This spot basically checks all the boxes: good, reasonably priced sandwiches, great service and…read moresuper cute vibes. The interior is well designed, and the outdoor seating is pleasant. We ordered the BLTT and prosciutto parma. Both were solid, but we preferred the BLTT. The sandwiches are well constructed -- would be good picnic sandwiches! I enjoyed the bread -- it has integrity without being too hard to bite through. The BLTT is an elevated BLT with turkey, and the basil mayo and saba (which I believe adds a sweetness) are a nice touch. I loved that they didn't skimp on the prosciutto in the prosciutto parma, and the sharp tanginess from the slaw was a nice contrast to the fatty prosciutto and ricotta -- though some bites were just a bit too acidic, making the BLTT our preference. All the ingredients tasted high quality and well thought out. The BLTT was $12 and the prosciutto parma was $13, which might be on the higher end for sandwiches but not unreasonable for a meal, especially considering how good the ingredients are, in my opinion. I'd definitely return to try their other options, too!

Second time here and it blew us away even more!…read more We have gotten the BLTT, Prosciutto de Parma, and the Spicy Italian. All were some of best sandwiches I've had. The BLTT was our favorite of the three, but all blew us away! Scallion potato salad is great too. I love that the meat is local and so much of their sauces and everything are homemade which we always appreciate. Service is always friendly and restaurant is always clean. Fun to browse their unique and local grocery items while you're waiting for your food. They also have some good Happy Hour deals! For special dietary needs: they have gluten free bread and you can make any sandwich into a salad (for keto, gf, etc).

Our hike ended…read moreearly so we popped in here around 10:30 on a Sunday morning and were surprised we could get a table right away (was crowded but there were a couple of tables for large groups). Cate G was an excellent server and totally not ruffled by our large group. It was no problem when we asked for separate checks - she just asked that we not play musical chairs! We were chilled from our hike so the tumeric antioxidant tea with honey (extra charge) and lemon hit the spot. We had only planned on staying for a warm beverage before heading out to lunch elsewhere but the food menu enticed us so we decided to stay. The menu offered food I love as a vegetarian! I had the Ancient Buddha Bowl with farro (quinoa is an alternative). Tumeric toasted cauliflower, roasted sweet potatoes, beets, sumac roasted chickpeas, crisped kale/brussel sprouts mix with a lemon tahini dressing. So much goodness in a bowl!! There were so many other choices but if I were to eat here again, I would try the housemade vegan burger or one of their salads. It was a bit noisy with so many people but not so that our group was not able to enjoy conversation. Family friendly with a kids corner stocked with toys.

It is also a very family friendly place with a play area for little ones. The place is busy, so service takes a little while. Overall, a great brunch spot.

Around the 90-minute mark, we got a text saying we were 2nd in line to be seated. When we let the hostess know, she snapped back, "That doesn't mean you'll be next." She explained--in a very rude, condescending tone--that smaller groups would be seated ahead of us if a table opened for four. Not ideal, but we stayed patient. While waiting, we noticed tables being cleaned and split apart from a larger party near the bar. I politely asked the hostess if those tables could be used for our group. She cut me off mid-sentence and spoke to me extremely slowly and dismissively, as though I didn't understand basic seating. It was unnecessary and unprofessional, but again--we stayed calm. When we were finally seated, our group was split between two different sections, even though the tables were literally touching each other. The boys ended up with two tables of their own, and the adults were placed at two tables next to them. We still had three more adults arriving, so we asked our server (who was wonderful) if we could move one unused table from the boys' area to the adult side. She said she'd need a manager. Who shows up? The same rude hostess--now calling herself the manager. We asked if we could move the unneeded table so our adults could sit together. She immediately refused and started lecturing us about "affecting her waitresses' livelihood." She insisted each waitress needed their own tables and that she wouldn't "take away" from them. She repeated "livelihood" multiple times, even though we clearly explained that we were all on the same bill and were trying to make things easier for everyone, including the staff. We offered multiple reasonable solutions: Seat us together while allowing both servers to split the table and the tips Let the servers collaborate since we were one large group Allow us to use one table that was otherwise empty Every suggestion was shut down. She told us she had been "accommodating enough already." That line alone says everything. Meanwhile, the actual waitresses were fantastic. We tipped them very well because they provided great service. Our frustration was 100% with the "manager/hostess," not the servers. We visit the Buzzard Billy's in Des Moines regularly and have always had excellent experiences. Unfortunately, the La Crosse location handled customer service very differently--and not in a good way. Being talked down to, dismissed, and blamed for impacting staff "livelihood" when we were simply trying to sit together was unacceptable. For large groups: I cannot recommend this location. We won't be returning. Do better, Wisconsin.

It was definitely my favorite out of everything we ordered. We also shared the veggie stir fry (medium spicy), green curry with chicken, veggie pad lad nad, chicken leg quarter, and whole tilapia. The standouts were the veggie stir fry and green curry. They were so flavorful and perfectly seasoned, great over sticky rice. I also love that the rice was served in cute baskets. The tilapia was a little disappointing but I'm glad I tried it. I also ordered the Naab Vaam drink and I loved it! Not overly sweet and very refreshing. I could tell that the place was a bit understaffed that day but overall everyone was friendly. No outdoor seating but plenty of indoor seating. I'd come back again for Hmong's golden pork egg rolls!

They tasted great, I loved. the dipping sauces, but the pork was just very very thin strips, can't say I really noticed it, but both were tasty. The egg rolls were different than I've ever had in that they were long and thin - think I prefer them this way. They came out crispy and very hot to the table. We shared the fried chicken leg, which was the drumstick and the thigh, with sticky rice. I loved how they cut it into four pieces and how crispy the skin was. For dessert I had their special drink/dessert the Nab Vam. It is a "tapioca dessert drink filled with colorful jellies, crunchy water chestnuts, chewy pearls, lightly sweet with creamy coconut". It was not only beautiful, but delicious. Service was quick, and it's a bright, airy place, and I definitely would go back again.

We even checked their online menu and made reservations only to arrive with a whole new menu to look at. They're no longer serving prime or smoked back ribs. A lot of customers were disappointed when they were given the new menu. We stuck it out and got our usual appetizer (stuffed mushrooms - a lot meatier than before. No complaints!) My husband got the smoked sampler (pork chop, pulled pork and burnt ends) , that was alright. Sauce was a bit too sweet for us. Pork chop was cooked to perfection! Kudos to that! I got the crusted salmon - which was disappointing because it was over cooked and soggy with no seasoning. Our side veggies were under cooked and not seasoned at all. We did get the cheddar potatoe soup. It wasn't what it used to be - lacked cheddar so it was just more so potatoe soup. My waitress forgot my baked potatoe but i was too full from disappointment that i didn't bother to ask for it. Service was good. It was a steady crowd. Not too busy. Just wished the goodies from the old menu stayed.
