I really enjoyed this ramen. Light and just hood for the soul. The noodles was cooked perfectly.

I have been wanting to try Hinodeya Ramen in LA. I love the one in San Fran. I choose the Vegan gyoza bento box which comes with a mini ramen bowl. I choose creamy ramen which I love and usually get. But since they had a bento box, I went that route. Vegan gyoza was really good. I placed the mushroom, squash and spinach in my ramen which was perfect. All in all, i really enjoyed it.

When in Little Tokyo, you need Ramen and this ramen bar is the perfect for your tummy. Place is pretty good, it gives you a vibe of quietness and the service is good. I ordered the back to school special. Go try it! You may like it

I visited this ramen spot for a weekend lunch and my experience here was pretty good! There was a graduation special going on for May 2026 which includes 2 ramen bowls, 3 appetizers, and 2 drinks for $60 which my friend and I split. Going down the list of food I hate here: - Spicy Miso Ramen: Big and filling. I liked how meaty the chashu pieces were. Pretty flavorful and with a good amount of heat. The noodle texture was solid, but could've been better. - Takoyaki: Crispy and tasty, but barely any octopus pieces inside. - Gyozya: Solid and I enjoyed the thin wrapping. - Karaage: Crispy and meaty and I liked dipping them in the mayo sauce. They did get hard as they got cooler though. The interior was nice and the service was great too. Parking is just street or garage parking I believe. Overall, this was a good and solid ramen spot, but I've had better elsewhere.

Second time coming here and the broth still champs as one of the best. The beef rice bowl was also delicious. Service was excellent and was seated right on entry. Great inside atmosphere and is very clean. The restroom was also spotless.

I loooooooove ramen, but my biggest problem is that most ramen places use pork broth. Since I don't eat pork, I'm usually stuck choosing a vegan option. So imagine my excitement when I found this place! What makes this restaurant special is that they use dashi broth, which contains no pork or other meat. Traditional dashi is made from ingredients like kombu (sea kelp) and katsuobushi (dried fish flakes), then combined with seasonings and oils to create the broth. As someone who avoids pork, this felt too good to be true! I even called the restaurant to double-check because I was so surprised. ***A helpful note for my fellow halal eaters: they do use pork oil in some ramen bowls, but you can ask for it to be left out. They also offer meat toppings that can be customized or removed when ordering. But they should update their menus in the restaurant it's not written that way so confuses us and our waitress was kind enough to explain again that it's not pork/ Meat broth. Now for the review! The restaurant is located near Little Tokyo, across from Weller Court. There is street parking available, or you can park in a nearby lot and pay. The ambiance is clean, cozy, and feels like a traditional Japanese ramen shop. The staff was incredibly kind and patient. We asked a million questions about the menu, and our server took the time to explain everything so thoroughly and kindly. We came with a large group, so we ordered several different ramen bowls. Each one could be customized with your preferred spice level and additional toppings. Every ramen came with half a soft-boiled egg, fish cake, and seaweed. We ordered: Chicken Umami Ramen (2 bowls) This came with a clear broth, and we requested no pork oil. The broth was rich and flavorful, and the ramen arrived piping hot. The noodles were cooked perfectly al dente. Spicy Miso Ramen This one definitely had some heat! It had a great spicy kick while still being flavorful. We substituted the chicken for fish cakes, and they were a fantastic addition. Spicy Miso Butter Corn Ramen with Shrimp Tempura This was one of my favorites. The shrimp tempura was perfectly crispy, and dipping it into the broth made it even better. The butter and corn made the soup rich, creamy, and comforting. It wasn't overly spicy, which I really enjoyed. Sukiyaki Beef Ramen This also had a clear broth that was packed with savory, umami flavor. The beef was incredibly tender, flavorful, and delicious. Overall, everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Between the delicious ramen, customizable options, welcoming staff, and pork-free dashi broth, this place is a dream come true for me. I'll definitely be back! This has officially become my go-to ramen spot!

First time at Hinodeya Ramen Bar on a weekday. The restaurant is clean and the staff is nice. I ordered the special scallop ramen and it did not disappoint with its umami punch. The broth was rich and hearty. Ramen noodles were thick and chewy. The green onions and shallots also enhanced flavors. It was a great meal overall. I was happy with the $25 price tag. Only complaint is that 1 of the 5 scallops tasted a bit sour... others were fine though.

o2.o1.2o26 We went on a Sunday close to 1pm. There wasn't any wait but we waited a bit for them to put the tables together. I told the staff that we'll wait outside then. But they didn't come get us when the table was ready... I ordered the clam ramen bc they went out of the scallop one. The ramen is very different from the other places I had. It very bouncy and I like it. There were a lot of clams. I don't know what I was expecting but I feel like it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. The staffs were also cleaning and taking empty plates away while we were eating. They also took dirty napkins away which I said I was still using it. She said she'll get me a new one but never did... It was nice they gave crayons and print out drawings for the kids to play with.

