One of the few remaining hobby artsy/craft store. All their Connecticut stores are run, stocked and organized similiarly. The stores are all sized equally and choices are fair. They are the super center of artsy/craft. We find them to be more competative pricing than Michaels the alternative hobby store. Only draw back they lack staffing in every dept. right to the cashier.So if you don't mind the lack of service Hobby Lobby is a great choice. And as usual they have plenty of parking at all their locations. read more

I arrived a bit early for my car appointment, so I stopped over at Hobby Lobby to see what they have for some creative holiday projects. Once I stepped inside I realized I've only been to Hobby Lobby once before. This store has it all for anyone creative at heart. They have an entire isle of the cutest charms, if you're making a necklace or a bracelet. There's isles, of beads, that are already strung, and a separate isle of beads that are loose. They're all sorted by color. When I was around 12, I had a "job" to string a specific pattern of beads, for a lady who made them into chains for glasses. I made a small commission. Seeing so many beads brought back this memory. They have some really fun Christmas decor, from tiny Christmas trees, to large ones. There's a variety of decor for your home. There's isles of fabric, and isles of yarn, buttons, sequence and thread. Everything is here, for your creative hobby. It seems like everything is on sale 40-50% off. The quality of some items is really lacking, even those are on the same sale. This isn't a store I'm going to frequent regularly, but if I ever need sparkly purple thread, buttons and fabric to match, I'll know where to go. read more

Back then I was pretty active with stained glass as a hobby. But I remember what a freaking pain in the behind it was to find a business that sold the sheets of colored glass I needed to cut up into pieces and shapes. We drove all over the state to find a studio that sold glass for the hobbyist. So imagine my surprise today as we strolled through the aisles of Hobby Lobby's massive Bristol, CT store and lo and behold stumbled upon a display shelf filled from top to bottom with scores of glass sheets in every color of the rainbow. This may have been my first time in a Hobby Lobby and I was extremely impressed with everything I saw. The store really is gigantic and the variety of things they sell is incredible -home décor, toys and crafts, wall hangings, plants, flowers, kitchen and bathroom gizmos, and of course, hobby supplies. It really was an amazing place to visit. read more

If Joann's, Michael's, and Home Good's had to merge, the result would be Hobby Lobby. This store is huge, the Christmas display they had up in mid-November seemed to go on forever. I'm not sure why anyone may need a four foot poinsettia flower, but gosh-darn-it, now I want one. In regular items, they seem to have every craft covered - from paper, to stained glass, to yarn, to fabric, to flower arrangements. They are reasonably clean and organized, although in the "normal" part of the store it was hard to pinpoint from the front where different art supplies may be. Additional signage would have been appreciated. I did find it odd they didn't scan the UPC at check-out, and had a physical list to verify whether an item was on sale. I guess they clearly have a system that works for them, but it seems a little antiquated. There is also a STRONG Christian presence in their merchandise, which can easily be ignored, but it would be nice if there were additional religions represented. read more

This store is my "happy place" ! It's a crafters dream store with everything coordinated and easily found. They have good sales mostly 40 % pre-seasoned items and you can really rack up . They have color coordinated party supplies ,so if you want a all purple party scheme ,you got it ! They sell home decor that will make you want to buy every last piece. Not happy. Purchased Knitter's Pride knitting needle set from here. One broke and Knitter's Pride will only accept damaged product from a store. Hobby Lobby manager refused to exchange or work with company to get a replacement even after I produced a receipt. Manager actually walked me over to the knitting needles only to tell me she couldn't help me. If you have to buy knitter's Pride but at a local yarn shop that will accept broken needles. read more

I can't believe it took me so long to check this place out. They have a huge selection of fall and winter decor, and they literally have something for just about everyone in here. Lots of different themes going on, huge selection, and decent prices. My mom was able to find a 40% off coupon online too. We got some really cute decorations for our baby's bedroom wall and I think this will be my new go-to spot for any type of crafty stuff! read more

I have mixed feelings about this chain of stores and was torn between three and four stars for a few reasons. First the positives; 1. A great, wide selection of home decorations. You can find something for any age, gender or theme imaginable. 2. A crafter's paradise. If you need it, you will find it here. 3. Great sales. If you are patient you can get what you want for 50% off because things are on sale frequently. 4. Helpful salespeople. Whether it is someone in the aisles or at checkout, everyone has been super friendly, helpful, and fun to talk to. Now the negative: 1. Misleading signage/dishonesty. Signs in the clearance aisle say "66% or 90% off" in a large font. Below, in a slightly smaller font it says "off marked price", and below that in a very small font it says something about the price being on the yellow ticket. When a friend got up to the cashier expecting to pay 66% off the lowest marked price, the cashier stated the policy, adding "Its very confusing. Everyone misses that." If "everyone has difficulty with this, maybe the signage should be changed to be clearer. Since this seems to have been an issue for a while, it makes me think that HL wants customers to be mislead into purchasing an item for more than they think when at the register. Not a very Christian behavior for a store that prides itself on its Christianity. 2. Rude customer service people. When I emailed the corporation to question this, and suggest the signage be changed, I received a very rude, curt reply that inferred that if the customers make a mistake it is due to their unintelligence. 3. Does not offer teacher or military discounts. The whole "bait and switch" issue leaves a bad taste in my mouth and the reply I received reflects a double standard in their ethical beliefs but since it is a corporate issue rather than an issue only for this store I ultimately chose 4 stars over 3. read more

I love the selection Hobby Lobby has! Most of the store was 50% off, we got some great bargains, soo much to see..even my husband was impressed. Loved all the unique sized glass jars. The staff was very helpful, the manager showed me where I could find what I was looking for instead of pointing me in the general direction. We will definitely be back! read more

Located in a delapitated plaza that has the feel of needed to be buldozed, it is a great clean store! The Staff was super freindly and helpful. When we were there, a 50% sale was on for glassware which was what we were there for. We picked up a very nice bakers rack and we received an additional 10% off when I downloaded the hobby lobby app. I would recommend and go back no question. Great place! read more

There is a lot of inspiration in this huge, clean store. There is some level of organization to the aisles but due to the sheer number of products and a mystifying lack of a store directory or signage over each aisle to help with navigating where to find things I inevitably leave frustrated with the amount of time it took me to find what I needed. When I mentioned my frustration to the cashier on my way out last time, she said "that is what we are for," meaning the Personnel. But then quickly added -as I agreed with her -if you're lucky enough to find one. To their credit, I did end up asking someone who not only told me where the items were but took me there and pointed them out. I guess that's the strategy when you go to Hobby Lobby. read more

I used to love going here and walking around. They have a ton of stuff and it feels like the store is never ending but in a good way! I love the sales but wouldn't suggest buying anything unless it's on sale or you have the app coupon code because chances are it will be 50% off next week. BUT today changed my whole feeling about this location. Typically all the workers are kind and friendly and I've never had an issue personally but I overheard something today that was a huge turnoff. A mother of 3 young kids was trying to cash out and one kid started to cry because he couldn't have candy or something like that and the Mom was doing her best to calm him down and get out of there as fast as she could. When she walked out of the door I overheard a few of the workers talking crap about her, how many kids she had, and the whole situation. As a mother of young kids myself, it was discouraging to hear. The Mom was trying her best and nothing needed to be said when she walked out of the door. If anything they could have sympathized with her but that's not what they did. It's unprofessional anyways to talk about a customer, especially when other shoppers can hear you. It makes me think twice about bringing my kids there or even shopping there myself. read more
