Excellent food, great service. Only one young woman was handling all the tables and the register the night we stopped in. I was amazed at how well she kept up with everything! It's easy to miss if you're not looking for it, right on the end of the ACE hardware building. Plenty of parking and it seems they do quite a bit of take-out business as well dine in for a limited amount of people- I think there were about 8 tables. I will say that they served the best Crab Rangoon's I've ever had to date. I believe there was onion in the mix, and visible meat. I almost placed a second order! My Pad Thai was also very flavorful and not too sweet. I decided on no spice, and that was a good call for me. The sauce that came with my husband's dish was, I'm told, very good but also quite spicy. I definitely would not have handled it well. The spicy chicken wings were addictive. Spice level was an 8 on 10 for me. Not too bad at first but my lips were on fire for a good 30 minutes after! Worth it though. I hope to come back on my next trip through Holmen, if you live in the area, don't sleep on this place. It's pretty legit and I'd place Taste of Thai in my top three places for great Thai cuisine. read more

Efficient little restaurant. They must do more pick up/delivery service as there are only about 10 tables inside. One gal serving tables and at the counter, but she was friendly and available. I got the Crab Rangoons and Drunken Noodles with pork. SO GOOD. The Crab Rangoon came as an order of 4 packed full and folded over into a triangle rather than a pouch. More room for filling! Drunken noodles were perfect. Wide flat noodles, plentiful veggies and pork, not very spicy (great for my mild palate). I wish I got to order the Shrimp Blanket but they had sold out earlier in the day. Guess I'll just have to go back I just hope they have diet soda when I go back. My wife brought me here for a date and said it was the best Thai she has ever had. She was not wrong. The food was incredible, I had a Pad Thai, she had another entree with rice noodles and veggies, and we shared a plate of egg rolls. The prices are very low, and the food quality is unbelievable. The employees are friendly and speak fluent English. The interior area is quiet, with relaxing music playing. It is important to note that there is limited seating. The chicken satay was phenomenal, the drunken noodles and red curry tasted delicious and authentic. Very limited seating. Ordered a special today, chicken wing app. The wings aren't on the menu. Pad Thai is a price special. Entrees to share Pork Pad Kee Mao, (drunken noodle) and Thai Basil Shrimp Fried Rice. Pho only has beef and meatballs and priced at $7.95. They also offer shrimp or combo. I'll try it next time. I've rated this before one bite. It's at seating capacity and everyone is eating with a mission. Smells great! They have bubble tea and rolled ice cream. Menu desserts are fried banana rolls, pumpkin custard and a coconut sticky rice. These all sound lovely, but Hubs is scowling at me as he knows I'll be too full. On New Years Day... who knows? Great food and service. We have tried almost all of their dishes and they all have been amazing. Staff is very respectful and kind.

There food is, I'd say, mediocre Thai. We came in and ordered Thai tea, shrimp pad Thai and drunken man noodles. In term of the service, even though our servers were really nice, it was really slow. They didn't really have a lot of people but for some reason, it took them so long to bring out our food. In term of food, the pad Thai was fine. If you are familiar with That food, it isn't much special but it wasn't bad. It lacks of the peanut-y tasting but it wasn't bad. The drunken noodles was quite dissapointing. It was really oily and too sweet for my taste. The vegetables were over cooked and had so much grease in them. The Thai tea was okay, it was a tad too sweet and you can't really taste the tea on top of all the milk. However, since the restaurant is in a small town in the Midwest, I can understand that they have to change some of the dishes to cater to the right audiences since traditional Thai spices may be a bit too odd for someone who aren't used to them. Tried coming to the restaurant multiple times within the last few weeks..have called to check the hours- stating they are open both on the voicemail and online, show up and they are not. The Facebook page also is not updated to state they are closed (when stated they are open online). Very disappointed & a waste of gas. Don't believe the hours at all. read more

