I went to Hobby Lobby earlier today with my sister and 2yr old son because we wanted to kicked off our fall/halloween decor shopping. After we got in line to check out, my son got upset because, well...he's 2, and the manager or whoever he was, came up to us like something was wrong. As I'm struggling to hold my 40lb 2yr old to comfort him, the guy asked if he was mad about something or was hurt. I already had judgy eyes on me and whispering from other customers and this guy furthered my embarrassment by doing this. I'm sure he was trying to be helpful but it didn't make me feel better when he drew more attention to an already embarrassing situation. I'll be honest, it's not my favorite place to shop but when you artsy, crafty, or seasonal decor, Hobby Lobby as it. The store at CentrePointe is huge with all sorts of seasonal decor or maybe you're just in the mood to make everything in your bathroom resemble Pismo Beach. Looking for sand dollars dishes, yeah they have it. Here's a PRO-TIP. Their website has coupons and or coupon codes. Make sure to have them on your phone or use the mobile app son you can get a discount on top of the already discounted specials. The staff is friendly and very polite. On one occasion, I was looking for white Christmas bulbs and didn't see any stocked on the shelves. I did see them stocked on the very top shelf. An employee Roberto was looking at my perplexed face and said, " I can get those down for you. How many do you want?" Kudos to Roberto for recognizing an issue and acting on it before me or anyone else pestering him to go get the ladder. Young man, Roberto, that intuitive customer service will take you places. As for the moss, paint by numbers Gnomes, picture frames and thr assorted comic book decor for any Marvel or DC man cave, Hobby Lobby has it If you're lucky enough to have the cash on hand to take advantage of the discounts, do it and have no regrets because it won't be there long. I've been a long-time customer at Hobby Lobby in California. We recently moved to Meridian ID. Yesterday was my second time shopping at the Meridian store on Eagle Road. This is a large store, but in my humble opinion its totally disorganized! While they seem to have a lot of various items, its frustrating how unorganized it is. You almost need a map to find the most common items! Its a shame that whoever is in charge, has no sense of organizing or placing similar items next to each other! Furniture items (very few) are outside the entrance, and/ or placed in the back of the store (with absolutely no chairs at all. I had to walk almost the entire store before I could locate a wreath hanger for my door. The sales staff are either very helpful and/or are completely "lost" at customer service! Sorry to say that we will not be returning to the Meridian store again. read more

Hobby Lobby is a great store and provides customers a wide selection of craft merchandise and prides itself on being a Christian-owned company. I used to go to a store in Albany, OR, all the time and fell in love with all parts of the store. There is just so much! If you like perusing through aisles and aisles of never-ending interesting finds, this is the place for you! On my last couple visits I've found some adorable pots to propagate my houseplants into. I also had some beach themed lamps from our old beach house that I was able to redesign using cheap material found at Hobby Lobby. Everything in the picture with the succulents cost me less than $20! IMO that's a damn steal. The reason behind this subpar rating today boils down straight to the customer service. Whether you're asking for a bathroom, at the check out stand, or asking where a certain item is located, you get the same, uppity attitude from associates every time. Like their too good for you. Our last cashier clerk didn't even bother saying hi to us. Like yo, y'all shove it in everyone's faces that you are "family friendly," so start incorporating it. You claim that kindness is a fundamental part of your customer experience but it's clear you don't encourage employees to practice what is being preached to the public. In the end, Hobby Lobby has the best selection of crafting products out of any big box craft store in the city. However, the lack of customer service speaks loud and clear that they are only focused on one thing - money. Not that that is going to stop me from coming here but just a heads up, don't expect anyone to do anything remotely out of the way for you here. Get in, get your shit, get out and call it a day. I'm a die hard dollar store shopper for crafts because, well, they are cheap. But after a recent visit to the dollar store they did not have what I was looking for. I asked the cashier if there were any other craft supply stores nearby and she mentioned Michael's and Hobby Lobby. I went to both stores and Hobby Lobby is definitely my favorite of the two, as well as the only one that had what I was looking for. I love how organized it is and how expansive and huge it is. If you are looking for a craft supply or home decor item, chances are they will have it here. Coming from the dollar store to here was a bit of sticker shock in regards to prices. But they do have sales from time to time. For example all fake floral is half off every other week. And one time I saw home decor on sale. They have an app so perhaps you can find out more about sales on the app. read more

