I eat lunch here on a regular basis. It has become my favorite Chinese restaurant. I have never had bad service, nor have I been disappointed with my meals. Food is always cooked to perfection and brought to my table quickly. All the staff are extremely friendly. The prices are reasonable on the lunch menu as well. I highly suggest if you haven't eaten here, stop in. You won't be disappointed. Some of my favorites are: Chicken Fried Rice with Egg Drop Soup, General Tsos as well as Sweet n Sour Chicken. For those who may remember, this used to be an old Denny's location. What a huge improvement! If there was one negative, I would say the staff could be a little quicker on the drink refills. read more

Started with a great first impression, a hot towel to wash my hands. Service was quick and cordial. My Spring Roll was hot and crispy with great vegetable crunch. Served with Chinese mustard and sweet sauce in syrup containers (great idea). They quickly brought out some hot chili sauce to spice things up. Went out with some friends last night who were craving some Chinese food. Being the only Chinese person in the group they asked where we should go. I wondered where non-Chinese people would want to have Chinese food and immediately thought of Ho Ping House. It didn't disappoint. The wait time was short and the food came out quickly. We ordered a lot but every dish was so tasty, hot, and flavourful that the food disappeared very quickly. I was surprised at the prices though. They seem to haven't gone up quite a lot since coming here last a few years ago. read more

I'm always iffy on Chinese places I've never heard of, but the Yelp reviews put me at ease. I loved everything we had. We started with hot tea, and Crab Rangoon. It was probably the hottest (temperature) crab rangoon I had ever had, which meant they weren't sitting under a heat lamp waiting for us to order them. I ordered the Empress Chicken, which wasn't heavy in terms of coating, the sauce was light and the veggies were crispy. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because one of the people in our party thought the vegetables in her entree were 'cold', but I'm guessing it was because they weren't overcooked and soggy. The other thing I couldn't help but notice was how quick the servers were on a Saturday night. And also, for a Saturday night, their bathrooms were very clean! read more

The entrée came 95 minutes from the time we sat down...well over an hour from being ordered....and then, only after we threatened to walk out (should have too). I've been to Ho Ping Garden in Niles and I loved it! So, I thought this place would be somewhat decent, but that was not case. The food came out really fast, we started with terriaki beef. It wasn't good, it was chewy and didn't taste like terriaki. The main course came out and I had the lemon chicken lunch special and it was soggy. The duck sauce didn't have a taste either. I would recommend driving a little further and just going to Ho Ping Garden in Niles, MI. read more

Just passing through and decided to give it a chance! My partner and I got their special dinner for two. It was great and a good value. The kind of Chinese food that makes you remember why you liked Chinese food before you started getting it delivered all the time. My only concern was that our waiter/waitresses kept changing and it got a bit confusing. Also one of our waiters was obviously being trained and this involved a little more "coaching" and nervousness than I like at dinner. I am we'll aware people need to be trained, but this was a bit much. Frankly- had the trainee been on his own I think he would have handled it fine, but he disappeared. (????) read more

We love this place! After Great Wall was torn down we were wondering where we would get good Chinese food now, but were thrilled when Ho Ping opened up across the street from the old Great Wall. We have never had a bad meal there. I love their egg rolls. I always get the chicken with cashews and it has always been very good. We have not found any Chinese food in South Bend that anywhere compares to their flavor and quality. The staff is attentive and friendly. We mostly get take out and it is ready in about 15 minutes. The atmosphere is calm and quiet. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

A full parking lot on Monday night is always a promising sign, and I was not disappointed. Excellent Chinese comfort food. I was tired and just wanted something simple so I had the hot and sour soup and fried rice with pork and shrimp. The soup was rich and flavorful, thicker than hot and sour usually is. The fried rice was cooked perfectly and seasoned exactly right. Service was prompt and courteous. Overall a very good experience and one I will repeat next time I am in South Bend! read more

I have been to this establishment serveral times in the past. I now know why the parking lot was almost empty. The food served to my family was spoiled and not what I ordered. I spit it back in the plate. Cavet empter to ALL. They also did not honor a coupon I had printed from the computor. My wife is from Hong Kong and could not believe the change in this place. I will never eat there again and I will notify the health dept concerning selling spoiled food. BEWARE. BEWARE. It is now the worst Chinese restaurant in this area. read more
