He walked around and fascinated all the guests with his tricks that were simple to pull out of his pocket and shocked us all. I still don't know how he made someone's wedding ring float in mid air. We had the opportunity to sit with him and chat for a while and learn his story about what inspired him to be a magician, who his favorite magician was, and what inspires him every day. The "magic parlor" is in a space on Exposition near Fair Park. There's street parking or a couple of paid lots if the street is full. The space is pretty small, but didn't feel cramped with 50 or so guests. I booked my ticket online for $20 through Prekindle. You can also pay another $10 to reserve seats in the front two rows. We strolled in and they checked us in. Seats were first come first serve so we were in the very back. My friend brought in his cooler of booze, but I also noticed there were a few free bottles of wine at the front and some bottle water. Very nice! David Jessup a local comedian opened the show and was the MC all night between acts with the help of Audrey Grace who opened and closed the curtains and held up the applause sign when David was bombing (haha). There were a couple of burlesque dancers at this show. One, Bethany Summersizzle, danced a few times. The other, Jai Le Bait did crazy stunts like swallow a knife! Confetti Eddie is the main performer and he reminded me of the old timey black and white movies where the folks didn't talk. He was so cute and charming. He did a few corny magic tricks that were still very fun to watch! Popper Zander was on hand this Friday night and played a few songs of her own that went well the night's burlesque/side show theme. Overall we had such a fun night. It's kind of awesome turning your cell phone off for an hour or so and enjoying a show with live performers. We saw the Fright Night act and had a great time…read more Prior to the show beginning we had the chance to watch two magicians perform - one who performed magic with rings and one who performed magic with cards. Both were very good and the tricks were fun. The venue is very intimate and had only seats 50 or so - which meant that virtually all of the audience had the chance to participate in the show at some point. The show itself had several acts along with two musical interludes from the Wild Natives (who were also quite good). Afterwards the performers invite the audience for drinks at one of the bars close by. We had a great time and would recommend it.

We rented a Nerf laser tag party w/ concierge for 16 kids. Our group was 35 kids but we had an…read moreunderstanding with the vendor they would simply have the kids be in teams and take turns. We had other passive games for the kids to play while they waited. Things that were great: 1. The online ordering process - great website and super easy to navigate. 2. How quick they would respond - I was very impressed at how quickly they replied to my emails! 3. Politeness of concierge - the hosts of our Nerf laser tag party were very respectful and took care of setup/teardown amazingly! Things that were disappointing: 1. Excellence of staff - when I was finalizing the order of the sale via email with the representative, I felt like they did not care about me as the customer. There was a promotion on their website to get a free upgrade I had to mention, even though they suggested a specific upgrade they would have charged me for that was a part of that promotion. Secondly, the concierge team very much felt like two college guys who did this for some extra cash who did not care how our time went. I had to step in as the game leader because they were incompetent at corralling the kids or explaining a game (and this was after a couple of haphazard "games" where I could tell our kids were confused). I kind of wish I didn't have a concierge so I would've been mentally prepared to lead the games instead, though them taking care of all setup/teardown logistics was SOOOO NICE. There was just a gap in excellence in this area. 2. Unexpected charges - their prices do not include taxes, delivery fees, or a "in case of damage fee," which made the price go up pretty significantly. If we did another laser tag party, I will probably look at my other options first.

She proceeded to call during the reception (when, I assume, she knew we wouldn't answer) bawling in the voicemail, saying she took too many sleeping pills and had never missed a wedding before. Again, no excuse is ok for me not having the music for my ceremony and cocktail hour. NOT worth the risk--pay a couple hundred more for someone else. VERY unprofessional and inexcusable.
