Limited selection of model brands. They did have some friendly staff a while back, but they seemed to have left. Probably will be shopping at the Richmond location for items that are needed in a hurry or from Amazon now on. read more

Like a ton of people have already stated their prices are incredibly high. They do have a large selection for trains, games, gundams, and rc cars. If you're buying from here be cautious and look it up to make sure it's a fair price before purchasing. It's fun to browse and look at all the different parts, and models they have however so definitely take a look if you're around. read more

I was curious about RC Cars so I went here for the first time a couple weeks ago and it was great. The man behind the counter Tracy was really awesome and happy to help me look around and ask questions. However when I came back it wasn't a good experience. Hobby Town has a nice assortment of stuff to check out for the model enthusiast--from model planes to remote control helicopters, from model railroads to paints and crafts tools, from science and educational things to working model rockets. Walking in here definitely reminds me of being of a kid, and I can definitely recommend the place to anyone with inquisitive children. read more

This place stinks! The employees are rude and could careless to help out anyone! They offer limited options for modelers. As well, when asked if they could order an item they state they can't! One employee advised me to check out an online non Hobby Town sight! Don't waste your time or money here! Want a great place for modeling? Travel 5 minutes away to Denbigh Hobby, corner of Warwick and Denbigh! This store is strictly for modelers! They have lots of cool stuff but most of their rc parts are very expensive. I dont understand why, I just rather go there to look around and see what I want and order it off the internet, saving lots of money even with shipping. Its a shame that lots of their stuff is marked up so high. read more

DO NOT...I REPEAT DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE! Hobby Town does not guarantee any of the garbage they sell in their store. We went in and bought a drone...got it home and one propeller did not work. Took it back the very next day and had to almost argue to get them to exchange it out for another one. Got the other one home. Flew it one day for 15 minutes and the very next day...only one propeller worked. At this point we were fed up, we wanted our money back. HA! They refused to give us our money back and after threating to file a small claims judgement, they exchanged it for another. These drones they sell are from China and can be purchased on eBay for half the amount. You got us this time Hobby Town, but never again will I spend a dollar in your store. And everyone I can speak with I will also tell them about your horrible products and service. Crooks....Hobby Town is full of crooks. read more

Buyer Beware! I should have trusted my instincts about buying from this company. I was trying to decide between a Parrot Drone or one that this company sells. The sales kid told me that the Ares Ethos FPV ($300) was better then the Parrot and I could get more supplies from them for the copter. I asked about extra batteries and was assured I could buy extras but they were out of stock. This was a Christmas present and the 1 battery gives 11 minutes of flight time! The week after Christmas I was told they don't have the batteries and had no idea when they would come in, check back later. A few days later, still no luck. I was told to "go to a Chinese" website and try to order I may have better luck! Could not find the website. Went to another store and was told they have no idea when batteries would be available. I then tried to use the website (Hobbytown) but it's down! I tried to call customer support but was told it is handled by an answering service! NOT STAFFED by the company! I tried pushing random button on the corporate 800 number and finally got someone. He said he would check into it and 3 hours later called me to tell me that they were out of batteries. Nothing would be in for at least another month! I was welcome to call the store and see what they could do! I told him I had been in the stores multiple times and was essentially laughed at for asking for batteries; "everybody looking for those! we have no idea when we'll get them!". He finally connected me to a nice person in the warehouse who suggested that I was wrong to "call Walmart because my TV was not working!". I corrected him and said if I had been lucky enough to have bought this from Walmart I would have just returned it! Can't do that with Hobbytown! But believe it or not the warehouse guy actually asked if I had checked any other Hobbytowns! I could not because they don't have a working website/ebay / Amazon store. He checked for me and found my batteries at a store in my state! The store in my state will not take phone orders and they don't have a working web site! I feel like I was suckered into buying a $300 toy that I can't return nor can I buy accessories. The store personnel were rude and seemed to have little empathy for my position. I would be very careful about buying from this company. Go to Bestbuy, Amazon or Ebay at least you will have the ability to return a bad product. Hobbytown, you got me once but I will make sure to tell as many people as I can about my experience and you will never get me again! read more
