I shop here very regularly for all sorts of hobby and art supplies. The staff is very helpful and the store is very well stocked, even with some of the more obscure imported supplies I need. I've never waited in line for more than a minute or two, and the prices are rock bottom! read more

There was only 2 lines opened, however there where 5 employees standing, talking and watching the lines getting bigger and bigger, I complained to the Cashier and ahead looked at me like I was Crazy.. OK, I absolutely in love with Hobby Lobby. I know my hubby was hoping that they would have more in the way of manly stuff when we walked in. However, I got lost in the scrapbooking aisles. I missed going to A.C. Moore up north and was so happy when I saw the variety of crafting items available here at Hobby Lobby. I walked in at the perfect time to, as they were having a sale on the stickers I needed (fifty percent off!!) so I got to stock up!! Momma and I went back a week ago to look at garland and Christmas trees (our first Christmas in Florida) and were a bit shocked at the prices for those items. However, everything else seems to be pretty reasonably priced. I know someone got me a gift card for Christmas that I can't wait to get my hands on!! I'll be back Hobby Lobby. Being a performer that makes all of my costumes, I have to come to this Hobby Lobby frequently as it's the closest shop to my house that will have my glue, trims, needles, thread, etc. While they have a large selection of items and virtually anything you could ever need when it comes to crafting, I have to knock off some stars for a few reasons. Reasons being: 1. I have never been even remotely greeted or acknowledged upon entering this store. There have been a number of occasions where upon walking in and it is quiet at the checkout lines at the very front, there are an employee or two chatting with each other. They will stop talking, look at me, and resume their conversation. Not a "hello," "welcome," "how are you," just a casual glance over or even more awkwardly, they will stare at me as I walk by. I know I look different. I know I am heavily tattooed. I know I'm not a cookie cutter that you typically see in North Port on a daily basis. But do NOT stare at me if you aren't even going to greet me or somewhat acknowledge me once I have entered your establishment. This can be key to making or breaking a business and though Hobby Lobby is a large company, it makes people uncomfortable and not want to come back. 2. I have noticed that a vast majority of the picture frames that go out onto the shelves have damage, more so with this store compared to other Hobby Lobby stores that I have been to. I had found the perfect frame for a piece of art and all 5 or 6 on display had damage, making me not want to buy it. Whether it be scratches or chipped paint (and I am not talking about the purposely distressed frames), a lot of the ones out for sale are not perfect. Thoroughly look them over before you buy one. 3. The fabric selection is just okay. If you're looking for basic cottons, or kitschy juvenile prints, then you could probably find something here. If you're like me that needs chiffons, organzas, mesh materials, and pretty much anything with beads or rhinestones, make the trip to Joanns as it will be much, much, much more worth your while with a lot more to choose from. This particular store is convenient, well priced, and offers lots of coupons which can also help to save a buck. It however, is only a 3 star in my book. read more

Overall I got what I needed; however, they would not accept my employee discount (I work at another hobby lobby in Tennessee) because I didn't have a pay stub. At the other stores I went to, a pay stub was not needed, only an employee ID. As a cashier, I have handled these kinds of transactions and have not needed to see a pay stub or drivers license. Sometimes, when I feel like holding hands and kissing, I come to Hobby Lobby with my boyfriend. Sometimes I just come with a random man. It's such a welcoming atmosphere and so open... ...but I digress... It is amazing the amount of tchotchke, decorations, and supplies one can find at Hobby Lobby. They just have so many options for projects I am working on. Now if they would only start carrying full rights for women, it would be perfect. read more

PROS: Great Place to buy Anything & EVERYTHING to Accessorize your Home or Shop with. If you haven't been there, you must, and you must do it Early, because if you are anything like my mom who wants to look at everything, then it'll take you like 4 hours to go through the whole place. Words can't even describe this place. It has hobby stuff, to arts n crafts, to furniture, to accessories, holiday things, a massive store for everything you can think of. This Place is Amazing. CONS: The only bad thing about this place is: Most of the things they sell in this store are made in China. AND the custom frames area is quite expensive. read more

This place is incredible. My wife took me here for the first time and I loved it. Always thought it was just some sewing fabric place. But seeing all the great items for home decor has excited me about redoing numerous rooms in my house. Guys if your girls drag you here go, plenty of cool stuff for the man cave. read more

The girl in the fabric area today could use some training in customer service and helping them find what the need. She may have been new, but that doesn't excuse lack of attention and asking for help when she doesn't know the answer. After finding it myself (beaded lace) I was never told there was a another whole section of what I was looking for in the bridal area. On a good note, there were plenty of cashiers and some great sales. read more

We purchased a custom frame for a piece of original art. Phillip was the salesman and he was very patient with us. We also had a print to be framed. We purchased a frame and chose a mat to make it look nicer. This was a Christmas present for our granddaughter. We commented we would need to ship it and he immediately accommodated us by framing the print while we waited. Terrific service! read more

I'm usually always a fan of Hobby Lobby because of their amazingly cute things and selection, but this past month was my first bad experience with them BUT they turned it all around. To make a long story short I ordered a product through the store and after waiting 3 weeks for the product they said it was non orderable to my disappointment, but I spoke with a manager who offered me a discount on top of the sale price. I ended up getting 2 candlesticks for $10 and was VERY pleased. Hobby Lobby does have great customer service and is more than willing to go out of their way when there is an error. read more

Despite the people being nice and not all too crowded, there is almost no place to sit besides the bench with the displays.

A priceless needlepoint picture I took to Hobby Lobby to be framed was lost there, how can this happen, they are further investigating, you can't put a price on something like that, I won't be going back there when this is resolved. read more
