I'm very sad that I can only give it five stars here at most, because I think Dr.Lee deserves a ten-star rating. Even more and perfect. Let me just say this firstly: I guarantee with my own integrity that you will not find a better doctor in this area! Without comparison to other doctors, you might never know how good he is. My daughter has been seeing a Chinese-speaking doctor because of my mother's language barrier, but my son has been seeing Dr. Lee all the time! I'd always had a very good impression of him with my son because he always came to see us very quickly whenever I went to his clinic. First, the waiting time was very short, and second, he was incredibly patient. He answered all my questions very seriously and wasn't in a hurry to leave. I often asked really silly questions, but he always answered them patiently! Believe me, if it were any other doctor, they would have left long ago! Everyone's time is precious. If you can find a doctor like Dr. Lee who is willing to explain any details to you, you must cherish that. His professionalism and knowledge are beyond question. He always manages to pinpoint the problem accurately. Just a very simple example: When my son had a stomachache, I took him to other doctors, and they recommended an X-ray. But Dr. Lee told me that many children have stomach aches due to constipation. I later discovered that every time he complained of stomach pain, he would ask to go to the toilet. Of course, there are many other examples like Dr. Lee,who is exceptionally gentle and attentive when administering vaccines. Compared to other doctors who can even apply bandages crookedly. He never over-treats, and he never creates anxiety for you. No other doctor can compare to him in this respect! As I mentioned, my daughter has been seeing a Chinese-speaking doctor, but recently she caught the flu. Yesterday, Friday, I called her doctor, who very indifferently and barely answered some questions. Today, my daughter has a fever, and because it's the weekend, I couldn't contact them at all to offer any help. I had no choice but to leave a message to Dr. Lee. I really didn't expect him to reply to both of my messages, the second one even at almost 10 pm without any paid! This isn't even within his job description. He could have easily refused to help me. But because of his kindness and his genuine concern for children's , he chose to help. He told me because my son is his patient so he likes to help our family. Of course, I need to immediately transfer my daughter to Dr. Lee's .There's no need to see any other doctor, even if it means communicating in English. I remember asking Dr. Lee before, "Why don't you accept insurance premiums?" Because he doesn't, many people would seek out doctors who do. He told me he didn't want to spend time arguing with insurance companies; he wanted to spend his time seeing and taking care of patients, that's exactly what he did. I'm glad he did that because if he took insurance, his clinic would probably be the busiest in the area. He only charges 100 for a consultation, unlike many places where it's 300. This proves that he genuinely wants what's the best for the children and helping children, not just making money. I realized long ago that my child was more important than $100. I preferred not to go through insurance because when you encounter crucial problems, you realize it was absolutely worth it. read more

Dr. Lee is simply AMAZING!!! My 2 year old is scared of doctors because all they do is give her her vaccines. So she was traumatized. Dr, Lee - and the nurses were just amazing. Dr Lee is amazing! My child had a temp of 104; I was unable to get my child into see her regular Pediatrician and decided that instead of taking her to the ER, as she was still acting normal but tired, to take her to Dr Lee. I'm so glad that I did. I have never encountered a more thorough Dr and/or examination for my kid. Based on the history and his thorough examination (BP was taken on my one year old!), he was spot on for the diagnosis and eased my mom worries away. He offers fast response to after hour questions and is very easy to talk with. He does not take insurance but honestly, you get what you pay for and Dr Lee is worth his fees. I recommend him to many other moms who are looking for a better pediatric experience and true care for their child and family. Dr. Lee has been our son's pediatrician since birth and has consistently been a great doctor on multiple levels. -Asks tons of questions to fully understand a situation and provide the best guidance - great with kids, our son is happy during visits! - very responsive which came in handy- seemed like all of our first baby issues happened over the weekend but it was no problem quickly hearing back. He also CALLED BACK a day later to check on our son. - overall rational approach - not one to rush to have our baby take medicine but will prescribe if needed. - proactive - as a newborn our son was tongue tied which caused breastfeeding issues, Dr Lee planned ahead to prep for the procedure to cut it during our visit which as a new mom trying to get breastfeeding handled was a life saver! We had a very negative office visit experience