TBH The owner's wife is very accommodating. If I could POST ZERO Stars, I would. The husband/owner is an absolute piece of crap. Let me explain. I called to reserve a spot for two nights and the wife graciously tells me there is one spot open on the river. I tell her great, without asking the price and reserve the spot on Thursday. I call back and explain I would like to drop off my rtt trailer 6X6 in my spot early in the morning 5am (without setting up) and on the other end of the phone is a booming voice the F*U*K he will and he goes off for about 2 minutes. Now mind you this is not my first time doing this, yet this guy continues to berate me over the phone, then when I ask to talk to him he says he was yelling at his wife. Ya OK. So I tell him that I was planning on driving almost three hours to fish the Deerfield with my son and ask to drop it off in the spot. YA YA whatever is his response. To be accommodating, I do not leave as I wanted to arrive at 5am as he didn't want me to disturb his other guests, yet wants to charge me for the first night even though I wouldn't be there. We arrive at 7am and wait until I see lots of campfires going and people walking around. At 7:15 I call the office line and he is angry already, saying I woke him up and that check in isn't until 12:00 noon, even though I have been charged for the previous night and had permission to be there at 5am by him and his wife. This guy lets me drive almost three hours with my son, then gives me wrong directions to my spot and drives down LOUDLY saying are you down driving all around my property. I calmly explain I used the directions they gave me and they sent me the wrong way. He then states that we won't be doing this again to which, I said what again. You are right. Then he says you can leave. TBH I was thankful, as the spot he "gave" us was sandwiched between 30+ other tents along maybe 250 foot stretch of river front, all of which were awake and up cooking and getting ready for the day. You are right on top of one another, so much so you can hear others' conversations just sitting there. I said no problem, just give me a refund and I will leave. F*u*k YOU. I will call the cops if you don't leave. Apparently he was waiting to kick me out knowing I was driving the 2.5 hrs+ to the camp site with my son, because when he said he was yelling at his wife, I said that was no way to speak to his wife, with a 1st time customer on the phone. So I drove to the office and called the number to get my refund, at which time he drove up, as I am calling out to him he looks back and slams the door and refuses to pick up the phone. Drove about 15 min toward N. Adams and expailned the situation to a couple of people asking for another campsite, both locals pointed me to two other sites, but both had similar experiences with the owner, husband - not the wife. Choice and descriptive words about him, my GOD! Locals know him I guess. Still had a great time in Western MA - went out to N Adams and fished the Hoosic - caught five brookies and 1 brown all natives. Spent the night near Sawyer Pond VT and found another FREE places to camp almost like RTT in the wilderness - State allowed. I got my money back by doing a charge back. If anyone has ever had an issue with this guy, all you need do is call your credit card company explain the situation, and if no services were received the Credit Card Company - against his will, will pull the funds and place them back on your card, even with his NO REFUND POLICY. He will then get charged a "CHARGE BACK" which costs him an additional $25-$50 per and he gets a mark against his VISA/MC account. Customer have rights and he cannot steal your money. So in the end, He lost $50 plus two night rental fees, for his effort, and we found a new campsite and fishing spot. Turned what could have been a terrible time into an adventure and made some good memories!

As I was honest on serving portions and service, I was aggressively and verbally attacked in front of my 13 year son who had just won an outstanding ball game for the local high school. Found the management/owners wife to be rude and very disrespectful towards my child and I. The berry cobbler was tasty but only 2 spoonfuls. The kitchen was very disorganized and the timing was off. The interiors could use some sprucing up, better lighting and more seating in the lounge.

I like that its NOT like every other cookie cutter hotel chain. Staff is courteous and friendly. There is a small hiking trail up the mountain behind the hotel. Parking was convenient, right next to our room. WiFi was pretty fast. Would stay here again if in the area.

It is a minimal fee, but for the price they charge for a room, that's just nickel & diming the guest. They also make you sign an agreement that you will not bring any alcohol into your room. You either purchase from their "bar" in the lobby, or from the mini bar in the room. Neither of us are drinkers so it didn't affect us, but they charged us for a bottle of wine that we didn't take! If you want to stay there, check your charges when you get home.

When we asked if there was coffee or hot cocoa we were told to go to the bar and order it and it would be delivered to us- we were surprised that she didn't stand up and offer to take care of it for us. Customer service training should be a focus. There are a lot of places to stay and we should feel that we made the right choice in staying here and spending money here but we don't. Hopefully employee training as well as some repairs will be done so that customers can benefit.

