Instead of just "making it work" or creating a huge mess with drywall dust, Zach proposed a brilliant custom solution: building a clean birch veneer box with custom trim. It looks stunning and kept my house completely dust-free. What impressed me most was Zach's integrity. During the install, a small piece of my old plastic molding snapped. Instead of ignoring it, Zach took full ownership and replaced the trim on both skylights with upgraded foam-backed wood molding at his own expense to ensure everything was airtight and uniform. It is not a simple fix but an upgrade, for free. See the attached before/after pictures and the broken plastic. Like most customers, I contacted a few contractors before selecting Winfield Builders. I did not decide on contracting the company for my roofing and siding projects as I found another company with the same materials used and did the job for less then this company quoted. I decided in May 2025 to go with this company for my window project that included 13 double hinged windows and 1 picture window. After signing the contract, I was informed that I would be receiving a contact over the weekend for a foreman to come out and do official window measurements for the ordering of the windows. I was called on Wednesday of the following week by a gentleman only to say " I am 20 minutes out from you." I didnt understand how he decided to just impose and not make contact prior to set up an appointment as I was told was to happen. This was the beginning of red flags. However, we made it work out as I work and was not available for this impromptu measuring. On June 12, 2025 I was phoned to alert of my windows were coming in and to set up installation appointment. I settled for June 16, 2025 starting at 8am, if weather permits. I took off of work and had all window blinds/ covering down and furniture moved 2 ft away from windows as instructed; this was a lot of work. On 6/16/25 at approximately 945ish am I received a call from a female whom informed me that the installation had to be cancelled for the date as its raining. My issue with this situation was that the company (humans) knew that it was going to rain in the beginning couple hours of the morning and could have cancelled over the weekend to be considerate of my time and not have me sitting around the house using leave from work unnecessarily; the weather forecast is online. In addition, I had to get the window coverings put back up for security and privacy. The installation occurred on 6/24/25. The company had a crew that came out whom seemed okay. I had to request that they use foot coverings; this should be a requirement and something I did not need to ask. They started upstairs in the bedrooms. They placed covering on the beds. However while working they placed tools and water bottles on my wood furniture, which was a NO NO. I didnt understand the lack of respect for my property. The crew removed old windows that were put in when the house was built 30 years ago. As they installed I noticed the windows had about a 2-3 in gap all around. That was quite alarming if the windows were measured correctly. They sprayed foam as I was explained in the gaps but NEVER pur window flashing up as I was told they would. They put caulk up only. The caulking was very messing and large amounts on my newly replaced siding. Thet also cracked the siding on the rear by the light fixture. By using the ladder and thumping it harshly up against the house; assuming it was too heavy for onw person to move creating the behavior. With that created divets in my composite front bump out with ladder prints from the cross bar type thing attached to the ladder on multiple areas. Also they didnt clean up their mess. I called after they finishes to alert of issues. It took me a couple times and then I got one of the workers that came out. Then the owner. I was not too pleased with the owner as he rushed and overspoke me as ig I dont know what to look for and wasnt very pleasant and condescending. After speaking with the owner he came out tje following Monday. And later that afternoon it rained and water poured from the front bumpout kitchen window. I called owner back on facetime so he could see the activity. The owner came out the nexr day with the crew. He walked around and said the wimdow job looks nice but never addressed my window flashing issue. However the leaking window was due to the seals around the composite bump out beinh pushed and detached; consistent with the ladder pressing on it as stated prior. The crew damaged the window metal frame and caulked it in the living room. It was never corrected or fixed. It was brought to the owners attention as well. The crew resealed the areas. The messy caulk on the back and siding, the crew actually cleaned it up the day of the window installation. The crew left dirty hand prints on my white bedroom dresser and on the walls bear bedroom front window. The crew cut out areas of my window ledge and caulked over it and it was never correctes after bringing it to owners attention. Also all stickers and hand prints were left on windows. This should have been cleaned up. The crew did not clean up their mess as I was promised. Because of my experience with the seemingly condescending attitude and over and quick talking I will not be able to give a rating higher then a 3.

