    Dry Ramen, Soyu and Tonkatsu

Nice spot to grab ramen, especially if you're visiting the Japanese Village. The ramen was tasty, the atmosphere was nice, and it's a convenient place to stop for a good meal. Definitely worth checking out!

We had such a wonderful experience at Hachioji Ramen! The food was absolutely delicious, and their happy hour is an incredible deal--such a great value for the quality and portions. What really made our visit special was our server, Brittany. She was so kind, warm, and incredibly patient with my impatient kids. She never made us feel rushed and treated our family with genuine kindness the entire time. That level of service doesn't go unnoticed, and we're so grateful for how well she took care of us. We'll definitely be back, and we hope Brittany knows how much we appreciated her! Highly recommend Hachioji Ramen if you're looking for amazing food, great prices, and outstanding service

Fun facts! Hachi はち = Bee Oji おじ = Uncle Uncle Bee! Bad Bunny 悪いウサギ apparently was here for a 2021 music video Yonaguni, and it's pretty easy to look up the pose he does in the music video if you want to copy it. We got a ramen, the dumplings, and the Karaage rice The ramen was a nice combo of flavors but not great. The dumplings were the star, perfectly cooked. The rice was good but very fatty and a little overwhelming there. Having chili powder and oil available at the table was great.

When I was in the area, I was intrigued by the idea of craft ramen so I came in for lunch. I didn't know that Bad Bunny used this restaurant as a filming location until I saw a placard advertising the Bad Bunny roll and later googled Bad Bunny's connection to the place. Sure enough, he was there in the music video. The ramen was so good and came out quick. I ate the entire thing and drank the broth at the end. I was a little early for lunch so I was the first one there. The restaurant quickly filled up. Service was excellent and very attentive. I look forward to my next visit.

I ate here because I saw a tiktok of Kevin Keizuchi recommending this place. I am so glad. I got the Keema curry as well. The flavor profile is light and refreshing especially with the yuzu. I am pretty picky about my ramen noodles when I go out, I was surprised that these noodles had a good firm yet chewy texture to them. I went on a random Tuesday evening before they closed and was easily sat.I also parked basically in front of the restaurant on the street, although I can tell it be hard to park here during peak times. The service was attentive since it was slow. I was very pleased with the curry as well. Very hearty and filling. Honestly a shareable portion if you are getting ramen as well. Ramen portion was generous and fits the price ratio. I like this place because they have a duck option, and I enjoyed it! Its unique to other ramen options in the area because of the yuzu add on and the duck. Both are worth coming for if you dont want something heavy like daikokuya. I would definitely come again and maybe try one fot heir spicy ramens to see how spicy yet flavorful it is. It is a great option for a casual lunch or dinner. Probably best for parties of 5 or less. I can see how it may be hard to seat a party of 6 or more here.

Service was great and seating was fairly quick, within 10 minutes. It's a cozy and well decorated interior!! However, the bell on the entrance door is a bit annoying if you're at a table near it... Sadly the ramen wasn't the star of the night, but the yuzu sorbet WAS. I ordered the Tonkotsu Yama and it had a flavorful and rich broth, but it wasn't super memorable. We're more inclined to try another ramen spot next time. My brother enjoyed the salmon bowl and said it had a good quality and cut of salmon, but still kinda plain overall as a meal. Surprisingly, my husband liked the yuzu beer. Out of all the ramen places near Little Tokyo, go here to try their yuzu-flavored items because those were the most notable.

Ive been craving the shio ramen and decided to come in for their lunch special which comes with a side and a salad. I would say its a very good special and surprisingly I really enjoyed the fried fish and salad! It definitely helps to cut some of the saltiness of the broth. I love hachioji for their clean broth and the restaurant itself is also really cool with the decors. Service was attentive and food came out fast.

    Shuran W.

