Unfortunately I'm met with poor customer service each time I visit. On my most recent trip I picked up some jewelry beads which were heavily marked as on sale with placards posted all across the products. At checkout, the older woman working as the cashier mumbled under her breath as she was ringing me up which I assumed was her talking to herself/noting what the costs were to ring up. She told me the total and I swiped my card not thinking too much of it. When I got back to my car I realized the math didn't quite add up. I checked the receipt and realized the jewelry beads were not discounted so I went back inside to request a price verification. I was rudely told that she had told me those weren't on sale - which maybe she did whilst she was mumbling but I hadn't acknowledged it as I didn't actually hear it. I let her know if they weren't on sale then I'd like to return those items. Thankfully a manager stepped in and let her know the beads were indeed on sale and showed her where it said so on the weekly flyer. The cashier apologized to the manager - not me. read more

I rarely leave reviews at retail stores but this one had to be left. I have never met a woman NICER than WENDY! She was greeting when I walked in and then later I found her stocking the trinkets and goodies at the front of the store. I asked her the price of an item and she gladly looked it up, and made conversation with me while doing so. CONNIE was my cashier and was so friendly and talkative to me about my purchases. They had a cashier call out so the line was almost reaching to the middle of the store (they were working on a replacement, and got Wendy on register once I reached checkout) but the workers were still SO CALM and kind regardless of the terribly long line and being short staffed. I found so many goods, and they have sales LEFT AND RIGHT. They were playing lovely Christian music (lowkey, very faint so that only believers would recognize it). I love hobby lobby! I love the variety hobby lobby has to offer and great sales they have from time to time. I was looking to get fabrics and the lady that came to help me was a real joy. She had an RBF face like yes even though we were wearing masks she acted like she didn't want to help me. She was giving me the biggest stink eye. She was acting like it was a pain to help me even though that is your job...to help customers. Then I went to go look at the ribbons and tulle spools and all she did was just watch me. Just stand there and stare. It was really awkward. She didn't say "anything I can help you with". Nope just acted like I was the most horrible customer or something and just stared. I thought maybe that is just how she is but you'd think she would have better customer service working in a customer service oriented job. Her name is Debbie by the way and she seems like she hates her job. But then someone else needed their fabrics cut and she was so nice to her. Not sure if that is because they're both more seasoned and older or because neither of them were a minority. anti everything. another customer literally went out of their way to tell me that. Meaning anti-gay, anti-blacks and jews, etc. there are always extremely long lines there which is fine. I understand that stores are understaffed. But when other employees are standing next to you talking and not doing their job it does get a little bit annoying to wait in this line for at least 45 minutes. I was just there and a woman literally had to ask for someone else to come up to the front in the nicest way and got a rude answer back from the manager. after waiting in line for so long, it was my turn and I had to return and purchase an item and they would not let me do both. Therefore I had to get back in line for another 45 minutes just because staff members were not willing to return my item when I bought another. Then they proceeded to tell me that I was supposed to go into the return line even though I was buying something? Have I mentioned that I love Hobby Lobby? Well, I do, the love is TRUE! I typically go to the Cactus location but when near Indian Bend, you better believe i'm stopping in here! I've also been known to go to both locations in one day. (Don't tell my husband!) Pro Tip: Before stepping foot in a Hobby Lobby, download their app! Not only is there a 40% off of one full price item coupon but it will also tell you which items are 50% off for the week. You guys, they literally have half of the store 50% off each week and it rotates every other. It is INSANE. So when we bought our house and I needed decor, I pretty much bought 90% of 'cute' things from here. They have GREAT art, candles, knick knacks, bowls, pillows, frames, lamps, mirrors, baskets, vases, etc. They even have some furniture. I made sure to check their app before I went so that the items I was looking for were 50% off each time. I literally got a GORGEOUS lamp and rustic wood mirror for 50% off. And when they're having their annual clearance, it is even better! Their decor always seems to be on trend as well, therefore, making me want to redecorate my home every time I step in! Another time Hobby Lobby