What a fun spot! Opened by Ian Huizenga, owner and chef at the Antidote, this is not to be missed off the main road through Vergennes. Explore the appetizers or Anti Pizza and dive into pie and cocktails on a cold day. I can't tell you how much I love a beer cocktail. Try the Smokin Berry with stone cutters whiskey lemonade fresh berries, and Addison county tractor pils! Phenomenal! It pairs perfectly with the pickled veg and egg starter with just the right amount of zest. Sylvia our waitress made us feel right at home. She was excellent! The ambience during lunch was just what I needed on a cold fall day. You bet this will be my go to place! The Margherita pizza has roasted plum tomatoes, maplebrook farms mozzarella, herbs and garlic with an incredible olive oil drizzle. You can add your own toppings to this and make it your own. So good. In fact it was so good and had that perfect crust that we ordered a second pizza at lunch! The BBQ pizza has KC BBQ cherry wood smoked VT pork shoulder, shredded Cabot cheddar, habanero pickled red onions!!! Oh my God!!!! Just go!!!

First time at this place. They've got a well thought out pizza menu and it took a few minutes to decide which one I was going to get. I went with the Korean BBQ because it sounded so good. When the pizza came... Firstly, this is a big 12" pizza. Secondly, I was so excited about the pizza that I didn't read the entire description on the menu, and missed the fact that it had kimchi on it as a topping. WOW was that a good idea. This thing has a MONSTER flavor profile. Oh my god is this a good pizza. I think my only nitpick might be that although the crust was nailed at golden brown, I tend to like my pizzas with a little more black on the bottom, but again that's a nitpick. I'd have no problem paying full price for this pizza again and again. The bartender said that they have customers that come in over and over and order this pizza and only this pizza, and I believe her. No problem. I'm driving long distance tonight so regretfully I can't try any of their vast beer selection, but the menu looks delicious on that front as well. In short, I'm pretty sure I'll be dropping in here next time I'm in Vergennes again.

Hired hand brewing is a great brewery. I stopped there during my visit to Vermont. I really loved their milk stout, as I tried a flight of their five available beers. The bartender was very attentive and responsive. Their thin crust pizza was great too! I would go back just for that alone.

Amazing food and delicious beer! One of the best sandwiches I've had...maybe ever. It was a twist on a Cuban that totally worked. Dairy free sandwiches and pizza also available!

We decided to make the drive from BTV to check this place out. Oh boy. We had the roasted mushroom salad, with mushrooms roasted with some kind of black magic that made them devilishly delicious, with a peppery arugula salad, paired nicely with shaved parmasean and pickled eggs. Steamed pork buns with perfectly sweet and spicy sauce and kimchi like none Ive had since moving to Vermont. The ham and cheese board was worth it for perfectly savory cured ham and homemade apple sauce and mustard. And oh yeah, cant forget the pizza so we tried the sicilian and even though we got plain the taste was anything but. We will be back soon for sure.

    Marghareta pizza- traditional but good!

They were very helpful in accommodating our group of 9. But the food was so-so and the beer was particularly mediocre.

By far the best pizza in Addison County. We dine here on a regular basis and never leave disappointed.

Good beer, amazing pizza (this is from a pizza belt native!). Excellent addition to Vergennes, an already excellent town.

Service was good, but the kitchen was a bit slow. The food was excellent. 3 of us chose steak and eggs. The steak was easily the start of the meal. So delicious I wished I ordered it. The home fries were also amazing. I had the Starry breakfast. Basically it was bacon and eggs. Over medium eggs were perfect. Bacon was good not great. My son ordered French toast and it was super sweet but delicious. The orange cream on it was especially good. Definitely recommend brunch here.

It's that a friend treated me here because I did all the driving in and around the Green Mountains of Vermont to look at the scenery. Starry Night Cafe' is about fine dining. It's also about "new" cuisine, so that means creative culinary takes on what could be ordinary dishes. Sometimes I'll buy into the concept of "new" and sometimes I won't. Either way, the food here is not meant to be just like it is at all those other restaurants! The two chosen starters were a Caesar-like salad and a cheese plate. I liked my salad, but felt the cheese plate didn't have much to it, although the cheese was of high quality and good. The entrees selected were the mafaldine pasta and the salmon. My friend thought the salmon was good, and I thought my pasta was very good. Portions were about right for fine dining and, thankfully, not abysmally small. The mafaldine's presentation looked green as if it the sauce might be pesto, but it is not. It's a spinach pasta. Also, note that these are pronounced "mah-fahl-deen-eh" and not "mah-fahl-deen." A dessert was ordered and it featured berries and cream. I tried a little bit of it and it was delicious. The bread that arrived at the beginning of the meal was excellent. The serving staff seemed excited about the vaudouvan butter. This name doesn't mean anything to me. Should it? The menu mentioned that the butter was flavored with curry. I hesitated and was told that it was a French curry. I wondered how that might be different. Still, no matter how much or how little you use of it, the aftertaste lingers for too long. I did not like this nifty butter. Starry Night Cafe' looks inconspicuous from the parking lot. Once inside, there are several nice rooms in which to eat and you initially see a tastefully appointed bar. Each of the dining spaces has a slightly different personality. There are even outdoor spaces flanked by a large pond that would have worked well if it wasn't as humid as it was that day. Even the restrooms are decked out, right down to what might be oil paintings by local artists ... and the restrooms even smell good! The name of the restaurant does indeed refer to the work of Vincent Van Gogh. The service is excellent. They both explain the dishes you inquire about and answer other questions you might have. Being my usual self, I was observing and making assessments of the situation, such as the service and its style. It was funny in that it tried to be informal and even a little folksy, given that it's Vermont, when it is in fact fine dining. In reality, the real vibe was that the interaction was more formal than in many nicer restaurants, whether rural or urban. With that said, Starry Night is an expensive restaurant. I asked my friend about all the 5 star ratings. My friend said that, for Vermont, it is probably a 5 star event, but if it was in New York City and its environs, it would most likely fetch 4 stars. I'll go with that logic. The entree and the dessert were very tasty, but I did not like there being a polarizing spice in the butter, nor the small portion of the (other person's) cheese plate. I did appreciate the curated atmosphere and the professional service. Starry Night Cafe' made for a very interesting experience. I chose things from the menu that worked for me. I'm glad that I was taken here to eat, and I'm (humorously) stressing the words "taken here."

Starry Night Café - This might be the biggest and most rustic of the dining rooms, and it would probably look great during fall color or when snowing outside
