Hoffer Pest Solutions is a pest control company that I've used for several years at multiple homes. Overall I am pleased with my experience. I really appreciate the professionalism and punctuality that Hoffer brings to the table. Their technicians are always on time and they do a great job with regular exterior treatments as well as any interior issues that come up. They are also courteous and knowledgeable. They always explain the treatment process and answer any questions that I have. However, one thing that I found to be disappointing with Hoffer was the quality of their optional mosquito treatment. Despite routine treatment and even double the usual treatment at times, the result was...lots of mosquitoes. I don't know what they're spraying exactly but it's completely ineffective. Despite this setback though, I still give Hoffer Pest Solutions four stars. They do a very nice job with basic preventative pest control and I will continue to use and recommend them. read more

a guy named Bob was the one who initiated our contract. before charging us he stated that they will continue until the rats are gone. It was a minimal job at best for the price. they caught one large rat. two months later we caught 4 on a sticky trap. I called Bob back and he didn't honor his word on finishing the job until the pests were gone. Instead he persisted that he did not state that they would continue even though three of us in my office were told the same thing by him. if you deal with Bob know that he is not a man of his word. read more

I had some issues with my grass, and I wanted to have a reputable company take care of it. I trusted this company that my grass would come back to a new life, and I accepted to pay a ridiculously high price to give it a try. Bad choice! Half of my grass died. They didn't test my soil and they applied fungicide, which clearly was not needed. It definitely killed my grass. Now I am left with the only option of replacement. Even worse, they lied in their reports - claiming that my grass was green and healthy! Thankfully, I shot videos all during the period. He analyzed the situation by looking at the evidence and listening to the history. I had a similar conclusion from another company so I was interested in treatment. The monthly is cheaper than the one time service for termites however it is something that will need to be continued. I always take a day to make decisions. Man, what a great experience with this company. I had a small issue with termites and they were swarming around my house. We've been using Hoffer for a year in a half since we moved in. I first used them in Weston where we rented for a year. The service and providers seemed to be more competent in Weston. Here's the deal, the staff are all friendly and nice but when you are trying to get rid of pests nice ain't gonna cut it. We have had silverfish since the day we moved in and still have them. Had a problem with rats in the attic starting about 6 months ago, the first tech was scared to get on the roof so didn't seal any openings, where the 'roof' rats were getting in. He was convinced they were coming in from the ground. Puzzling. A supervisor came out (after I called and threatened to break up with them) and sealed the roof for $500. A month later and the noises in the attic are back. There goes $500. With all that being said, I broke up with them yesterday and it feels so good to have a new company coming out today to help get this all under control. Just wish I could get my money and time back. After my neighbor gave me another company's contact information she mentioned the previous owner of our home used Hoffer and had all the same issues. Lots of talk, no action. read more

I am very late writing this review, which is bad because we had a great experience with this company. Last year, we were blessed with uninvited 'guests' on our roof. It all started on a stormy nigh. Ok, it wasn't stormy, it was summer. I drove into our driveway and saw a mouse squeezing himself into our garage through a bent on the bottom of the garage door. Of course I panicked and came in the house screaming bloody murder. Hubby assured me he would get traps and catch the critter. He wasn't able to, the mouse was not falling for it. Then I started hearing pitter patter on our attic. No Bueno. Next thing I know, I open my garage door to do laundry and I saw not one, but three mouses going up to the roof. That is when we called Hoffer. A salesman came in that morning and adviced us on what we needed to do. Which is let them seal all access points, plus their setting traps and coming to get them and the whole nine yards. I am not gonna lie, at first I thought he was trying to play on my fear to stack on services. We didn't have critters in the house, just garage and roof, but I was paranoid they'd take over my house. In the end, we had them do it all. It was about $600 but they worked their fee and then some. They came a few times a week to check on traps, sealed more access points as they found them. We even ended up changing the garage door (not through them, another company) It was an expensive ordeal, but I would do it all again for my peace of mind. They also came every so often to fumigate (that is an additional service ) they were great. Every one of their technicians were polite and professional. I would recommend and use them again in a heart beat. read more