here. The clinic does not accept any insurances, so every visit/service is cash based, which is fine. However, we were surprised when the charge doubled at the conclusion of the visit (from $120 to $230). Before we brought our children in for school required physical exams, we specifically called and inquired about the charges for the exam. However, after the exam, the charge was $230 instead of $120. We asked Dr Lee directly about the difference and was told he had to do additional vision test and hearing test. It would have been okay if the additional charges were disclosed when making the appointment. When asked, Dr Lee responded, "I'd have told you if you asked before the tests." He then promptly ended the conversation by citing "I have a policy of not re-negotiate prices." But we are not re-negotiating, we are asking the clinic to honor the price it quoted. Aside from the bill surprise, the visit was uneventful; about the same as other doctor visits. read more

It took me awhile to write this review, but now that we've been with Dr. Lee for well over a year I feel like it's time to sing his praises. I interviewed pediatricians during my pregnancy with #2 because I wanted someone more local, and discovered Dr. Lee. His office was not established yet with the birth of my first, so I was surprised to find him! I vastly prefer private practices over group practices, so this was the initial draw for me. I requested an interview with him, and he was so kind and answered all my questions and random scenarios with so much patience and wisdom. I was further reassured by the fact that he has two young toddlers of his own, so he is up to date with the latest research! His office is really clean, the receptionist's always remember us, and I never have to wait too long (well, except once). He always takes the time to sit and listen to our concerns, and I never feel rushed by him. I've even called him after hours or on weekends when my kids have been sick, and he immediately picks up or returns our calls. He is so easy to get a hold of. Not only that, but he even CALLED BACK a couple days later to make sure we were doing well and that everything was fine! This review is long overdue... my son has been a patient of Dr. Andrew Lee's since he was about 12 weeks old. All the good things you hear about Dr. Lee are 100% accurate. Never have I met a doctor with the most wonderful bedside manners. As a pediatrician, he answers all the questions a first time parent would have, and knows to ask all the questions you might've not even thought about. Dr. Lee takes his time and his thorough in his delivery and never makes you feel rushed or that you're "just another patient" to see. My son, who is now two and half years old, has grown used to seeing Dr. Lee and is very comfortable with him. As a father to two little ones himself, he can relate to pretty much any and all issues and concerns related to your own little ones. Dr. Lee is such a breath of fresh air, in the age of churn them out medical practices all about making the quick buck, Dr. Lee takes TOO much time caring for his patients needs and our (parents) concerns. He has been my daughters (now eight month old) pediatrician since birth, and she was a CHOC NICU baby for eleven days so needless to say she wasn't your typical "healthy" nothing to worry about baby/case/patient. He not only remembers us every time we come in, he is well versed and familiar with our daughter/us and her case/history before our appointments, not like some doctors who sit there and read the file as they are sitting with you. Because of the emergency delivery - she had some complications her APGAR scores were low (she was intubated while connected to her umbilical cord - OF COURSE shes going to test low) - which meant she would be scheduled for developmental testing at six months - Dr. Lee called CHOC to find out the entire case history of her scores to better understand the situation and to better communicate his recommendations on if we should move forward with keeping that appointment or cancelling - she didn't need the appointment so we all decided it was fine to cancel it. Dr. Lee is still relatively new to the area and his practice is new - which is great since we are all going to grow old together! His office is brand new and CLEAN, his front and back office staff are sweet (we forgot our daughters hair clip in the exam room and they saved it for us - even let us know about it and planned on mailing it back to us, i told them we were coming in anyways so we would pick it up). WHY would any office hire unfriendly curt staff for a pediatricians office is beyond me, and WHY we parents will put up with it is a whole different issue, but Dr Less reminds me of my pediatrician back in Berwyn, PA - he will be part of our daughters (our) lives for a long time to come..... While i selfishly dont want him to get too busy - i feel obligated to let other OC parents know about such a wonderful, smart, caring, down to earth and personable pediatrician. There is always a draw back, right? His? He is VERY detailed and he will explain everything in detail, but being such a type A personality i appreciate the details and ALL the information (he can be quite long winded). He doesn't glaze through it as if we non medical professionals wouldn't understand, very mild mannered soft man. Practicing for a few years but under the age of 40. (i really wanted my daughter to have this pediatrician her entire life - until she went off to college) 4. FEMALE - we were having a daughter i thought as she grew older shed feel more at ease with a female doctor. 