Upon arrival, show ID, provide insurance information, fill out intake paperwork, and wait for your name. Pretty standard. Inside was clean and welcoming with a big screen tv for those who are accompanying the patients. One thing to note is that if patients want to grab a cd there is a $10 charge per cd. Just fill out appropriate papers, sign some Hippa releases and the CD with imaging will be printed and the report printed for you separately after the radiologist has seen the images and made the report. Reports usually take about a week to be ready. My advice: wait out the report, come back and pay the $10 to have everything done and printed at the same time. Hot tip 2: parking is free, easy, and super accessible. The location of CVI is first floor and depending on where you park, right smack in the front of the building if parking from Los Altos/Plaza side.

I can honestly say I have rarely encountered someone as hostile and unprofessional as Derrick the tech at Crown Valley Imaging in Mission Viejo. When I arrived, I began removing my jacket, watch, and jewelry simply to be cooperative. Derrick immediately became confrontational and started raising his voice, saying, "I already told you that you don't need to take off your watch and ring." This was not someone being direct or having a bad day. His tone, body language, and overall demeanor were aggressive enough that the interaction felt genuinely and completely inappropriate for a healthcare setting. I walked in calm, respectful, and friendly as I always do and was treated with open hostility from the start. Patients should never be spoken to or treated this way. Professionalism and basic respect cost nothing. Update: Upon the unbelievable interaction with the tech on Friday, I spoke with Shari the patient coordinator at Crown Valley Imaging and ask for a copy of my report once it became available and it arrived today Monday. I am upgrading my overall rating of 1 to a 3 and giving Shari 5 star rating for being really kind and professional and getting to me what she had promised. That's when I decided to call Opensided MRI, and I'm extremely happy that I did. From the very first call, the experience was completely different. I was able to speak with someone right away (not an outsourced call center), and they were knowledgeable, helpful, and able to answer all of my questions immediately. They also took the time to gather my doctor's orders and insurance information during that initial conversation, which made the process feel smooth and efficient. Within just a few days, my insurance was approved, and my appointment was scheduled; something that had taken months elsewhere without success. When I arrived, the facility itself was easy to find, smaller in size, and had a comfortable, welcoming feel. It was clear that patient experience is a priority. The MRI operator was excellent, very personable, patient, and willing to walk me through every step of the process while answering all of my questions. This excellent experience begins with, unlike other imaging facilities, a friendly, experienced professional Kathy assisting you in every way possible to EASILY (keyword) schedule the appointment. No problems with insurance authorization (she called ME as soon as she received it from the insurance company!), and scheduling the appointment is simple and soon! Arriving for the MRI, you are well taken care of, they run on time, Imaging Staff is polite and very competent. The actual experience is without stress! And when you leave, Kathy hands you your DVD of images and within just a few days, your provider has the report, and so do I. The report is very clear and detailed. I have had 2 MRIs here, 10 years apart, and their ease of the patient obtaining a clear thorough MRI to help your physician diagnose you is consistent. (I have had another MRI elsewhere that left me hesitant about ever having another MRI. This was a relief, and restored my confidence that MRIs are easy and accurate. You have to check in half…read morean hour before your appointment - which I guess ensures that people show up on time, but means you'll be sitting around waiting for a while, especially if you've already checked in online. Thank goodness for smartphones. I have never had an MRI before, but Leo the technician was very friendly and made the experience easier. I was worried that I might feel claustrophobic, but the machine was open at the end, so you could see the rest of the room. Results were available through the portal a few days later. The reason why I didn't give Hoag five stars is that the MRI was done in a trailer, next to the building. It felt kind of amateurish for a highly ranked hospital like Hoag.

For here, if you need a straightforward MRI machine and you can do a closed one then this is your place . It's a good location if you want to do something quick. Easy , free parking. I watched a steady stream of patients get up to ask the front desk how much longer it would be. The answer was the same every time: we don't know. Sit down. Wait. When I was finally called up, it was not to be seen. It was to be told they don't accept my insurance. The exact insurance we provided when we booked. The exact insurance they confirmed when they took the appointment. An hour of my life burned because nobody at this office bothered to verify a single line of information before I drove in and sat down. The woman behind me in line had been waiting two hours past her appointment. Still not seen. The receptionist was lovely. That is not the issue. The issue is that this entire operation has decided patients are a captive audience. That our time has no value. That "we don't know" is a complete sentence. That confirmed appointments are suggestions and posted appointment times are decorative. Hospitals and imaging centers seem to think they get to behave like the DMV. They do not. There are other providers. There are other systems. And I will be using them. Run your front office. Verify insurance before the appointment, not after. Communicate with the people sitting in your lobby. Treat the appointment time as a commitment, not a placeholder. Until then, save people the trip. However, the doctor kept pushing me I ended up crying in the doctors office because of how pushy he was. Literally forcing unnecessary pressure on a young patient who vocalized multiple times did not want a mammogram but the doctor said he would not write me a diagnosis if I didn't. I was able to take time to go with him to one of his radiation appointments, along with my sister, and we were treated like old friends and given a pretty awesome lesson on what's happening and all the ins and outs of his treatment sessions. I learned a lot in the fast 15 minutes it took from beginning to end. Everyone we came in contact with was super pleasant and smiling. I knew my dad was in good hands when he told me, but to see for myself that he was 100% right was priceless. (he's usually 100% right though, but you know.....) While waiting for your appointment, they have coffee, water, snacks, donuts, pastries, candies and such for you to sample if you please. From the first appointment on, my father was called by his name. As we sat for a few minutes, when we were with him, we heard them do the same with each and every patient that walked through the door. Even the patients get to know each other! We will all be glad when my dad doesn't have to go to the Imaging Center any more, but we are just as grateful that while he was going through treatment that he was treated like the wonderful person that we know him to be. If you check Google for what an MRI should cost in OC it is $1,500 to $3,000. KSK came down some and my insurance took care of the rest while I was out in the cold for $4,200! I tried to work it out with them between my insurance company and KSK but they turned it over to a collection agency. NEVER EVER USE THIS FACILITY!
