Hobby Lobby at Quarry bend in Sandy, Utah is a happy place to be. Friendly smiles, happy and helpful workers and caring demeanor. I have recently began doing more reviews because I feel that good businesses and employees should be acknowledged more. Patient service, nice selection of fabric for many of our sewing projects, and even for our garments. Good selection of cotton, cotton gauze, linen blends, and good prices and value when we shop. Every other week they have very good discounts and it's throughout the year, check out their ad online or the app. We have lived in Utah about two years and we have not been received with much welcoming by many people. We are Christian non denominational and I wear a Headscarf as in 1 Corinthians 11 shows for New Testament believers. Well in Utah we have been confused with Muslim and also being Latina we have encountered much racism ( which is not right to be racist to any race or religion by the way) Not at Hobby Lobby everyone has been respectful and welcoming. The workers at Hobby Lobby have been kind and engaging. Unlike in some places or stores we visit we have Peace and Joy when we go shopping for our sewing projects. I wish I knew names but everyone from the ladies cutting fabric to the cashiers have been very sweet and nice. I happy to know that the Manager at this location has been making good decisions about who works there and how they treat their customers. I hope God blesses the workers and their families and that they keep encouraged to do the work of The Lord. The Holy Spirit has been doing great things at this location and I know God smiles as He sees employees who are working for His Glory and who treat others with kindness. read more

Bad all the way around. The wheelchair is too wide to navigate alone. I lost my checkout bill for my fabric, but rather than helping me out, the cashier simply said "I can't sell you this!" I was too uncomfortable to wheel myself around back to the fabric section to get another invoice and left without purchasing my material. The employees were extremely unhappy to help their customers and just rude! Never again!!! read more

I always get into Troy ke when coming to Honny Lobby as there's so many cute things to decorate your house! My service dog found her perfect spot to sit & wait for me as I was browsing & she didn't want to sit her bum on the cold floor & became part of the Dr. Siess display which had shoppers giggling. read more

I love this store for home decor. They have seasonal items, silk flowers, kitchen and outdoor things, etc. Seems like they usually have good sales without needing coupons or being a frequent customer like the other craft store which shall be unnamed. Employees are very friendly and helpful so they must like working here. Huge parking lot with lots of other stores nearby. read more

This review is actually for all the hobby lobby's but this is the one I went into today. I specifically went in looking for Halloween decorations. After not finding a witch, black cat, bat or anything Halloween I asked the lady cleaning the carts (jokingly) if they skipped right over Halloween. She said the company elected not to do Halloween this year. Are you kidding me? 2020 is bad enough so far but a craft and decor store decided not to put out any items for a specific holiday? Especially Halloween? I've spent a lot of money on Halloween, football, Christmas and other items at hobby lobby in the past. Never again. I'll probably never shop here ever again. read more

This Hobby Lobby is one of the larger and nicer locations I have been to, and thus they actually had a decent yarn section. I have a love/hate relationship with the chain, but they produce consistently good yarn and when it is on clearance, and I happen to be in the area, it is a score to check it out. I also found the staff at this location to be friendlier and more helpful than most locations! read more

I second what Liz said in the first review in that there is a lot of stuff a bit over priced for what it is. But you can get your fabric and crafts and decor all under one roof if it suits you to do so here. I think if you have some specific decor or even party themes you are trying to do then it is a good stop. They always have Christmas and Halloween it seems too. If you're trying to add something to a man cave or kids theme room it's good too. They are stocked with merchandise so you'll likely find it there. read more

Wow.wow wow wow. This place is weird. Like beyond weird, like Walmart meets Michaels meets Kmart meets David Koresh meets depression meets Woolworths from 1987. Walking into Hobby Lobby I was hesitant. I believe in access to women's services but I also thought, hey, I'm fully invested in Amazon so I can be open to being flexible on my shopping convictions. But wow, this place is like another planet from the deepest depths of some creepy fictional southern town in the Chainsaw massacre and the employees either all know you'll be made into BBQ or look forward to eating you as BBQ. Also, there is so.much.tan.in.this.store. It is a sea of never ending beige wood decor, beige metal decor, and every idea for a themed party you ever wanted but in beige. Their product all looks strangely similar and nothing alike at the same time. Similar in that its all tan and cheap but nothing alike in that you can buy movie theater decor or rustic wood cabin decor or pet themed decor. Or anything else you could ever imagine with the exception of a woman empowerment themed decor. Hobby Lobby is also unimaginably big, overwhelming big, I'm not sure how you access the top shelves without a firetruck ladder big. It is so much stuff you practically can't think straight and its all so meh. If there is one thing I can convey with this review it would be, please do not decorate your whole house from Hobby Lobby. Your house will look so generic and slightly cheap that you will never forgive yourself. Honestly, please don't do that. Go to target, go to Big lots, got to Ikea, go to literally anywhere else and pick something out that has interesting texture and color. If you want endless composite wood signs with precious phrases, send me a DM and I will make you one for free if that means it will save you from the mundanity that is Hobby Lobby. Hobby Lobby really bugs me. I don't come here that often, but I've probably visited the store 6 or 7 times, and I think I bought something once. How can it be so huge but also not have what I am looking for every time I go? There are rarely employees on the floor, which makes an already frustrating situation even more annoying when I am unable to locate what I need. Prices are pretty meh. They do the thing where their prices are initially high, and then they are always on sale like "50% OFF!!!!!" but it's really just the price you'd normally pay somewhere else. It is usually pretty busy on the weekends so obviously other people like shopping here. It's just not for me! read more