I hired Liberty Windows & Siding for a large exterior renovation project that included siding,…read morewindows, doors, gutters, and a portico. I selected Liberty largely based on representations that the work would be performed by in-house crews rather than subcontractors, and that quality workmanship was a priority. Unfortunately, the project did not meet those expectations. The initial installation resulted in widespread workmanship deficiencies, including improper siding installation, flashing issues, trim defects, and other items later documented by both an independent inspector and a manufacturer representative. As a result, Liberty had to remove and reinstall significant portions of the work. While Liberty ultimately undertook remediation, the process was prolonged, difficult to manage, and required extensive homeowner oversight. Remediation details were not consistently documented in writing, work was at times scheduled or attempted without prior coordination, and key quality-control steps, such as clear verification milestones and final walkthrough procedures, had to be repeatedly requested. Even after remediation, there were disputes regarding scope reductions, credits, and whether the project could be considered complete without a formal walkthrough and customer acceptance. I incurred additional out-of-pocket costs for independent inspections, legal consultation, and missed work time in order to reach an acceptable outcome. In fairness, Liberty did return to address issues and did not walk away from the project. However, the overall experience fell far short of what I would expect for a premium-priced renovation. Homeowners considering Liberty should be prepared to document everything carefully, confirm who will perform the work, and ensure that all remediation and close-out terms are clearly defined in writing before proceeding.

Installation day was amazing as Joon and his team came in, got everything into place, and cleaned up the areas to better than when they got here. Instead, we encountered a level of defensiveness that made an already frustrating situation more difficult than it needed to be. To the company's credit, Friends & Family Flooring ultimately corrected the flooring issues and addressed damage that occurred to our dining room table during the project. We appreciate that they stood behind their work and made things right in the end. However, the process of getting there was far more challenging than it should have been. Quality workmanship is important, but so is customer service when problems arise. It was an absolute pleasure working with everyone at American Home Contractors (AHC). I had a very customized project requiring a very specific type of siding since I live in Georgetown, DC, and we have several layers of historic oversight required prior to permit issuance. In other words, this neighborhood is extremely difficult to work in due to all the regulations required to obtain a legal permit to do any external work on these historic homes. John Roda, AHC's Project Coordinator, was my primary contact at AHC over the many months it took me to finally obtain my permit and begin deciding on how to obtain the siding necessary to meet permit specifications. He was extremely competent and patient throughout the entire process and worked closely with me and the Historic Preservation Office contact for Georgetown to ensure that we were meeting strict product demands while also staying within my budget. So many other companies either refused to work with me or were incapable of working with me on this project due to the difficulties I encountered while navigating the permitting process alone. AHC is different. They have stamina, courage, and endurance. High-quality people + high-quality materials= high-quality job with the added bonus of a decent price for what you are getting. In the end, my home looks absolutely stunning. Even more importantly, I now have the peace of mind that my home has good quality siding and is structurally sound. AHC actually had to remove the illegal Masonite siding (has a class-action lawsuit for the damage it has caused homes in the past) that was likely installed in ~1970-1980 without the issuance of a legal permit when the old pebble dash stucco was removed. They installed some beautiful cedar siding in its place. I spent many sleepless nights worrying about the damage the Masonite might have done to the furring strips and the old 1880s substrate in the lead-up to the installation. Thankfully, all was well and the installation was extremely efficient and successful. The AHC siding installers arrived at 7 am on the day of installation and worked tirelessly until 7 pm. We initially estimated the job would take ~ three days, and they finished in only a day. Their work ethic and workmanship on the installation were truly astounding, especially in an era when simple tasks are often drawn out and good work ethic and professionalism are touted ad nauseam by companies but rarely mobilized in practice. As a first time homeowner, I have gone through a lot of mental anguish with my home's historic idiosyncrasies, particularly when I am in the process of gathering estimates for necessary maintenance work and wait weeks or even months to hear back from companies that overcharge for low-quality materials and unenthusiastic, inefficient labor. AHC is different. I heard back with my first estimate within days (during fall 2020 with the COVID pandemic raging