5. Proximity to our home/work/daycare - which is all within a 3 MI radius anyways 6. Friendly front and back office staff 7. reasonable wait times (I HATE offices that do not honor and plan appointments well) IE: OVERBOOK and allow 10-15 mins IF THAT time for each patient etc 8. Clean waiting area - sick and non sick designated area (eh just keep your child with you at all times and dont worry about it) 9. accepts our insurance and has privileges to Hoag NPB (she ended up having to go to CHOC, so i had to deliver at St Jo's) I definitely did my research and well while you can plan for everything sometimes what you dont plan for ends up being the best blessing. I love Dr. Lee. He is an excellent doctor. You may be wondering why I don't give 5 star review. If I made this review 1 year ago it would have definitely been 5 stars. Recently they have changed to being out of Network meaning reimbursement for visits is no longer possible. My family my have to consider changing doctors and we really don't want to. They are trying to ease burdens by giving information for alternative physicians for expensive vaccines, but it is inconvenient to have multiple appointments. Dr. Lee has recently switched to the way several doctors in Irvine and Newport Beach area are doing insurance ... basically he no longer accepts them. If you're a PPO, that means he's officially considered Out of Network. If you're HMO, then you have to pay it all out of pocket. This may be a shock for some who are used to coverage, but this is the way things are going. It happened to me when I was 7 months pregnant and they did the switch-a-roo for my OB/GYN. Now THAT was messy. But that's an industry issue, not a doctor issue. I've been fortunate and my PPO still covers a portion of the Out of Network expenses, it's pricey but you get what you pay for. It's nice to be able to contact him after hours and get quality care and medical advice. The front office is responsive to my requests for Superbills to receive reimbursement from my PPO insurance. Scheduling appointments has become super easy and the wait time in the office has significantly DROPPED due to everyone switching out due to the new insurance change. Dr. Lee also gives his full attention and answers all questions without rushing you through an appointment. He used to that too before the switch but the wait time in the office was crazy long because of it. His medical equipment is state of the art and top notch. I know I'm paying quite a bit for 2 kids to have him as a pediatrician but as long as I have PPO (or win the lottery), he's my doctor of choice. read more

We recently switched to Dr. Lee as our kids' primary pediatrician. When we got to the office (which is decorated super cute) we were greeted by the front office receptionist who got us checked in promptly. Within minutes we were called back by their nurse. She was friendly and professional and made the kids feel very comfortable. When Dr. Lee stepped in, he was great with the kids. Just wanted to update my review - a year later! We still go to see Dr. Lee and we still love him! I know Dr. Lee's practice has grown a lot over the last year and he is now super busy, but he still remember us and my son, which I very much appreciate. It's nice to know that he still takes the time to know his patients on a personal level despite his amazing success! Although my son is scared of him now (associates him with shots/vaccines), Dr. Lee still tries to play and get on my son's good side every time we go see him. Whenever my son is sick, I can call and leave a message/question and the Dr ALWAYS calls me back within 12-24 hours!! It's amazing and soooo good to know he is so reliable. Otherwise, if it's something more serious, I have never had an issue getting a last minute appointment to have the Dr see my son. We are so happy, grateful and blessed to have found Dr. Lee. He is the best pediatrician we've ever seen - he actually cares and spends time with us - it's been like this from the very beginning (when we were pregnant, doing interviews). When my daughter was only three weeks old, he came into the office just to see her (he was supposed to be traveling but the flight/trip got cancelled). Dr Lee is very caring toward his patients and we started seeing Dr Lee when our "original" pediatrician was out of town for weeks and he referred us to his practice. We switched to Dr Lee ( our previous one, Dr Michael Yu at NB is good too, but Dr Lee is only 5 minutes away from our house and with the same quality and top notch care, we did not hesitate at all). Dr Lee always take his time answering our questions, call and check on our kid and answering our call/email. I know now that he's opting out as out of network from all insurance but to be honest, I don't mind paying $100 upfront (the front desk helped us file a claim to our insurance, we might pay less, but not sure) but as long as our kid get immediate care/attention and a pediatrician that really care, still way cheaper than going to ER :) But again, $100 maybe too much for some (with the monthly premium that keep rising, I totally understand that some would object) and since our kid doesn't need monthly check up, vaccines every couple months or so, this additional cost has not effect us. read more

