Saw Dr. Wu, and a PA over Telehealth. Neither of them really seemed to know what they were doing. The PA called me to discuss test results and said that no diagnosis could be made based on the blood test, and that I needed to come into the office for Imaging. I told her a couple of times that my insurance isn't great and they would likely want me to get my imaging done at a third party location as they have done in the past. She insisted that my imaging could be done in office and made an appointment a month later. La Palma is an hour+ drive both ways from my city, and the appointment was in the early afternoon so I left work early to make it. There were no notes for Dr. Wu, no paperwork was ever started on my imaging meaning I drove 2 hours and left work early to make an appointment I waited a month to for nothing. After visiting this establishment and being consulted with Ruey-Jen Chang P.A. -C she told me I should continue to take the Rx that was making me hallucinate, question my own sanity among many other symptoms I was experiencing from Plaquenil. My instinct told me to stop right there and not to proceed with this personals assistance. I'm glad this was just a 2nd opinion and not my main rheumatologist. Thank God. read more

I am sorry I have to give one star to write a review. They should allow us to leave negative stars. FYI, this is the same Gerald Y. Ho that has an office in Monterey Park, CA, he has two office locations. You will wait at least 30 to 60 minutes or longer before seeing the doctor. You can never reach anyone on the phone. I have to fax my questions or problems and even then they receive very little attention. They messed up one of my regular prescriptions. After sending two faxes I finally reached the office on the phone and they had ignored my faxes and done nothing. The boy could not find records of the medication I have been taking for years so he said no one could do anything he had to contact the doctor. I could not wait on the phone he would just send him a message in another office. It took over a week for me to get my correct prescription. This is only ONE example and is NOT unusual for this office and this is NOT the first problem I have had with them, this is the way they do things all the time. This doctor runs an understaffed factory. His staff does everything and he comes in at the end for about two minutes, says as little as possible and then leaves. He has some large young male assistants who could not be less interested or involved. He only bothers to come in to see the patient at all so he can bill the office visit to the insurance company. He has not adequately addressed my severe pain issues and he refuses to give me a referral to a pain management doctor. When they finally did prescribe a strong pain medicine, they gave me one that severely aggravated my COPD and I wound up in the emergency room. If my insurance company had another Rheumatologist that would work for me in my area I would NOT be seeing this one! Beware! read more

If there was an option for no stars.... I came here in 2017 and saw Ruey-Jen Chang she was great. She was very attentive. All treatments and medication were always done and on time. After having my baby, I return to the office and agree to see Dr Gerald Ho. I have been trying to get a refill approved for 2 days. My last fill was over a month ago and my next appointment is until January 28. With this pain I for sure can't wait that long. I'm in so much pain that makes it difficult to move and take care of my 9 month old. This week of rain doesn't help. Well a nurse said he saw my request on day one and asked not to fill it yet that he will reply later. Day 2, I've been calling all day. It is 3 pm and the nurse said he has seen my emails, but has not replied. That a PA will be here tomorrow and she can fill it. Seriously?! The main doctor is failing to help me so I have to wait another day for his PA! Very unprofessional! At least let a patient know why you want to wait to refill in the first place instead of making us wait in pain. My last resort which I didn't want to do is go to spend hours at the emergency room. Worst experience with the front desk person supposly she's the office supervisor her name is Maria. One thing to have in mind is if you get there 5 mints early your appointment you have to wait until the person that has an appointment head of you shows up so if your is at 945am you show up 945am the 930 am shows up than you have to wait. Not only that Maria still wants to impower over you with her tone of voice were she will respond to you on a argument tone come on you suppose to give the your Co workers the example if you weren't in the mood to be in front that just have someone else. Now I have to wait 2 more months. I hope their staff get a training session how to treat patients. read more

Really bad experience with the front desk people it took me days and days of calling to make an appointment and the woman who answered the phone put me on hold for more than an hour! Unbelievable! I went to my appointment which was at 9:30 after wating and waiting they finally called my name at 10:50 I tried to talk to the front Lady and it was worst she has such a bad attitude and her tone is as bad when I finally saw the Dr. he got me so disappointed that as soon as I got in my car I started crying of frustration and pain! My appointment was with Dr. Wu but I was redirected to Dr. Ho instead. No problem... I don't really understand the previous negative reviews as my experience was MUCH different! The staff was very busy as to be expected in this type of office but they got to me in a timely manner and were very pleasant. I expected a wait when I arrived just because of the type of doctors office this was, these patients sometimes need more time than scheduled appointment because they are very ill. I took this into consideration while waiting about 15 minuets to be seen. Dr. Ho had a nice presence about him and he made me feel very comfortable. He was very attentive and asked me lots of questions... I mean lots! He spent ALOT of time with me trying to figure out what was going on and really focused on finding the best starting point for all my issues. He explained EVERYTHING to me and answered all my questions. I hope that my future visits go as well as my first visit. read more

Dr. Wu has to be the best doctor hands down. He is very caring and actually listens to my questions and concerns and doesn't just write prescriptions. I have SLE & Lupus Nephritis, and High Blood Pressure. Dr. Wu has been helpful these last couple of years and hopeful he is my Doctor for many years to come! read more

I agree with the other review. I took my mother (she has RA and lupus) to Dr. Ho's Atlantic Blvd. office in Monterey Park. We saw another doctor but it was an equally terrible experience. They close their office earlier than 5pm so when I went to fill my mom's prescription for shingles and the medication was unavailable there was NO ONE around to authorize an alternative. I called the service and they paged the on- call physician who NEVER called me back. When I called the next morning, the front desk was ridiculously lazy and unhelpful and apparently the doctor we saw doesn't come in until 2:30pm. If the office closes at 4:30pm what the hell's the point? The doctor was terrible at communicating with my mother who was angry and in even more pain after the appointment. Admittedly part of this is due to a bit of a language barrier, but her whole attitude sucked. Some doctors work in areas where they don't deal with patients on a regular basis, instead working in research or for insurance companies. This is one of those doctors. Honey, just cause your parents wanted you to be a doctor doesn't mean you should have. The ONLY helpful human being in that entire office is Donna, one of the nurses, who helped my mom at the office and then spoke to me on the phone about the problem with the medication. Unfortunately, one good nurse is not worth coming back to this place, especially when it's a half hour drive to get there. Back to the GP for another referral. read more

Dr. Ho was lousy. Never listened; never did anything to try and diagnose me. Kept telling me to just work-out. (Yah right. My joints are grinding LOUD and locking on me all over the place!) I suggested he start with a Joint Aspiration Test since I have little fluid in my joints so we could see if my synovial fluid chemistry is ok or infected. He said, "No." I said, "Don`t you hear the LOUD grinding in my shoulder when I move my arm?" He said "Oh Yes. I hear it." I said "So... let`s check-out my joint fluid." Do not go to this doctor!!! Dr Gerald Ho doesn't care about his patients, I have Lupus and needed to see a specialist my first and only visit the doctor made jokes about my condition. I feel horrible as it because I have the Lupus rash all over!!! It is coving my back and legs and when I showed him how bad it was "this specialist" I have been waiting to see laughed and said"go see a dermatologist" I am in so much pain I can't sleep at night, I have mouth ulcers, and a rash coving my body and he did nothing!!!! read more