on), the materials were excellent, the price was fair, and John was very enthusiastic and optimistic throughout the project's duration even despite the multiplicity of hurdles we encountered with the ever-changing demands of the historic preservation specialists. The only upside of gathering competing estimates and meeting with all those contractors I met with initially is that when I finally found a gold standard contractor (AHC), I experienced the sheer relief of having a reliable contractor for my current and future projects and to wholeheartedly recommend to friends and family. I am so grateful to everyone at AHC who worked so hard to make what really seemed impossible and out-of-reach finally materialize. If you have a tough (or simple) project that you need to be done right and are torn between companies or are just starting your search for a reliable, five-star contractor, I can highly, highly recommend AHC based on my experience with them. The recent storms took a toll on the roof of my house. I needed a new roof immediately. However, I did not know the best company to install the roof. I spoke with representatives from five companies that do home repairs. As I listened to each representative's presentation, I learned the companies used the same procedure for installing a roof and I learned that many of the companies use the same supplier for material. At the end of the presentations, I discovered a major difference between the five companies. The price for installing the roof was different. Some of the representatives quoted a very high price and proceeded to bargain persistently to earn my business. After reflecting on each of the presentations and reading the brochures from each of the companies I knew I wanted American Home Contractors to install my roof. John, the representative from American Home Contractors was very detailed in his explanation of the roof installation. In addition, the price quoted, was very reasonable. After reviewing the company's contract, I had many questions. I was impressed with John's professional manner and the attention given to my inquiries. He answers my questions within 24 hours. Moreover, since my roof was in such bad shape, I was overjoyed when my roof installation was scheduled within a week. The roof materials were delivered on time and meticulously placed on top of the roof. Furthermore, the shrubbery and the lawn were not damaged during delivery of the materials, the removal of the old roof or the cleanup. The work crew did an excellent job installing the roof. I was not at home when the project was completed. Therefore, extra roof shingles were left on the side of the house. I called John to ask if one of the workers could stop by and put the shingles inside my garage. John was the person who put the shingles in my garage. My experience with American Home Contractors was great from the beginning to the end. This company provided outstanding 5-star customer service. I spent a lot of time talking to representatives from various roofing companies. You do not need to do that. All you need to do is schedule your roof installation with American Home Contractors. For the past year and a half, I have been dealing with persistent, slow leaks from my roof. Numerous contractors have visited my home to address the issue, but they all focused on replacing the roof using my insurance instead of fixing the leak. I have been fighting with my insurance company for over a year without any success. In the meantime, no one seemed to care about resolving the leak, which could have been fixed in less than 30 minutes! Finally, I was fortunate enough to find American Home Contractors with a perfect 5-star rating from thousands of people!!! I was initially skeptical about how one company could consistently receive such high ratings from thousands of reviewers, but I decided to give them a chance. I inquired about their surprisingly low-priced roof tune-ups, and Mike Giordano came to our home to perform the service. From the moment I met him, Mike was delightful. He listened to my concerns, gathered the necessary details, and provided me with options, focusing on fixing the leak and some other issues first. Can you believe my leak was resolved within minutes after struggling with it for over a year and having at least three different companies look at it? He made me feel in control and was so sincere, honest, professional, and straightforward that it felt like I was the company's owner. My roof is no longer leaking, and while we may need to replace it soon, I'm hopeful that American Home Contractors can convince our insurance company to cover the costs. My other option would be to pay out of pocket. Regardless of how things go, I would never choose any contractor other than American Home Contractors. I will recommend them to all my family, friends, and neighbors. I wish more contractors operated the way American Home Contractors does. I want to once again thank Mike Giordano for being such a fantastic person--honest, friendly, and respectful. I'm not sure who runs this company, but one thing is clear: a successful company always starts with great people at the top. read more

