Service/Selection 5/5 To be frank, this is my wife's store that I've come to appreciate. While she's of getting picture frames, artwork of other interior design pieces I love to pour over the books and affirmation items. I always find something to grab and save for that time when someone needs their spirits lifted. They have them and I scooped up five! Books, I typically find 2-3 as title change quickly. Scored a big one today. Value 5/5 This is truly a value store, fun inventory at reasonable prices. Marking today's visit harlarious was my dilation. Holy Cow Becky everything was so bright I had a difficult time reading, seeing and at time holding my eyes open must have been a spectacle to see, pun intended! I needed a certain color sparkly yarn for a project. Michael doesn't have that great of selection and Jo-Ann's is closed but I could count on Hobby Lobby Lobby to still carry it thank goodness. Plus every other week their yearn is 30% off so I made sure to come the correct week. Even though their prices have gone up, that still drops to an affordable amount. The aisles were nice and clean. The employees are not always the friendliest although some are. But they are always available to help you find what you are looking for. I found a cute pair of lavender shorts but there was no place to try them on so I went ahead and bought them in the size I thought would fit and brought them home to try, knowing I could take them back if they didn't fit and try another size. I asked about the return policy and the girl told me you have 60 days with the receipt and 90 days without a receipt. I thought that was more than generous. I'm sure I will be back. read more

I visited this location on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was extremely busy and crowded. The workers were stocking, and there were boxes in the middle of the floor and down three aisles. The employee near me was coughing and blowing her nose and placed the tissue in her pocket. I felt this was very unsanitary, especially since she was stocking items and touching them with unclean hands. I was immediately frustrated and uncomfortable and left within two minutes of arriving. If you're looking for something to decorate your home I highly recommend this place. I think that it bills itself as a craft supply store, which it is, but I think just as many people are there for the huge variety of home decor items. The price is really are quite good, and if what you want is not on sale this week it's likely to be on sale next week. It seems like they have one week with half the items on sale and the following week with the other half. The only downfall to hobby lobby is there checkout process. Unless you're there first thing in the morning, you better be prepared to wait. The lines move slowwwwllllyyyy, and they get long. I did notice that when she checked me out, she literally still punched in the price of each item into the register, one number at a time. I've learned to go close to opening to get our pretty quickly, and if you have the time, it really is worth it. read more

There was a certain staff member who was completely rude to my mother and grandmother in the fabric department. She clearly has no understanding what customer service is. Rolling her eyes, sighing and complaining how she wanted to be on her lunch break. I addressed with one of the managers who was very kind and apologetic but I will never be returning to this location again. As a Christian company I expected more. read more

I would recommend this particular location. It's my first and last time visiting this specific store. This has not been my experience at other locations. The cashier's customer service is trash! I was standing in line waiting to purchase my items. An employee directed me to a register that was recently opened. Blake the cashier offered no greeting. He rang up my items and placed them on the counter as if he was done. I politely asked for a bag. After sighing like I'd inconvenienced him he put my items in my bag and started "acting" busy. Mind you register just opened and there was not a line behind me. I understand everyone can have an off day. But when you have a customer facing job good customer service goes a long way. I am deeply disappointed by the discriminatory treatment my mother received at this location. My mother is a retired ICU nurse who always dresses professionally and conducts herself with dignity. She went in to return a single item and presented a valid receipt. She waited in line behind three other customers who processed returns without issue. However, when it was my mother's turn, the cashier stated she needed to review store surveillance to 'confirm' the purchase; a step that was not taken for the three customers prior. My mother was made to wait 10 minutes for this "verification". When asked why she was singled out when the previous customers were not, the supervisor claimed it was 'store policy.' Given that my mother was well-dressed, polite, and holding a valid receipt, appearance was clearly not the issue. The only distinguishing factor between her and the customers before her (who were all white) who were treated with respect was her brown skin color. A policy that is only enforced based on race is not a policy; it is profiling. I will also be sending an email to your corporate office to file a complaint as well. read more

I am very disappointed in Hobby Lobby. Halloween is a Christian celebration and doesn't come from Samhain or have pagan roots like people try to say. This has been historically proven. I am sad as Christian's that they are not celebrating as they should would spooky decor. Notice I said spooky not scary. Halloween was never ment to be scary. I am so disappointed. We went here to look for some Christmas decorations for our new house and at first I was amazed at how large the store was and all they had to offer. It was like Michael's on steroids. They had a pretty nice selection of Christmas decor. Moving through the store was an utter pain in the you know what. It was slightly crowded but their aisles are super narrow to the point where you can't get by if another person is in front of you. That was pretty cumbersome and is a reason why I probably won't shop here during a holiday ever again. Checking out was SUPER slow and it seems every cashier was moving in slow motion. Their check out process seems super antiquated. We waited over 20 minutes in line and we were the third in line. Despite my better judgement, I returned to this store about a week later to pick up some wrapping paper and it was the same nonsense...long, slow check out lines. It's really bad because it creates a frenzy amongst the customers. One lady in front of us saw a line open up and ran over to it, almost knocking my boyfriend down. Hobby Lobby needs to fix this asap. read more