Lets start by letting you guys know I booked an appointment for someone to come to our home. I spoke to a lady by the name of Angeline who arrange one of her people to come see the property. NO ONE SHOWED UP!!! I missed a day of work. Very unprofessional. She told me someone would be here between 3-5 pm. It was almost 5 pm when I decided to call her and see If everything was ok and someone was still showing up. She said yes they have until 5pm. 5 pm no one showed upnot at 6 or 7 etc. I was able to get a hold of her the following day .Angeline told me that No one can do our service. She never bother to call and explain the matter. Total waist of time and unprofessional team. I don't know how they run their business but I wouldn't recommend this service to anyone. Hoffer Pest Solutions is a fantastic professional, clean, thorough pest company, and they were dedicated to keep coming back until the annoying Drugstore Beetles were fully eliminated. I believe I can be an excellent judge of pest control companies because (1) we have had so many homes in Florida, (2) I tend to be perfectionistic and make myself available whenever they come because I am fanatical, (3) my Ph.D. in psychology makes me an excellent judge of character, and (4) I have lived in Florida since 1970 and had several homes on both coasts. Typically, I take care of the outside of our home myself by spraying so that nothing must be done on the inside of the house. However, most recently we had an infestation that I did not want to take care of because I was not certain what chemicals to use. Besides since I do everything around the house I decided to send in the professionals; my wife found Hoffer Pest Solutions and they were determined that they could remove these pesky little critters for a single price that was extremely reasonable. These critters were tough to get rid of despite our cleanliness. Our house is approximately a little less than 5000 ft.² but for the most part they were in the bedroom and master bath, but recently they were showing up in additional locations throughout the house and the second floor. Unfortunately, the first treatment did not work, Hoffer returned as promised went thoroughly and professionally going through the house again, and the gentleman was American speaking perfectly good English and charming. However, these pesky critters required 1/3 treatment, so we decided that after that treatment we would also use Stanley steamer on the carpet as they recommended, and we thoroughly cleaned the house. On the fourth treatment, the same gentleman returned with yet another professional from Hoffer Pest Solutions who was also American and English-speaking with no accent, and both mature professionals went through the entire house and the garage. Fortunately, this time we were finally free of all these Drugstore Beetles! My wife and I were thoroughly pleased with the results and professionalism of Hoffer Pest Solutions and their dedication to totally complete the removal of these tenacious pests from the inside of our house on both floors. I contacted them for a quote over the phone to spray my yard for bugs and to fertilize. A friend had recommended them as she has them for a monthly service. Imagine my surprise when my quote was $2000. for the first treatment and $1000. a month. The going rate for the size of my yard is $300 per treatment. Was this quote because I live in Parkland or because I'm a woman and I wouldn't know any better? Very disappointed they didn't even come to see my yard for themselves. I have had Al Hoffer for many years now. Lately I have noticed they are not doing the job they use to with raising my rates every year. I now pay over 100.. a month for lawn and house. When they do come they don't open the back gate to spray the yard, they spray over the fence. It doesn't get the whole yard. The don't do one side of the house either. The one for the house came out not long ago. The usually wipe the webs and nest down from the house this was not done. I am thinking of looking for another pest control, as they are charging some much and not doing the job, plus going up every year. Yes, they do have the gate code to get into the yard. Since the "boys" took over from Dad, the place has gone from being an insect control company to a telemarketing company. Competent field employees have gone from qualified and caring to borderline useless and not knowing enough to know whether they should care or not. My last experience was someone I asked never be sent to the house again. Waived a flashlight around and looked elsewhere. Didn't want to go to where the last 2 problems were. What A scam company!! Their problem solver Zack is the worst bull---- artist ever. They sprayed my lawn to get rid of sedge and completely burnt it! Beware! This company sells you on an annual service package that renewals automatically. They never send you a renewal notice or give you a courtesy call. They just send you an invoice. When I received the invoice I called to notify them I did not want to renew the annual contract. They threatened they were going to send me to a collection agency. They said if I was not interested in renewing I should have notified them 30 days before. I was forced to renew and pay an unnecessary fee. Don't believe what the salesperson tells you when they visit you. Make sure to read contract in detail. I canceled my contract the following year and never want to deal with this company again! I pointed out to him other hollow spots on my porch and soffits which he said was just rotting wood. Fantastic service!! We were in the midst of a home renovation project when we noticed what looked like the dreaded signs of termites- wings of the same size, some soil, and we even spotted what looked like a termite! Trying not to panic I came on Yelp to find a reliable and honest pest control company. I called Hoffer and they were ready to help! They got a specialist to my house to do a free inspection in two hours, on a Friday of a holiday weekend!!?! This was SO appreciated because we were on a tight deadline to finish our renovations. Wes, the inspector they sent, came to check out our findings, and he was very personable and very knowledgeable. He confirmed it was indeed termites but seemed contained to a small area. What we thought was termite frass behind the baseboards was actually tunnels built by the ants. Because we were still demoing the area he told us he could not find the kick out holes for the termites, but he educated us on what to look for and told us to text him pictures if we found more evidence. As we continued our project during the weekend we were able to identify termite frass and find the termite kick out holes ourselves. We text Wes the pictures and he immediately set another free appointment for first thing Tuesday. When he arrived for the second time he confirmed our findings, and confirmed that the termites were contained to just one area. He was very honest and said that spot treatment would be effective for us since the termites were only spotted on one location and our roof was clear. Wes got a technician out to do a spot treatment SAME day- just 2 hours later! Best part of all treatment comes with a one year guarantee so if after 6 weeks we spot any signs of termites they will come out and do another treatment for free. The technician that came out to do our treatment was also knowledgeable and friendly. Again told us what to look for and to contact him with any questions. Hoffer offered us an excellent pest control service and peace of mind. They were honest, reliable, friendly, and FAST. read more