I recently discovered a significant area of missing shingles on my roof, presumably due to storm damage. I was unaware of when the damage occurred and immediately decided to reach out to American Home Contractors for assistance in replacing the missing shingles. I had previously utilized their services to replace some loose shingles, and each time, their professionalism and high-quality work impressed me. Additionally, their transparent pricing, clearly outlined on their website, made me feel confident that I would receive fair treatment. Therefore, without hesitation, I contacted them again, seeking their help exclusively. Upon their initial assessment, they recommended a complete roof replacement. However, the entire process of replacing the roof proceeded remarkably smoothly. Everyone involved in the project, including roof specialist, business manager, and a team of roofers, demonstrated utmost professionalism. Particularly, I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Zack Stark, who played a vital role in efficiently organizing and coordinating the entire process. He took the time to explain all the details, such as procedures of working with the insurance company, selecting roofing materials, the roof replacement procedure, potential cost, and patiently addressed all my inquires. Mr. Stark's responsiveness, even during evening hours made me feel confident in his reliability and expertise as a roofing contractor manager. Thank you, Zack! I recently had work done by American Home Contractors. I had my roof and siding replaced August 9th and 10th, respectively. The roofing project was done in about 6 to 7 hours, I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing. My complaint with the roofing crew is that NO one on site could communicate with me; they didn't speak english. This became frustrating when I was questioning why they picked the lock to my gate instead of ringing the doorbell or knocking on the door. The color I selected doesn't look like the color on my roof. I selected earthtone cedar and my roof looks dark brown.The best part of the experience, they arrived the date they were supposed to, on time, and the clean up was almost immaculate. The siding crew was a whole other experience in itself. They arrived a day early. Why am I complaining, you may ask. Initially, I was happy that they came a day early because of my scheduled plans for their original date. But the damage to the inside of my house walls and ceramic tile in my bathrooms, the use of my water hose(during my lunch I went back to check on them) to clean something personal(it wasn't used for the job)the broken gate lock--they,too, picked my lock on my gate--is the reason I'm not happy. And the roof fascia that was to be replaced along with the siding--has yet to be replaced as of today, August 30. The siding looks good but at the expense of other damage. Again, the best part of the experiene was the clean up. I've held off writing this review to give American Home Contractors the opportunity to rectify these issues. However, the project manager doesn't follow up or through on what he says. If you're a company that takes pride in the services you provide, you should also make sure that the contractors that you hire to complete your work does, too. Listen to your mother. My mom had the roof on her rental property replaced by AHC and she loved them. I didn't remember that when my rear neighbor noticed a strip of shingles out of place on my roof, and I called another company I'd worked with. They claimed that I needed to replace my roof completely. I happen to have an intimate knowledge of my current roof, because I'd had it completely rebuilt from the studs up about 10 years before (plus, I couldn't see any of the wind damage he said he was seeing), so I was anxious for a second opinion. AHC was extremely responsive, kept in touch while i was wrangling the other co., and put me on the phone with Sam, a tech who looked at my pictures and gave me some money-saving advice right on the spot, inviting me to text him with any updates while they tried to find me an appointment--they were booked through the end of the month. Weeks had passed while I was fooling around with the other company, and a big rainy weekend was looming when I finally contacted AHC. They did their best to try to fit me in, and managed to get me an appointment for a tune-up the next Tuesday, just days after I connected. Howard came out, with decades of experience working on roofs, and he listened to all my roof info, inspected the roof, and was able to fix everything i needed, complete with providing a report with before and after photos, for the tune-up price. He also, at my request, gave me a suggested maintenance schedule and prognosis for my roof that was music to my ears. Seriously, I don't know where else you can get this kind of granular but comprehensive roof repair. They are truly about service, not sales, and it shows. We have hired American Home Contractors for multiple home improvement projects for our house in Alexandria VA: roof, gutter and siding. We have been very impressed with their professionalism and quality of work. It started with the project coordinator Brandon Salyer, the production scheduler Katherine and all the crews that performed the actual work at the site. Brandon and Katherine kept us informed at every step of the process. From product demo, contract preparation, material ordering to the work start date. The Covid disruption to the supply chain did cause time delay but American Home Contractors constantly kept us informed. Finally, when the materials arrived, they called us immediately to schedule the work dates. All their crew teams are very punctual and performed superbly. The crew that impressed us the