Went with Daughter this week, mid-day. I have had some issues in the past with questionable associates. This was so frustrating. After chasing down an employee extending her break by, staring around and walking away from me like a turtle, as I am loudly saying " hello, Miss, Hello" "can I get a yard of..." I gave up. Finally 20 minutes later she reappeared. It took 20 minutes between the associates talking to cut 2, one yard fabric selections. Are you kidding me. I wondered off. Finally my Daughter walked up with the fabric. We went to check out. There was two lanes open, 4-5 people waiting and one associate and manager at the returns/customer service desk, the lady in front of me gets to go. The cashier calls for a manager to confirm that the item are on sale? What. We stand there 10 minutes, I thought surely the customer service girl would call some people over or the manager would assist. The manager counted out the other person s till to send them to lunch!!!! The customer service girl walked off. I set all my items down and expressed my opinion. My daughter waited. Went to the car. She was there for another ten minutes. The cashier closed her lane when she got to my daughter and sent her to the only open check out!!!! Their company values are great. I am a Joann's and Michaels shopper but just recently decided to try Hobby Lobby. Ok, now I know what all the fuss is about. Lots of selections other than craft supplies. A very fun place to go to to decorate your home for everyday as well as every holiday. An excellent selection of fabrics for sewers too. I noticed the cheaply made furniture items at the entrance that are grossly overpriced. Cute but not well made. Other than that, a great place for so many things to make your house a home and get creative. read more

I would be careful if you return something at Hobby Lobby, I returned a mirror of 158.00 and never received the credit on my account. After many phone calls, and them telling me my credit was returned to my account, they finally said you will have to dispute the charge with your bank. I didn't think getting a return was so difficult? Something went wrong on their end and they could care less. I'm very disappointed and will never shop there again. read more

Regan, the cashier working at the register just now was one of the rudest people I have ever come across. Not one word to me. I have to go and check my receipt to make sure I wasn't overcharged. She saw I had my phone out for a coupon and was disturbed by me asking her to scan it. Also, something fell on a ornament and it broke accidentally and she gave a look of disgust because it broke. I'm almost 100% positive that happens all day long. It was a $1.32 and I offered to pay for it. While I'm here complaining there was another male working near the back that was rude, he was wearing his pants high and glasses. That's the best I could describe him. I just spent $367 and really don't appreciate all the rudeness. I know Christians aren't perfect but at least at In and Out everyone is happy and nice. It's 6:05 pm on 12/17/2020. I'm with another reviewer on their returns. Went there to buy autumn stuff on sale for 40% off. Got 4 things that would all be under $25, full price. The cashier, Kellene, was babbling to the woman at the check out about all their kids, grandkids, blah, blah, blah. Finally the woman left and the cashier kept talking but was getting ready to go on break so she put the lane closed sign up. After I got to the parking lot I noticed my total was over $40. Went back in and they credited $27 to my CC. The next day I looked at my statement and it didn't show so I called them because my CC end date was that day. Talked to a, don't give a shit, manager named Randy and he said it takes up to 3 days. Told him THEY fat fingered the register and the purchase went on there right away. He too, told me to call the bank and had that "who cares" attitude. That must be their standard answer. The clerks need to pay attention to what they're doing and quit the constant chit chat. Will never go back to the Meridian, Idaho hobby lobby. And, I see someone else had issues with the same clerk. Not one person in this store has any interest in being helpful. read more

I really do a lot of my shopping on-line, i.e. Amazon, etc. It's great to get out and give local business a chance to compete. Alas, Hobby Lobby isn't a business here in the Boise area that is even trying. I went there today with a specific item in mind. It was in stock and I took it and went to the check out where the lines were extraordinary. Poor clerk M.J. saw my item and it didn't have a price sticker on it. She made 2 phone calls and sent a front-end manager to find the price (which I had quoted to her when she looked at me). I asked if they scanned bar codes and the question alone seemed to throw her for a 'loop'. Finally (about 5-7 minutes later with others waiting behind me) she punched in the $7.45 price, collected my cash and I was on my way. Hello, Amazon, I'll be back SOON. read more

I'm glad they are wearing masks. However, I spent an hour and 15 minute to have my pictures framed. When it was finally my turn, the man who was helping me stopped and had to answer someone else's question and then he forgot his tape measure had to get it, next another person came to pick up an order and again I was left waiting while he helped her and took the picture to the front of the store, he also helped a man asking about art supplies. My pictures were not hard. I wanted a small simple black frame with no mat. When we finally got it all rung up he told me for Both pictures it would be over $300. Ridiculous. I know not all of it was his fault as he was the only one in that area, but I saw over 10 other employees walking around the area, he also was extremely slow. It would be nice to have more helpers in framing. Next time I'll go to Michaels. read more

