My husband and I have been there three times, and the food is absolutely fresh and hot every time. Dishes can be made to order, i.e., no broccoli or extra sauce, etc. The waiters/waitresses are very friendly and the food is better than any other Chinese restaurant around. The decor is just beautiful and the washrooms are immaculate. And best of all, you cannot beat the prices! I would recommend going for lunch rather than dinner. The lunch special gives you a lot of food for a very reasonable price. By accident I drove by Ho Ping Garden with son, and I'd heard of it, so we stopped in for Sunday lunch. Very fine food. We asked them for their Chinese menu as well as the standard menu that they gave us first (we're Caucasians). There is some overlap on the two menus. But basically I just targeted items highlighted by the restaurant as new or chef's specials. We had a Singapore Ho Fun noodles dish with both Shrimp and pPork and maybe tofu proteins in there, also a pork stir-fry with what they called leeks (but I think the greens were actually Chinese Gai Lan rather than leeks--good for them). Also got some perfectly done fried wontons as a shared appetizer. Everything was cooked to perfection. This place joins J.W. Chen's as where I'd send someone for Chinese food around here. read more

We often get takeout sushi from Ho Ping and it's pretty good. We've honestly never had anything other than sushi, so I can't speak for that however their volcano roll and their Mississippi roll are very good. I also get their sashimi platter which I also like which includes white tuna, salmon, tuna, and the fourth type usually varies between some type of yellowtail or mackerel. Miso soup is pretty good and I think the price is reasonable for sushi. I don't think it is as good as Toyo grill or Woochi but it is much closer to home and the service is friendly read more

I had another great meal at this restaurant! The portions are huge. I had shrimp with snow pea pods. My wife had Generals Shrimp. Been going here for 14 years, but the last few times have been so disappointing. Food just isn't up to par. Lettuce wraps came out in dead wilted lettuce and had no flavor. My grandson ordered Moo shoo chicken which supposed to be served with a scallion pancake and they served it with dried out tortillas. I love Mongolian beef and theirs used to be good, but the sauce is way too thick from too much corn starch and had zero flavor. Service was terrible. I generally go to a buffet when I do Chinese or Japanese, but this sit-down-waiter restaurant has a very good menu and they do have good portions. 5 of us were here for dinner and we all enjoyed our food, our waiter was excellent, and the prices were very fair. I thought that I had forgot to leave a tip, so called them and they confirmed that I did leave it on my credit card-how honest of them. The place is nice, clean, well arranged and in tip-top shape. The food is incredibly fresh and high quality and the portions are large. The restaurant itself is very aesthetically pleasing and comfortable as well as spacious. I've had the shrimp and chicken lo mein and they are very flavorful and the noodles are perfectly cooked. They also have many vegetarian options and can accommodate people easily, for example my cousin who is allergic to soy. Of course when you come here you have to pair your meal with their green tea.
