If I could give negative stars I would. The worst office. The front desk is definitely not accommodating. There is no empathy for moms with kids. We are talking about babies here. They are the worst. I've seen several doctors in this office due to both of my kids being... kids. And they are all not helpful. Very basic answers and treatments. They do not want to help.. if there is anything other than wellness checks.. they refer you out to urgent cares or speciality office that takes weeks to book. Do NOT bring your kids here. read more

This review is a long time coming. I have continued going the last few years because I believe the doctors are knowledgeable. The front office staff and medical assistants are great. It is convenient to my house and having MyChart/EPIC is very useful. Why two stars? Well the extra star is not for them. They treat my children very well but they are rude, judgmental, and condescending towards the parents. They are less rude if my husband is with me. I guess they realize they can't fully act out on their crap behavior. I have ignored it for long enough. I have confidence in my parenting skills so people like that don't usually bother me as a one-off but I just don't have the patience anymore. I am worried one day I am going to snap back at them verbally and, more importantly, my child should not see rude doctors as normal or that I have allowed myself to be annoyed to that point. We are not ridiculous paranoid or basic parents that are anti-vax, don't believe in science, want our kids to do fad diets, or are concerned about them getting hurt trying spicy "ethnic" food. I think they are just jaded, pumped up by their pedigrees, and burnt out. They need to remember that I am still a customer and not some naïve ignorant gleefully there to be denigrated. The doctors I have seen are Palmisano and Field. Not sure why Palmisano is so popular, her manner with me is dismissive and distrusting. I bought into the reviews and was so disappointed. It's so fake bubbly. They could very well be a villainous duo in a kids movie. Field seems like she's about to have a breakdown at any point. Especially later in the day, watch out. She's even criticized a previous set of parents to me. I don't even talk much, just the facts because I want to keep my interaction with them to a minimum while remaining pleasant. I've had Dr. Field slam her pen on the table at me because of her own will, she decided she needed to write down a treatment for my child. Guess she was mad she had to write? I didn't ask her to. All I did was ask about high level treatment options for a common condition that my child has. She's also judged me for not changing a lightly wet diaper or baby having a rash. Babies sometimes get rashes (diaper cream was visible on her body as I treat it immediately). I was intentionally waiting for the exam to change a diaper since it has to come off anyway. Of course they get wet. Babies pee frequently. I pointed to the clean diaper and wipes I set up next to my child ready to go and she didn't reply. I also got one of her looks for not wanting to send my kid to private school. Dr. Palmisano has waived me into silence and another time told my child to disregard my instructions about putting a Kindle away. She will also cut you off when she's done listening and the content holds no value. Again, I don't talk much and I'm easy-going so I don't get what is wrong with her. I am not the high-maintenance, 1000x questions type who needs to "speak to the manager" or send food back. It's a doctors appointment. Most recently, I had some concerns that I thought might be too sensitive to discuss in front of a young child and she starts asking questions about it. I couldn't answer fully, being by myself, so she didn't believe me and then ignored the issue. No follow-up. At the same appointment, I referenced a previous event and she snaps that she read the chart. Well, as a parent and patient, especially these days, taking 5 seconds to bring something up as a segue into a concern should not be shot down. It was akin to me saying to a doctor I had not seen in years, oh I had x happen last year which leads me to bring up y... but before you can explain y, you get snapped at. I mean, I don't know what to say. Perhaps they need to not work for Hoag or find another profession. Again, this has been happening for years. It is not COVID stress. I am close to this industry so I have a huge amount of compassion for first responders, essential workers, etc. Given the sample size of visits and interactions with these two, plus a witness to confirm, it's not us, it's them. read more

Dr. Palmisano is so funny and down to earth. She's really an amazing pediatrician . She puts my mind at ease when anything is going on with my boys , and doesn't rush the appointment. She makes me feel like anything I'm Concerned about can be discussed , and we can come up with solutions and do problem solving over certain issues to get to the bottom of what's going on with my kiddos ( my son has digestive issues). You can 100% tell that she's a mother herself . She always manages to bring humor into the equation when my kiddos are acting up at the doctors office and is very understanding . I am sooo happy that we found her and I tell everyone how much I love my kiddos' pediatrician. read more

