I needed glass shelves and a custom shower door. The person that we talked to understood what we needed (ADA door) really knew her stuff. She asked all the right questions and was able to answer ours. We also got a quote (estimate) right on the spot. We used Hodges for glass replacement on. Underpins windows throughout our home. I was able to easily schedule an appointment for an estimate. We received a quote we felt was fair and decided to move forward. The windows in our home have "wavy" glass and this is something they were able to order and put in. Our tech was also able to fix a weight in one of our windows that was not working properly. The process itself the day of the job was pretty seamless. Each individual piece of glass was removed and the new piece was applied. We were given instruction regarding how to care for the glass while it was setting and when we could clean the glass. We also learned about ways to maintain the windows since they are original to keep their quality in place. I'd recommend Hodges for glass work. I am very pleased with the customer service, and the quality and speed of the work done by Hodges. I needed two window panes replaced in two different interior doors, including a large single pane in a hundred-year-old historic wooden door that I definitely wanted to preserve. I worked with Erin in the office by email and phone to get a preliminary estimate range, and later to schedule time for technicians to come out and do exact measurements and give precise quote. The two technicians, Carmelo and Javier, were timely, courteous and professional. After measuring everything, they gave me two options, one of which included same-day installation (even though I was previously told I'd likely have to wait 1-2 weeks for a custom order to come in) with better and more durable materials at a reasonable extra cost. Upon my agreement, they left and were back in just over two hours with the two pieces of glass, finishing the job quickly, efficiently, and neatly, and preserving the integrity of both doors. Between showing up on time to do the estimate, to finishing the work and departing: less than three hours. THIS is how a business ought to be run. If I could give Hodges Window & Glass 10 stars, I would. I will never go anywhere else for glass and window repair. Here is the backstory. I have been in the home improvement business for 40 years. A client sold their home in Baltimore and needed a punchlist of work completed. I was down to 1 thing on the list. Replace a leaking thermal pane of glass 22" x 32". I needed the glass FAST. My business is mostly concentrated in Montgomery County, so I was unfamiliar with Baltimore area glass companies. I found Hodges and called at 4:30 on a Thursday night. Jackie took my order for one thermal pane over the phone and said it would be done in the morning. She offered to install the glass in the frame at no extra cost, if I would bring in the frame. Stupidly, I declined her offer. (I am a professional after all.) The next day I picked up the glass as planned. I chit-chatted with Jackie while Tim handled my transaction. A debonair gentleman (John) with a welcoming smile oversaw everything. My client's closing is on Thursday... that's tomorrow...so! I would install the glass first thing Monday morning. Of course, on Monday, I broke the glass while installing it! At 2:00 in the afternoon, I sheepishly returned to Hodges Window & Glass...WITH THE FRAME this time. I was treated fantastically. Tim took care of me again. Jackie reassured me that breakage happens...AND that they would cut me a break on this second piece of glass, which they did. John smiled his smile. Tim said they would get the window repaired between 3:00 and 4:00. At 3:30, Tim called. Everything went off without a hitch. They delivered on their workmanship and their professionalism. The window is repaired. Closing is set for tomorrow. Hodges Window and Glass made me look like a hero. But, THEY are the real heros. Loved that the technician (Ever is the best!) showed up in a mask and got the job done quickly and perfectly. Landlord of many many properties always uses Hodges Screen repair. I called on my behalf because my dog is the who chewed through it. Tom came out at the specified time frame, we talked out the best options. Not even 5 minutes after left a femine guy called to say it would be repaired in 2 weeks? Why 2 weeks. I live a mile down the road rescreen it & be done with it. Femine dude-ette did not like my rational, as last season they came out to rescreen them at my home,, I'm sure they are not that crazy busy, dudette just didn't like it so his so "called manager (not the owner I asked for) Saying that couldn't accomplish me needs. They came to fix a bedroom window. Said that the frame had settled so the persistent movement of the window after this "repair" was normal & the window wouldn't come off the track. It did. Another "repair" was made while they were there...When I opened it again, it is still broken. $160.00 down the drain since I was told no guarantee for balance replacement. A waste of money. Parking is a little tricky