most is the siding team led by Jose Moran. We are also very pleased with the James Hardie Plank look and feel after the installation. After the work, the crew teams did sufficient cleanup and the unused materials were removed promptly out of our house the next day. We only have to make the whole payment after Brandon stopped by afterwards to inspect the work quality. In general, we are very happy that we have chosen American Home Contractors company to entrust these three important projects. Their prices are competitive and Brandon was honest and straightforward and very helpful during the whole process. We strongly recommend their service to all home owners. You can trust them to perform the installation with highest quality and you can trust them to honor their service agreements to come back to fix things. His communication skills were outstanding, as he patiently answered all of my questions and addressed any concerns I had regarding the project. I usually get American Home Contractors to clean/tune up my gutters every year, which I'm always satisfied with because they take photos and are very thorough. This time, I knew I needed work done on my soffits and probably needed new gutters. They suggested new soffits and to go on and replace the gutters since the gutters had to come down for the soffit replacement. John Roda was my project manager, and he was thorough and answered all my questions when he came by for my estimate. But what happened when they finished the work is what really impressed me. The crew (subcontractors, but they did a really good job) came and installed the soffits and gutters, but since I'm in a duplex, they only put the soffit on my side, as they should have. However, where the new soffit ended and my next door neighbor's began, there was a hole. It was there before, and I thought the new soffit was going to fix/cover it, but it didn't because it was on the line between my house and my neighbor's, but birds had been flying in the hole and nesting all spring. I called John and sent him a picture, and he got Mike, their handyman, to come by. He took a piece of vinyl and filled the hole and at no extra cost to me! I was so appreciative and pleasantly surprised because they didn't have to come back out since they didn't do anything wrong (the hole was arguably on my neighbor's side). But now I have nice soffits and gutters and don't have to worry about birds nesting in my (or my neighbor's soffits)! I'll continue calling American Home Contractors for my gutter/soffit needs. read more

When my wife and I decided it was time to replace our roof, we envisioned a stressful series of encounters with contractors coming to give their spiels with us not quite getting all that we bargained for... With American Home Contractors (AHC), nothing could have been further from the truth. James Im exceeded our expectations in every way, leaving no disappointment in any regard. James spent quality time, ensuring we knew all of our options, and listening to our needs and wants. When he left our home after the initial visit, his professionalism stood out the most. He used pictures of past jobs to help explain how AHC provides a superior quality of work. While AHC did not come in as the cheapest option, it was close and the quality differential was immediately obvious. Jorge's crew arrived on the day of installation at 7 a.m. sharp, and began their tear-off using large tarps, just as James had explained, to isolate a large amount of the debris. By early afternoon, installation of the new roof was well underway, and the crew had already impressed me in so many ways (I was looking through the window) with their attention to detail. Before 5 p.m., they had completed the job and had cleaned so thoroughly that no one could tell Jorge's crew of thirteen workers had ever been there with one exception - a brand new, charcoal architectural roof, the envy of the block! I reached out for an assessment of my property. The appointment team was responsive, pleasant, and thorough in answering my questions. I set up an appointment, and they called 30 minutes prior to arrival. This is important because the appointment window was four hours. The technician, Isiah, arrived on time and was both professional and pleasant. He explained the assessment and reviewed the plan. He took over 100 clear pictures and provided great detail in addressing issues. He seemed honest and authentic and was able to reasonable possibilities. He removed his shoes prior to accessing the second level. Some customers will prefer booties so that's something the company should providing technicians in the future. Upon exiting the attic, there was some insulation that dropped on the floor. He asked for a broom and offered to clean it up and even replaced a light bulb in the attic. I had a follow-up phone call with Isiah where he provided even more thorough explanations on his assessment. Isiah took his time to label the pictures, which was helpful for understanding and showed his level of detail. The report was providing electronically which worked great for me, and I am not sure if they offer a printed paper version. I didn't ask. I removed one star for the price. I think the coat should contribute to any future work, big or small if they are interested in retaining a new client. read more