Ugh. Dr. Yasrebi was so rude to me and my family that I couldn't change doctors quick enough! She kept insinuating that I didn't care about my daughter and that I wasn't taking her health seriously. Anyway, I found a new AMAZING pediatrician at a different Hoag location and I've been seeing the new doctor for two years now. I will NEVER EVER EVER come back here! And Dr. Yasrebi, if you are reading this, just because someone is a young parent, doesn't make them incompetent. I care about my daughters health more than anyone! You need to think before bad mouthing your patients parents and questioning their concern for their own baby. Not all people have money to ride in the ambulance to the hospital. That's why I asked if we could drive her there. Not because I didn't care about her health! Ugh. I understand why other yelpers are leaving negative feedbacks. I'm not here to defend him in any way. I'm just posting my opinions here too. We've been with Dr. Blumberg for 4 years now. At first I also felt the same way that he rushes visits and doesn't answer questions well. I felt intimated every time I went into his office. I also wanted to switch ..... until my baby got sick. Dr. Blumberg diagnosed my child perfectly each time. He always tells me what he thinks is going to happen and like clockwork, that's what happened. He takes his time giving detailed instructions on what I should do to make my baby better. I'm the type that goes online, googles info, and like to gain some knowledge prior to doctor's visits. Well let's just say there's a reason why I'm not the doctor. Dr. B is always right, wish he could be wrong just ONE time, so I can say he is wrong ... but that hasn't happened yet. At this point, I hope that NEVER happens. After couple years, I don't bother googling anymore, I just ask Dr. Blumberg. I'm onto baby #2 and Dr. Blumberg came to visit me at Hoag. Literally it was 2 hours right after I gave birth. It's nice to see a trusted familiar face at the hospital. He immediately said hi to my first kid and congratulated her on being a big sister. Then he examined my newborn. He was very upbeat, positive, and friendly. Considering I was very exhausted from labor he took his time and waited for me to ask all my questions. He had to repeat a few answers too because I couldn't absorb all the info at once. I also like how he broke the instructions and suggestions into smaller bits so I can process the information better. I've been to other pediatricians, like the ones at Urgikids and other pediatricians offices when Dr. Blumberg is out sick. I have to say no one has as much knowledge as Dr. Blumberg. The other pediatricians are nice and friendly but advice & diagnoses wise, Dr. Blumberg is king. I also like his referrals to specialists. They have been excellent. The nurses in his office are top-notch as well! As for his office staff, I love being able to make a phone call and speak with a LIVE person and not one of those recorded messages. As a new mom I panic whenever my infant gets sick. It's nice to be able to speak to a person and not a machine over the phone, or push 1 for this, or 2 for that, etc. I know with just a few rings, a person will answer the phone, and whoever answers the phone at Dr. Blumberg's office will understand my concerns and urgency and give me advise and if needed, allow me to rush my baby in to the Blumberg's office. That's just my experience. As for my 4 year old, she LOVES Dr. Blumberg and is suspicious of other doctors. She actually looks forward to visits with him because she believes "Dr. Blumberg is funny and he will check me and make me feel better". That's what she says. read more

We've been with Dr. Blumberg for the last 16 years. We started June of '97 with our oldest son at his previous practice. We followed him and now all 3 of our boys are patients. I have always liked Dr. Blumberg's approach to treating the boys, very honest and straight forward. I like the fact he only prescribes medicine when it's absolutely necessary. My boys love to visit Dr. Blumberg and his staff. Dr. B always spends time talking to the boys during their appointments. I love this practice being private because I know my boys will be seen by their doctor, and my calls are answered and returned immediately by his awesome staff. Dr. Blumberg is excellent at what he does and gets it right every time. The only complaint I can give is sometimes there's a wait, but it's only because he tries to get everyone in. Kids get sick and need to see their doctor, he understands that and will stay late to accommodate. Dr. B also gives great referrals. Because of him I have the best gynecologist, primary care physician, dermatologist, allergist etc. read more

CROOKS!! STAY AWAY! The "Doctor" Marissa spent about 2 minutes with me before telling me she couldn't do anything for me. I walked in with a sore throat coughing and coming off of a fever and the "Doctor" Marissa looked in my ears and throat and said there was nothing she could do. MY EARS AND MOUTH. My mom who is a retired nurse could do a better checkup than that. She didn't give me anything to help with the coughing, nothing for the fact that I cant swallow. NOTHING. You people should be ashamed to call yourselves a part of the medical community. They don't care about you. They just want your money. read more

