Love love love this spot. I'm not a huge sweet tooth, but you can't go wrong with ice cream. Sweet Action has such unique flavors and a great vibe as soon as you step in the door. Shoutout to Georgia for providing the best service and giving us some good recommendations. She had the best energy and was calm yet efficient, despite the line. Good portion sizes and pretty standard pricing for this area of Denver. I will definitely be back, especially when Georgia is working! I recommend trying the strawberry chamomile if it's still available. read more

The area that this store is in can be very busy, The other shops and restaurants were busy with customers causing very little parking in the area and streets so narrow, it would tricky to even ride a bicycle here. After navigating several streets for a parking spot, I walked a few blocks to get here and oddly on a hot summer day, this place looked abandoned, no welcoming sign, no lights on in the shop itself, but the door was unlocked, so I ventured in to a single clerk almost hiding behind the counter. As I verbally expressed my order, she gave me a confused look, so I pointed to the menu on the wall and after my small single scoop cup of ice cream, I was flabbergasted at the nearly $10 price. I proceeded to render payment and she fumbled at the register as if it were a new piece of alien technology. This certainly will be a one and done for me. read more

There's so much to like about this place! Never too busy - even during peak summer season. The S Gaylord location is wonderful and pleasant for a stroll or to make this place a sweet treat to the end of your meal at a nearby spot. The street parking is easy with plenty of spots within a block of the ice cream shop. The service is super friendly and never rushes you! However, I'm sad to report that on my last visit here (8/24), the ice cream flavors are still very intriguing with lots of different combinations to try, but it didn't taste as rich/creamy and the nondairy scoops had some ice crystals, but maybe that's normal? In any case, great, easy, and friendly spot for interesting flavors, but average ice cream/sorbet texture. read more

Can't speak for Sweet Action as a whole but I had an awesome experience at this particular location! Connor was not only attentive and polite but also really pleasant which makes me want to keep coming back. Flavors - not your standard vanilla and chocolate type of ice cream shop but there are constantly new and creative flavors! Who does not want some 'sweet action' in their lives?! This is where 'sweet dreams are made of this' (Eurythmics) Lol After a nice walk with my boys at Wash Park and dinner has digested, we decided to grab some ice cream and stumbled across it on Yelp! Cute little place tucked between shops. We all had 2 scoops of different variations of ice cream on our cake cones. The scoops are generous for the price. Boy, do I miss the days when I could by ice cream like this for $1.25!!! Gosh, how times have changed and I'm able to live it and see it! That's some sweet action alright, mm mm MM. I spotted this cute little ice cream shop while waiting on lunch and knew I had to get some afterwards. I don't know what they put in there but please try the Chocolate Almond Butter flavor. If you are not allergic to nuts, I'm telling you it's a must. TOO GOOD! So buttery and so creamy, it's filled with almond chunks and chocolate chips. It truly is perfection. Oh Sweet Action, why did you do this to me? The temptation for your cream, sugar and frozen goodness was easier to avoid with your only location on Broadway. Now that you've moved into my neighborhood, I can say goodbye to my thighs. It's hard to walk by and not stick my head in to see which of your many variety of flavors you will have this week. My husband and I took our godsons to Sweet Action this afternoon. I can highly recommend the root beer float as one of my godsons said it was so good, it didn't seem real. They add a 18% service fee onto the bill for a "team member fee". Their menu advertises they have a no-tipping policy but in reality everybody pays a 18% tip. They don't mention the 18% service fee on the menu so it feels a little bit like false advertising. You don't even get an itemized list of what you're paying unless you ask for a printout. The ice cream is good but expensive and after adding the service fee it gets even more expensive. read more

I was at the wine and spirits festival today and stumbled across this cute ice cream shop. I ordered the mint chocolate chip which was so delicious. It was the just right balance of chocolate chips and ice cream. I have sampled many ice creams in my years and find it hard to find high density of chocolate chips. Bummed when we couldn't have sprinkles on my 3 year olds ice cream because it was in a small cup- I didn't understand that??? So... $12 for 2 single scoop cups and denied sprinkles. There are sprinkles all over this place- on the windows, on the sidewalk but not in the small cups of ice cream. read more

This is my new fav place to chow down on some delicious ice cream! I sampled a few flavors before landing on one. I have to say my experience was only elevated by the beautiful lady guiding me behind the counter. She was gregarious, witty, professional and beyond polite. Sweet action is by far the best ice cream shop in Denver. I have been going here for years and they always have new flavors, which are creative and amazing. They also have a fabulous vegan selection. Very cute, newly opened shop! I sampled three flavors: orange honeycomb, cold brew coffee, and watermelon mint (sorbet). All three were great, but I went with the sorbet, which was perfect for a warm, summer day. I love that they use steel ice cream dishes for eat-in customers. I expected a slightly less salty flavor like flavors such as salted caramel do, but it was almost a bit too much salt content inside an otherwise very sweet flavor. I almost regretted getting this flavor because with each bite, the salt was getting a bit overpowering. BANANA PUDDING This was probably my preferred flavor of the two. It didn't necessarily have a strong banana flavor punching through, but it was the right amount of sweetness that I wanted in an ice cream flavor.

I grew up in the South and I have been low-key grieving the lack of banana pudding culture everywhere else I've lived, and here it is -- in Denver, Colorado -- done absolutely right. I may have embarrassed myself slightly. No regrets. This is a Black woman-owned business and these two have built something truly special. It's family-friendly, it's joyful, and it has that rare quality of feeling like a place that was made with real love. If you're anywhere near the museum, you would be genuinely doing yourself a disservice to walk past this place. Go in. Get the banana pudding. Thank me later.