I recently had 2 custom sliding doors installed by American Home Contractors, and I couldn't be happier with the entire experience. From start to finish, the service was exceptional. The new sliding doors are absolutely stunning and have transformed my home. They not only enhance curb appeal but also bring in so much natural light, making a noticeable difference inside and out. Roger and his team of installers were efficient, friendly, and punctual --everything you could ask for in a professional team. The took the extra steps to ensure the trim and seals were seamless. He gave detailed instructions on the locking mechanisms and what step to take to maintain the trim and caulking around the doors. They left the worksite better than they found it! Clean, neat and tidy. Special shoutout to Zack Stark, our salesperson, who made the process seamless. He was extremely engaging, never pushy, and took the time to present several options tailored to my preferences. He really set the tone of the type of service and experience American Home Contractors would provide. I will definitely turn to American Home Contractors for our next project and highly recommend them to anyone looking for quality work and excellent customer service. They aren't a big box outfit and truly seek to provide a service to their customers. read more

We had our gutters cleaned by Howard of American Home Contractors. The experience was positive from the start. We received notification from AHC, in advance, that the tech was on the way along with his name. He arrived early (loved that) in a marked van, so it was easy to know he was legit. Howard (the tech) was a rock star! He explained the process and kept me informed along the way. All of that was worth 4+ stars. What makes this a 5 star review is that our gutters were full of water, leafy gunk, etc. AND at least one downspout was clogged. Howard saw that we had obviously JUST had our flower beds mulched as they were still picture perfect. So, to avoid creating a mess on our lawn and in our flower beds by blowing out all of that yuck, Howard hand cleaned the gunk and placed it in trash bags instead of simply letting the mess fall where it may. Wait...there's more. We JUST had a portion of our gutters replaced last summer. The clogged downspout was caused by an elbow-shaped connection that was installed upside down. That caused debris to get caught instead of flowing through. He FIXED the issue by removing the part that was installed incorrectly and re-installing it the way it was intended. He went above and beyond and earned every one of these 5 stars! Thank you Howard and AHC! read more

It had been 5 years since my new roof was put in place & we are considering Solar panels, so I wanted to be sure everything on top was OK. I saw an ad in the Sun Paper for a "roof-tune-up" for $149 including a few new shingles and vent seals if needed. I placed the order for the following week and someone called from the office the day before to confirm & explained their procedures & what to expect. My Roof Technician, Howard Shires arrived the next day within 2 minutes of the appointed time. (He was early.) He introduces himself * explained the procedures again and inspected my attic & the roof./ He showed me pictures of the good & bad. I opted for the repairs to the vent & chimney flashing (installed backwards) which was priced @ $350 which I thought was reasonable considering the work involved. . The repairs were done even though it ran into 6PM. Howard again showed me photos of the repairs and said that they would be sent to me via e-mail. Howard was pleasant, courteous & knowledgeable. I have the utmost confidence that my roof is good for another 20 years. I would use American Home Contractors again if the need arose. Too many other contractors will decline small jobs because they are looking for a "Home Run" on every sales call. What a pleasant surprise!!! read more

Thank you Mr Howard Shires. On October 24th my faith in home contractors was restored. Like many of you reading this review. I have been constantly solicited by different roofing companies, usually at the most inconvenient times. More often than not I've been told your roof is falling apart. I can schedule a free estimate , or my favorite . it's old an of builder grade quality an should be replaced. Keep in mind this is all from the same vantage point I have "THE GROUND". Well not American Home Contractors. Me Shires arrived to my home early an presentable. He gave me a brief explanation of what he would be checking my roof for. He took before an after pictures of the two shingles he replaced as well as a couple areas he resealed. The process was painless an easy on my wallet. Not once did Mr Shires tell me my 17 year old original roof was falling apart or needed to be replaced. Actually the contrary, said it was in decent shape an only needed what he serviced. I paid $149.99 for there roof tune up ,an now have peace of mind going into winter. If your in need of a honest roofing company/home contractor give them a call. I was told my roof should be fine for at least another 4 to 5 years. An for there honesty I plan to have them do the job in the future. Thanks again AHC . read more