I'm not really looking to pick up any more hobbies. I've got a stack of half-attented ones that beg to be picked up in my free time. So a trip to Hobby Lobby requires the blinders or you'll get sucked into project-think. "Ooh yes, I could replace the knobs, hooks, and switch plates out for rustic ones," and "of course I need a new wreath--why don't I get the silk flowers and make it myself," and also, "I'd love to start painting, here's the canvas and paints." It's quite the the overload. But in a good way. In a way that, in the end, gives you a cuter house, or at least a house with more stuff in it that you did instead of going out and getting into trouble. Peruse the art section (do it yourself), the framed art (for non-painters looking for decor), the silk flowers, beads, model planes/trains/cars, and a custom framing shop. Fabrics (wait--I saw fabric there, right?) and approximately 8.2 gazillion other crafty McCrafty items at you disposal. Just go in knowing what you're after or you'll leave with all your free time wrapped in crafts for the next year. read more

You won't ever feel safe shopping here unless you look like a white Christian. I went in with my family tonight for various craft items, but we split up because I wanted to look at the anime keychains. After I found the one I wanted, I met back up with my family and made my own separate purchase. This lady who I assume is the manager of the store or supervisor in charge at the time, was standing by the exit and literally glared at me the entire time I made my purchase. When I walked past her to exit the store, she promptly followed me out, but couldn't say anything to me because she had no probable cause. There was not a single thing that I did in that store to make her think I had stolen something other than look the way I do; she absolutely profiled me. I hope she checks the security cameras just to see that I didn't steal a single thing. I definitely won't ever be coming back here just because of how unsafe I felt in that moment. read more

I am a huge fan of a competitor of this store. They do have some great items, but their prices are a bit higher and they do not take compeititor coupons. They do sell a larger selection of art products and doll house items if that is what you are looking at buying. Both locations in town are a bit of a drive for me and I will only go there if I absolutely need to. They are also not open on Sunday's so if you are in need of craft items on Sunday you will need to look elsewhere. read more

Hobby Lobby is...I don't know. It's huge. And a bit overwheming. And they have everything you'd ever want or need. But, good luck finding it. I should probably preface by saying, I'm not the world's craftiest person. But I am a teacher, and a mom, and I have a home, so there are occasions when I might go to a craft/ framing store. And now, I don't know...I'm ambivalent. It's just that there was Roberts, which was closer to me, and I knew my way around, and it was nice and small but still had everything I'd ever want or need. But then came Hobby Lobby, which is huge and I'm sure fantastic to all the super-crafty people out there. But soon after, Roberts closed. And once again I feel lost and overwhelmed. So, in short, we'll have to see. I'm not crazy about it, but I'm willing to give it a shot. read more

Usually love Hobby Lobby. Bought a frame and had a picture mounted with their courtesy service. It was a gift. Visited my friend and the picture fell off the matting. They won't redo without my receipt. I had this done the end of July it is now the beginning of September. Now what do I do? Pay more than the frame and matting to have another shop do it? Really poor service. The lady in the frame shop was very rude and generally unfriendly. I am so disappointed they have always been awesome. read more

Whenever I have an urge to make my own soy wax candles, latch-hook a rug, or need fabric for my next quilt I go to Hobby Lobby. They have every sort of accessory you would need for whatever craft you're currently interested in. Things that I have searched high and low for online or at other big box craft stores are in stock at Hobby Lobby and are also reasonably priced. My favorite part is that Hobby Lobby employees know their shelf contents like the back of their hand. On multiple occasions I have been able to ask them about a vague hard to find item and have always been told (to my absolute DELIGHT) exactly what aisle and on what section of the shelf. I love that I can ask a question and have someone happily help. It's a drive from where I live but the plethora of supplies they carry as well as the service I receive is what makes it worth my while. read more