We went to an event near by and at a cold day all we could think of is a warm bowl of ramen. I ordered the Mazesoba, which is definitely one of the best I ever had in Los Angeles. Great portion size. A bit spicy tbh but really tasty. My kid and my husband had the Tonkastu Yama. I love the soup base. Which are not overly oily. The black garlic toppings have great flavor too. The indoor seating area is pretty nice. Although it can be a bit more cleaner... The staff were pretty busy, not particularly welcoming or friendly. I will be back for the Mazesoba!

Good first experience. Quick and easy service. Not too expensive and just right. I ordered Spicy Tuna sushi, Spring Veggie Rolls And Chicken Fried Rice. The food was cooked freshly and it was warm and delicious Hardly any parking in the area. I had to pay $15 across the street to park. Oh well. I will be back!

    Shoyu ramen
    Dev M.

I came with a large group in search of a new ramen spot. The server recommended the shoyu with duck, which I got. Overall, it was fine. Definitely on the salty side and the duck had a very strong taste. The best part was the noodles, which were nice and chewy. The service was a bit of a miss, with us frequently having to flag someone down to get water and utensils. Overall, it's fine but a little on the pricier side, as you are paying for the location.

    Brandon S.

I have always been curious about this location so I decided to try it out. There was no line so I was seated instantly. I got a tonkotsu yama which arrived about 10 minutes after ordering. The ramen was alright. The soup base was a bit salty for my taste. The ramen itself was pretty chewy and springy. The meat was also somewhat tender but lacking in the chasiu flavor. Overall, it was average. Taste was decent but nothing standout. The price was pretty consistent with every other ramen spot on the street too.

    Angel C.

Came here around 12:30 on a Saturday and surprisingly it was not busy! Got the Yama tonkatsu ramen and it was pretty good! Really liked the black garlic flavor. Added the chicken karaage bowl and a salmon ikura bowl it was quite delicious. The ramen broth was definitely a homey feel and the noodles were great

After a long day at the Anime Expo, and starving family looking at me to find dinner, Hachioji popped up on Yelp to save the day. We walked in just before the dinner rush. The ramen was tasty and hit the spot. The decor reminds me of a Tokyo ramen-ya. Worth a try.

