The place is seriously solid and reasonable compared to all the other options on the island. We liked the food so much, that we decided to comeback a couple of days later tor try out some of the other options. The restaurant is a bit small and when we were there it was drizzling so we didn't bother sitting in the outside area. The owner was friendly enough and told us that there was a small secluded area nearby that had a great view of the ocean with a picnic table we could eat at if we wanted a view, so we took her up on her recommendation. It was definitely perfect to sit in tranquility and enjoy our delicious food. Out of the lobster rolls we've had these were our favorite and for our random quesadilla purchases, she did not skimp out on the meat when making them! we were truly surprised! Everything was yummy especially the "special" crab dip that was on sale the second time we came by. This place does not hold back on the ingredients. We also discovered we preferred the lobster bisque here over the lobster stew that other places were selling. If/when we ever return, we'll definitely stop here to get our shellfish fix!

10/10! We were visiting the island and looking for an authentic place for some really fresh, really tasty seafood - and Hodgdon's exceeded our expectations! We arrived a little late after they closed but since one of the pots hadn't been cleaned for the evening yet, they didn't turn us away. And I'm so grateful for it! You can tell the family that owns this establishment really cares about their customers and the quality of the food. We loved it so much that we came back for lunch the next day. These were by far one of the best tasting and most memorable family road-trip meals! Pro-tip: Order for takeout and bring the food around the corner to eat at the picnic tables at Seal Cove for a waterfront dining experience.

Hodgdon's Seafood doesn't sell pie. THEY SELL SEAFOOD. And it's the best seafood on the island. The lobster rolls are to die for, and the crab rolls are even better. The fish is fresh. So fresh. The mussels are amazing. The lobsters, oh my gosh. We always pick up a few extra to take home, pack them well with the ice on the bottom of the cooler, then the newspaper, then the lobster. They'll travel just fine. Mike and Sue are real sweethearts, and go out of their way to make everyone feel at home. But they don't sell pie. They sell SEAFOOD.

Excellent Maine Shore dinner without the clam chowder because lobster, crab, steamers and mussels is enough for me.

Do they close for the season? If so when?

Not sure when, but they do close for the season. We think that they are open this week, from 4-6pm. Those were their hours last week. Good luck!

Rich is nothin' much to look at, but you're not there for the ambiance! So, don't be deterred by the run-down feel of the place. It's a working fishing warehouse with huge lobster tanks in the back. I saw this place when we first got to Maine and never forgot about it because I am a giant soft serve fan and they boast 24 different flavors of soft serve!!!! This was our 4th and last stop on our Maine Ice Cream Trek and it did not disappoint. After very long and drawn out deliberation, I decided to try the English Toffee flavor and my wife got the Dragon's Blood soft serve flavor. Both were so good but that Dragon's Blood was out of this world!! I had never had the flavor before and it blew my mind. We also got fries to make sure we made it home to eat and they were the best fries we had in Maine for our entire trip and my wife LOVES fries so that's a very nice compliment. We almost ordered a second serving. There is plenty of covered seating outside but no inside seating so it gave a well catered picnic vibe. I will say it was hard for us to find because the map didn't realize where it was. We had to drive around a bit to find it but it's next to the gas station/convenience store that Maps takes you to. I would absolutely go out of my way to go to Seaside Dairy Bar the next time we're in Maine. It's well worth it!
