Had my gutters serviced today. Used the Groupon deal so it was very affordable. I called and at first it was their answering service that answered. Apparently they are unfamiliar with the fact that they are on Groupon so I had to call back when someone from the company was in the office to get on the schedule. They had availability for two weeks later. I wasn't in a rush so I don't mind the wait. I wasn't scheduled for the 12-4 time window. On the day of I had a work commitment that came up last minute. They were very accommodating when I called so I was pushed further back on the timeslot till after 3 PM so I could be home for the service. The technician Isaiah arrived and informed me what he was going to do. Afterwards he sent me a detailed report with photographs of my gutter system. Thankfully, everything looked good and I did not require any additional services after the cleaning and tuneup. read more

I am so happy with my new windows, and especially with my new sliding glass door installed my American Home Contractors last week. For the first time I realize I had been hearing a fair amount of outside noise (which I'd apparently gotten used to), because these windows/doors are soundproof; now I don't hear anything at all from outside! And even better, the windows are easy to open, and my sliding glass doors actually slide well in the track, and are not shaking and drafty when it's windy outside -- major improvements from my old, builder-grade, 20+ year-old windows/sliding door. Further, the service crew was excellent -- careful, kind, professional, efficient, and they cleaned up everything afterwards. Roger, the foreman, has been doing this work for almost 30 years, and Jose, who single-handedly carried in/out the windows/doors, has been doing this work for 10+ years. I didn't get the name of the quiet third service person who was mostly outside and on the ladders, also very efficient. fyi, they did mention that working on the 4th floor of our condos from ladders was a bit more challenging as the original builder-grade windows had been made to fit by being packed/taped in place from the outside, which necessitated them having to actually break some of the glass to be able to pull the old windows out. But they did it - and did it well. Finally, Shaun, the project manager who gave me my estimate and oversaw the project from estimate, HOA approval process, to completion, was great. I thought he was going to find the opening and schedule me for a later date to fix it. To my surprise it was done ASAP. I will start by saying we did not use this company and did not get so far as a quote. I cleared my schedule for the appointment time but when they called to confirm they needed both owners present. This is unrealistic and ridiculous. The more I listened the more it sounded like a timeshare pitch. We wanted a simple quote to replace our front door that we can get anyone to do a quote, some don't even have to meet with us. They insisted they could not do the quote, in the event one person was not happy with the design. Simple, we have a storm door and it needs to be replace, there are no design issues. The following is what I encountered: *Installers arrived on the incorrect day *Ordered the incorrect materials and colors *Did not follow installation instructions *Virtually no communication,, no follow up, or follow-through for weeks *Endless delays I will not be purchasing additional windows from this company, as I will do without the hassle. My experience with them has been nothing short of disappointment and an ongoing stress from last 2months. It started out pretty well with a scheduled roof replacement. We decided to go with the highest rated company with a premium price. Josh Dunevent gave us quote and scheduled the work. Beyond that things went down pretty soon. On the day of roof replacement they sent unlicensed roof sub-contractors to our home who started the work of replacing roof but unfortunately in the middle of the day the weather went bad. The day already had a 30% forecast warning and I had checked with John Sopko (project manager) a day before if the reinstallation should be postponed but he said no the work will be still scheduled as planned. What happened next has been a living nightmare since. As the rain poured the roof was exposed and all the rain water entered our house damaging the floor, walls, electrical appliances, and closets.the crew did not tarp or prepare to prevent our home from damage before the rain started. The installation sub-crew neglected home damage and still continued installing the roof even during heavy pouring and did not stop when told to. The situation was then escalated by me to Josh and John who then drove to our home and stopped the installation. The American Home Contractors (Josh) agreed on getting the home restored and water damage fixed. It started smoothly with us hiring independent company to do water restoration and house reconstruction but lately the communication has stopped from American Home Contractors which has led to financial strain on our monthly budget. We paid upfront cost for