The chashu was disappointing: lean and chewy--more like steak found in pho than the tender pork I expected. The wait for a table was long in the hot sun during lunch. And it's still an inconvenient location to get to in terms of parking--little Tokyo is as busy as ever. We had to share a table with some other, really loud patrons. The air conditioning was broken. I got the fried rice, previously one of my favorite side dishes here, but the Yakimeshi rice was too dry and disappointing. I added garlic and soft boiled egg to my ramen. The garlic flakes were too big/strong and overpowered everything. The egg was good. Since the noodles and broth are the most important parts and were both decent, I'd keep this place at around four stars. But there are a lot of other ramen places to try in the area. Original from years ago: Overtook Daikokuya as my favorite ramen place. I love so much about the place except the wait. And the parking, which doesn't validate as long as it used to. Sat at the bar, so watched them make udon from scratch, which was nice. WAIT LIST There was a line when I got there, just as it opened. It wasn't long, but everyone wrote their name down on a wait list. There's a sheet of paper placed on the table outside. Very difficult to find parking in this area, so not many options unless you want to walk really far, back to your car in 90 degree heat. That's the mood that pulled me into Maruya in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. I ordered the chashu tonkotsu, the classic go-to when you want to judge a ramen shop by its bones. And the verdict? It was... fine. Not bad, not memorable -- just okay. The kind of bowl that doesn't offend you but doesn't linger in your memory either. No standout richness in the broth, no chashu slice that made me pause mid-bite. Just noodles, doing their job. This is actually the second ramen spot I've tried in Little Tokyo, and I'll admit -- I'm starting to feel a little underwhelmed by the neighborhood's ramen scene so far. For a pocket of the city with so much culinary history packed into a few blocks, I expected to be a bit more wowed by now. Two tries in, and I'm still searching for that bowl that stops me in my tracks. What did stand out, though, was the service. The staff at Maruya were genuinely warm and helpful -- attentive without hovering, quick to check in, the kind of hospitality that makes you want to root for the place even when the food doesn't quite deliver. It's the kind of detail that softens an otherwise middling meal. So, Little Tokyo ramen crawl: two down, verdict still out. The people have been great. The noodles? I'm still waiting to be impressed. I actually became aware of the existence of this restaurant *because* they had a happy hour sign out in front, advertising, among other things, $4 salmon poke "tacos" (which was definitely actually a tostada, but still), and $3 nigori sake to go with it, which sounded pretty bomb - when I passed by the sign on my way to an event at Death & Co nearby, I took note of it but wasn't interested in food. However, when I left that event, an event I thought was going to provide a lot more food than it actually did, I absolutely *was* interested in food, and remembered that the sign advertised not only a traditional happy hour (open until 6 weekdays, 2:30-5:30 Saturday/Sunday), but also the same prices during a reverse happy hour (8 to close weekdays, 9 to close on the weekend). Given it was, at that moment, just after 8 on a Wednesday, I knew exactly where I was going to get the second half of my dinner from. Funny enough, I will say, the salmon poke that drew me in, was just... good. Don't get me wrong, if I were offered them for free, I'd eat at *least* a dozen. They were quite tasty - also like 2 bites worth of food (so eating a dozen of them would not be remotely difficult to do.) Salmon poke is wonderful, but if I wanted poke, I'd go find a poke place - even $4 felt a bit pricey for the size (they're $6 when it isn't happy hour), so I'm glad I decided to also try their karaage. Their karaage is BOMB - some of the best I've had, honestly. $7 for a 4-piece order of their karaage, by contrast, feels like a very reasonable price, and $5 (during happy hour) an absolute steal. Great karaage, great sauce, super fulfilling. The happy hour on karaage would be enough of a draw by itself - but separate from that, so would the $3 happy hour on sake, including both a regular house cold sake and a nigori. As you can see from the picture, they also intentionally overpour their sake, which is not only a very pretty presentation, but also an impressive amount of sake for $3 (heck, for DTLA, a pretty impressive amount of sake even at their normal $5 price). They also have $6 happy hour shochu/sake/juice cocktails that looked pretty good, though I didn't try one. Service was great, too - sometimes you can tell a restaurant is less excited to serve someone who clearly just came in for a drink and a snack, but that was not my experience here. Verdict is, I definitely want to come back and try their ramen sometime, but I would definitely make sure to do it either before or after their prime dinner hour, to take advantage of happy hour pricing. (And I would definitely get more of that karaage as a side. I will probably also make a point to do so as a snack, subsequent to any future events I go to in the area that end around 8 on a weekday, as well, for as long as that happy hour remains such a draw, price-wise.)

It was missing some oomph that not only differentiates this ramen from others I've tasted before but also gets people to keep coming. Service (5/5): Quick service! Every time I've been there hasn't been a wait. Price (4/5): To compensate for taste I do think the price needs to be lowered a bit. The tsukemen to me was definitely worth it. Ambiance (4/5): Cute little modern shop. It won't fit many big parties but it is perfect for duos.

I've been coming to Mr. Ramen since the '90s, and it's still one of my favorite ramen spots. I live…read moreover 90 minutes away now, but anytime I'm nearby, I make a point to stop. This time I brought the family, and everyone loved it. I ordered my favorite, the Fried Chicken Ramen, and it was just as good as I remembered. The spicy garlic edamame was also a must-order. I love the fun atmosphere, too. The walls are covered with artwork, and they even have colored pencils and paper so you can leave your own drawing. Some places just stay consistently good year after year, and Mr. Ramen is one of them. Definitely worth the drive. Staff is always super fast and friendly.

You know what I mean? Solid recommendation from my friend, Mike M. Warning that most everything contains or is cooked in sesame oils and seed oils. Our server Julian was attentive, he noticed that we needed hot sauce without asking! He brought sauce, oil, and powdered chilis. He entertained my questions about what/who is the Mr. Ramen logo (it's not a penguin or frog) and hipped me to some shoegaze music I hadn't heard. They had a wicked sick shoegaze playlist blasting out over the store speakers.