Sophisticated and ramen elegantly well done! I came in here seeing that the place already looked like an artisanal ramen joint. And boy was I ever so right! I love scallops so I tried their seasonal Hokkaido Scallop Ramen and wow the soup was so flavorful with umami flavors and they topped it with fresh sashimi scallops! Def a seafood lovers adult style ramen! I hope this won't just be a seasonal dish it's amazing. You can tell the quality of this joint just by looking at its condiments. The spicy powder is finely ground and actually spicy and numbing so tread with caution. The garlic looked like walnuts which was a nice touch (: Ambience is giving modern zen. Super cute and modern with friendly and sweet staff. Def will be back, haven't been this excited about ramen in such a long time!

The food is really good. The noodles are amazing--the best I've had since I came back from Japan. I got the house ramen, and it literally reminds me of a shop I randomly found in Kyoto at night. That place is a core memory for me. The service is amazing. Everyone was so respectful--it almost made me want to cry because it reminded me of the hospitality in Japan. I literally felt like I was transported there. There's seating for everyone, but the waiting area is really small.

Have a craving for ramen, check out Hinodeya. Specializing in dashi based broth, the traditional umami flavor is delicious. As many other locations, the dining area is small. The waitstaff here is very attentive and reviewing a few items in the menu. One of my favorite orders are the spring rolls, chicken umami ramen, medium spice and a sapporo. The shishito peppers, Hinodeya house ramen and sake is also pretty good. There are 2 parking garages nearby and make sure you hit the drum on your way out, it's tradition.

Came here with a group of friends on a Sunday at 8pm and there was no wait at all. It wasn't too crowded and the workers were very accommodating and quickly gave us waters and took our drink orders. The menu was pretty small and there weren't too many options. Regardless, I got the Sukiyaki Beef and I would rate it a 6/10. It was good, but not the best I've had. The meat was tender and I was intrigued to try their buckwheat noodles which were delicious. I would say though the soup was lacking in flavor and I had asked for mild but it wasn't honestly spicy to me at all. But maybe it could be my fault and that I should have gotten a medium spice. Anyways, the brussel sprouts were my favorite. They were so crispy and tasted almost like you were eating seaweed. I added the crunchy garlic with sesame that was provided at every table on top and it enhanced the whole dish. Overall, this was a great place for some convenient ramen if you are in the area. But I would say it wasn't my favorite place to go, but still somewhere I would stop by if I was in the area.

Ordered take out for lunch and went with their spicy miso ramen. First off I was really impressed with the presentation for take out. The containers they used separated the ingredients in a way that ensured the bowl to be fresh and not in the least bit soggy. The noodles had a great bite to them and the broth was phenomenal; rich in umami and just enough spice to still be able to taste the other components. The chashu pork was delicious and there was a good amount of it. The bowl also came with soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots, green onions and seaweed. An extremely satisfying lunch. I look forward to eating in next time

That's the mood that pulled me into Maruya in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. I ordered the chashu tonkotsu, the classic go-to when you want to judge a ramen shop by its bones. And the verdict? It was... fine. Not bad, not memorable -- just okay. The kind of bowl that doesn't offend you but doesn't linger in your memory either. No standout richness in the broth, no chashu slice that made me pause mid-bite. Just noodles, doing their job. This is actually the second ramen spot I've tried in Little Tokyo, and I'll admit -- I'm starting to feel a little underwhelmed by the neighborhood's ramen scene so far. For a pocket of the city with so much culinary history packed into a few blocks, I expected to be a bit more wowed by now. Two tries in, and I'm still searching for that bowl that stops me in my tracks. What did stand out, though, was the service. The staff at Maruya were genuinely warm and helpful -- attentive without hovering, quick to check in, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to root for the place even when the food doesn't quite deliver. Everything came out piping hot, which normally sounds like a compliment, but it was almost too hot to comfortably eat. Weirdly, we actually enjoyed the leftovers even more reheated at home. I do wish I'd tried the thicker noodles, but paying an extra $3 just to switch noodle styles felt a little ridiculous. We also tried the gyoza, which were good, but I wish they had come with a more traditional soy-based dipping sauce instead of already being dressed in chili oil. I'd definitely come back, especially to try the dipping ramen. I'd never had tsukemen before, and it sounded so good that I was already regretting not ordering it by the end of the meal.
