Very annoyed that I picked out an item that was on sale display, only to find out the item was used on the display as "decoration". The cashier asked two different people if my item was on sale, both said no. She then asked a third person whom said "They're on the sale display but just for decoration." Putting many items in a sale display where they fit into the list of what's on sale, simply for "decoration", is incredibly misleading. Everything is way overpriced for the low quality, and I would never buy an item at original price. I like this store- it's got a little of many things, and the employees seem friendly. I had to get a few odd school supplies for my son and was pleased I could find them here much more affordably than online. I was there last week grabbing some picture frames and while they have an amazing assortment of products that staff is not very helpful. Customer service should come first and foremost. Also every time I go there the lines move super slow. I think they need to improve their check out system. It is also very annoying that they are closed on Sunday. Why haven't I ever been here before?? If you are looking to decorate any corner of your home or outdoor space, please do yourself a favor and go to Hobby Lobby first. The store is huge and offers way more decorating ideas than you could ever imagine. You'll find a plethora of dried and silk florals with every height and shape vase/container available. You can build an arrangement yourself or buy one ready made. They also have fabric material for sewing projects. I don't sew, but I did notice the varieties of colors and patterns. Candles, artwork, baskets, side tables, I could go on and on. I spent an hour and a half here, I closed the place down! The cashier was so nice to offer me a 40% off coupon for the one item I was buying that wasn't on sale, he was so incredibly friendly too.. I can't wait to go back! Convenient location - located on the corner of ft Apache and Tropicana. I'm a regular here as I use this location to purchase a high amount of small glass jars for work purposes. Bought a tube of paint for a small art project but when I got home it was the wrong shade. The lighting in the store and my home are different thus not quite the right shade of aqua green. No problem, I went back to HL, bringing a pillow with me to match the exact color. Found the correct color; did the exchange, and went back home. I got all set up to paint the art project, opened the paint and it was hard as a rock. Yup, the paint was all dried out. Completely Unusable!!!! Doesn't HL have employees rotating and checking inventory so this doesn't happen. I've never had this problem with Aaron Brothers or Michaels. read more

First of all, I think I should warn you. Do NOT come in to this store if all you are wanting is to quickly pick up a couple spools of thread! (I mean that in the best way!!) This store is amazing, but it is incredibly hard to go in for one thing without leaving with a cart full of things you didn't know you can't live without!!! The store is gigantic. There are tons of displays and sections of items that give you a bunch of ideas for turning your house in to your home. Even if you aren't really in to sewing or crafting, you will still love this place. They have other things besides arts and crafts. They have furniture, pictures, mirrors, frames, candles, paintings, flowers, plants, knick-knacks, and much much much more! I always go in for their fabrics and sewing items. My grand children love to come with me to look at all of the fun craft things they have. It feels great to "treat" them with a project that we can do together! Sometimes the kids even ask when we are going to the "crafty store"! Home Goods has allowed me to have hours and hours of fun with my grand children that were born in the technology age. After we get home, they don't even look in the direction of the tv. We dump all of our great finds on the table and craft for hours! My only complaint is that I can never seem to find anyone when I need some help. Sometimes when I do find someone, they seem very inconvenienced by my questions. Also, their furniture seems to be a little overpriced to me. I know that is not something that this specific location can change, but I have found almost the same items for close to half the price. Those things are easily overlooked. I don't need help that often and I just stay away from the furniture department. If you are looking for something to do with your kids/grandkids on a rainy day or sick day, try taking a walk through Hobby Lobby! For crafts, sewing, and decorating, this place gets FIVE stars!! Checkout was a nite mare...was in line for five min with a number of us, when cashier said she was closing and had togoover to another till..and we were at the end of that line...so 10 minutes later she opened back up agin,but never took us back...took 20 min to get out... This store is right by my house & if it was any other company I will stop going! The assistant manager or manager is right by the check lanes just putting clearance tags on jewelry while the only 2 lines keeps getting longer & longer. She's just not paying attention. If I didn't come in here all the time I wouldn't know she is in management. Finally a new girl had to ask how to I get help. She tells her "Oh call Daria". At this point it was over 10 people in line. Daria comes right up & gets started but it isn't helping. Manager girl has her back to the situation again just tagging merch line a entry level person. The new girl needs help with a return she goes over & helps now she can see how many people are backed up & doesn't care. She finishes help & goes right back to marking down merch. This is at those little shelves on top of the checkout lines. Last week they are on the intercom every 2 minutes "the store is closing" There is ONLY one line open. Manager girl is only worry about getting the shopping carts in order & doesn't care that the ONLY line is backed up & NO ONE is leaving on time because she refuses to open another line! The previous person that had this job was so much better than her! She is KILLING the experience that this what used to be a great place to shop! read more

I've been here dozens of times since they opened and while most visits are frustrating and exhausting, this one takes the cake. The cashier (Tonya), seemed friendly enough until I noticed that she never added the discount on the phone coupon that I had placed in front of her. Before I even had a chance to say anything, she was extremely snappy in saying "You never gave me a coupon". When I calmly responded "Yes I did, I placed my phone in front of you for the code" she snapped, "I don't look down". Wow, that must make life difficult. She then told said "Well, you have to go over there then" after I had waited in not one but two lines for assistance. Rather than own up to her own mistake or at least be semi polite about the situation, I get referred elsewhere for a possible third line. Thankfully the girl here was very nice and even fixed the incorrect discount that Tonya had put in (in addition to not bothering with my coupon); therefore, helping me save a little extra. I'm not a cheapskate brat but seriously, service like this makes me want to take my business elsewhere. If I'm going to get reprimanded and yelled at for no reason, I can do that somewhere that I'm not spending money. read more

Hobby Lobby....''tis the season to hire happy employees". The only reason I returned to this store was because a family member loves the interesting boxes. Last week we bought several boxes for 50% off and decided to return and buy a few more. We saw that they were no longer on sale. An employee (English woman) was walking past, so we asked her if they were still on sale. In a very snarky voice, she replied, "these were never on sale and if you got them on sale, you were lucky" With that she walked away. Hey, Hobby Lobby....yeah, the business that is a so called Christian Store...who does the hiring in your store??? Another thing, quit changing your store around every week. I was so frustrated not being able to find an item, that I thought was in a particular spot. There was another customer in the store who heard me expressing my anger to the person I was with. I'm a bit of a decor junkie, shop-a-holic with a penchant for bargains so Hobby Lobby scratches right where I itch. The store itself I would easily give 5 stars. However, where this store is lacking, & I've seen a common theme in several reviews is the cashier staff. (Their are several stand outs like the 2 black men (whom I try to find & go through his line to avoid the others), the black woman (nice, kindly), the young girl who went to faith & a few others. I believe the root of the negativity up front lies within the Cashier Manager (long curly brown hair, with no chin), she is just plain mopey, unfriendly, flat. She runs the front like smiles cost money or a friendly conversation is a horrendous proposition. She needs to be eliminated or moved somewhere where she can work in a bubble away from the customers. Put a friendly enthusiastic Cashier Manager up front who ENCOURAGES CUSTOMER SERVICE; a friendly positive experience & renames the current face of the company. I can tell you from reading a few reviews & my (no exaggeration) 60 experiences going in there, I solely lacking.
