Wow I don't even know where to start. But a good place would be to just thank the entire staff for being vigilant for their customers safety. I was attending a late night movie as a solo woman, and a man overheard the movie I bought with my exact seat number and bought the seat RIGHT NEXT to mine. I thought his demeanor was odd and he looked out of place. Who I assume to be the manager/supervisor on 12/23, discretely came to me and confirmed my suspicions and recommended that I swap seats & offered to block off an entire row to prevent him from trying to relocate next to me. Not only that, but the staff were all made aware and were very vocal about maintaining my safety. I wanted to cry, I was so emotional because they did not just overlook the suspicious behavior of that man. This is the sort of human decency that makes it a safe space for all to enjoy. I was so anxious, especially for fear that I might be followed after the movie but they went above and beyond to ensure that didn't happen and notified me as soon as the man left the property. Thankfully, I was able to enjoy the movie and my experience was saved! Thank you again to the staff during the 12/23 9:45p showing of The Housemaid--I will forever be grateful! read more

Pretty average. The cocktails are pricy and the old fashion was way too sweet. I forgot to take pictures of the food but it was tasty and fresh. Had the Game Day platter, fried pickles, and popcorn. I understand a theater needs to be dark during the movie but I feel like there could be some ambient light near the food trays to help you see. I could see what I was grabbing or where the food was on the tray. I've been to other dine in theaters that had a little more lighting that didn't hinder the movie experience. Great place to see a movie on a Tuesday, value priced movies, free popcorn, validated parking in the parking garage, and comfy reclining seats. My kids think the best thing on the menu is the churro bites, great when fresh. The staff overall is friendly, and theater is usually easy to book, even for new releases. Great selection of restaurants in walking distance if you want more for dinner than the slightly better than bar food served at the theater. You can order from your seats again at this theater which is also nice that they brought back. read more

The only good thing about this place is the screen. Located in a very shady spot of Fort Worth, with vagrants begging for money and laying around in all the nooks. Most establishments have closed up around there. The drinks and the food is very pricy. The server did not tell us they automatically tack on 20% gratuity and you can barely see the ticket you are signing so I added a 20% tip. Two drinks, prosecco and a long island iced tea plus five small pretzel bites cost 58 bucks. This is a rip off of the consumer. Parking validation is done by a QR code so doesn't always work properly and you have to go back and have the ticket seller put in your plate number, hopefully you know it off hand. All around poor experience. Needless to say, I would not go back. read more

Avoid like the plague. We went a couple of months ago and pre ordered dinner to arrive before movie. Came out 30 minutes after the movie started. Manager said they were busy and could care less. Went back last night. They told me could order at the bar, but no one was there working. Ordered at the seats and they tack on 20%. 20 minutes for popcorn, which they brought separately from drink. I didn't want to pay top and they took it off. Then the parking validation didn't work and went round and round with that. Finally, the parking was broken and they weren't charging. They try to automate everything on line, but none of it works. read more

It's a nice theater, with good delivery to your seat. My only complaint is they have the worst movie theater popcorn I've ever had. So, I don't recommend the popcorn. The bar area is nice, though. read more

The worst movie/picture quality I have ever seen at a movie theater, the projectors must be old and outdated b/c you can barely see anything throughout the movie. The picture quality has been bad everytime I've gone. I advise that no one ever come here. TLDR: Terrible picture quality/resolution of the movie projectors in every theater. Slow service, popcorn was bland, and the drink I ordered didn't come with the popcorn (had to call the server to remind them)...and they automatically charge 20% gratuity. Very comfortable and nice. We always enjoyed coming here when my girls were younger but haven't been in a while. I know why now lol they have decided to charge so much for every little thing. It was great being back at movie theaters. We bought our tickets online and presented them at the ticket booth. Nowadays, we are required to order our food from the website and have it brought out at a specific time. Ordering was fairly simple, but make sure you remember your seat before going into your order. If you want alcoholic beverages, you have to order at the bar and carry them to the theater with you. The theater was very clean and the recliner seats worked as expected. The food came out hot and delicious. Movie screen and sound were quality. No complaints at all. If you are looking for a solid theater experience, this Movie Tavern is a fine choice. Even if you don't want to eat here, there are plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance to check out before or after the movie. read more

A great place for a movie. A poor place to have dinner. I was originally introduced to the movie and dine concept by a competitor from Austin. Movie Tavern has a ways to go to meet that level. This particular location validates for 4 hours for the parking garage. Don't forget to get them to validate when you get in. To get to the theater you have to take several floors of escalators to get to the top. The Movie Experience The seats at this location are great. I love the nice cushy recliners that give you plenty of room to be comfortable. The screen is a good size and the volume on point, not too loud, not too quiet. The Food and Service The food here is middle of the road. The movie is the star and the food is the afterthought. While good it's not great. The service has some areas that are lacking as well. Sometimes you are completely ignored, sometimes it's prompt and pleasant. Many times I get the food before the drinks or I never get the drinks at all. Several times I've had to go out into the hall just to get someone to give me a drink. Overall it's a good concept but until they get the service down it's a pale comparison to their Austin based competition. read more

