Karl came out to measure all the windows, made sure everything was precise, and took the time to help me choose a color that really fits the space. I appreciated how easy he made the decision-making process. Installation was just as seamless--everything fits perfectly and looks fantastic. It's clear Karl takes pride in his work and pays attention to detail. I'm really happy with how everything turned out and would definitely recommend his services to anyone looking for quality custom blinds.

Stop in and talk to Ted or Karl and they'll provide advice and assistance on all your painting, staining, varnishing, and decorating needs. They can match and custom tint your paint. They'll save the particular paint colors for each room of your home in their computer system in case you ever need to order more or touch-up a room. The store sells painting, staining, and varnishing supplies, as well as shades and blinds. While the Benjamin Moore paint line costs a bit more, we've found countless times that their paints will cover with less paint than cheaper brands from elsewhere. Benjamin Moore paints coat nearly every room of our home and it's held up well over the years. I highly recommend the store not only for the high quality paint, but also the individualized service you'll receive from the owners.

BUT I went in to Sherwin Williams for oil based paint in a specific color and they pushed the Emerald Urethane paint for my project talking about it's "superior qualities" and how it's the best product on the market. So they created the color for me and I go to check out - NINETY some dollars per gallon and the stuff covered terribly! If I had known the price, I would never have even attempted it, but to make matters worse, I found the product terrible to work with. Using their recommended paintbrush, it took a minimum of 4 coats (which considering all the trim work I was doing, made the project very slow going.) It also drips terribly and makes the molded corners look muddy. The only way for me to avoid that was to almost dry brush those areas which then required even more than 4 coats. Even now after several touch ups, it has not coated the cabinet evenly or smoothly. Then, because of all the coating and re-coating, I had to buy more of the stuff (rather than switch to the oil based I had wanted the whole time because I was over midway through the project.). Heartbroken at the wasted time and sooo much expense for a product that was not nearly as effective as a gallon half the price. So sad. : (

Shopping at Patina has always been a cherished part of our outings. Sadly, that tradition came to an abrupt and upsetting end yesterday on Mother's Day. I share this as a warning to others: the Patina team appears more interested in targeting their customers than treating them with dignity or respect. On Mother's Day, the Roseville store manager, Trina, accused my 83-year-old mother of shoplifting-- claiming she saw her steal something several weeks earlier. My mother is one of the kindest, most honest people you could ever meet. She's a retired retail associate who spent over a decade at Herbergers and has never stolen a thing in her life. Trina offered zero proof-- no video, no photo, no name on file. Trina, along with an associate with a judging attitude, showed us one blurry image of a person standing at the counter, photographed from behind, who could've been anyone. Claiming this has some sort of proof. Trina also claimed a police report had been filed and that my mother spoke to police. She gave us a case number. When we contacted the Roseville Police Department, we were told no reports were filed in 2025. The case number Trina gave us referred to a 2024 incident involving a woman with the initials B. W. - not even close to my mother's name. This was a blatant attempt to justify a false accusation and make us go away. I followed up yesterdays incident by emailing the district manager, Karin Tappero, as directed by staff. I did not receive a response. Being wrongly accused and publicly embarrassed-- on Mother's Day, no less -- was incredibly hurtful. It completely overshadowed what was meant to be a joyful day. My mom and I were left shaken, humiliated, and heartbroken. After decades of loyalty, I can't express how degrading and disappointing this experience was. Patina used to be such a fun shop for us to go to together. We will never return to any of their stores and happy to bring our business elsewhere. In today's retail climate, it's astonishing that Patina has no problem alienating and falsely accusing longtime customers. Shoppers deserve better.

There's a large variety of products throughout the store, and they're organized very intuitively. I was super excited my most recent visit to see that they carry several kinds of Smiskis, including hippers. And the prices felt pretty reasonable -- the hipper was about $12, and the normal ones were about $10. They also have one of the largest selections of Jelly Cats I've seen in person. So many things they carry are right up my alley, and it's a great place to spend time just looking at everything.