I LOVE Hobby Lobby. I'm almost embarrassed to think about how often I am in this store, and joke that the employees must recognize me by now! This is not only a great craft store, but has all kinds of reasonably priced, adorable decor items for your home or office. The store changes it's sale items weekly, so if you want it and it's not on sale, wait a week or two and it probably will be. They also have a coupon for 40% off a non sale item on their website, just look up on your smart phone and BAM! Fabric department is very small, as is their sewing supplies. But that is what JoAnn's is for! Great scrapbooking department. And always tons of selection for holiday decor. Never have had trouble returning something. Have never used any of their custom services, so I can't comment on this area. Only downfalls, they close at 8pm and are closed on Sundays. I totally get it, but am always bummed as Sunday is usually my only free day for crafts and shopping! :) read more

When calling this store, I get to talk to a Live Human Being! No auto-recording or 'selection menu'! This was so refreshing. The person who answered the phone did her best to help me. When she couldn't answer all my questions, she transferred me to someone who could. I was never put on hold, and both staff members were helpful and friendly. Whenever I shop at this store it is always clean, the staff are courteous and professional. They really seem to care about meeting your needs, and they are great at helping people find items in a large space that sells a huge variety. Just visited the store on Eagle Rd and either masks are being under the nose or not at all. Store is over-crowded. Done with Hobby Lobby. Man at front door said, yes, Ada County has a mask mandate but impossible to enforce because customer will say they have a medical problem. Ridiculous. Hobby Lobby won't keep themselves out of women's private, personal health decisions. No employer has the right to decide whether or not female employees or the family of employees can choose some particular type of birth control (and being able to pay is part of that control). Birth control is used for many health care reasons such as controlling the timing of periods, reducing the side effects of periods, controlling migraines, and more. They don't try to control medicines specific to men, so why go after women? Unless they drop their invasive lawsuit that attempts to intrude into and control women's health I will not shop at Hobby Lobby. read more

While Hobby Lobby has great products, and I enjoy looking at their home décor items, I'm writing specifically about my experience with the Meridian, Idaho framing department. I went in to have a montage of pictures matted and framed. At the top of the picture was my surname. I was asking the framing department to cut that part off and include in within the matting at the bottom of the frame. My sister had just had the same thing done at the same store within the last month, and it looked great. However, when I made the request (in her presence) I was treated poorly by the employee working the counter. First of all, he seemed annoyed when we approached the counter and asked to look at their stack of in-house mats (we waited for a few minutes before ringing the bell to get his attention). After providing them, he complained that he still had stuff to do in the back. We told him we were fine; we still needed to select our mats. Once we did, we called him back and made our request. When we described what we wanted, he corrected our terminology and said, "That's not what you call that." He was condescending in tone and attitude. Then he told us that their store policy didn't allow them to fulfill our request. When we explained that my sister had had the same thing done less than a month earlier, he just repeated the store policy and told us the picture ourselves and then bring it back. As we walked away, he passed another employee and said (loudly enough for us to hear), "There's another one asking us to cut art." We called the manager to complain, and he asked us to return after the employee was off work; they would fulfill our request. Apparently the store policy had changed, but the employee's attitude was the bigger problem. In the end, I was happy with their work. And perhaps this was just an isolated instance, but it was very off-putting and I would think twice before having Hobby Lobby frame my pictures and/or artwork again. read more

Had a coupon I wanted to use. All was well until I asked the simple question " do you offer military discounts?" The cashier was polite when she said "sorry we do not". But a manager overheard and approached rather closely and affirmed that they do not, never had, and to do so is an abomination. Why would someone do that? Last night was my first experience at this location and I have to say I'm underwhelmed. The only reason I made the special trip to this store instead of JoAnn's or Michael's was because of a specific hobby kit I wanted to buy for a Christmas gift so I called and had them set one aside for me. They did, but when I went to pick it up I asked someone if I could just grab it since I saw it immediately and she looked at me like I'd just grown another head or was suddenly speaking Klingon. My husband and I perused the aisles and I found their selection to be exactly as described by other commenters. They have a ridiculously large selection of some things (if you ever need a decorative crucifix or 27 different kinds of puffy paint this is your store), and a shockingly sad selection for other items including a minimal fabric section. I'm also not a fan of how sales and items are listed there. I grabbed a multipack of Scotch tape because of a giant sign right in front of the display saying that Christmas decor and wrapping supplies were half off, I apparently missed the microscopic text that said Scotch tape wasn't included but Monika was kind enough to let me know. My biggest problem was the crowded layout of the aisles making it difficult to maneuver and the less than friendly staff, particularly the girl who checked us out, Monika. Now I get it's the holidays and I'm sure the staff at retail stores are ready to sock the next Santa they see in the face but being there to assist customers in a friendly way is kind of what they are paying you for so stop grimacing at me when one of the items I picked up doesn't have a price tag. This, on top of the archaic system of typing in codes for each item instead of having a scanner makes the experience one you'd wish you could forget. Stood in line for 10 minutes yesterday because an item didn't have a price tag and without a scanner they couldn't ring it up (would have helped if Monika wasn't already annoyed with life and willing to go look but she would rather wait twice as long and have two other people help find the code). Then she also insinuated that we were lying about certain items being on sale and instead of looking for herself she waited for another worker to finish with their customer so she could ask them and verify the info. I'll be ordering online or just avoiding Hobby Lobby altogether in the future. read more