was my best friend was when we were getting married and I was collecting decor for the wedding. We were doing a candy bar and I bought all of the glass dishes to put the candy in there for 50% off, I bought cute signs to scatter around the wedding, frames that matched our 'black and white stripe' theme, candles, and other fun things. And the NEXT time I know that Hobby Lobby and I will be best friends is when i'm decorating a baby's room! (No, there is no bun in the oven, i'm just saying)! I've been to this specific Hobby Lobby twice now. I like that it's next to a JoAnne's, that way if one store doesn't have what I need I can run to the other. Plus, the parking is decent but the entire plaza kind of seems deserted. Maybe that's why there's good parking? The inside is nice and clean. The layout is practically the same as the other Hobby Lobbies I've been to. I like that Hobby Lobbies have artsy-crafty stuff but also have home decorations and knickknacks. Everything is reasonably priced and I could browse the decorations for hours. Which I am sure is their evil intent, because the checkout line is always a mile long and there's only one employee that can help. I love browsing, but I hate making a purchase. Sometimes I only have one item and I'm dying to get out of the store, but nooo. I feel like I'm being held hostage by nice elderly folk. (It doesn't matter which location I've been to, all of them take forever to check out of.) There's always nice employees available to help you find something, which is great, but I wish they'd put more employees on the registers. That's really my only gripe, but it's one that makes me avoid Hobby Lobby unless I really need something that JoAnne's or Michael's can't provide. read more

I am Long term customers of hobby lobby. For over eight years! I am extremely concerned about the upper management that runs and facilitates this store; up to and including the flow of product, the employee training, the lack of personality and non-existence customer service, but to be completely honest it is to the point where my husband is meeting with lawyers to sue them for discrimination. He restores classic cars for a living and they threw him out claiming he was pulling a scam. We have spent over 25k in our showroom at hobby lobby in receipts. I'm not going to write anymore because if they wanted to make a change and treat their customers right, they should run their employees through corporate proper training and/or message me for additional details on how their store is violating multiple rules, laws, policies ect. Please review the footage from this evening. I'm curious what company policy is in regards to payment of POS (point of sale in store) transactions. I am writing in regards to the horrible customer checkout service at the Hobby Lobby Indian Bend store in Scottsdale AZ. This store simply does not care about providing a fast, efficient and easy customer check out experience. I was there on Saturday...they had one person checking people out. After ten minutes of waiting I approached what appeared to be the manager and asked if he had additional employees in the checkout process. He said he did but he wouldn't move them to the checkout area. He then looked at me and with a smirk face and with a high level of arrogance said; "have a nice day" and walked away. I'm definitely not the most creative person, and I'm not very "in the know" when it comes to the latest on pinterest, crafty home decor, etc... but I love admiring the work of my crafty friends and looking on etsy for handmade gems of all kinds. I didn't really know that Hobby Lobby existed until I was told to meet an acquaintance there a few days ago. She is helping me with designing some shirts for my kids and a bachelorette party I'm planning and wanted me to meet her to pick out fabric. I had to look up "Hobby Lobby" to see what it was, where it was, and in doing so, I checked out their website. "Where have I been," I'm asking myself. I learned that as of August 2013, Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. has 550 stores in 44 states and is one of America's fastest growing arts and crafts chains. Well, now I know! And upon stepping foot into this HL location, I see why! It's a crafty person's wonderland! Not only does HL carry fabric, but they have seasonal stuff, paper and cards, all kinds of crafts, frames, bags and containers, home accents, string, yarn, ribbon, jewelry, home accents, and so much more. If I weren't going to meet a friend in the fabric section, my head would have been spinning with all of the different offerings here. The employees on staff were friendly enough and prices seemed reasonable. If and when I am in the market again for some arts and crafts, I would consider returning to Hobby Lobby, but I'll probably need to give myself more time to explore this massive warehouse of a store. I have been to hobby lobby at 4 different locations in Scottsdale , Tempe , and I will say without a doubt I'm never going back there ! Absolute horrible customer service , nobody knows where anything is in the store , or regardless could care less to help , and