I stopped into Hobby Lobby today to do some Christmas shopping. My son and nephew are both into model rocketry (they are 8 and 7 respectively). I had previously purchased rocketry items from this location, and I knew they had a good selection of kits and accessories. Arriving today, the store was very busy! Having only been here once before, I'd forgotten just how much stuff they have! There is literally something for everyone at Hobby Lobby. I found the rocketry aisle, and to my surprise, everything in this category was marked down! I picked out a few items, and headed to the cashier. Julie took care of me up front, and was super-friendly. She even mentioned a coupon that was available for me to use on a future in-store or online order! Thanks, Julie! All in all, my experience was about as good as it gets for a retail establishment. I think I'll hop on their website after dinner tonight, and see if I can put that coupon to use! read more

I went to this location with my wife and the employee and the manager gave me the worst time I've ever had here. I love hobby lobby but since this visit I won't go back. Here is what happened. The entire time me and my wife were here their idiot loss and found dude and the little young manager followed us around the entire store like we were gonna steal stuff and to top it off I took a hit of my vape. And I know I forget that some places don't allow vaping so she told me raised her voice at me that "no vaping in my store" I told her sorry and my wife was a couple feet ahead of me so i told my wife don't hit her vape it's not allowed and I was not saying it in anyway i was just warning her not to do it in here cause she vapes so the manager got all tough and threatened to kick me out of her store I was simply telling my wife not to vape and the manager turned into this power hungry bitch and threatened me. Me and my wife had well over 150-200$ dollars in our cart which we were gonna pay for but after this we just left our cart and walked the fuck out of the store. I'm never going back cause they treat customers with disrespect I'm glad a I saved my money. read more

Never coming back here after two atrocious visits, so 'fool me once,' yada yada. My initial visit here seemed okay at first until the cashier offered to wrap up my delicate item, then proceeded to insult me, saying something along the lines of 'yeah, because men don't do any wrapping, do they?!?' As if I had opened myself up to such an unwarranted and biased opinion...and I do wrap, by the way. The second time was to look at their Christmas decorations, which are mostly hideous - I have never seen such ugly and cheaply-made decorations anywhere else. Huge lines at the checkout, only made worse by several cashiers closing their lanes instead of trying to get people out the door; the cashier in front of me had even less regard, taking as long as possible with the patron in front of me -- and indulging in their kids, who were acting up -- rather than try to expedite the transaction. I also nearly got trampled on by two [insert bad word] customers who chose to rush to another cashier with a shorter line, rather than asking, 'you have one item - would you like to go ahead?' That last visit was 30 minutes of my life I'll never get back, 25 of which were spent waiting to leave. I don't know what ring of Dante's I could reference here, but Hobby Lobby can keep their awful products, horrible customers and abominable employees. read more

I was visiting in arizona from hawaii. To get straight to the point. After several times over the past couple years when i had to travel to az.. i would go to this hobby lobby because it was closer but every time i went I did not feel comfortable. They follow you if your brown was my impression. They add up the sales prices wrong. But im mainly complaining about my purchase from them. A glimmer hot foul system that cost $74.99. It was a used reboxed item!!! It had no notations of it being used. I did not plan to buy used! Come on freaken hobby lobby you cheat your costumers. Great products and prices. However the check out lines are always so long. I feel like they have the longest lines in the retail industry. I wonder if it's just this store or every hobby lobby. It doesn't matter the time of day or day of the week. Usually six people in each line. On the other hand, maybe that speaks volumes about the rest of the store that they're just so busy. read more

Wow! I love this place! This location just opened in the valley not to long ago, and its located off the US60 and Greenfield Road. Its really easy to see from the road, and huge! Upon entering, the place was well lit and so organized. They have tons of stuff. Artwork, floral, pictures, fabrics, and all sorts of goodies. Everything here is well organized-loads to look at as well. They seem to have regular sales as well, so keep your eye out. Worth the trip, and much better then I had expected. read more

I frequent this Hobby Lobby as it is close to my house. We have used it for last minute school project needs, holiday decor, and birthday party favors. I have always found what I needed, and most of the time an employee is glad to help me out. I always find the store to be very clean as well. I went here to buy decorations for my Christmas tree and most of the employees were racist . They just kept staring at me and my sister like we didn't belong there . I felt very uncomfortable and when I went to go pay I gave them a 100 dollar bill and the cashier checked it and then had to go ask someone else to check it as well and she quickly said it was real, as if she really couldn't tell between a fake or real bill. But then I went to the register and the gal there was very short and rudish I asked her the same question and she was like umm idk whatever we have we have and I was like Um ok well can we get it? And showed her, she seemed bothered too! She was in returns training someone then she got her I'm assuming supervisor to help us thank goodness she was normal helpful like they should all be. Hobby Lobby always has the supplies I need and then some I didn't know I "needed" until I browsed past them. The prices are competitive and I have found service on the aisles and at checkout to be cheerful and helpful. The aisles are not labeled and items are occasionally rearranged, so it sometimes takes a few more minutes to locate the supplies for which I am shopping. Signs or a few service call buttons would help speed shopping. read more