I haven't written a review in years, but use Yelp on a daily basis for great finds. Time for me to give back, and I'm so happy to start with a 5 STAR review of Superkids and Dr. Lee. What an amazing doctor's office, and thanks to Yelp (and his generous insurance acceptance), it is now ours. Dr. Lee runs a very professional establishment. His support staff is professional, on the ball, and very friendly. I was able to complete and submit my incoming paperwork online and e-mail it back (a huge plus for me since sitting in a waiting room filling out forms with 2 kids running around is just extra stress I don't need.) The facility is new and clean. My kids used the restroom while we were waiting and it was spotless and kid-friendly. Star, star, star! Meeting Dr. Lee was a pleasure. What a warm, caring, and intelligent professional. He sat down (no pediatrician we've ever seen in the last 7 years has actually SAT down - what a concept!) and really got into detail about my son's conditions, my concerns, and his perspectives. He included anecdotes about his kids, and waited patiently to answer all of my questions before he started his exam. He talked my hesitant 3yo through his entire exam, and it went flawlessly. I've never seen my little guy so comfortable on the doctor's exam table. Dr. Lee recommended the flu vaccine for my boys. (We were there for my 3yo's well visit, but he very graciously agreed to discuss my 7yo getting it as well. Even though he didn't have an appointment.) After much hesitation, I conceded and we gave them the nasal spray. Dr. Lee was very respectful about my hesitation and shared stories of his family getting it, so I felt comfortable in taking my time to make the decision. He didn't ridicule me or throw his medical expertise at me - he talked to me as a fellow parent. It was so refreshing. Later that night - at 3:30am to be exact...my little guy suffered what I thought was a reaction to the vaccine. He woke up upset, screaming that his "eyes hurt and he can't open them." Of course, I was very alarmed, and I tried to troubleshoot with cold compresses, advil, and motherly love. But that only went so far. His eyes were swollen, and sealed shut...so, I took Dr. Lee's website offer up on the first day we met him. I panicked and called Dr. Lee at 4:34 a.m.! He answered. I know I sound like a neurotic Mom, but I can assure you I am not. In the 7 years I've been a parent, I have never called the pediatrician in the middle of the night. (In fact, I'm a little too lax - my 3yo was getting his well-check at 3y 5 months. Calling was totally uncharacteristic of me, but with that quick of an onset in his eyes - I was scared. My Aunt went blind in her 20s, so my perspective may be skewed.) Long story long, he never once sounded annoyed or upset that I called. He talked me through some home remedies, and told me to come in first thing in the morning. By the time 8am rolled around, my son was improving, so I didn't want to take up any more of Dr. Lee's time. Even though I decided not to take him in, Dr. Lee left me a voicemail to check up on my son and discuss his course of care. What a professional. You just cannot go wrong adopting this office into your family. I'm hoping I don't have to visit them very often, but when I do, I know we will be in good hands. read more

We recently relocated to Irvine and had not found pediatrician yet. So when my daughter started complaining that she is not feeling well, I went online to look for a pedestrian. Dr.Lee had the best reviews, so I decided to give him a call. The receptionist informed me that they only make new patient appointment in 4 weeks and they can't take my child any earlier, because they need earlier appointments for their patients. Even after I repeated that we want to become 'their' patients, she said that she couldn't help me and I should just take my child to the urgent care. What pediatrician office would refuse care to a sick child??? Seems like they care more about their policies than about children. read more

We had a very bad experience with previous Pediatrics, so we had to find a better doctor. After a long research, We decided to give a try for Superkids Pediatrics. We were very satisfied after our 1st visit. Dr. Lee is very patient and caring. He always give my daughter proper treatment on time and efficiently. We had to take our son to CHOC when he had a very bad infection, and Dr. Lee called us to see how my son was doing when we were at emergency. He also contacted the doctor at CHOC to provide them all the information about previous treatments and make sure my son would get proper treatment. Dr. Lee is the best pediatric I have known.