Another great Hoag facility. The office is new, the staff is friendly and I really like my doctor. Attached to this office is an Urgent Care and they top are very nice. My wife and kids were all born at Hoag in Newport Beach and my wife recently beat cancer with the help from Hoag. My wife, daughter and I love Nurse Rosa and Dr. Palmisano! We were initially referred to see another doctor at Memorial Care down the street, but felt much better after meeting the staff here at Hoag. The facility is fairly new, and I love that there's a separate waiting room for kids that are not sick and kids that aren't feeling well. Rosa is always great to work with, and very good with the kid, and Dr. Palmisano always addresses our questions about anything with the kid, and will honestly tell us when she doesn't know the answer. Just took my daughter here, and I love Dr. Palmisano!! She spent about 30 minutes with us explaining our daughter's eczema condition and treatment. In the past at other doctors I've felt like you wait for an hour to see the Dr and then they rush you out the door but I have never felt that way with Dr Palmisano. Dr. Omid is an excellent pediatrician! I met with 2 other pediatricians before meeting her and her friendly personality and extensive knowledge base made her the perfect choice. With the birth of our first son, we had a lot of questions as new parents and she even offered her cell phone number so I could contact her after hours with any questions. She even took the time to talk with me after hours while she was away at a medical conference. She remembers our family and I always look forward to my visits with her because she is always so informative and helpful. The experience with Dr. Blumberg did not live up to his credentials. After taking our family to him the first time, we had our reservations. After the second visit we immediately knew we had chosen the wrong pediatrician. -He is not a very good listener. -Horrible at taking notes. -Does not like it when you ask him questions. -Really does not like it when you start your questions with I heard, I read, or someone told me etc. -He gets annoyed if he finds out that you use the Internet or books for information on how to care for your family. -Makes you feel like you're walking on egg shells around him. He is very irritable. Dr. Blumberg's attitude is jaded. He's been doing this job way too long. If you decide to try him out you will recognize all these issues after a couple visits. read more

With little to no wait time it makes coming to the doctor such a pleasant experience. Dr palmissano is AMAZING. my husband is an anesthesiologist and I am a pediatric ICU nurse and you would think we would not fall into the same anxieties of new parents given our medical knowledge and training, but unfortunately when it's your own child all logic goes out the window. We have brought in our son several times (sometimes valid and sometimes just being a new mom and overreacting) but dr palmissano goes above and beyond for her patients and their parents. I'm happy we chose to go with Hoag Pediatrics Medical Group. Not only is the location great for us, the hours and urgent care availability are great too. I have been taking my infant daughter, who is now a toddler, to Dr. Julie Omid at HMG. She is absolutely wonderful, caring, communicative and down to earth. Her staff is friendly and warm. I really like Valerie, the medical assistant who is there to take all the measurements and give the vaccines. Also, the front lobby has a creative jungle mural and flat screen TV playing cartoon movies. The location is easy to get to and parking is ample. Dr. Palmisano is such an amazing physician! She's absolutely great with my 3 year old daughter and my daughter loves coming to see her! My daughter is always able to be accommodated onto Dr Palmisano's schedule. She is always so thorough and efficient during the appointments. She makes the appointment fun and we always feel comfortable. Dr. P is very knowledgeable and explains my daughter medical care so I am able to understand. Love our new pediatrician Julie Palmisano. We have recently moved from Marina Del Rey area and i needed to find a pediatrician quick for my 2 year old daughter and 7 month old son. After reading some great reviews about Dr Palmisano I decided to give it a try and Dr Palmisano have met all of my expectations and more. I work in medical field myself and I can be very demanding when it comes to medical and dental care of my family. After seeing Dr Palmisano several times I have no more doubt that I want her to be pediatrician for our children. She is very professional knowledgeable extremely friendly very good with kids and never once she made me feel that she is in the rush to see other patients. I will recommend her to everyone. We love Dr. B. I agree with so many reviews on here. My child has been with him since birth, 14 months ago. Dr. Blumberg always seems delighted to see her, and happy to answer any of my crazy first time mom questions. I've never felt talked down to, and have always left feeling at ease. I love that if my toddler is having an issue and I call she's always seen on the same day, even if the issue seems small. Felice and the rest of his staff are equally amazing. As far as the poor reviews, he may not be the warm and fuzzy hand holding type, but I'm under no illusion that my child is the most wonderful thing to grace this planet since it's creation and don't feel the need to have my child's doctor treat us that way. What matters to me is the correct diagnosis of my child and Dr. Blumberg has the expertise and knowledge for that. In addition, we too have asked for vaccines to be separated and given over time, and Dr. Blumberg had no issues with the request. read more

We've been seeing Dr. Blumberg since my oldest son was born ten years ago. I honestly can't imagine taking my boys anywhere else. He relates so well to my kids and to me, the worried mom. Dr. Blumberg is completely spot-on with every diagnosis; and he communicates very clearly what needs to be done to treat the illness, non-illness, or whatever it might be. I like the fact that he's conservative with prescribing medication. I also like the fact that he remembers how much my boys love Star Wars and brings up the topic at every visit. Dr. Blumberg, Felice, and the rest of the staff genuinely care about my kids' well-being, and that means everything to me. read more

I've been taking my 5 year old daughter to Dr B, since her birth. He has been amazing from the beginning. He is very to the point and on top of it. I agree with Sarah, his experience and attention to detail is amazing. I've never had a problem getting in the office whenmy daughter is sick and the staff is freindly and amazing. I wouldn't trade Dr B for anything. My daughter loves hime and doesn't even mind going to the Dr, which is a blessing. Hes been gentle, caring and professional.
