it to be mild but it brought tears to my eyes...I put some Raita in it... nothing. I even got out a container of sour cream that I had in my fridge and mixed about a cup into it. Then it wasn't as good. The flavor was lost. So, this is the bottom line, the portions were good, the flavors were there and I'm a wuss. I will be going back to try it again though. read more

We started our meal with fried momo... we ordered veggie but they were out, and asked if we would mind chicken instead. They were crisp and well seasoned on the inside and came with a rich tomato based dipping sauce. My dining partner and I had Chicken Tikka Masala and Chicken Curry. I am newer to eating Indian cuisine and I had tried this place not too long ago and I've had it 3 times now. So far I have tried the chili momo (dumplings), jhol momo and the lamb vindaloo and everything was phenomenal. This is some of the most flavorful and spice packed food I've had. We ordered vegetable samosas for an appetizer. You get two. They were okay. I've had better. We asked our server questions about what ingredients were in certain dishes and how it's prepared and she wasn't as knowledgeable as she should be about basic Indian dishes. We ordered the chicken biryani for my hubby and lamb korma for me. Both were presented nicely and served hot. Large portions and both were quite good. We also ordered garlic naan and she forgot it and we asked about it half way through our meal and she acted like it was news to her and said it would be out in about five min. Ten plus minutes later we were pretty well done eating when she brought it. So we didn't even want it. She did take it off meal ticket and let us have it for free and we boxed it to go but are visiting the city so who knows if we will even eat it. I also had a mango Lasse drink with meal and it was delicious. The decor was okay inside. Nothing fancy. Men's bathroom was out of order so hubby had to use women's. He said cleanliness was lacking. Got food poisoning that sent me to the hospital with pancolitis for three days. My roommate didn't eat as much so he was merely bedbound for the same period, with the same, albeit milder, symptoms. Chicken pakora tasted and had the texture of cold rubber erasers, so I guess we should've known not to eat it, but we did anyway. Obviously we deeply regret that. read more