I LOVE hobby lobby and today I literally don't want to shop there ever again. The carts are not that big (not their fault) so if your wanting to get a bunch of stuff you have to make a couple trips. I went to the back of the store where the lamps were and decided I wanted about 3 lamps and 2 vases much more than the cart could carry. So I decided to try and push the cart and carry two lamps. I was struggling the whole way up to get another cart and walked by 7 employees and not one single one asked if I needed help!!! Then I finally make it to the front and the manager sees me holding everything I say sir can I keep this up front while I continue to shop he doesn't say much anything points to a cart for me to put stuff in.. DOESNT EVEN OFFER To HELP he literally stood there while I was struggling to fit everything in two carts....then I finally get in line and the line is extremely long so people were waiting on me. He is literally standing by my carts on hold sees me in line and doesn't do anything so I have to get out of line to go get the carts he is standing by I can't even get the two carts at one time so I literally made TWO TRIPS as I am holding up the line to go push both carts to the checkout lane I am in. Finally I am all paid....NOT ONE person asked if they could help me get all the stuff I got into my car at this point I had three carts to get to my car full of fragile lamps and vases. THREE ladies in like asked if they could help me get all my stuff into my car.......and then after getting everything into my car I got to push three carts back to the store because they don't have an outdoor cart thing and no one helped me.....Thank you Hobby Lobby for all your help and the manger that sat and watched it all. I want to write a great review because let's be honest this is a great hobby store with a great selection of items. But today they wasted 25min of my time! After I paid for my items and got to my car I reviewed my receipt because I felt like it was a little high for all the things I bought and that's when I realized I was overcharged by almost $60?! Two items at 29.69 which I did not buy!!! Everything I Bought was a bunch of little things, and I get it based on their old school charging system where they have to manually enter each item I understand mistakes can happen, so I go back and nicely explain there was a mistake and expect them to simply refund that mistake... instead they went through all my bags and items twice and try to figure out the problem, which btw they never did... finally decide to just refund me after I stood there with my toddler for over 20min while they went through my things over and over!! My time is important, like everyone, I feel this issue could have been resolved much more effectively and respectfully!! Will I go back?? Of course I Love Hobby Lobby, but from now on I will be watching the check out process a lot more carefully!! read more

Yesterday I purchased several frames and decor items that were 50% off. When I returned to my office, the rest of the staff wanted the same frames for their rooms and for the doctor's waiting area. So I drove several miles back to the store, picked up 6 more frames and when I went to check out, she told me "These are NEVER on sale"-- so I showed her my receipt from a few hours before and she replied "You just got lucky; the cashier made a mistake." So I asked to speak to a manager who did come over and told me the same thing. I told them I thought that was poor customer service and would they please honor the price I paid a few hours before. ABSOLUTELY NOT! Then I asked if there was a coupon or a code I could use. The manager said "We don't have ANY coupons here in the store." And there was a pile next to the cash register. Nor did she offer the website where I could go ON MY PHONE and get a coupon. For a few dollars, they could have garnered lots of positive feedback. VEry poor customer service and respect. I was called to pick up jewelry findings that I had ordered through the Oklahoma home office. I had called to complain about the manager, Richard, and his really horrible attitude. Tamara, the customer service representative, apologized for his bad behavior and took my order over the phone. I was called to say it was ready. I arrived, 2 managers, including Richard, had no idea what I was talking about and I left the store empty handed after travelling 120 miles round trip. I never heard from them again. Period. Now I read their CEO is collecting artifacts that do not belong to him. Hey kids, thats called stealing and according to some religious beliefs, thats a sin. They owe me the gas I spent in vain. So Richard, Tamara, and Mr. CEO, I would consider all your behaviors in business to be nowhere near the standards of a self-endorsed evangical platform for business in the USA. read more
