I had never been to a painting event before coming here, but the idea of this event was too good to miss out on. When I came in, I was kindly greeted and instructed to go downstairs. The room was decorated with all sorts of anime and comic artwork/memorabilia with the TV playing the Mandalorian in the background. The instructor Heather was super encouraging and friendly and really made the experience enjoyable! The Aprons, paint, towels, and canvases were all provided. I come to this Michaels to look for several items for a craft. Not being familiar with this location, I did have a hard time finding my items and looking for someone to assist. One of the workers who came to my aid, not only help me locate the item but noted it was not the one on sale. After checking his scanner to find, that they had a new shipment come in. He then took a ladder to open all the boxes found all the way up on the highest shelves. Thank you so much and it was deeply appreciated.

Between the Mets and Knicks, I would think they could keep a decent supply of blue, orange and white beads on hand throughout the baseball and basketball seasons. We are in the NY market with plenty of fans here. Their prices are also on the high side and there's never anyone around to help. I went through the entire store talking to anyone ... even did self check out. I think there's some room for improvement here. I managed to buy some blue and white beads from their hanging necklace section and a small little vial of orange seed beads to get me through making these Knicks playoff and finals bracelets. I visited the studio frequently, as the employees took notice of my frequent visits and stated they would get the gnome ring tray again and to keep checking. When it finally came in, I purchased it because my husband could not find a piece that he wanted to paint that day. As we drew closer to Halloween, he finally found something to paint. The friendly employees gave us a big wheel bowl with examples of how to achieve different looks. To ensure a great, vibrant color, she instructed us to apply three coats of paint for maximum coverage. At each table, we were provided with water and a bucket of brushes. They also gave us a tray to pick out our colors. The tray consisted of three small, three medium, and one large main color for you to choose your colors. They will gladly provide more paint if needed. I knew I wanted a speckled hat for my gnome, but was disappointed they did not offer me a toothbrush to achieve the splatter look I was hoping for. My only real issue was the brushes. When painting, brushes are everything. The bristles easily came off and stuck to my ceramic piece. I had to carefully inspect my gnome and remove the fallen bristles to make sure they wouldn't be baked into the final product. Once we finished, we gave our pieces to the employees, who said it would take one to two weeks for them to be glazed. The studio also charges a $12 per person studio fee.

The cashier (in her 20s) had with zero social skills and barely spoke, no presence whatsoever. I asked for a 10 cent bag and waited to scan my card for a moment. She didn't let me know the machine loaded so I could scan my card that was in my hand and she slowly touched my hand and took the card out of my hand to tap is on the screen. No cashier should Ever touch you!!! I told her "why didn't you just tell me to tap my card? People don't like being touched by strangers or having their card grabbed out of there hand" while she just stared at me blankly with her mouth open no life behind her eyes. VERY weird interaction.

The store is clean and well organized. Staff is very friendly and asked several times if I needed any help. Prices are a lot more reasonable than Pier 1 but there are less furniture pieces. This store is outside next to Cheesecake Factory. Parking can be a pain in this lot.
