I've been seeing Dr. Amina for my two girls (ages 2 and 4) for 6 months now, and my experience has been very positive so far. As in any doctor's office, there is sometimes a 20-30 minute wait, but seeing her is worth it. I'd say that 4 times out of 5, she's been able to take us for a same-day appointment. She is gentle and takes her time with each child. Dr. Amina is knowledgable with homeopathic medicine as well as Western medicine, and I appreciate that she tries natural remedies first before going the route of medication or antibiotics (which has worked each time!). She's also considerate of how many factors can affect my child when she's sick. For instance, she guessed that my daughter may have asthma when I brought her in for a lingering post-cold cough (her father has asthma, which I hadn't mentioned!). Her staff is friendly, and my girls love the colorful play waiting room, kid-appropriate TV programs playing in the background, child-friendly bathroom, and the cute themed exam rooms. The girls leave with Disney stickers (makes them smile!). And there hasn't been any tears yet. So thankful that such an accessible, caring and skilled pediatrician is only 12 minutes from our home! read more

I took my daughter Lillian to get her shots for school and made her sore longer than she should be and left the syringes overflowing from the sharps container and held her down when she never had that before and poked her too many times (unnecessary) pokes by the ways I ended up doing it for her after the fact they did that and she was bleeding from a few unprofessional needles I gave her her shots instead and deliberately delayed her shots because she was so sore from the shots but they did do everything else right but the vaccines pretty good but traumatized her by holding her down and even asked me to hold her down and said that she was squirming a lot which she was but it was because they just came in with the shots and held her down they pushed the syringe in hard into her arm and didn't care at all and made her cry a lot and she even said it was very painful not pleasant read more

I normally dont do reviews, but this is the 2nd time I've had unprofessional service when I desperately needed proper and timely care for my kids. The first time I sat in the waiting room an hour and a half after my scheduled appointment to be seen just for the dr to brush off every concern. The whole visit took over 2 hours and there was only 1 other patient. The 2nd time was 3 weeks later and I showed up 10 min early for a 10am appointment. The receptionist took vitals and the dr wasn't even in the building. We sat in the waiting room for over 40 min before deciding to leave. The dr drove past me as I was leaving the parking lot lot. Apparently coming in late is becoming a normal practice for this dr. Beware this is not a medical group. This is one individual dr that runs this office. If she's not there on time youre waiting for her. I see she used to get great reviews, but maybe time has taken its tole and the quality isn't there anymore. read more

This is a long and overdue post. I brought my boys here when they were very 2-3 years old. The doctor was great, but her two assistants at the front desk made me want to keep coming back. The girls were so kind and thoughtful. They engaged with my kids. We moved and I called a few times requesting vaccine records and everytime I mention their names they still remember them and ask how they are doing. To me that is beyond special. If you're looking for a doctor and staff who truly care about your children this place is it. My boys are now 10 and 11 and I still remember this place fondly. read more

Her and her team are so responsive whenever you call or email regarding questions or things you maybe worries about when it comes to your child. We have been going to Dr. Amina for my son's care for several years now. She and her staff are top notch. I never feel rushed in the office and Dr. Amina is always looking for the very best option for my son's treatment. She gave him his COVID vaccine as soon as it came out, which gives me some comfort since he has a heart condition. She is also providing booster shots to parents as well. I cannot express enough how wonderful Dr Amina is. She takes her time, is thorough, understanding, compassionate, caring, empathetic, EVERYTHING you would want in an ideal pediatrician. We had to move away from the area and we still drive an hour out of our way to see her. She made an after hour call to help me with my son and was on the phone with me for an hour after her office hours. She's literally a super woman pediatrician. On top of her western medicine training she is also doing a fellowship in homeopathic care. She's a gem. Be kind to her, she works so hard an diligent for our kiddos. I met Dr. Amina just recently, and I'm convinced that she is the pediatrician I've been hoping to find since I became a parent. I took my 2nd child (a newborn) to her for his 1mo checkup because we were having issues with insurance & our normal pediatrician refused to see him (over 30 days, so no longer covered under my plan, but CalOptima paperwork hadn't been processed, so he was covered under Medi-Cal only for the time being). I did some research on Dr. Amina before I scheduled - everything looked good. Her staff scheduled me for a few days out with no problems. Dr. Amina was SO friendly, approachable and relaxed. She took her time with us and even asked my preference for homeopathic/traditional solutions for my son's colic (bear in mind, too, this is not my first child... I've dealt with this before... but she didn't assume that or treat me like this was something I should already know). I liked her staff, too. My one and only worry is that with her being the only Doctor in her practice, that if something were to come up we could have difficulty reaching someone... but she does have a cell phone listed on her card and assured me that she would get back to me within some hours if I needed her. I feel very comfortable and confident in her. I'm in the process of switching insurance around so that my older child will be seeing her as well. read more

I've been looking for a pediatrician for our two children and unborn child for a while now. There are very few in our area that accept medical/caloptima. Dr. Amina was referred to me by the PA at OC urgent care. I'm sooo glad he did! She is wonderful. Never felt rushed, she was very caring and thorough. We are on the same page regarding meds, how we shouldn't be pumping our kids with unnecessary antibiotics. I was able to get an appointment with her for the day after I called. The office is very kid friendly. Whether you have private insurance or Medi-Cal, you will be treated the same. That's what I like. There are so many people with unfortunate circumstances these days who live in our area and don't want to travel far to a clinic or doctor that does except Medi-Cal. I'm glad I found her and feel confident in her abilities. read more

I have been taking my foster children to see Dr. Amina for over a year now. The location is pretty convenient as it's relatively close to Target, restaurants, a movie theatre and other retail stores. The OC Pediatrics staff (Martha and Jessica) are quite nice and professional. They are always willing to do whatever is necessary to help (including keeping extra forms my organization needs for our youth files). Dr. Amina is very knowledgeable and gives wonderful advice in the rare case she can't see you when you call to make an appointment. She often sees my kids the same day I call and request an appointment. I usually don't have to wait more than one business day for an appointment even if I call last minute. Finally, Dr. Amina is extremely thorough. She makes sure to exam children head to toe (literally). This leads to being in the office for awhile, 1-2 hours from arrival to exit, but it's totally worth it. I couldn't imagine taking my kids anywhere else. read more

Jessica, the receptionist is RUDE!! I took my daughter to this office a couple years back (when my regular pediatrician was too busy to get us in). I called today because again my other pediatrician is too busy and I spoke to Jessica, the front office receptionist. First, she said my daughter is not in the system, but that was most likely because they got a new system and she wasn't in it yet. So, I gave her my insurance card, I had to email it because she was confused by the member ID#. So after I emailed it, she called me to tell me that I sent her the pharmacy # only. (my insurance card has the pharmacy on the back) So, I told her, look at the picture of the front of the card. She said "Oh! there it is! I cant read the customer service number, can you read it to me?" So I read it to her, she hangs up to call.... then I get another call from her. This time, she tells me, "we don't take your insurance" I tried to tell her we have PPO, which means we can go anywhere. She didn't understand me, (not sure if she didn't understand english well or not? trying to give her the benefit of the doubt here?) and then, she said, "Yeah, we don't take that insurance, BYE!" and SHE FLIPPING HUNG UP ON ME!! Love the doctor here. She is very detailed and friendly. Her office is really nice and has a nice interior.

What a great place. The Dr. is so nice, she really takes the time to take care of your child and answer all your questions, she doesn't rush or make you feel like another number on her list and hurry to get to the next patient.