When we checked in at 2 AM, exhausted from our cross-country trip, and a one hour drive, the receptionist sent us to the wrong wing, and when I went downstairs, he sent me back up, saying I just didn't see it. I had to go down and have him come upstairs to help us find our room only to discover it wasn't where he sent us at all. Next, there was no bottled water in the entire building, not to buy or what is customarily complementary in a hotel of this price range The very polite guy went onto explain that it was because they hadn't received their shipment of water. I'm confused because I sure did pass Walmart, Target a grocery store and a Trader Joe's just minutes from here. But alas no one thought to go get water. Their parking lot is a four minute walk from the hotel. You may hit the jackpot and get one of the 45 spots right in front of the hotel. We didn't. Boo!! Also, they are saving money by not cleaning the rooms daily. I think that's BS but it would've at least been nice for them to tell us a check in. I found a gray hair on the comforter which was not ours. Gross!!! They do have a fancy, highfaluting Molecule air filter that I did not steal. I don't love this place and I wouldn't recommend it for any other reason then if you were spending multiple days on campus. If I come again, I will request daily service and also request to be in the west wing.

It was not perfect, but 4 of us stayed comfortably and we easily could have hosted 4 others although maybe less comfortably. Check-in and service we received were great. We called twice before coming, one call was better (a middle aged male I think) and one was less than optimistic (younger female) but the person did seem to warn us that they would try to get is to our unit by the 4pm check in time. Honestly, I don't fault someone setting expectations correctly so I didn't hold this against them-I prefer truth and by being a little concerned maybe that made me pleasantly surprised when they were prepared to let us in before 4pm (but we did arrive later than we would have had the lady not warned us). Also noteworthy - every conversation we had with guest services were very pleasant and there was ALWAYS someone or multiple people at the desk. This was in early to mid May just to give you context. The unit itself was well appointed if a little tired in some places (couch was a bit dated as were some of the dinning room chairs) but the kitch and baths seemed good, save low water pressure and hot water taking a bit to come up as someone else mentioned. Heating unit was good, never tried the A/C. All the locks, cable/TV, stoves, etc. worked flawlessly (minus a crack in a carafe that must have been there prior to our arrival), we were even able to hook up a streaming stick in one of the units (not the other because of the model of the TV) which helped us enjoy the unit a lot in the evenings. The Pool and Jacuzzi were fantastic. The temp of the Jacuzzi was warm-like it should be-so I do recommend either getting out as advised after 20-30 mins or going into the pool to cool off a bit before going back. I'm sure the timing of our visit was key but our party used the facilities several times before anyone else were using them-I wouldn't expect this but we tried to go at dinner time to have some time to ourselves and we got lucky every time...and that worked well as we are late eaters. The location we are use to because we have stayed down the road at the now closed Bentley Brook (which we loved) and love the location of the resort in Hancock. Due note, for almost anything you have a 15-30 minute drive to Pittsfield, Williamstown, etc. on the East Side of the mountain the place is nesteld or Stephenstown and New Lebanon to the West/Southwest. We have stayed in the Berkshires a lot over the years and really like this quiet area. We tend to take road trips on nice weather days and have been virtually every direction in a circe about 1.5 hours. Other than the obvious close towns of Williamstown, North Adams, Pittsfield, Lenox and New Lebanon (which has a few close decent/good restauants) we recommend day trips to Albany, Great Barrington, Bennington VT and Hudson/Catskill NY. Saratoga and Lake George are a little farther and would require a long day but are doable from there if you are ambitious. Def would stay here again in a few years...but we have been to the Berkshires in most seasons and are good on it now for a bit. Hope this helps someone make the decision.

The bedroom is very cold the whole night and we had to sleep near the fireplace in the living room. My main complaint is with the website pictures misrepresenting the pool and the description of on-sight trails. The outdoor pool is right next to a 4 lane busy road. The picture on their website gives you the impression of something else altogether. We were hoping for a spot to relax and unwind and, in the end, did not even use it. When we asked about how to access the onsite trails we were looked at like: what are you talking about? They handed us a brochure about trails in the area at large. Apparently it's okay to just out-and-out lie and misrepresent, now. In the end we felt the amount of money paid should buy more than a clean room and clean sheets. Our expectations were dashed and we were dissappointed. For this price, we would not stay here again.

I just had to cancel a weekend stay two weeks from now, and got no refund so lost $890.