management is just horrible , similar to the toilet in the picture . Talk about walking around for 30 minutes asking maybe 4 employees where the basketball card sleeves were only to sit in a 2 person line and watch in the course of 15 mins , 3 lines open up and I just sat there while a long return went through , clearly not getting help . And to make matters worse this impacted my job . When asked to speak to John , his response as a manager was , not my problem , line to the left . There were 8 people in one line, the cashier called for back up while trying to deal with a difficult customer, she was told there was nobody available. They sale fabric too if you want to go that route. Many places do not sale this anyone. The store was clean and organized. You do not feel overwhelmed when waking In to the store. THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL AND CURSING AT A CUSTOMER!!!!!! I try to avoid Hobby Lobby at all costs due to the company morals, but I have been on a mission to get something for my Halloween costume. While looking at the clothes section, I began to hear yelling between a customer and (what I am assuming) a manager. The manager told the customer to "get the f**k out of my store" and forcibly made the customer to get out. I decided to leave after hearing this and semi followed them outside. Once the customer was outside, the manager continued to yell after the customer saying "go home to no one, you have no one, and are a no one". While I understand there are circumstances to make a customer leave, there is NO need to speak to another person that way. I had found a shelf along with other cute items that I was going to use a coupon I found online for hobby lobby, once I got to the checkout the customer in front of me was having problems with the cashier (her name was caitlyn) she was being so rude to her customer. Once I got up I tried to use my coupon... I guess they don't use coupons anymore (which is fine) but I was a little confused why I had a hobby lobby coupon that expires the next day. Then she pointed out that there was a chip in the shelf I grabbed and I said "oh is there another one and if not can I get a discount?" She proceeded to say yes if there wasn't another one. I think back to all the missed times Hobby Lobby could have come to my rescue but alas, I didn't get the memo that they were just this cool. Hobby Lobby is way more than just a crafting store. It's more like a home decor shop, accessory store, craft store and helpful anytime you need any sort of nick knack for your home. Whether it's fun signs for your wall, wooden boxes for decoration, or fabric and art supplies, Hobby Lobby serves as a one stop shop. This was my first time to this Hobby Lobby and probably my last. The place is HUGE, so you can expect newbies (like me) to get lost. I was looking for a certain type of clay, but I just couldn't find it. After wandering for about 30 minutes, I decided I should just ask an employee. Believe me, every time I ask an employee for help in a store I feel like I'm pestering him/her, so I try to ask for help as little as possible. This time I just couldn't find the clay! So eventually I found an employee and politely asked her where I could find the clay I was looking for. She acted really tired, I guess I couldn't blame her considering it was around 2 pm on Black Friday. But then, she gave me a look; like she wanted to roll her eyes at me! She let out a huge sigh and simply said, "Follow me." After being led through the aisles (with numberous stops along the way for her to fix out of place items) she went up to ANOTHER employee and ASKED HER where the type of clay was. The other, much friendlier, employee said she knew where it was. The 1st employee then lazily said, "Follow her." ....yeah, I didn't dare say "thank you". Luckily, the other friendly employee lead me directly to the clay section I was looking for. I thanked her and started browsing the clay. Ugh...They DIDN'T even HAVE the clay I was looking for. They have a great selection of decor items and all of it is very reasonably priced (especially when you have a coupon or they are running a sale.) I've tried to avoid coming here, preferring instead their main competitor but I needed some additional stickers for a scrapbook project for my newly engaged niece so stopped in. First time was definitely the last time. I asked where to find the section I needed and was waved to a vague area in the back of the store where I walked around aimlessly until I found a more helpful staffer who pointed me in the direction of a few aisles for this dedicated project. The first thing that struck me was the limited selection of stickers - and by that I mean a largely one size fits all religious theme. I thought Hobby Lobby had been made aware of being more diversified in their outlook although I do have to say I felt I was walking through a Mega Church in practically every direction I turned. That alone was a major turn off when looking for crafts. As was the one singular cashier for the many people waiting on line to check out. In general, not my cuppa shopping tea. read more
