Super cute idea with perfect execution. This pace has the best gelato with customizable toppings. We were at an event where this was served and a bunch of tried a few different. We went with their chocolate and vanilla bases, both plain and with dips. Alone they are great, with dips they are next level. Some of out favorite were either a choc or vanilla base with the chocolate dip with oreos, sprinkles, hazelnuts or almonds. They also had sorbet bars which were super fresh and refershing. Our office building had a pop up event featuring the HipPops. I had never heard of them before but found the name super fitting. The person handing out the pops was super friendly and charismatic. Making jokes and conversations with every person that stopped by. Hip Pops has numerous combinations of pops, dips and toppings to customize your gelato to fit your style. Because it was an office pop event there were limited options but still plenty of choices. I picked the cappuccino gelato dipped in milk chocolate and covered in almonds. The gelato was creamy. Although for the cappuccino I would have liked a stronger coffee flavor. The chocolate was heavenly and just the right amount of sweetness. I love that they used good size chunks of almonds. I started following HipPOPs on Instagram after the Yelp account highlighted their spot, and I was all in. I'm the psycho that follows their account each Monday to see where the truck will be and who will order delivery if I can't get my popsicle fix. So not only is HipPOPs awesome, they also have a great social media presence. I stopped by the HipPOPs truck when it was in Riverfront park, and it did not disappoint. The truck itself is so pretty, vibrant, and fun (speaking of social media, definitely some great photo opps- do it for the Gram). When we walked up, the staff immediately greeted us and broke down how everything worked. It was awesome to see how psyched they were about their products and that they were happy to walk us through our options and give suggestions. They were even nice enough to give us a sample pop since it was our first time - I was sold on that first bite. GIVE ME EVERYTHING. We went with the All American Pop (Oreo gelato pop dipped in Belgian milk chocolate, dipped with Oreo Crumbles, topped with an oreo) and with a customized pop (Nutella gelato pop dipped in Belgian milk chocolate, with salted pistachios). I'm drooling just typing these descriptions. They were both UNREAL. I absolutely loved the Nutella Gelato combined with the pistachios - that salty sweet combo hit. the. spot. The All American was also equally as delicious, but I'm not able to comment on it as much because my boyfriend inhaled it. Awesome experience from start to finish every time. I'm excited to keep trying all of the different flavors, and I love that my sweet cravings can be solved by making a stop at the HipPOPs truck or for delivery. They are first dipped in white, dark, or milk chocolate and then rolled in crushed nuts, Oreos, sprinkles, etc. The main attraction is the gelato which is available in lots of flavors. Some are even sorbet so it seems like there may be dairy free options! I tried the vanilla gelato with dark chocolate and roasted almonds. The vanilla gelato was just alright (could've been a tad more creamy) but my coworker tried the chocolate and said it was really good. The dark chocolate and almonds were tasty though. I would recommend their other gelato flavors besides vanilla. Their oreo flavor has an oreo at the base that's really cute! I recently tried HipPOPs when they came to my office for a work sponsored event. The event was fun and they could be fun company to have at your future events.
