    X-large pho bowl

X-large bowl of pho was really big. My daughter approved. It was different then traditional pho because they added a lot cilantro and they gave romaine hearts instead of basil. The food was good, service was good.

Very friendly staff. Second time here and I got the chicken thigh with sticky rice and pork eggroll. Everything was delicious. Very chill low key place.

    Regular pho

I recently dined at hmong's golden egg rolls and I just wanted to highlight their server Adeline. the restaurant was full and she was very tentative to each guest. Adeline is an amazing young lady and was carrying all the load on her own even though there was another server . It was an amazing experience and I think she deserves a raise!!

Considering that this was an egg roll spot, I didn't they think the egg rolls were that great! They were freshly made but it had more veggies than meat. I was unable to taste the pork, I had to inspect my egg rolls to make sure they had protein. Egg rolls are larger than I thought but my review is really about their tilapia! The tilapia is perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside. The tomato & garlic sauce it comes with compliments well with the fish. It definitely brings the dish together. I loved it!

    Chicken wing appetizer

Food was great as always! I had the pork egg roll, so good. The sauce is different than other places. I also had the chicken wings. They are sweet and spicy. My main dish wasted curry with beef. So good, an earthy flavor to it. It didn't appear to have coconut milk in it. The service was excellent. The 2 waitstaff alternated between serving and cashier. They were polite and kind to everyone who came in, used their name, and asked if they needed anything else on a polite, kind manner. The most notable was that they worked as a team and helped each other. They were equally as kind to each other as they were to customers. The music sounded traditional Asian with flutes. Many years ago, they played funk and it was such a cool vibe. Still love the atmosphere!

Pho is 7-8/10. Not the best but not the worst. It's ok to cure a pho crave. Eggrolls are 6/10. I wish they added more meat. Felt like I was just eating a bunch of veggies inside the eggroll. The sauce was a little weird. It looked like pepto bismol. Tastes like sweet/sour sauce mixed with something else to make it thick. Maybe mixed with pepto? Papaya is 8-9/10. Pretty good. The waitress said their peppers were really spicy and so we asked for 2-3 peppers to make it "medium hot" but when we ate the papaya we couldn't taste any spice. We actually came home and added 4 more peppers. Haha. Overall the papaya was good. Can't complain too much. Will go back for papaya if having a crave.

Still my fav papaya salad (thai style). A good balance of spicy, sour, and savory fish sauce!

    Hubs beef stir fry $12.95.

Ask the Community - Hmong's Golden Egg Rolls

Can their pho be made vegetarian or vegan?

I don't think it is possible since the broth is cooked with pork/beef bones. If you are fine with the meat broth, you can ask to opt-out the meat toppings.

It's easy to miss if you're not looking for it, right on the end of the ACE hardware building. Plenty of parking and it seems they do quite a bit of take-out business as well dine in for a limited amount of people- I think there were about 8 tables. I will say that they served the best Crab Rangoon's I've ever had to date. I believe there was onion in the mix, and visible meat. I almost placed a second order! My Pad Thai was also very flavorful and not too sweet. I decided on no spice, and that was a good call for me. The sauce that came with my husband's dish was, I'm told, very good but also quite spicy. I definitely would not have handled it well. The spicy chicken wings were addictive. Spice level was an 8 on 10 for me. Not too bad at first but my lips were on fire for a good 30 minutes after! Worth it though. I hope to come back on my next trip through Holmen, if you live in the area, don't sleep on this place. It's pretty legit and I'd place Taste of Thai in my top three places for great Thai cuisine.
