I hired Sol Tile and Coping, a Subsidiary of Hobert Pools and the owner of Sol Tile and Coping is the GM of Hobert pools to re-plaster my pool. The bid was very competitive and they were recommended by a friend. They re-plastered my pool in February 2016 and it had all sorts of cracks. Sol came back out after many phones calls and emails to re-plaster my pool and honor the warranty in July of 2016. They have not returned calls and made it a struggle to schedule. They also still owe me money for putting salt back in the pool and a filter flush because of the remodel. The communication is terrible with this company, they will promise you many things and give little follow up. As of September I am starting to notice long streak lines in the re-plaster job and discoloration in the Hot Tub. I would not recommend this company. read more

We have been with Hobert for several years and actually bought and built our pool with Hobert. We recently had a part go out that we replaced less than a year ago. Hobert told us we never bought the part, yet we had a receipt from Hobert. Hobert failed to honor the warranty and when we questioned them we were yelled at. The service department management is not friendly. We switched service companies due to this very bad experience. read more

DO NOT for any reason use Hobert Pools. Communication Communication Communication does not exist within Hobert Pools. My pool was somewhat finished in Nov of 2015. I'm still trying to get things repaired/fixed since Nov with just excuse after excuse. * I asked very very clearly before contract was signed will I be able to control everything from my phone except for deck jets and bubbler and answer was yes - not correct and they had to add a manual switch for the blower - not happy about this * Window Heater Distance - Wasn't measured correctly so was required to seal off a window - This should have been caught and brought up before contract was signed * Gas company that Hobert uses argued with me on fixing 3 sprinkler lines they cut and after realizing it was their fault they fixed it * Copping company that Hobert uses got lazy at end of project and laid down stone that didn't match rest of pool in most noticeable place * Copping company tried to stain stone which didn't work nor would last anyway after asking it to be replaced * RB electric which Hobert ran new electric line which I paid 1500 dollars and didn't move it far enough towards fence * Was charged additional 200 dollars for Flagstone on Hoberts decision to raise spa with gunite without my approval ahead of time * Very slow or no response from Hobert mostly from the project coordinator- even if someone is out sick someone should be checking and replying to the scheduler@hobertpools.com and not have the customer wait for responses * Wasn't told about fence latch needing to be moved until after the fence was installed * Wasn't told about additional alarm purchase required by city until last inspection - Not sure if this is new requirement but was never asked by city about it. My neighbor got his pool installed last year and this wasn't require in Richardson * There were no plans for drainage on deck pool and I had to recommend a drain put in * Paid additional money to have outlet installed in back corner and RB told me they wouldn't install it because needed to be 10 feet away instead of 5 feet away - After calling Hobert and RB calling his boss they finally installed it. * Umbrella cap was suppose to be further out on sun deck but they ended up putting right next to bubbler. * One of the crews left wood and nails in driveway and my wife got a nail in her car. I personally think each crew should clean up their own stuff but when you're working with nails they should defiantly be picked up before leaving the job. I also had to walk the yard to pick up nails in yard. I have 2 dogs and 2 young boys that don't need nails in their feet. * Was told on several occasions would have temporary fence put up but even after asking was never put up and in 1 case our dog got out and took over two hours to find him. * Was told we were waiting on city to inspect for pre plaster several times and come to find out they had already inspected almost a week earlier, communication issue with project coordinator out sick and no backup * Since the "Completion" of the pool I have been promised for months that the copping, tile and end cap would be fixed and nothing since November of 2015. I have called and asked to speak to the owner of Hobert pools for 3-4 weeks now with no response and when i call they have excuses. read more

We DO NOT recommend using this company for service. Booked Hobert Service, via Sherri, to install my new Pentair pump. Booked for a Monday morning. Monday came & went & nobody showed up. I called Sherri to inquire as to what happened. She said her records showed Monday but the service tech, Tim moved the time to the next day and apparently didn't inform anyone. Bad communication between employees and no communication to inform the customer. I wasted a whole morning waiting. The guy comes the next day and installed the pump. When I got the bill, it was twice the amount that Sherri said it would be. When questioned she conveniently didn't remember quoting an hour based on my description of the simple pump install. The bill was for 2 hours. After inspecting the job I found that Tim, the installer, had also re-attached our broken ozone generator, which nobody asked him to do, and hauled away our old pump, also which nobody asked him to do. We understand the pump has some salvage parts value. The old pump was returned and we paid the overpriced bill. Despite the problems with this installer, we booked Hobert again since Sherri was nice about the prior mistakes. This time we booked them to install our new Pentair control system. Spoke to Sherri, and booked the appointment for a Wednesday morning. After waiting around for half the morning I called to inquire what was going on. Sherri was nice again and confirmed that she had the booking set for the morning and would check with the installer, once again Tim, to see what was going on. Tim calls me 15 minutes or so later to very curtly state that he would be here this afternoon! I told him that was unacceptable and that I had planned my day for the install to happen this morning with me supervising this time as Sherri promised. I also told him that this was the second time he has wasted my time by not communicating with the person booking his appointments. He said something very gruff and unprofessional and hung up on me. I called Sherri to let her know that I didn't appreciate Tim's unprofessional attitude and that I would never be using Hobert again. And I won't. Again I wasted a whole morning waiting. Respecting your customer's time is a thing Hobert needs to study up on. Also communication. read more

