Called trying to make an appointment before the holidays and talked to Joe. Said he was clear all day an to come in, asked again for an appointment so I have the time reserved, but again said no. When I got in, saw Joe right away and was going well until 90 seconds into my haircut when someone who seemed to be Joes friend walked in and Joe said he would be right with him. He then rushed through my haircut and had me in and out of there in under 5 minutes. Haircut was obviously terrible because he spent all of 5 minutes cutting my hair, had to go to somewhere else to get it fixed. The barber, Joe, spent 15 minutes cutting my hair, had nicked the back of my neck with his razor (it happens, not a big deal), but when I got home, my hair was cut very unevenly with random uncut hair all over the place, especially in the back of my head. I'll give the benefit of the doubt that I could have been more thorough during the review, but the haircut felt like it was done without care. read more

This was a pretty bad experience. I went in today for a simple haircut. I asked my hair to be cut 1/2 inches. That's it. Instead, the barber took the initiative to completely shorten the sides without asking me anything. The worst came later. The barber asked if I wanted him to take care of the goatee as well. I said yes, expecting a short trim. This process took 40 minutes. What started as trimming the goatee extended into a long skin care session, with multiple creams put on my face. At no point my consent was asked. The most ridiculous thing was the price. Since the barber never asked if I wanted skincare/massage, I assumed it was complimentary. When I saw the pricetag, I was shocked. I ended up paying 80 dollars for a simple haircut. This is an UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICE! Since I work at a local company, I will let all of my colleagues know of this incidence so that they don't have to go through the same thing. An absolutely horrible experience. Had my hair done by Chuy, did a really good job on the fade. A bit more than expected in terms of pricing but not too much. A little aggression with the clippers , I am assuming that was necessary for the fade because it sure did seem to hurt. read more

My 11 year old daughter developed a monster knot. I swear this thing had tentacles! I worked on it for four hours and still could not get It out. My husband went in for a haircut with Joe and I asked him to recommend someone that could cut my daughter's hair. He said he would take care of it. It took 45 minutes. He was so sweet and gentle with her. She called him the "Jesus of haircutters". My husband always gets great cuts and the way Joe treated my daughter speaks volumes. Being new to the area, finding a new barbershop is one of the most unpredictable experiences. I was actually supposed to go to a different shop but it was closed that day and I was in dire need of a fresh cut. Luckily, Joe was available on a Sunday afternoon and took care of me. The chair was comfy and I barely had to say anything to Joe, he knew how to make my hair look good. My first experience here was fantastic. Really excellent so made sure to book an appt with the same barber. Arrived 5 minutes early and was told I had to go to chair 4, not the barber I reserved. If you do not get the barber you made an appointment with leave ASAP. I took a chance with Hoboken Barbershop and I have to say that Christian Sosa gave me one of the best haircuts ever. He was totally professional in explaining the rationale on every cut, kept the process quick and was very pleasant in his demeanor. While they were cutting my hair they kept whispering under their breath racist obscenities and then they would look at me as if expecting me to agree. Made an appointment on Monday morning for a Thursday night haircut and beard with ace at 7pm.. called at 6pm on Thursday to confirm and he said to come at 6:45pm. Came and was left sitting there till 7:30, no acknowledgement of my existence until he comes by and says what kind of haircut do you want I'm behind. Well, when your wife says you got a really bad haircut, I think you probably did. This is not my usual spot but I couldn't get an appointment at my regular barber, and decided to give this one a try. No appointments are necessary, I just walked in, waited in a chair for about 10 minutes and then moved to the barber chair. I thought that was a little strange, because my other barber only lets the customer in the store. I thought that was the rule during Covid. Anyhow, I asked for a trim, with the sides tapered and and for not much to be cut off the top. Let's just say I got chopped. Not sure of the barbers name, maybe it was John or Paul, he didn't really great me and he certainly wasn't Mr. personality. Live and learn. read more

I went there on my fiancé's recommendation. The hair cut was 15 mins and they didn't even do a good job at clean up. I have never gone back to this place simply because the service was terrible.