Before we started doing business with Hoffer Pest Solutions we had several small companies that treated the inside of the house unsuccessfully or were unreliable and wouldn't show up for appointments. We ended up with a horrific infestation of black ants in our house. They nested in our clothing, were found everywhere in the house. If you put a cup of water down, the cup was covered in ants in a moment. It was completely disgusting. I called Al Hoffer and had a consultation with a representative. They took care of the issue within a week. The thing that sets Hoffer apart from other pest control services we have used in the past is their philosophy that if you create a barrier outside - bugs don't get in. It's worked for me! Al Hoffer comes by the house once every 3 months, treats the outside and that's all we have needed. If bugs are found after the outside treatment, they guarantee any issues will be addressed for free. I've never needed to test this. Hoffer Pest Control has been treating our house for 3 years and I can happily report that our house has been bug free for 3 years with no treatments done inside our home! AMAZING! Another nice benefit of the outside treatments is that you don't have to be home to have your house serviced. The Pest Control Specialist comes by, does the outside treatment, then leaves notice of what was done, then they bill you. So easy! read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME Extremely terrible sales manager Michael. Hoffer does not actually do the tenting service themselves, they hire another company and just add their markup. Because of this, the sales team is clearly incentived to sell you the tenting service, again, which they do not provide. I was sent two offers. One with a treatment and one for tenting. After multiple lengthy discussions with the sales manager Michael, and the applicator, I chose one the option to treat without tenting. I was then told, AFTER I WAS SENT A CONTRACT, that they would not perform this service. Again, I bet, because the sales manager makes less money. Multiple times the sales manager was completely wrong regarding the products he was selling. He said Termidor, was an instant kill product, which in fact it is not. He said that the other product they use to spray leaves a residual effect on wood - also untrue per product label, it leaves residual if used in soil application, not wood. I asked about other chemicals, like BoraCare. Michael sales manager told me that the company does not use because it is only an instant kill. In reality, BoraCare is the product that soaks into the wood and lasts forever in the wood. Clearly, he was unaware of his own products and stated many false claims. He also wasted lots of time while only trying to sell me a tenting service but had offered other service from the beginning. Worse than bait and switch as he was also uninformed. HORRIBLE - bait and switch - DO not use someone that doesn't even know their own products. Terrible read more

I used this service for a termite problem in my back room. Per their technician my house did not need to be tented and so they used other means to handle the problem. The last time they were out here I pointed out all the classic droppings of termites along the bottom of the wall. I was told "no it must be the wind or something". Well today I go back there and the wall is soft and little holes are present where the termites have eaten through it. So happy we used this company to fumigate our house!! Getting the house tented was something we put off for far to long and Hoffer Pest Control made the process so much easier. Aaron took such good care of us. He worked hard to set up a date to fumigate that worked around our schedule and was ALWAYS available to answer any questions we had! After the fumigation Michael, who happens to be very friendly and nice, came out to the house to do a special spray treatment in our attic. He had no idea what he was in for. First of all, it must've been 140 degrees in there and he also had to take out all the boxes that were blocking his access way(sorry Mike!) He worked his butt off to make sure he got as much coverage as possible with the spray. I'm huge on reading reviews for companies and restaurants but rarely do I write one.