Hobby Lobby is like a Wal-Mart version of a craft store: huge with poor customer service. I've been there a couple of times, but today was the worst. I waited in line for about ten minutes behind a woman who was trying to return something. Based on the interaction going on between the woman and the cashier, I won't being trying to return anything there soon- they were very unhelpful while the woman was trying to be very reasonable. When it was finally my turn, the cashier asked me to walk to another check-out. This was all after spending 20 minutes trying to find double-stick tape (which I never found). I, like the woman who was attempting to return something, will not shop there again. read more

We just recently moved from Austin Texas and had probably spent over $10,000 in framing over the last year. We had an unbelievable awesome experience. Since moving here we've had to put pictures in our self. We had a custom mat that the employee wouldn't put in the frame for us. One employee Denise wouldn't put a wire on the back of one of our frames. She said it's not something they do when we have over 50 that say other wise. Sometimes they will put on a dust backing sometimes they won't. I know I'm one person and it doesn't matter but we will be taking our business to a new location. read more

Absolute joke of a place. Debbie the manager told me to drive down from Provo and she would wait for me so I could buy my 7 year old a pinewood derby car wrap. I show up at 8:04 and she locked the door on me and talked thru the door saying sorry but she is unable to open the door. Drove 45min on her word. Unbelievable place. This location for Hobby Lobby has the WORST customer service I've experienced in a long time. I shop here often, because I don't have another close option. But even management will walk by without even looking at you (repeatedly), let alone smiling at you. Today's experience was a classic example. One manager walking by, miserable, the cashier didn't even want to give eye contact, just handed me my receipt without a word. When I said "Thank you", she said "your welcome" while looking somewhere off to the side. This store is supposedly proud of their Christian-based business. The founder's book is near the cash register and they play christian music throughout the store. The example these people are setting is embarrassing. read more

I read these reviews and people are literally complaining about how big the store is.... I'm unclear on how having a huge selection of anything and everything you could even think of and things you'd never thought of before as a bad thing. I see that as a positive thing. Just wandering the aisles will spark your creativity. I'm an artist, I stick to mostly using just plain old ballpoint pens. But after checking out hobby lobby I've now delved into watercolors. Which they have in cake pan form. Watercolor pencils, liquid Watercolor, and even Watercolor crayons. My 4 year old loves going with me and picking out an art project to do. Such an awesome place! I've never had a negative interaction with any employees there and always walk out happy. read more

I think they have a good selection here. And I have the app where I can have access to a 40% off coupon for a full price item. If i do not need help and come at a non popular shopping time, its good. Where they are lacking is in customer service. Lines are always really long and it seems confusing for people making returns. I also needed help in the fabric dept. and the 2 ladies I talked to were both older and really confused at what I was asking for. All I wanted to know was if a certain spool of ribbon was in stock but they were awful and both made me feel like an idiot after talking to them :( read more

I'll admit I was overwhelmed on my first visit and the customer service was poor. Luckily I had time to explore the whole store myself. I was very happy to see such a large variety of supplies. There were traditional craft supplies like candle making, and doll making to more current like custom hair bow sections and lots of home décor. I miss Roberts but hobby lobby is better since it has a fabric department as well. After a few visits I'm comfortable with the layout and feel I can just run in as I did into Roberts. The checkout can be slow. The clerks seemed confused with sales and coupons. read more

I'm fortunate in that I have three hobby/craft stores within a short distance of my home and I go to them for various things. Hobby Lobby has a great selection and has some of the more rare items. That said they do tend to be a little more expensive, but if you shop the ad for their 50% off sales that balances out the general expense. I like them in particular for cotton yarns, specialty buttons and papercrafts. They do not have as strong of a selection of fabric, but often if I just need a small piece to finish a project off I can find it there. If you are looking for a lot of already finished home decor items there is a lot of selection. That's not what I go to a hobby store for most of the time, so I can't speak to the quality of these items as I've never purchased them. read more

Hobby lobby get with the times! There is never a time that I have not been overcharged or had to point out to the cashier that an item is on sale! They expect their cashiers to remember what is in their ad and on sale and then the cashier is expected to hand key in the price. I refuse to only purchase a few items so that I can keep track of what is being rung up! With today's technology this is not acceptable. I really like the store and they have an amazing amount of craft supplies. However, the staff is not very friendly or welcoming.
