What a pleasant surprise this restaurant was! At Fort McCoy for training and so happy this place is close by. I know there's limited vegan options near the area and glad they were able to accommodate me! Situated in the downtown area, came in on a snowy night and it instantly felt cozy. The menu is located right by the entrance and you order right then and there. Plenty of seating around. Our food was brought out in timely manner. The workers were so friendly and kind. Ate my food so fast (I was starving + it was delicious!) Highly recommend visiting here if you're looking for some great ramen.

Amazing food and attention to quality. Endluged in the gyoza, tonkotsu (delicious creamy sesame broth) was lacking a kick of spice, and the tantanmen! Delicious flavors in a unique space!

Who would have thought there would be an AMAZING ramen restaurant in the middle of Wisconsin?? Great place to go if you're at Fort McCoy. We stopped in for dinner and were very happy with our ramen. I ordered the Shoyu, and I could have eaten more - the portion size was perfect but it was that good.

Outstanding ramen! We tried the Tonkotsu and Kimchi, while both was very good we fought over the Kimchi with its unique flavor and spicy broth.

"Hidden national treasure" summarizes better than "hidden gem." Tonkotsu as a noun hits almost as aggressively off the tongue syllabically hard as the punch this wide bowl packs. The Tonkotsu broth warms your bones good and its scent wafts over you even gooder (yup). Delicately laid down, its noodles are like angel hair and adorned with braids of dark shredded mushrooms, light pickle pink cabbage, and little green scallions. Passionately arrayed, its thinly sliced pork belly takes hold of the bowl as the imposing soy-marinated half-egg sinks deeper and deeper. You will not have had an afterglow like that once your done in a very long time. This place is simple deadly and 6-minute FAST. It masters its craft with only 6 bowls and 2 sides. Let the powerfully efficient and highly polite owner choose your drink for you. Sit down and get ready to lick it up like Paul Stanley. Post Script guidebook (for the "plan-ahead" types): -tonkotsu = pork bone broth -shoyu = soy broth -tantanmen (Chinese) = sesame seed paste, chili oil and doubanjiang -miso = soy and a vegetarian broth -kimchi (Korean) = spicy broth of pickled cabbage

I'm not from the area but everyone was raving about this new ramen spot so I knew I had to try it out while in town. I started out with the pork gyoza and they were really good. I liked out the bottom had a nice sear to them. I was trying to save some for later but they were that good. I ended up getting tonkotsu ramen with the chili oil on the side. I was nervous about the chill oil being to spicy but it wasn't. I ended up adding all of it into my ramen. The pork was really good, it was full of flavor and the egg of course was also really good. The only thing I didn't like was the ginger inside of the ramen. I am a ginger fan but I think that it over powered the ramen in my opinion if you ended up getting a bite of it. Other than that I enjoyed it. If you are looking for something warm to fill you up I would highly suggest this place.

What a wonderful and unexpected find in small town Wisconsin. I was passing through in my motorcycle and wanted to grab dinner but it was getting "late" and not too many places were open till 9. A quick survey of the area revealed Matsumoto Ramen House and I figured what the heck, I could run a train on some ramen. I was greeted by one of the owners who tells me she grew up in Japan, so she knows what she's doing! Not my first ramen rodeo but I asked for a rundown on the menu and was given the gist of everything they had. I went with the Tonkatsu Black Ramen, the black being black garlic. I also got a Sapporo because when in Rome.. The food was great, the beer was great, the service was great. It's a decently sized place with a bright and clean dining area. Should I find myself back in the area, I will most certainly be mailing a stop here again. Oh, and I also bought an enamel pin of a cat eating ramen because why wouldn't I?!

Great Ramen. We pulled off the freeway at lunchtime. Excellent quality, flavors, and accommodating service.