I was so excited when I found out they were putting in a HL in the East Valley. Then I went there. And all my hopes of lovely scrap stuff were dashed. I seriously hate going to this store. The only thing that will drag me out there is the prices. Those can't be beat when there is a sale. That's the only reason they are getting even two stars. The lines are outrageous. No scanners in a chain store in 2009? Yep, that's correct. Everything has to be entered by hand. The cashiers will routinely ask YOU if an item is on sale, as they have to enter that manually as well. It can work out for you, as often time things that aren't on sale get rung up as such. But if you don't watch, you can also not get sales on items you should. Watch carefully! I've really only shopped in the scrap section, so this is only about that. Half the shelves are empty all the time!! I went one Saturday for paper and the shelves were more than half empty, but you couldn't navigate the aisles because they were full of boxes of paper!! Well, the next day their ad came out with all paper 50% off. SWEET! I figure that's why it was a mess. So I go back in the next Friday and IT IS STILL A MESS! The boxes are still all over the aisles, now with not so nice notes to not go in the boxes and the shelves are even emptier! I asked the one worker I could find if they would be out before the sale was over. Doubtful she said, as more stuff kept coming in and they couldn't keep up. Couldn't tell by the shelves that they were getting in new stuff! I've went back a couple of times since. The only time there aren't huge lines and at least 20 minutes of waiting is right before they close. So don't go and think you can run in and out! read more

When I lived in other states, it was my "go to" place for all things creative and decorative from flowers, frames, fabric, and furniture to crafts, scrapbooking, and candles. So I felt especially special when it opened here, just a few miles from my house! Whoopee! * Home for the Holidays... Their holiday stuff is superb. If you're one of those that likes to decorate for just about EVERY holiday known and unknown to man, you are smart to shop here. (If you're not one of those, be prepared: the store looks like it "threw up" Christmas and Easter when those holidays come around.) Ha! * Girly Gifts Galore! Looking for something dainty and original for that hard-to-please delicate friend or girlfriend? You are smart to shop here. * Please Pass the "Parent" Projects: I come here when I need "assistance" when "assisting" my kids on their school projects (I'm really beginning to hate those elementary school projects - adults are really the ones equipped to create them. Just sayin'.). Hobby Lobby has an array of do-it-yourself kits for - ahem - hobbies! ...Go figure!... I am smart to shop here. * 4 stars instead of 5: I agree with previous reviews that the checkout lines are not efficient. Partly why is because they do not scan barcodes. They enter the prices manually for each item. WARNING: Since we - the people of the 21st century - are no longer accustomed to a barcode-less checkout, experiencing manual input of prices, quantities, and discounts may bring on acute irritation, especially when the lines back up. Management says they save their customers money by not converting to the barcode/quick scan system. ... Aight then. Whatever you say, HL. I say, "Humpf." ... BE ADVISED: when you budget your time to shop here, consider adding on a few more minutes than typical for checking out. * The Whole is Greater than the Sum of Its Parts: This store is way bigger than its competitors and carries a greater variety of items. During my visits, this location has been well-stocked and relatively clean for a craft super store. They are closed on Sundays so that their employees may spend time with their families. And they carry tons of "faith-based" items for just about everything imaginable. I like that. If you're a "Craft-Head" or craft addict, you are smart to shop here. I'm currently not into any craft or hobby that would drive me to the Hobby Lobby, but I did visit them earlier today to shop for large matting and frame for a group photo taken for Employee Appreciation Day at my jobby-job. Oh, and I'm championing the event at our local site (biting knuckles with anxiety), so everything MUST be perfect. I'm not kidding. It was SUCH a pain-free shopping experience, let me tell you. First off, this store is pretty huge with lots of stuff (think candles, homegoods, crafting shit/supplies, that sorta stuff). I instinctively head to the back of the store for the custom frame area. My gut was right and they were located in the back along with many rows of matting, various frames, posterboard, art, etc. I selected the matting I liked, but needed a custom one cut for a unique size. Plus, the matting is to be signed with Sharpies by employees, so I needed ample room too. The male employee was very helpful and answered all of my ignorant questions patiently. It took him *maybe* 3-4 minutes total to cut my dimensions request and reassure me the extra-fine point Sharpies shouldn't bleed on this material. I also picked out a basic black frame for my picture - they do have more ornate designs too. I visited cashier lady next and presented my 40% off coupon and I was on my way back to work! I bought fabric for another project I am working on and that was even 30% off. Did I mention this store has EVERYTHING? Anytime I've visited this Hobby Lobby, I enter what's called a "crafting coma"... which means that I can't think of anything else to do but craft. Came here cuz I'm redecorating our living room and a friend told me to check this place out. So glad I listened! Lots of great home accents and DIY crafts to make your own decorations as well. They had a great clearance section, and mostly everything in the store was 50% off! Even though some of the items were pricey to begin with, it came out to a decent price after the discount! There is also a iphone app for the store and they have a coupon in the for 40% off your purchase so check it out! I feel that they keep up with the trends. The prices are reasonable so you're not breaking the bank. I have always been able to find thing on sale or just at a low price.