American Home Contractors located in Laurel, Md is an excellent company. I had the pleasure of working with John Roda, Project Coordinator to help me with roofing, siding and gutter work on my house. After finding out I needed work done on my house, I researched few companies then decided to go with American Home Contractors. After scheduling the initial consult, a few days later John Roda came out to my house. He took time to carefully inspect the roof, siding and other exterior parts of the house to ensured complete and detailed assessment of damages with the house was captured. After determining what work was needed, he scheduled a time frame for the work to be done. The crew was over early in the morning and completed all required work in half a day. All the debris from the work was completely cleaned up. John Roda came back out a few days later to do an inspection to make sure I was happy with the work. John Roda and American Home Contractors went beyond the expected work scope to ensure high quality customer service and work. I highly recommend John Roda and American Home Contractors for exterior work. For an future exterior home improvement or repair, I would definitely Give John Roda a call. read more

American Home Contractors did an amazing job on 2 projects in my home that not only make the house beautiful, but also will save me money in the long run. James did a great job of providing me with the necessary options and information to make an informed decision about my purchase of new windows and new door. He was very communicative and professional, providing a detailed estimate...which other companies I received quotes from for the same project failed to do. I knew exactly what I would be getting and exactly how much each part of the project would cost. I had such a great sales experience with James, I decided to have them replace my gutters as well. The work was done quickly and looks fantastic. I'm very pleased. When it came time to replace my windows and door, both James (sales) and David (installer) called me to let me know my parts arrived and scheduled a convenient time to complete the project. David's team came in early and worked extremely efficiently to complete the project in a matter of hours. They were very clean to the point you would not have known there was work being performed on my home just a matter of hours previously. I am a 100% satisfied customer! I had nineteen 40-yo windows and shutters replaced. The quality of the window construction and installation was OUTSTANDING! I appreciated the no pressure sales tactics during our initial visit, and rep explained everything is easy to understand terms. He answered all questions in detail, no matter how mundane, and the price quote was right on the money with what I expected. The windows arrived based on the estimated schedule, and installation was thoroughly coordinated ahead of time. On day of installation, the crew called ahead and arrived on time. They got right to work, knocking out the job in one day. They were polite and respectful, wearing masks inside to accommodate a medical condition I have. They covered shrubs and floors to protect them, kept all trash and debris picked up as they worked, and swept floors afterward. After the job was done, the foreman went through a thorough demonstration of the window operation, answered all of my questions, and made sure I was satisfied with the installation BEFORE handing me the invoice. I will definitely recommend American Home Contractors to my friends, and will use them again in the future. read more

Kager Johns of AHC came to my house today on 5/8/18 to perform a Roof Tuneup. Kager was on time and quickly went to work with a scan of the roof and what he was going to do as part of the tune up. He used his smart phone to take photos of problem areas and explained what he was going to do. I had a few shingle tabs missing and he showed me what shingles he had on hand to try to match what I had. It's tough to match 12-year old sun-faded shingles, so he got close enough for me. More importantly, the roof is again protected from water. Kager went back up on the roof and took care of the shingle tabs and other items he showed me like caulking the nailheads and some other areas around vents that should have been caulked but weren't. He showed me after photos of everything he touched on the roof. The entire job was maybe an hour. He was very quick and very personable. Don't know if you can ask for him by name, but I would. Bottom line is Kager Johns is an excellent roofer and I would hire this company again to perform this service and will consider them for other home repairs as necessary. The roof tuneup was a steal at $149. read more

A friend of mine noticed a shadow in our ceiling one night recently and warned that it could mean that the roof was taking on water. I called the landlady and she engaged AHS to come out for a roof "tune-up." Howard Shires came out today to give everything a look. He was extremely thorough, taking high-resolution pictures of everything and sharing with me as he worked his way through the attic and roof. I mentioned to him that my fiance and I are tenants, but that we are interested in purchasing the house. Mr. Shires was extraordinarily helpful in providing a wealth of information not just about the condition of the roof, different types of tiling and their value relative to performance, but also went further to assess the condition of other aspects of the property and things as a homeowner I could expect to need to address in the coming years. Mr. Shires was courteous, professional, and personable throughout. It's clear that AHC places a high value on customer service, something that's refreshing after having dealt with many contractors over the years. I'll definitely be calling them for any roofing needs I have in the future. read more