Quoted a price to complete repair that did not include labor ($700). Actual cost was $200 more ($900) due to the labor charge. When called back to say the hot tub (undergone repair) not operational, Hobert representative said it was their practice to not include labor in repair quotes. This individual then argued non-stop instead of agreeing to come back out and complete repair. HORRIBLE customer service - I now understand poor Yelp rating. We had them service our pool for a year or two and they actually did a decent job with that, but I will not use them again. read more

My pool pump would not prime. I called Hobert and scheduled an appointment for a technician. He came out and after a cursory look said the problem was that the filter was clogged and he left. I called Leslies Pool and they sent out a technician to clean the filter. He said the filter was fine. The problem was a $12 set of O-rings on the inlet valve. He replaced the O-rings and it works fine. I called Hobert to complain and have yet to actually talk to anyone except an answering machine. read more

We recently had a pool put in by Hobert and while it is a scary, stressful and crazy process it turned out better than we could have even imagined. In the busiest part of summer with an unusually heavy amount of rain, they got the whole thing done in just at 11 weeks and the only way that happened was with the amazing scheduling by Christina. No matter if we were flying through the process as we did in the first several weeks for fighting through the never-ending rain delays, Christina always kept us informed and I truly feel she did everything in her power to make things happen as quickly as possible. The design process with Hobert was so smooth and simple. Michael took our initial design and optimized it so we got every feature we could squeeze into our budget and tweaked every curve to our exact vision. He turned our crazy idea of a free form pool set in a square patio, into an amazingly beautiful work of art in our back yard. He also saw us through the painstaking initial permitting process with the City of Frisco. We were so lucky to have Aaron as our construction manager. He outlined the entire process at the start so we knew what to expect and when. Throughout the build he fully answered every question, no matter how seemly stupid. He would even hang around as long as it took to make sure all of our questions were answered even when I know he had other places to be. The very first weekend we had water in the pool was a holiday weekend. We were having people over for a party and could not figure out how to get the pool filter to run. I texted both Aaron and Christina, and amazingly they both responded, even though it was a holiday weekend. Turned out we just needed to add water to the pool but Christina even called to ensure we were up and running. Simply outstanding customer service. We have had a few minor issues since completion and Sherri, Nate, Byron and the entire service department have responded an resolved all the issues and answered all the questions we have had. In fact, during the first service call, Tim took so much time answering all our questions that had arisen since the end of construction. Even though he was only there for a minor repair he stuck around and gave us a 2nd pool school, walking us through the entire maintenance process and refreshing our memory of everything we learned from Byron the first go around. Because we received such great service in the build process, we chose to continue with Hobert for our weekly servicing. Jose has been out a couple of times already and always leaves us a healthy and sparkling pool saving us time and allowing us to enjoy the fun of the pool without the not so fun work. Having a pool put in is so much messier, stressful, frustrating and amazing than you can imagine. Throughout the entire process from the first dig to the last piece of sod, Christina was our rock. I don't think we would have made it through with our sanity without her keeping us constantly informed. Night or day, weekends and holidays she was always there for us. Delays are going to happen on any project, but knowing Christina was hard at work to move things along as fast as possible and keeping us up to date, was a huge comfort in the most disappointing of times. Bottom line, stunning pool, wonderful customer service, and amazing communication! I highly recommend Hobert Pools. read more

We are very pleased with our new Hobert pool! We chose Hobert because it was a family business that had been in the Dallas area for many years. They proved why! Pretty much every step in the process was painless. We had a small space to work with, Terry listened to what we wanted and came back with a great design. Best of all they take care of all the details and paperwork. The office staff is friendly and professional, they stayed in constant contact with us during the various phases of construction. After researching a couple of pool companies in order to find the best business to build my pool, I chose Hobert Pools because of their "lifetime no leak" warranty they offered with their product. WELL, my brand new pool cracked after just a few months. I contacted Hobert and they sent a repairman out to "fix" the crack. All this guy did was put putty in the crack to help the appearance. I asked Hobert at that time about their no leak warranty and they told me it was not leaking and that they had fixed the problem. A few years later that crack grew from just a few feet in length to the entire length of the pool. Several other cracks also appeared and it was obvious that the pool was loosing water now. They sent an older gentleman out to look at the cracks and he said that the gunite was probably cracked and that Holbert would eventually take care of their product even though we were now going through drought conditions. Hobert stopped the leak again by filling all the cracks with some sort of putty. WELL, a few years later and cracks have grown even worse Hobert is blaming it all on the ground movement and will not warrant their product. EVEN THOUGH THE ORIGINAL CRACK SHOWED UP JUST A FEW MONTHS AFTER THE POOL WAS FINISHED, AND WE WERE NOT IN DROUGHT CONDITIONS AT THAT TIME. I feel ripped off by Hobert because all they did was put a bandaid on the problem, instead of addressing the cracked gunite. NOW they tell me the pool needs to be remodeled (replastered) but will probably crack again. YOU THINK? Just wanted to warn anyone to avoid Hobert Pools if you want a quality pool. read more