restoration for which we have not been reimbursed after multiple emails and phone calls. I have been living in a mess of home since 2months now with a toll of financial, mental, and physical distress. The company has not been empathetic of our situation to resolve the mess they created in our house. They boast about 39years in business but unfortunately do not live up to their name. I am forced to write this review after finding no way to get them to respond to my emails, messages, voicemails, and phone calls. The rain water damage to our new home is beyond stressful which led me to missing so many days off from work. We are living in constant dust and construction from last 2 months. I will not recommend this company for any roof replacement because they don't deliver what they promise. read more

One of the best experiences with a company I have ever had. They were fast, great with communication and affordable. Had two other companies give me quotes of $450 and $670 for a roof tune up. AHC does it for $199. (FYI.....You may be able to grab a Groupon for $149!) My tech, Angel Martinez, explained everything he did, took pictures and said it looks good. He wasn't trying to tell me that I need a new roof right now, which is what I expected. Overall, this is a great company and wonderful employees. I don't know the name of the person with whom I was texting for my appointment, but he or she was very helpful. I used their website to request a gutter inspection and quote for gutter repair and/or replacement. The website clearly states they provide Free Consultations but when you submit the form to set an appointment they send an email stating they do not provide "free inspections or estimates or repairs." The email lets you know that you can pay $149 for a "Premium Gutter Tune Up" that includes an inspection. If they use this deceptive behavior to get a customer, I can only imagine what it would be like trying to get them to actually deliver the service you engaged them for at the price you agreed to. These guys are honest, solid and thorough. AHC replaced my 90 year-old dad's roof, and did an excellent job. I knew that the project could be problematic as Dad had a deferred the maintenance on the roof for almost a decade. And not just before the deal was closed, but during and afterward, too. He answered every question, followed-up about every detail, and even came out himself to finish clearing the debris that fell from the roof. What's more, the job was finished in one day; the team arrived and finished on time; and they were happy to do a few small favors for me, like trimming branches that were touching the roof, which I would have otherwise needed to hire a different company for. I wanted an estimate from American Home Contractors for exterior work on my home, thinking I'd chosen a reputable local business. What I got instead was one of the most infuriating experiences I've ever had with a service provider. I scheduled an appointment for an estimate. I took time off cleared my schedule to meet in the afternoon. One hour passed. No show. No call. No text. Nothing. Frustrated, I called their office to find out what was going on. Instead of a simple "We're running late" or an apology, I was subjected to an absurd interrogation: name, address, phone number, email, how I found them, what work I needed, when I needed it, budget range--basically all the questions I gave them when I made an appointment. Seriously? You can't pick up the phone and talk to a potential paying customer? I left a detailed message explaining that their estimator was an hour late with no communication. Still no return call. No apology. No explanation. Radio silence. And here's the part that really baffles me: why on earth does someone need to be onsite for an estimate when the company only does exterior work? I offered to send photos, measurements, even a drone video of the areas in question. Nope. They insisted someone had to be physically present. Apparently, that rule only applies when it's convenient for them--because when it came time to actually show up, they couldn't be bothered. This isn't just poor customer service; it's contempt for clients' time and money. If they can't manage to show up or communicate for a simple estimate, imagine how they'd handle an actual job. AHC came out to do a roof inspection, and it is a good thing I called them, because they immediately identified some potential major challenges/issues and REPAIRED THEM ON THE SPOT. The best part is the repair is included in the roof inspection. That is awesome -- most other roofers do an inspection, then quote repairs to come back out another day, even with the inspection calls for simple seals or reattaching of shingles/shingle caps. The roofing inspector/repair person for me was Isaiah Glenn and he did a solid job. Arrived on time, took thorough pictures (honestly, he took and sent me 50+ pictures), did the repairs on the spot, including seals, shingles, etc. Overall, very, very happy with these guys .. I found my roofers for the long haul. Like a good mechanic, I am never leaving AHC. read more