They are only doing take out right now but I was not disappointed! I ordered the green curry with shrimp. Was a little over $12 and was very hot and delicious! Enough food for 2 meals and plenty of shrimp. One thing to note. I like spicy but was warned that most people think their medium was too hot. Glad I listened. This review is based on but one takeaway meal and shall be updated as and when certain return visits allow. Green papaya salad, Laotian style was dressed in a lovely fish sauce-based sauce and garnished with peanuts and peppers. The deep fried egg rolls were nicely fried, and lifted by a tasty plum dipping sauce. I'm very fond of curry and was more than satisfied by the the red curry with chicken served over white rice. I look forward to return visits and encourage anyone reading this review and in the neighborhood to give Taste of Thai a go. read more

Husband and I were driving through. We were greeted with warm smiles right away. We were seated and serve with water within the first 5 min. Husband ordered the blood noodle. I ordered meatball beef pho. I also risked it by ordering their Thai style papaya salad. I asked for less sugar and more sour with medium spiciness. The waitress really listened and relayed the orders to the cook when she went back. Our food was serve in less than 20 min. Husband and I are both picky when it comes to pho and papaya salad.. I'm a mom of 6 and cooking is one of my specialties so I am severely picky not on just food but in service as well. Husband loves his pho and I have no complaints as well.. super delicious. Plain and simple, I love this restaurant. I have gotten their Thai and Laos style papaya salads, Pho, Pad Thai, the Tom Yum, and curries. All of which are delicious and decently priced. The service is great but the wait time has been hit or miss, depending on business. The place is small so there is sometimes not enough seating as it's a popular place but it has never been more than a 15 minute wait for me. The Papaya salad and Pho is a must get! Food is good and sometimes really good, but the estimate on the time for to go orders is terrible. Plan on waiting longer than they say. The place is only doing to go orders, but they could still provide a better waiting area that cleaner and more presentable. The windows should be cleaned at least monthly. We were in the Holmen area 6/23 when ur evening activity in LaCrosse feel through. So as we traveled back to Holmen in search of food beyond the gastro-pub fare, we stumbled on Taste of Thai. All five of us were fans of Thai so we figured why not. Much to our surprise, the small location served up service in a big way. We arrived at 7:35 to place a take order just prior to the 8 pm close. Three tables were occupied when we arrived. The people at the hostess stand were very welcoming and didn't comment on a 5 person order 25 minutes prior to close. Moreover, the hostess won our aged or questions and answered all questions. Our group ordered Pad Thai, Pad Prik King, avocado egg roles, and chicken satay. The Pad Prik King was hot at medium. I'm not afraid of a little heat but this medium was spicier than what I expected. Not make your head sweat hot, but close. I enjoyed the spice as it was not the cheap "burn your lips only" hot. I finished the dish. The chicken satay was very good. Our friend who ordered the Pad Thai didn't have any issues with the spice. All in all, I highly recommend Taste of Thai and will return again when in the area. read more

Excellent Thai restaurant and very friendly staff. Had a vegetarian in our group and someone with a nut allergy. The restaurant sent the chef to our table to make sure we got exactly what we needed (no fish sauce, no nuts). Food was delicious and staff was attentive to all of our needs. This is by far the best Thai restaurant in the La Crosse area!OK It's the only one! But, all kidding aside, having lived in bigger cities and frequenting reputable Thai restaurants in big cities I have to say that the food here was excellent! Dined in once and had take out once. The dining space itself is nice and cozy. Fairly new place so that the decor and furniture is all new. It's very welcoming. So far, I have had the Thai basil fried rice, the Massaman curry, the red curry, and the drunken noodles.....it's the real stuff people!!! Even had a couple of Singha beer to go with my take out! Wow, was this good! I got the glass noodles with pork (Pad Woon Sen), and my wife had their signature Thai Rice with chicken. Very large portions, lots of vegetables but the right balanceproportion of vegetables/noodles/meat, and not chopped so large like some places. Good seasoning and flavor without being overdone. And incredibly, our two dishes were less than $10! ( P.S. Go ahead and raise prices 15-20%, at least of some of the menu, and it will still be a good value.) Only constructive comment is needed plasticware and napkin in our carry-out bag. We don't live in Holmen, but if we're that side of La Crosse, I'd readily drive 15-20 minutes to get carry-out or even eat in the small seating area.