directly in front of the building, so it's best to park on the side. This is my first yelp review. I have never received such rude and unprofessional service from a business so I feel a responsibility to let others and hopefully the owners know. One of the owners (Brian) came out to my home in the spring and repaired several windows. I was happy with the work, customer service, and reasonable price. While Brian was at my home I asked him what he thought about about a screen door for one of my patio doors. He suggested a Clearview screen door which they also install. I was excited they could do this for me. Someone came out the end of July to do some measurements of the door and he told me that Jasmin? would follow up with me with a quote. After not hearing from anyone for 2 weeks, I followed up with them. The person who picked up the phone took my name/info and said someone would call me back. This same scenario occurred for the next 4 weeks because no one ever called me back so I would call them the next week. Finally when I called on 9/5/2018 at 3:12pm I got smart and asked the person who I was speaking to their name so if they didn't call back, I had a record of who I spoke with. Natasha promised to follow up with me. Today is 9/13/2018, more than a week from when I last called, and still no follow up so of course I call them. I ask for Natasha because luckily I asked for her name last week. The first thing she says is that she has tried to text and call me. I double check my phone and text messages and see no missed calls, voicemails, or text messages from this company. I confirm she has the correct number for me (which she does). But I am positive she did NOT attempt to call or text me. She also precedes to tell me that there is no way I called every week for 4-5 weeks without follow up because she asked some of the people in the office and "not that many people work here." Why would I lie about something like that? Why would you accuse a customer of lying? My measurement appointment was on July 25th and today is September 13th. I still don't have a quote in hand for the work. I asked a few more questions about some other things we discussed last week and every answer was so rude and condescending. I've never been treated so unprofessionally by someone in a retail business. I calmly asked if she could have Brian call me (one of the owners who originally came to my house and was very professional). She quickly said bye and HUNG UP on me. Obviously this establishment does not want my business. Why would anyone treat customers this way? Why have a business if this is how you treat customers? Maybe they are racist as someone else in a recent review also mentions. It's disappointing because I was hoping I found a local window and screen repair company I could call for all of my window and screen needs. I called in and spoke to someone they gave me a ridiculous price for them to come out and look at my window told me if I brought it in ... it would be much cheaper. Replaced the foggy double pane glass in one of my slider windows with their double pane product. They measured and quoted on first visit, then arrived with the glass to install. Process was painless and very cost effective. John explained why I didn't need to use argon filled double pane glass based on new materials now available for glass sealing. I was so disappointed with this company. I made an appointment (1.5 weeks out, due to their availability) for an estimate. The person who can out to complete the estimate was very nice and said someone would call me with the price. They did call and I asked them for prices for another type of glass than the standard. They said they would call me back and they did not, so I followed up with another call. I then scheduled a time to have my window replaced, asked if I needed to pay first so they could order the window (the first person said I would need to pay first) and was told "no" and that technician who would be replacing the window could take care of payment. On the day they were scheduled to come (rearranged my schedule to meet them) I got a call from them asking if I was going to move forward with the window replacement. They hadn't ordered the window! They said they didn't order it because they didn't receive payment. They also had no record of that day's appointment. They had taken my window grids (to match color) and I asked when they could drop them back off to me. They said I could drive out to them to pick them up. They ended up mailing them to me. I was furious and decided to go with another company. read more

Just called and was told that despite the fact that the job is within their 25 mile radius "they just don't go there." And it took me 8 days to find that out. I am disappointed. After a lot of back and forth, we decided that we would cut our losses with Hodges when they would replace the back patio slider, as it was WRITTEN on our contract. They replaced it, and less than a month later, there is a seal issue. They said they would charge me $120 to come out and diagnose it at this point. They said they will NOT warranty the slider.