Bought my ticket online. Got there and was told I wasn't allowed to bring in my bag. I was told I had to put it in my car. I went back inside after putting my bag in my car and someone walked out with the EXACT SAME BAG. (Louis never full MM) so don't bring that bag guys. Went into the theater and asked to order a drink. They had very little to choose from. I tried to order food and it took forever. So I turned off my light and decided I'd just eat AFTER my movie. The new "purse policy" came into effect on the 1st. It's the 3rd. I'll never come back to this theater. I understand the purse policy. But they should have made it WAY more evident. The Movie Tavern on West 7th is a great spot to catch a movie! Me and my friend saw Top Gun there and loved the experience. You do need to wait for a soda if you want to order that for your seat, but alcohol is ready when you order it. Did not try the food this time but will be sure to next time I see a flick. Beauty and the Beast and beautiful company makes for a perfect Sunday evening outing! Roni was so kind to take me to see my most favorite animated movie in the whole-wide world remixed, and it was amazing but let's discuss the theater itself. So after riding the stairway to heaven, we finally reached our destination. We went to retrieve our tickets and the clerk was very dry, no greeting, no nothing! Anyways we proceed to enter the hall for the theater, and there was no attendant there to greet us. We had to find the correct theater on our own, but whatever. We find our seats and press the button to get the waiters attention for a menu, HA! I swear for everything loud that child did not know how to use his indoor voice. There were many occasions I wanted to tell him to lower his voice, poor thing. I order the loaded nachos with chicken minus the guac and a large cherry coke. The nachos were okay, I just wished for more queso to round it out. The theater itself was packed and looked to be pretty clean. I think it's time for them to upgrade to reclining seats like the rest of the competition. I would probably return when I'm hanging out on West 7th and want to see a movie and have dinner at one of the local spots. read more

I love a good Movie Tavern, and this is one of them. Since moving in nearby I've really enjoyed casually strolling down the street to the movies (never been able to do that before). So far at this tavern I've seen Dr. Strange (in 3D + second row = headache), The Arrival (I love you circular time theories and Amy Adams), and Allied (underwhelming but I'd missed Brad Pitt). This theater is in an unassuming location -- looks like office buildings and then you ride escalators up to the 4th floor. The view from the outdoor patio up there is preeeetty nice. Fun when it's fair weather, although a bit windy. We usually order our tickets online ahead of time so we can get a good seat early. Very comfy leather chairs with tons of space around you, although they don't recline. In a regular theater I always want to sit on the end because if I'm in the middle with people squished all around me I inevitably have to use the restroom 42 times and annoy everyone. SORRY. At Movie Tavern there's no worries because there's so much room in front of you. My waiters here have always been great. You'd think being waited on during a film would be more distracting, but it's really not bad at all. Decent prices on food and drink and interesting cocktails... I'd probably stick with something easy or beer/cider, as we've tried some more colorful options like the Dreamsicle and the Angry Captain which were certainly okay but definitely not great. Oh! They also have a gluten friendly menu. I'm not personally a fan of eating a whole meal at Movie Tavern (I'd rather go to a restaurant before or after), so I keep it classic and stick with buttery popcorn and an adult beverage. :) read more

We come for a movie and meal. Movie was great!! Food not too much. We order southern chicken tender basket with fries and bbq sauce. The chicken was very dry. however, the fries were very good. We also ordered a mediterranean pizza. The pizza was awful! Full of wayyyy to much sauce and not enough toppings. Mainly only had red peppers. And very little goat cheese. Crust got hard really fast! I came here one friday night for a meetup.com event to see that Chanting Tatum movie where he doesn't wear a shirt (dont recal the name lol). Um well the theater was kinda dirty. The seats were not really comfortable at all. It ended up being a group of 10 of us. The waiter seemed less than interested to serve us and toom forever to get all of our orders. I believe I ordered nachos. It took them about 30min to get the nachos and they were stale and tasteless. I did not tip the guy because he barely came around for service, even with pressing the button. Overall condition of the theater was not great and the bathroom was dirty too. This was last summer so maybe things have changed, but I have not been back since. read more

I've been here a couple of times but have not yet tried their food as I usually end up going elsewhere for dinner before the movie. I parked in the garage parking adjacent to the theater. Direct access into the lobby is on the 4th floor. They validate your parking ticket. There's a cool outdoor patio area that you can hang out at before or after the movie. The theaters are small but spacious and clean. The seats are nice but do not recline which to me is not a dealbreaker. You can purchase and select your seats online. I love this feature and prefer to go to theaters that offer this now. I think it's a nice place to watch a movie and will update review once I try their food. read more

This place is the best way to see a movie in Fort Worth. I've been coming here since it first opened and it has always been great. Before movie tavern I used to always go to AMC and had to pay about 34 dollars for 2 tickets and popcorn (no drink) then go out and buy a separate dinner for my date before or after the movie. Now I can go to movie tavern and for about 30 dollars I get the tickets and dinner, which saves me the whole cost of dinner I had at AMC. The quality of the movies is great and sound is phenomenal. The seats in the theater are awesome, very spacious, with arm rests big enough for two people, and even a little movable tray you can put your food on. The food at movie tavern isn't super fancy food, but it is good food at a fairly decent price, which I appreciate. All in all, movie tavern is my favorite place to see a movie in Fort Worth. read more

Parking was a little difficult on a Saturday night, but it was worth it! The facility is cute and clean, the check-in was quick and smooth, they validated our parking, and we were off to our seats. The theater was comfortable, with reclining seats, and the movie presentation was fantastic. We ordered and paid for our food online, and it arrived in about 15 minutes--we were very pleased with the quality! We are visiting from out of town, but would definitely return. Hooray for eating and watching a movie! I don' like getting the sampler because I can't see what I'm eating and what sauce is what. However, everything else is good especially the cranberry pecan pita (holy crap that thing's good) and a sexy little cake is a great way to dessert at the end of the night.
